His entire life Ethan has been keeping his more violent urges a secret from his family. They all think he is just antisocial, what they don’t know is that every day he struggles not to give into his growing desire to kill. Looking to escape for just a little bit and hoping that a change of scenery will help him, he agrees to join Isabelle and Stefan in Bermuda.
What he doesn’t expect is for Emma to walk into his life and change it in ways that he had never anticipated. Just when he finally begins to find some peace in his life, a dangerous threat from Emma’s past arrives. Ethan is willing to do anything to keep Emma safe, even if it means giving into the brutality that he’s spent his entire life fighting against. Giving in a little though, may mean giving in for forever, if he is unable to bring himself back from the darkness that has always enticed him.
***Due to mature content and language this book is recommended for readers 18+***
The first book in this series, Awakened, is free. Each book in this series is a stand alone novel.

Brenda K. Davies is the USA Today Bestselling author of the Vampire Awakening Series, Alliance Series, Road to Hell Series, Hell on Earth Series, and historical romantic fiction. She also writes under the pen name, Erica Stevens. When not out with friends and family, she can be found at home with her husband, son, dogs, cat, and horse.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
I want to start by saying that I am in love with this series. I actually like this book much better than the previous two. There a few reasons why.
Reason number one is the characters. I loved Ethan from the very beginning. His hidden turmoil is tumultuous and striking. His struggle is one that I believe is one that would haunt many humane vampires. The fear and the desire intermingling is a struggle that is humanizing. Emma is simply a beautiful soul that has had a rough time. She doesn't let it determine her path in life, but it has definitely changed the way she looks at things.
Reason number two is the story. This was an interesting twist on a storyline. I won't give it away, but the twist regarding Emma's past is not something I saw coming. I am usually a very intuitive woman and I totally misread where Brenda was going, in a good way.
Reason number three is the continuity. The reintroduction of several characters was nice and not totally in your face. It was in no way a continuation of the previous two books, but a nice tag-a-long to this one.
One of the reasons that I love Brenda Davies/Erica Stevens is her character development. She really knows how to make a character come to life. Not only in her physical descriptions but in the dual POV's (which I love). A very wonderful addition to the series.
I discovered Brenda K. Davies almost two years ago when I downloaded Awakened for free on Amazon. When I finished it I immediately bought Destined, the second book in the Vampire Awakenings series. Untamed is the much anticipated book three in the series. It features Ethan, the oldest of Liam and Sera's children.
Trapped in a darkness none of his siblings can understand, Ethan decides to visit his sister and brother-in-law. What he didn't expect was Emma. A fresh from college young woman with a past that threatened to destroy her. Ethan must risk letting the darkness consume him so he can find his light.
A MUST read for all paranormal fans, but I suggest you read Awakened and Destined first so you can really reach into Ethan's heart and understand his struggles and inner turmoil better.
This series is so good, I'm loving it. This is book 3, and so far I have not been disappointed at all. This like this first 2 books kept my attention completely. I would highly recommend this book to anyone over 18. This book is full of the most intense love and devotion, as were the first two books. They are also full of violence, and sex scenes. The characters are very well developed, as is the story line. I think it's going to be fun watching to see all the different abilities that the pure blooded vampires develop. Also which one of the family members falls in love next. This is going to be a massive vampire family lol.
I really wanted to like this one but it was incredibly boring. The h's friends were the generic characters you see in every book. They wanted to party, drink and basically tell the h that the cure to everything is sleeping with a hot guy. PLEASE, stop this stupid trend. Girls are not like that!! We are smart, sophisticated, classy, responsible, and very complex. Encouraging the kind of behavior we see in this book is stupid and dangerous. Anyway, I was not feeling the H or h. They were just meh.
Man or monster? It's the question Ethan constantly asks himself as he battles with murderous urges whenever he's around humans. He and his family are all vampires, but not all vampires are alike. His family are pure bloods. He and his siblings were born into a family of vampires. They didn't have to be turned like those that aren't pure bloods. And they can do things that other vampires can't, like being able to tell if a vampire is a killer of humans or not by their smell. This sin't a normal vampire trait unless you're in their family. Ethan decides to get away on a vacation of sorts for a while with his sister and brother-in-law (Isabelle and Stefan). They are disgustingly in love with each other while Ethan wonders if he will ever find his mate. Since he is traveling down a path that could lead to him turning into a crazed monster, he highly doubts it. Then he meets Emma while on his vacation. She's a very sweet and kind girl, and a human. Ethan has always made it a point to avoid humans, but this one won't let him go and he finds himself entangled in a very complicated relationship that is quickly spiraling out of control. Things go from crazy to insane when Emma's ex turns up and he's not what anyone expected. It turns out that Tristan has changed quite a bit in the last year and not for the better. He's bound and determined to take Emma back, but there's no way Ethan will ever let that happen. Even if he has to let the beast out to protect his mate. Hopefully afterwards he can put it back in.
This third book in the Vampire Awakenings Series can be read as a stand alone or as a part of the series. It's another fabulous read by Brenda K. Davies with a great story line and hot immortal vampires! There's nothing like a good story about a guy who is seriously conflicted and constantly hiding it from the world, including his closest friends and relatives. I also like how he misjudged Stefan and Ethan finds out that there are others who have struggled just like him with the impulse to murder humans. The blood lust in some seem to be uncommonly powerful. Ethan comes into contact with some of these vampires and they help him get through this trial while he tries to figure out what to do about Emma. She and her friends find out by accident what he is and she has a hard time dealing with it for a while. Through it all, one thing is certain though and that is how they feel about each other. But she has to choose whether to act on these feelings or not. If she does, she becomes like him and they are together forever. If she doesn't, she destroys him. How much of a sacrifice would it be to give up her life so she can regain a new one with the man she is supposed to be with?
This one wasn't my favorite, I still like book 1 and 2 better, but that being said, it was still a really good read and still 5/5 in my opinion. I liked the addition of some of the characters from Book 2, I won't say which because I don't want to give away spoilers. But it was fun seeing the mature and how the characters are developing from book to book. Seriously in love with this series! -------------------- Reading a 2nd time and I like it more now, and excited we get more of Brian in this one!
------------------- Third time re-reading the series because it's my favorite series/spinoff series, and I have to say I really enjoy this book now, Stefan and Brian are still my favorites but seeing them in this story really helps build their characters even more. And 3rd time through, I love Ethan more now.
The next installment in this huge vampire family was good. Set in the tropics, there was plenty of suspense and romance. Four glittery stars for a great read!
WOW!! There is nothing better then a well written erotic Vampire Romance story. "Untamed" fit this bill. The story is about a vampire named Ethan on vacation in Bermuda to visit his sister Isabelle and her husband Stefan. We meet thses Vampire characters in bk. 2 of the Vampire Awakening series.
Jill and her recently graduated college friends Emma and Mandy are vacationing in Bermuda when they meet Ethan, Isabella and Stefan. There is an immediate attraction between Jill and Ethan. It so strong that Ethan recognizes it as Jill being his soul mate. The romance and banter between the couple is sexy, erotic and very endearing. I Love the build up to there courtship and eventual love making. Very Hot sex scenes.
However, Jill's Ex Stalker boyfriend Tristan is also in Bermuda,. He is back after a year MIA stalking Jill and is determined to have her. This makes for an exciting Cat and Mouse adventurous story. The story is very fasted paced I read it almost in one setting. The suspense was killing me as to how this would all end. Especially how Jill would find out that Ethan and his family are Vampires. There is also, a slight twist and surprise to the story that I sort of new was going to happen, but I wasn't sure until it happened. I Highly Recommend Untamed and the entire Vampire Awakening series by Brenda K Davies!!
I was hooked from the very first word! Ethan is dangerous & sexy, yet protective and sweet. He is dam near perfect, expect for his need to kill which he tries so hard to contain. Emma is sweet and innocent and unprepared for her instant attraction to Ethan.. Having just come out of a very unhealthy relationship the last thing she is looking for is to jump into another one with a sexy man she just met... The last thing Ethan wants is to get close to any human let alone one that has taken over his every thought.. when they can no longer deny their attraction to each other, Emmas past comes back to haunt them.. will Ethan be able to contain the beast inside? Will Emmas love be enough to bring him back? This is an amazing book that can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest picking up the other 2 in the series, Awakened and Destiny. They give you more background info on the other characters..
Since reaching adulthood Ethan has been fighting the overwhelming urge to act on the darker side of being a vampire. He fights this with all his might. To give in would destroy not only everything he has fought so long to maintain but also his self respect, he already hates these aspects of himself and he has never acted on them. his siblings would know and he would risk his relationship with his family. He's on a downward spiral when he agrees to meet his sister Izzie and her husband Stefan on the island of Bermuda, there he spots Emma, who he finds himself immediately drawn to. Can they fight the clock and each of their demons and how will Emma react when she discovers that Ethan is a vampire.
This book is Ethan's adventure. It's sexy, romantic and has plenty of fast paced Vampire drama. We get to see the power of a pureblood vampire. It's well written
Holy cow! It is hard to so far in the series which is my favorite, but dang this book with sexy Ethan and Emma was off the hook! I didn't take sweet, over protective big brother Ethan to be a bad ass, but did he prove me wrong! I'm leaning on that this book is so far the best in the series. You have a crazy ex, sweet and obnoxious friends, an intense love interest and some wicked bad-assery, if that's even a word. I can't wait to read the next one!
I received this book from the author for a honest review.this is the third book in the vampire awakenings series and defiantly one of the best. I must admit how much I loved the characters in this book. This book is about Ethan's story and his struggle to stay in control of his inner demons.
This was a wonderful addition to this series. I love all of the characters. The books keep getting better and better. I only hope to get a book about the stooges pretty soon.
Ungezähmt - Vampire Awakenings - Buch 3 von Brenda K. Davies
Hurra!
I don't know if I can accurately explain just how much I loved this story. Mrs. Davies has created a paranormal world that I am now utterly addicted to. I have read a great deal of paranormal romance stories and/or series and this has easily taken the lead as my favorite of all time. If it were possible, I would love to jump through the pages so I could become a part of the Byrne family! I honestly didn't think any couple could make me love them as much as Liam and Sera did but my heart completely belongs to Ethan and Emma. Ethan exuded a raw sensuality and strength that quickly ensnared my attention and never let go. His devotion to those he cared about was so endearing. He carried unimaginable strength within him that would terrify most yet he never let it take over until there was no option but to tap into it. I hated the negative way he viewed himself. But the potential soul mate within Emma was created to purposely bring him some balance. Emma always felt like something was missing in her and that she was lacking in some way. But even through that, she exhibited a spine made of steel with a heart made of warmth and an infinite ability to love. There was so much about her that I could easily relate to. I really admired the relationship she had with her friends. I know without doubt I will return to this story over and over again. I can't wait to see where this author takes us as we see each member of this amazing family find their soul mates and battle to find their HEAs.
Ethan is going to see his sister and Stefan in Florida for a vacation for a month. He has weird appetites when it comes to carnal nature, he is wild and wants to kill for blood. He has not told anyone about this problem. He struggles with it on a daily basis. When he gets there, they meet Emma and her friends while out one night. She soothes the beast that lays within Ethan. He is taken with her, but she is human. He starts spending time with her and knows she is the one. She had a bad relationship before Ethan and they broke up one year prior. It now looks as though he has followed her and is causing problems. There is a catch…he is just like Ethan~ Ethan will have to call in some heavy-duty help because there is a horde of vampires to fight! What happens to Ethan is another surprise~ This is the third book in the series and action-packed! Another great story in the Byrne series! I received this book for free and am leaving a voluntary review.
Ethan risked a lot to visit with Isabelle and Stefan in Bermuda.. 6 months have passed.. But then he meets Emma, and everything else fades, including his demons. Emma had a stalker ex boyfriend and her friends Mandy and Jill, are protective of her.. She starts getting gifts delivered and assumed they were from Ethan.. except they were from her ex who has been turned, and is not happy she is seeing someone else, and he has brought friends..
Ethan tells Emma that she is his mate and everything that is required for them to be bonded.. but Tristan kidnaps her and he is shocked that a purebred vampire protecting his mate will break every known rule on vampires to save her..
Another fantastic book in this series! It’s Ethan’s turn. Ethan has held back his blood lust from his entire family his whole life. He’s avoided humans and sequestered himself away from life by staying back on his families property. All that changes when he decides to join his sister and her mate for a month vacation. Emma is ready for her month long vacation with her two best friends to begin. They’re all done with college and ready to head out into the world. A little fun in the sun is a must before that happens. She’s ready to relax after her past few years with her ex exploded in her face. The first time their eyes meet across the bar, the bond is instantaneous. Neither can deny the pull. But she’s a human and his blood lust is strong. They’ll have a battle to go through before happily forever after could even begin.
I'm glad I kept reading this series and didn't give up on it all together. I finally found a book I actually liked. This one still has a lot of the same problems with the writing that the first one did, but the author was finally able to touch my emotions with this one. I laughed, I cried and I celebrated right along with them.
I think one of the main things that bothers me about this series is the fact that all of these vampires seem to be living and have plenty of money, yet we don't know where any of the money came from. In this book we finally learn where the blood bags are coming from, but I have to say that the explanation didn't cast a good light on their way of living.
After a world tour honeymoon, Isabell and her new mate Stefan are in Bermuda. Missing her family, she invites her brother Ethan to join them. Due to his lifelong fight against his vampire urges, Ethan has always stayed away from humans, but his first day there Emma walks into his life
Emma and her two friends have saved and scrimped to rent a house in Bermuda and are there to celebrate their graduation from college, but Emma’s past follows her.
Footnote: 1) My kind of girl. I’m a history major also and love dancing in the rain. After all only the wicked witch melted in water.
2) Having shopkeepers and waitresses flirt with the handsome guy in stories and getting cliché.
Fave scenes: fishing with Ethan, dancing in the rain, Ethan’s gift to Emma, the freak storm on the beach and breaking the invite barrier.
This book was better than the last one. I liked that we got more history on the vampires. The characters were likable and had chemistry, her friends made good side characters, and even Stefan was a totally reasonable character in this one.
I found a lot of grammatical errors (they’re/their, lots of misplaced commas, strangely worded sentences) and again found the POV style to be jarring and detached, I would highly recommend this book get some heavy editing. I got this story for free on Amazon, I would say it’s a solidly “okay” read but I don’t see myself purchasing the rest of the series.
Ya know, it's definitely interesting to see what a pure bag would do if their mates threatened. I do wish that they showed the siblings talking about what's going on with them better. Because judging by the next book there's going to be so much confusion for this one kid, so if he'd only been able to talk to his brother etc but stuff whatever. I think it's really cool how fast he found his mate. It was basically no hesitation whatsoever lol. Overall pretty. And like the other books there were a few things that I was low concerned about that weren't tied together properly. But I mean you get that with anything right?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Ethan is one of my favorite characters because we get to see what a purebred vampire is like at full strength. And it’s definitely fascinating. Make me wish vamps were real. A girl can dream right.
Ethan is unyielding in his love for Emma so much so that he is willing to die just to make her happy. And because of how twisted Ethan is before her he brought a peace he has never known once he has her. I truly enjoyed this book.
This book was a lite read about Sera and Liams son Ethan and his mate Emma.. and I really enjoyed it.. Vampires, mates, drama, smut and some action what's not to like!? I love the family Sera and Liam made and getting more of their family's story.. I feel like every book keeps getting better and better as you get to know and love all the Characters.. So far so good I'm looking forward to reading more!
I absolutely love this series. This author is amazing and I always look forward to reading what comes next. Ethan was never a monster he just needed his missing piece of his heart to be complete and Emma gives him that. Her best friends are also a great addition to the story. This series I could read over and over and never get tired of the story or characters.
