Bedroom Lessons

What happens when you ask a guy to teach you to be good in bed?

HAYDEN
When a girl ends things with me because I’m “bad in bed”, I’m devastated. Yes, I hog the blankets and mumble in my sleep, but I didn’t think it was a deal breaker. That’s when I meet Nick — handsome, effortlessly cool, and apparently great in bed. Jokingly, I ask for his help and to my surprise, he actually says yes.

When he comes over to teach me, that’s when I realise ‘bad in bed’ doesn’t refer to sleeping, but something a whole lot more intense. While Nick is reserved and blunt, he’s still willing to help me, and with every lesson between the bedsheets, his ice-cold exterior begins to melt.

Things between us get heated, and the time I spend with Nick makes me learn things about myself I never knew before. But we’re not catching feelings for each other — this arrangement between us is for educational purposes only.

Bedroom Lessons is an MM New Adult romance. It features silly misunderstandings, steamy kissing tutorials, a slow burn romance and a guaranteed HEA.

I’m a shmoopy cheesy melted puddle of good-feeling goo after finishing this one! Total re-reader and feel-good tale.

Hayden’s ex told him he’s bad in bed. One sad-boy-at-a-party random meeting with aloof cool guy Nick offers hope for that, and Nick agrees to help him out. But Hayden doesn’t realize “bad in bed” doesn’t mean he hogs the covers and kicks in his sleep...!

Was this perfect? No, it really wasn’t. The beginning is a bit rough, didn’t seem as complex and voice-y as I’m used to from this favorite author; I honestly thought it was a draft, until about chapter 3 when it really took off...and then I was all in, all the way. At first, I couldn’t suspend disbelief about Hayden not understanding...like what college kid in the universe wouldn’t get “bad in bed”? But there’s just something so earnest, so naive about him, almost like he doesn’t quite get social cues? But he tries SO HARD to improve, and puts his faith in Nick so utterly sincerely, and I just... went with it, and it. Was. GREAT. I fell so hard for these two.

It's all Hayden’s point of view, and I’d have loved an afterward from Nick, but, in the book, it’s best to keep him the enigma. He’s the mysterious “don’t want a relationship, don’t fall for me, don’t get close” guy, and Hayden just accepts him as he is, enjoys him, gets to know him, and...well of course you see where that’s going. But the push-pull chemistry between them as Nick genuinely gets annoyed with Hayden for being so adorable and...dare he admit...hot...is absolutely sublime. I was smiling, giddy, kicking my feet, just enjoying this all the way. It’s super cute, but with depth and some terrific themes running through it that resonated.

It's a dual bi-awakening, with Nick being rather amazed that Hayden doesn’t mind taking lessons from a guy, and oblivious Hayden being all, why wouldn’t I? You know this stuff! And Nick being Shown realizing he is way, WAY more into this than he ever excpected...it was so goddamn cute I about had puppies. Nick isn’t quite as blasé and cool as he seems, and watching Hayden cuddle his way under his skin bit by bit was just too much fun.

Hayden’s sister (also his roommate) and her friend Atticus I remember from Dates & Mistakes, and they were so fun here, along with a game-night cameo from those heroes Leo and Edwin, nice to see. And Nick’s friend Tyler added charming moments and insight, along with both MCs families. Great layers and authentic interactions, I enjoyed them all. The author did a tremendous job of Showing how great these two were together without beating you over the head with it, making it oh, so rewarding to go along for the ride.

Just read it!

HEA, misunderstanding to sex lessons, experienced + naïve and grumpy-sunshine dynamics, dual bi-awakening, don’t fall for me. No OP drama really, except, Hayden kisses someone early on, and there’s a hint that Nick’s in bed with a girl fairly early too, on a phone call, before these two really get going. I was slightly irked, but, soon forgot about it, soooo...safe enough for me. They were all in with each other once feelings caught and took off, whether they admitted it (or even realized it) or not. The parking garage! Ah! Highly recommended.

My thanks to Gay Romance Reviews for the ARC; this is my free and impartial opinion.

Wow, the level of obliviousness in the beginning was wild - I had to suspend my disbelief a little (a lot) that someone could be that thick, lol. But once the misunderstanding was resolved, the whole story became so much more enjoyable for me.

I loved these two together. Hayden was honestly adorable and funny as hell. I loved his weirdness, earnestness, and how easygoing he was - especially regarding his sexuality. He just… was who he was, and it was so refreshing. Also, the way he could tell the difference between all of Nick’s frowns and scowls? Incredible. The man’s got range.

Speaking of Nick. Oh man. The grumpiest, most emotionally constipated disaster - and I adored him. I loved how genuinely into Hayden he was, not in spite of Hayden’s quirks, but because of them. He was falling hard and being so pissy about it, which made it even better.

And look. Their sweetness killed me. The scene where they write their names on each other’s bodies in the shower? 😭🫶 And then there’s also this:

“Don’t feel sorry for me.”
“I don’t.” The sadness in his eyes lingered, though, so I knew he was lying. “Hayden. You know you’re… everything, right?”
“Everything?” I echoed, because I wasn’t sure what that meant.
“You don’t need to change or become… better… to deserve love. You’re already complete the way you are.”

😭😭😭

The third-person POV worked really well here. It was fun trying to figure out what Nick was thinking the whole time, but I also wanted more: more of his background, more of why he was so incredibly guarded and prickly. We got glimpses, but not quite enough to really understand where he was coming from.

If I had one real gripe, it was the time jumps. Sometimes they’d have a really charged moment and then - boom - next chapter, it’s later and we hear ‘oh yeah, they made out off-page’. No! I want to see the horniness! The passion! The confusion! The ‘what are we even doing?’ moments! That’s the best part! Don’t rob me of that!

Also: this was not a slow burn in any way shape or form. I know the blurb says it is, but they’re already very intimate and telling each other they like each other by the 40% mark. Manage your expectations accordingly.

In short: once it found its rhythm, this book gave me so much heart-squishiness, and genuine affection for these two soft weirdos that I couldn’t stop smiling. Loved it.

Hayden thought he was getting lessons on how to sleep better, got sex lessons instead.

Bedroom Lessons was cute and ridiculous, a sweet romance between grumpy prickly Nick and oblivious & naive Hayden.

“You seem like the type to glare at people you find hot.” “That’s ridiculous. I don’t glare at you.” Pleasure tingled down my spine, but I tried not to let it show. “Actually, you do glare at me. A lot.”

I loved their dynamic, the funny misunderstandings, the sweet kissing lessons, the super hot spice. I loved how Hayden saw the sweet boy underneath all of Nick’s spikes. Nick just getting pissy that he’s falling for Hayden was adorable.

“When you sucked my fingers, that was probably the hottest thing that ever happened to me, and you only touched my fingers. My fingers. It’s fucking annoying.”

The spice was sooooo good, and actually realistic. From steamy first kisses to inexperienced blow jobs, sexual explorations that don’t always end well, horny 19 year olds just doing what feels good.

“So just to clarify, you are attracted to me? Or do you just enjoy kissing people generally—” “Yes, I’m fucking into you, Hayden,” he snapped.
“You don’t have to sound so pissed about it.”

Loving this cute college romance series and can’t wait for more silly boys to fall in love.

“Am I holding you too tight?” I whispered. “No,” he replied. “You’re not.”

Aww, Hayden and Nick are so darn adorable together. Between Hayden's cute obliviousness and Nick's aloofness, they are the perfect match. I love their obvious misunderstandings and willingness to grow and change. They work on improving their communication while yearning to relate to one another. Nick and Hayden both grow a lot in this story, making for a really sweet story.

Overall, this is a sweet and wholesome story about accepting oneself and finding the right person who doesn't want to change you but accepts all your imperfections. Nick and Hayden embark on a fantastic journey together, and the best part is that they have an amazing friendship as their foundation. I couldn't get enough of these two.

Hayden is God's strongest soldier because lesser men would not recover from being given a detailed list of ways in which they suck in bed(and yes, he's specifically bad at sucking) 💀

But not our Hayden. He said everything must be a learning opportunity and a stranger at a party who's known for being good in bed is exactly what he needed.

So he decided to get sex lessons to fix everything he's bad at.

Spoiler alert: It's everything.

“Sophie gave me a list. I can only give head for so long before my jaw hurts, I don’t last long enough, I can’t keep up a fast pace without getting exhausted, and finally, my kissing is mediocre.”

💀💀💀💀

I'm glad they're 19 because older MCs would probably not have lent themselves well to the premise.

Nick gives off this worldly over-it vibe but turns out he's not that worldly. Or that over it, really. It's obvious they're mutually falling for each other even though one has an iron tight grip on his emotions.

But the lessons actually happen. Not just a kiss where they're engulfed in the flames of passion and things get away from them. No. Multiple lessons. Over the course of several weeks.

This also has a love declaration that does NOT go well.

"I would listen to you talk about anything, even tax reform, which you have talked about, on multiple occasions."

Awww. Terrible business. But I love it for them.

If only the other agreed💀.

Anyway. Overall really enjoyable. I preferred the first half because it was funnier. The obliviousness Hayden has is off the charts but he really puts the dork in adorkable so, yeah. I was sold.

I couldn't believe how oblivious Hayden was, but he was so entertaining about it! I also wanted to hug him so hard when he was talking about his mum and about needing to be better so people didn't leave him 🥺🥺

Nick was difficult to like for the longest time, but his gesture of romance was just so cute and it was everything he knew Hayden would enjoy.

These two were so cute together and they just gave me a really good feeling throughout the book, I don't think I stopped smiling...apart from that one part!

It was also really nice to see Elena and Atticus again, as well as Edwin and Leo from Book 1.

This was an adorable cute story, and I’ll totally reread it in a while, after I’ve forgotten I already read this 😁 I loved how cute and innocent Hayden was. And I understood his issues developed from his childhood trauma. It’s so true that as a parent or adult you sometimes say things that have the worst impact on a child, and you never realize.
A art teacher once told she thought the stars were apparently not aligned when I was born because I was crap in making her specific type of assignments. I have carried that with me for years, always saying to everyone I wasn’t creative, until someone told me I was a very creative writer and I realized there were more types of creativity…
What his dad said was so bad, but as a parent I can relate, especially when you yell something like that when you’re in such a stressful situation. I felt so bad for both of them.

Nick was a good person I think, a d he helped Hayden a lot with all of his issues. I just would have really enjoyed his perspective as well. That would have made it a five star read. This is still a great fat four star read though. I very much recommend and like I said, it’s already on my reread stack.

Thanks GRR for this great ARC!

Hayden is coming across as a himbo. Thinks being bad in bed is stealing the covers. Doesn’t understand the corn emoji. Things like that.

He meets gruff grumpy growly Nick at a party and helps him find his key. Nick wants to pay back the favour.

“There’s not really anything,” I said, then cracked a smile. “I mean… unless you want to teach me how to be good in bed?”

“looking at you makes me feel like I’m looking at a little brother.” “The fact we’re both at a first-year party suggests we’re the same age—” “A pathetic, clueless little brother,” Nick continued, ignoring me, “but the kind you still want to help.”

One night Nick comes over to start the lesson.

Omg I literally laughed out loud when Hayden put on whale noises as his song of choice to set the mood 🤣 Poor Hayden is thinking literally sleeping with a girl and Nick has no idea what’s going on .

‘It hadn’t been like this with Sophie. We didn’t do all this build-up before going to sleep. We just lay down, heads on our separate pillows, and closed our eyes.’

Omg it’s all too much 🤣🤣 but things eventually get cleared up and Hayden kicks Nick out for calling him clueless. Then calls his ex for clarification.

Hayden runs into Nick at a cafe and begs him to teach him again.

“It’s ridiculous,” he said, then caught my expression. “See it from my perspective. I’m minding my own business when this random kid comes up to me, asking me to teach him how to have sex. It’s like a bad joke. It just doesn’t happen.”

Hayden actually isn’t that much of a himbo , more just clueless about sex and love.

Hayden kisses a girl at a club.

“You sounded pretty disappointed.” “Well…” I started. “Kissing her was fine and all, but I’d rather kiss you.” Nick was quiet for so long that I thought the line had cut out. Then: “Don’t say shit like that.” “Oh. Sorry.”

The lessons continue. Hayden jerks off in front of Nick. Hayden decides he might be into guys too so Nick gives him his finger for Hayden to practice on.

Hayden takes Nick on a fancy date to let him know he’s into him. They decide on being friends, who do sexy things with each other , can see other people and are not allowed to fall in love with each other. 🚫

They have another more relaxed board game date with Hayden’s sister and her friends. I haven’t read book one but possibly that couple is in this friend group?

Then there’s a sleepover at Nicks.

I can’t get a read on Nicks friend Tyler . Hmm 🤔 But he’s ok in the end.

Hayden has it bad for Nick. He also has some abandonment issues because of his mother.

‘If I tried hard enough, if I showed him I could be the perfect boyfriend, I could make him want me. If I just became good enough, I could win him over. I could make him change his rules.’

Hayden meets Nick’s family. Nick gets drunk. The next morning Hayden confesses he’s falling in love and Nick freaks out and leaves.

But they eventually make up cos Nick is also falling in love. Aww it’s a nice little ending.

“I love you, Hayden. I don’t want you to try to be some perfect boyfriend, because I love you the way you are. Okay?” “Okay,” I said.

story of Nick and Hayden

This is a friends to more romance, featuring Hayden and Nick, and book two in the Love Letters series.

After being dumped for being “bad in bed,” Hayden jokingly asks the cool and confident Nick for help—only to discover the lessons are a lot steamier than he expected. As their tutoring sessions heat up, so do their feelings, turning an educational arrangement into something far more intimate.

This was seriously all kinds of cute and hilarious. Hayden and his sweet himbo ways, coupled with the super series side of Nick was fabulous. Their growth from awkward misunderstanding, to friends to more was a slow burn but very entertaining. There are some beautiful secondary characters too that I hope get a book.

Things to expect in this book are:
Book 2 in series
MM college romance
Set in Australia
Friends with benefits
Slow burn
Silly misunderstandings
Opposites attract
Oblivious Himbo MC
S*x lessons
Bi awakening
Spicy times & dirty talk
Admit feelings
All in

I love this book so much, this was almost a perfect book for me in terms of romance! The overall evolution of the relationship between the main characters was so good! The only reason I'm not giving a fight stores is because I wish it would've been a little longer, more dragged out, even a little more angst would've been perfect. I wish the lessons part of the book would've gone a little bit longer, and that would've had a bit more spice in those scenes.

Quite a light read.

Hayden is dumped by his girlfriend because he's "bad in bed", but he's one oblivious boy, so he doesn't understand that "bad in bed" doesn't refer to hogging the covers and kicking people in his sleep. Thus when he asks Nick, aloof boy he met at a party, to help him out, he finds himself in an unexpected situation...

The characters pretty much act their age (they are both 19), but they're also rather mature and are all green flags (both of them). At the very beginning, I thought that I'm not going to like Hayden because of his obliviousness, but as I got to know him, I realized that he's actually a hurt boi in need of love... And I'm utterly weak to MCs who hide their hurt behind their smiles. That being said, his obliviousness fades away fast and then he appears rather observant. It might not seem consistent, but I personally was glad about that, because I think I'd find it frustrating if he was like that throughout the whole book.

Nick was also very intriguing. I could relate to him on many levels (having grown up in poverty myself), to his insecurities, the aloof mask he hinds behind, fear of vulnerability... I do wish I could've learned more about him and what kind of childhood he had exactly that made him become that way.

The banter and dialogue was very interesting and it just kept me going. Despite being low-angst and without that college OTT drama (which I personally don't mind), it never gets boring. There is a lot of healthy communication and compromise, which I really appreciated.

I'll just have to admit, one thing I struggled with were their "sex lessons", because I couldn't really feel the tension between them. It also threw me off a bit that, when they'd get to that part, it would sort of switch from showing us to telling us what they did and that Hayden found it hot. I was a little disappointed, because I was looking forward to these "lessons" (that's the premise of the story, after all). However, their intimate scenes get much better later on, after they stop with the "tutoring" and start having sex for real, and there's more showing there. Also, I really liked the fact that they

I'd recommend it if you are looking for an easy/light new adult romance, with mature MCs, no OTT drama, and with focus on communication and building healthy relationships.

QUIRKY,ADORABLE AND STEAMY!💕👬

I loved the first book of the Love Letters series- Dates & Mistakes but the second book overrides that love, sorry Edwin and Leo you have been replaced…

“LOVE LETTER Lygon University Love Letters #19877

The girl I was dating ended things with me because apparently I’m bad in bed. I’m not too sad about it now, because I’ve had time to get over it, and besides, it’s not like we were officially boyfriend and girlfriend. But the question I have is: how are you meant to be good in bed?”

I fell in love with Nick Dimitriades and Hayden Miller-(Elena’s younger brother)- from their first lesson, these two characters were just so quirky and sweet, oblivious and above all hilariously funny 🤣 sweet gorgeous Nick with his arresting bitch face facade and sweet, cute Hayden with his innocent oblivious naivety regarding being ”bad in bed”…

Both smart students with insecurities had bi-awakenings with surprising discoveries and revelations…

I loved their “pretend dates” getting to know each other suppers and lessons and when it came to who’s bottoming and topping they just went with what made them both feel comfortable…

“I’m just not a relationship person.”

But then Hayden did the unthinkable- he fell hard and fast… ❤️‍🩹

I loved seeing more of Elena and Atticus again and of course Leo and Edwin during their board game nights and how Nick came out of his shell and lit up.with A new character makes an appearance - Nick’s best friend- Tyler, who I hope to see more of soon…

I enjoyed their sweet, funny and poignant bi-awakening journey to love and hope to see more of them soon!

It is a medium burn with lots of kissing and touching, a single POV so you don’t see much of Nick’s feelings except when he lets his guard down… and then it’s swoon city!

I hope there’s another book, looking forward to more from this author!

I voluntarily received an ARC from GRR for an honest non biased review.

This book was enjoyable. I found it entertaining and I loved how oblivious Hayden was. When a girl ends things with him for being bad in bed, he has no idea that she is referring to sex. He totally missed that again and again and ends up asking for help/tutor from Nick after a run in at a club and off hand comment from Nicks friend. He thinks he will get tips and help in how to sleep with a girl, actual sleeping but things take a turn of course when it becomes clear that there has been a miscommunication during their first lesson. Nick has that cold exterior down and a wall up that is very high and doesn't let much out. Hayden is still drawn to him though he does find him hard to read. Nick is also drawn to Hayden though that is not easy to tell and he can be an jerk, sometimes meaning it and sometimes not. It was interesting to see them go through the lessons and both start realizing that there was more between them and that they were both attracted to men. It was a first for them both. Hayden was pretty much completely new in general to having a relationship/romantic/physical interactions with someone. Nick is determined at first that he doesn't do relationships so when they decide to take things past just being "lessons" it is just supposed to be casual. Hayden quickly realizes that he feels more and is hoping that he can show Nick that he would be a good boyfriend and that he will like him as more as well. They both have some things to work through as they explore their connection. The story was an easy one to read and flowed smoothly. We get everything from Hayden's point of view. It was a cute story and on the lower end for spice and explicitness though the bedroom down is open.

I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

ahhhhh this was really really really cute! Bedroom Lessons had great energy, i loved the pacing, and this was the best combination of quirky, hilarious and endearing! Hayden was absolutely adorable, and Nick's characterization as the grumpy grump was polar perfection, and overall i thought their relationship dynamic was brilliantly done! i just could not stop smiling because their chemistry was everything i could ever want in a "jaffy" romance! Iykyk...but in case you haven't read this yet: :) It felt soft and vulnerable, exploratory and sweet, and yes i'm still grinning a day after thinking about how fun and lovable this was!

And not only was the love story smushy and precious, but Hayden's emotions tied up to his past took me for a ride, and i felt all of it like my chest was on fire! I just wanted to smother him in love and thankfully Nick was on the same page with the healing hugs for our guy! I was really moved by the levels this story hit, and i love it when i get to the end of a book and discover that i had an even richer reading experience than i had expected!

I've been collecting Milana Spencer books from time but i haven't had a chance to read any of them yet! So I'm supremely happy that i had an awesome time with Bedroom Lessons and that i have some of her backlist already to devour while waiting for whatever comes next for Love Letters, because this series is straight up adorkable and i want more of it in my brain!

3.75 stars!

This is book two in the author’s Love Letters series (letters written by students, posted on an online message board in which other students read and respond with encouragement or sometimes, ridicule) and features Hayden and Nick, two college freshmen in Melbourne, AUS.

This is my first read by this author so I haven’t read book one in the series and don’t know how big of a part the love letters played in it but in this one, it only played a tiny part in the very beginning and was never mentioned again.

Hayden was absolutely adorable yet SO adorably clueless when he posted a message asking for help because he was dumped by his girlfriend and told he was bad in bed. I laughed so hard at some of the situations he got himself into when he asked Nick, a total stranger he’d met at a party, to teach him how to be good in bed because Nick supposedly was. Thinking it would be a joke, he agreed. Although both guys had always assumed themselves to be straight, as the lessons progressed, they each came to the realization of what they really wanted.

The beginning of the book was an absolute riot and I laughed my butt off so many times but then, as feelings became involved, it grew more serious though definitely, no less interesting. There was a bit of drama towards the end that was eventually resolved but then, unfortunately, it ended really abruptly in an HFN with no real resolution regarding a future relationship which cost it points with me. 3.75 stars for what could have easily been a 4.5 if it had had a clear cut ending.

I received a copy of this book for free from GRR but am voluntarily leaving a review.

50 billion/5 stars! Listen! Hayden is the himboiest himbo that ever himboed and I'm in love with him. Actually I'm in love with this author! Marry me? Wait; no; that's crazy. Ya know what? Hayden would tell me to go for it...MARRY ME!?!?!

So I have not read the first book in this series and it worked perfectly as a standalone. Our sweet, precious baby Hayden is 19 at college when his girlfriend tells him she wants to end things because, "he's bad in bed." Hayden knows exactly what she means...clearly it's because he steals the covers when they sleep (hee hee)

Enter stage right: Nick. After helping Nick find his keys, Nick (clearly uncomfortable because God forbid someone help him), says he'll do anything so he doesn't owe Hayden anymore... to which Hayden replies "Well you get help me get better in bed."

RIP! My heart ... nothing to see here folks! Just two super "straight" men going to give lessons at being good in bed.

Everything that comes next is perfection. I cried. I giggled. I kicked my heels like a little girl on a park bench. I text the group chat of how much my heart was hurting and how much I loved these perfectly flawed characters and their love story.

That's it. No notes! Utter perfection. I'll be awaiting your response to my proposal <3 :)

Oh my clueless Hayden, it was so funny to read the beginning when he truly didn’t know why he was broken up with. He’s the definition of golden retriever, always smiling and looking for affection. He was so sweet and when he fell in love with Nick it was adorable reading him trying to be the perfect guy for Nick without him realizing he already was. Nick was complicated, I liked him for the most part and throughout the book there were little hints that led me to believe he was just as invested in this “relationship” as Hayden was but, then with the big confession he acts like it was out of the blue for them to develop feelings for each other. I wish we got Nicks point of view so maybe we could understand what he was thinking. He acts like a jerk and I’m glad Hayden stood up for himself. When Nick gets his head out of his ass and apologizes to Hayden, there wasn’t really a reasoning behind why he acted that way. No past trauma, no miscommunication, and in my opinion he took way to long to apologize. Still I enjoyed this book because seeing them open up to each other and no one else was really sweet.

I adored this book and laughed my way through the first half, Hayden was so cute and clueless, all he wanted to do was “be better in bed”, which to him meant not hogging the covers or kicking his partner in his sleep. When he met Nick and convinced him to give him lessons on how to be better in bed, the first lesson was much more than Hayden expected. —it was hysterical, I couldn’t stop laughing all the way through it.

Hayden has a need to be good at things so people will like him, so they’d want to be around him so they would stay. Nick wants people to see past the obvious and want him for himself, a self he isn’t sure has much to offer. This bi-awakening developing romance is funny and sweet, with misunderstandings and avoidance of feelings on the part of one, and the striving for perfection on the other. They are so good for each other, giving Hayden confidence and bringing out parts of Nick he prefers to keep hidden. They are perfect together and their journey to boyfriends was engaging and easy to invest in their success. A really cute, low angst rom-com for an entertaining read. Be ready to laugh out loud and giggle a lot, it’s that fun.

This is one of the sweetest and funniest books I have ever read: the first part made me laugh heartily as I haven't in a long time.
Hayden is a special character: first he impresses you with his absolute and total naiveté, then he wins you over with his infinite sweetness and a hint of brattiness.
Nick the somewhat rough and emotionally inaccessible heartthrob who is supposed to give him lessons on how to become a perfect seducer, ends up instead being won over by the very unlikely pupil.
A tender low angst love story between two young boys discovering themselves, each with their own vulnerabilities and strengths.
On this touching and often funny journey, they are joined by a very enjoyable cast of supporting characters: most notable among them is Elena, Hayden's funny but very supportive sister.
The underlying message of the story, however, is very serious and important: each of us is unique, extraordinary, and special and is fine exactly as we are.
Those who truly love us do so precisely because of who we are, in all our imperfect and wonderful uniqueness.

Bedroom Lessons by Milana Spencer is pure feel-good, slow-burn sweetness. Hayden and Nick are utterly adorable together—between Hayden’s lovable cluelessness and Nick’s aloof charm, their dynamic is full of tension, growth, and heart. Their miscommunications feel real, but it’s their willingness to learn, change, and truly see each other that makes this story so touching.

Hayden’s innocence and emotional vulnerability, especially when talking about his mom and past trauma, broke my heart. His journey of self-acceptance felt deeply relatable—how childhood wounds shape our sense of worth, and how healing often starts with one person seeing you just as you are.

Nick took longer to warm up, but when he finally opened his heart, the gesture was perfect—sweet, thoughtful, and so Hayden. I only wish we had more of Nick’s POV; that would’ve easily made this a 5-star read for me.

Still, this was such a wholesome, emotional, and uplifting story about love, acceptance, and friendship at the core of it all.

This was a really cute premise but just fell flat for me in a lot of ways. I liked Hayden, he was really sweet. Nick on the other hand was kind of garbage? I think most of my problems with this book would have been so solved if it was dual POV. Hayden is quite naive/clueless socially so he doesn't pick up on a lot of cues that most people would get, and since he's the only narrator we don't really get to know Nick properly. Tyler was also a weird side character that could have been better, like at one point I thought he was going to confess that he was in love with Nick all along. Finally, I kept thinking throughout the book that it was weird it was a double bi/gay/whatever-awakening, especially without Nick's POV, I feel like Nick is supposed to be bi. I misread when Hayden first met Nick/Tyler and thought that Nick was gay, not Tyler, and then when I figured out Nick was straight, it just didn't make as much sense. I did finish the book and not a rage-finish, but it was just missing so much for me.

After his ex calls him “bad in bed,” Hayden is left insecure—until a chance encounter with the effortlessly cool and mysterious Nick changes everything. Nick offers to help, and Hayden quickly learns that being “bad in bed” isn’t about stealing the covers or tossing and turning all night.

Bedroom Lessons is a charming romance between prickly, grumpy Nick and cluelessly sweet Hayden. Their dynamic is full of entertaining misunderstandings at the beginning, tender kissing lessons, and enjoyably steamy moments. I loved how Hayden saw past Nick’s tough exterior, while Nick struggled with his unexpected feelings.

The spicy scenes were intense yet real—capturing everything from first kisses to awkward, honest first times between two 19-year-olds figuring it out together.

Thank you Milana Spencer for a sweet, lighthearted, and thoroughly enjoyable read!

I super liked the first book in this series and this one was equally good! I loved reading Hayden and Nick's path to their HEA! Yes, Hayden was precious and adorable and completely oblivious...such a sweet and endearing character! I loved how earnest he was and sincere in his quest to become a better boyfriend and lover. Nick is gorgeous and so guarded, but he also goes into the love lessons in good faith....and I love how he falls so hard despite himself. This is a darling New Adult story with college students who are new at love and loving. I enjoyed visiting with the MCs from the previous book (Edwin and Leo) as well as the same side characters as in the previous book - Elena and Atticus. Sure hope Atticus finds some love as well soon :) This is low-angst and just adorable - a lovely weekend read.

One of the sweetest books I've ever read. So so cute!
It was such a great experience to have a couple who actually talks with each other, that explains themselves and just tries to work things out. They felt older compared to characters who are older but still so immature in other books.
Also, both of them had such nice personalities, even Nick. I guess the way Hayden described him and could read between the lines just made everything better. And yes, Hayden was very naive, but he wasn't dumb, which I'm really thankful for. Now, this is not really adult stuff, the sex was pretty tame and kinda cute, but I actually appreciated that a lot. It worked with their vibe, almost like they needed their privacy and I was glad they had it.

Anyways.
Reading about Australia took me back to when I lived there and that was so nostalgic.
Overall I loved this book for what it is.

MM, College (university) romance.

I'm not sure if this was intentional of the author, but to me it read like one of MMCs, Hayden was on the autism spectrum. If so, I thoroughly enjoyed this character for this! It highlighted how situations can be misread and taken in a completely different direction. This for Hayden turns out to be his ex-girlfriend telling him bad in bed and he assumes that it was his sleeping habits, not sex!
By asking Nick, our other MMC to help him with lessons, things start to heat up quickly.

I didn't quite get Nicks character as he seemed to be a bit of an afterthought to Hayden. I think I would have enjoyed this book more if it was from Dual POV as there seemed to be a lot more to unpack with Nicks history.
