This is a solemn, compelling mystery revolving around the murder of a young girl in the late 1930s, and the story surrounding the victim's necklace. The story unfolds in a slow but spare manner, with clues and other information about the characters revealed for maximum effect in a natural, but suspenseful way.
This short story was a quick easy read. I love descriptive writing and this story recounting the memories of a murder that occurred during her childhood by an elderly dying woman had just the right balance to create the setting without being overwhelming. I enjoyed it and would rec it to others.
