Miss Teacher hates children, except when she likes little boys a bit too much - until Puppet wants to play.

This was so fun. I'm always up for revenge on pdfs. It was gross and nasty but so satisfying! Gore filled, gross-out, hilarious, loved it!

Crab buffet, anyone?

Another fantastic depiction of gore and gags from Ryan. I cannot fault you as a writer. I can no longer eat peanut butter.

We follow Blister Betty—a teacher with a horrifying secret: she does unspeakable things to young boys. And when the absolute worst kind of evil oversees a daycare, a very familiar, very terrifying doll shows up to help these kids take a stand.

I am never eating Skittles again. Seriously. No.
PB&J? Didn’t have strong feelings before… now I’m ruined.

Powell has a disgusting (and weirdly impressive) gift for describing the most grotesque things in disturbingly vivid detail. The way she writes about blisters, STDs? Awful. Effective. Permanently burned into my brain. Thanks for that.

Also… want to know the weirdest thing? I consider this a palate cleanser.

There’s nothing like an extreme/splatter-punk horror to pull me out of a reading slump, but Christ, this one was so intense and dark. It has a very similar plot to the first book Dollface. All the TWs you could possibly imagine, it made me feel physically sick, despite being rather well-written.

I might need extra therapy after this one

RJ dared us to see if we could get through the audiobook in one seating, I took her up in that challenge, one thing I can say is that holy shit, I wasn't ready for that.

After reading a couple of her other books and reading and loving Dollface, I thought I was prepared for this

one.

Babe.

I was NOT ready for that!!!

Fast-paced, full throttle from the get-go, I had to pause it within the first few minutes to make sure no one else could hear what was playing in my ear Jesus Christ!!!!

This is a fast-paced, splatterpunk revenge story that is NOT for the faint of heart. And it made it even better with the narrator!

If you enjoyed Dollface, you need to check this one out. But maybe not while surrounded by people or while eating

"Why Though? 2: Reloaded"

At least these are short, and the person getting hurt for the majority of the book deserves it. RJ Powell is probably the only person who hates vaginas more than Aron Beauregard.

Also, that is NOT where Skittles go, that is NOT where Legos go, that is NOT how you play Scrabble and that is NOT how you make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

Ohhh blisters Betty .. how I despise the things you have done but I am here for a damn good revenge. I’m not going to lie, these were the most depraved and disgusting books I’ve ever read but most entertaining to date. The rating coming in at how disgusting these are but don’t let it fool it bc I’m not going to hide the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed them and was so entertained. This one might of ruined PB&J for me though 🫣

This was on par with Dollface, although I probably enjoyed Dollface more. Some great imagery in this book though, and I will never look at a PB&J the same way again 😬

I can get enough of this series! It may be short but it hits hard! A doll is at it again and this time seeking revenge on a nasty-nasty woman. Peanut butter may be ruined for you along with other foods! I ate this up! Absolutely loved it! Can’t wait for more!!

Again I enjoyed every minute reading this with my girls LIVE! It was intense.

Check your triggers …let the gagging commence!

“Evil deserves to die regardless”

Ooof Ryan J. Powell knows how to write some really nasty stuff. This was extremely entertaining but extremely gross. Just what I want from a splatterpunk book. If you like splatterpunk or gross out stuff, highly recommend this.

I went into this not having a clue what is was other than a 2nd book to doll face. I mean it’s exactly what it’s suppose to be- disgusting, twisted and gross. (I’ve read worse) but this was pretty disturbing! Read it in about 30 mins, so yes it’s a very , very short read. I mean, I’d love to have a chat with a person whose mind can go so dark! I find it fascinating that you can be classed as a ‘normal’ person after writing things like that haha.
But yes. If you enjoyed reading doll face, you will like this one too

I read the first book and could not get over how messed up it was…but here I am, reading the second one and having the same reaction and thinking ‘why did I put myself through this again?’

Only 2 stars from me because of that, but hey, give it a read and maybe you’ll enjoy it more than I did.

And here we go again. R.J. really had me questioning every life choice that led me to this book. I thought Dollface was messed up. I didn’t know it could get worse, but here we are. It’s gross, had my stomach churning, and yeah…I had to put it down and take a breather. But it was so worth it. Dark, disturbing, and exactly what I want in a quick splatterpunk read. Definitely recommend if you’re into the messed up stuff.

Miss Teacher despises children. Their noise. Their need. Their sticky hands and endless questions. Yet there's something about them that keeps pulling her in, especially when it comes to Charlie. Her fixation grows more distorted by the day. What Miss Teacher doesn't know is that somewhere nearby, Pip is waking up. And when Pip is ready to play, Miss Teacher loses.

Not the Skittles and peanut butter!! Puppet is uncomfortable from the jump, and honestly... it's supposed to be. Miss Teacher is the kind of character that makes your skin crawl and Powell doesn't sugarcoat the evil she represents, or what's done to her. And then there's Pip. The horror doesn't let up, but the power shifts. It's messy, unsettling, stomach churning and chaotically good. Will never want peanut butter sandwiches or Skittles again! This is an extreme horror story so please check your trigger warnings! Stay tuned for the third book!

Summary: Miss Teacher hates children, but loves them all the same. Especially boys. Especially Charlie. Until Puppet is ready to play.

Review: This is the second in the 'Dollface' series, and it is just as disturbing, disgusting and gory as the first. Exactly what an extreme horror is meant to be.

If you are a fan of extreme horror, definitely give these a try!

Gross. Twisted. Horrific. Uncomfortable. But all in the best way. I love a good revenge story and a good splatter story and this has both in spades. Give this a read if you like your horror messy and gory.
