It. Off.” Then sets on fire their adoptive family and the asshole they were gonna married her to!!

Literally everything was the same. A different MMC but the same personality. A different FMC but also the same personality. Even the shaboink scenes were the exact same.

I can overlook the fact that Lakynn (18) never stands her ground when it comes to Riven (20), but that's only because he's a total goner for her. She was just like all the other FMCs I come across in dark romances who claim to hate (but really still love) the MMC but then give in so easily when he comes back into her life. 🤷‍♀️

Anywaaay, Riven's unhinged behavior and love for her were the highlights that made me enjoy this one. I really looove me a faithful, obsessed, devoted man who wouldn't hesitate to burn the world for his girl. 🤭💖 If this isn't your guy, then you're probably with the wrong person (jk). 🤣

Very formulaic. The writing is perfunctory.

She belongs to me…on repeat.

I live for her…on repeat.

He left me…on repeat.

Good girl…on repeat.

No attempt at characterization, apart from he’s obsessed and she gets pouty and likes to be chased. He’s not too smart: he falls for his adopted father’s very obvious lie that if he turns into a killer, then leaves when he’s told to leave, he can have the FMC, his sole reason for breathing. She’s not too smart: when he returns to save her from marrying a toad, she sulks and runs away.

Casual violence, with a side gig of arson (they might have deserved it, but I didn’t need to watch it.)

I suppose if a reader just wants to scratch an obsessed killer itch, this novella gets down to business without a lot of frills. But I like frills, and this book contained zero fresh ideas or nuance or originality or even an interesting turn of phrase.

Riven and Lakynn are adopted siblings who immediately felt a connection when they met. Riven knew she was his and wasn’t letting anyone hurt or touch or speak to her in anyway shape or form. That was his woman and he was making sure everyone knew. Their parents didn’t love this so they had them separated leaving Lakynn to be alone and tossed into an arranged marriage. Well, once Riven found out they backed out of the deal, HE WAS GETTING HIS GIRL!

When I say Riven was obsessed I mean OBSESSSSSSSED. Lakynn was obsessed too yet more in a way of actually belonging to someone who just wanted her. She was so perfect and her watching him kill people and just standing there like a badass queen. Ugh love her.

For my safety people, completely safe. Riven is a virgin. Even during the separation he mentioned how it was only Lakynn or nobody. Lakynn is a virgin too. There is other man drama in the form of her fiancé but Riven and herself handle it.

Impatiently waiting for my mans Tristan book and hearing about his obsession from Riven’s pov was everything. UHM LONDON SNOW I NEED SEBASTIANS BOOK RIGHT NOW!

Lakynn and Riven are so cute from the very beginning of this novella this man NEVER played about her and this fake ass family was sickkkkkk they couldn’t come between them until they did😪 . It’s okay tho because Riven came back and avenged his girl as he fucking should that’s a king right there👏🏾

Let’s talk about how Lakynn was a feisty fmc and I’ll forever give a book kudos for not having a weak ass fmc I need a strong girl that stand on business right alongside her man it was just chefs kiss🤭 my only con is that I wanted it to be longer lmaooo.

This is a novella in the Castlebrook University series. I adored it as much as I adored Book 1.

Riven and Lakynn were adopted by a mafioso family to be used as pawns in their lives of crime. Riven to be trained as a hit man; Lakynn to be sold as a virgin to enhance their connections.

Love blooms between these two. Riven swears to always protect Lakynn. Their adopted father sensing his plans being jeopardised by Riven's possessiveness of Lakynn, sends him away to Castlebrook University. To convince him to leave, he promises him Lakynn. Lakynn is oblivious of this deal and thinks Riven has abandoned her.

When Riven realises that his adopted father double crossed him and is "selling" Lakynn to the highest bidder, he loses his ever hating mind and all hell breaks loose.

It was this side of one day ago I was crying into my pillow over the very same boy standing in front of me right now. I try to pull away, but he catches my wrist in one swift movement. “Don’t,” he breathes. His grip is firm, but not painful. He brings my hand back to his face, holding it there like it’s the only thing keeping him together. “Please,” he whispers, eyes fluttering shut as he leans into my palm. “Touch me. Please.”

This novella is part of the Kings of Castlebrook series, but you can read it on its own! I’ve been tackling some pretty heavy books lately, so this one was the perfect palate cleanser. The story revolves around Lakynn and Riven, who are adoptive siblings. They were taken in by a wealthy and influential family during their teenage years. Right from the moment Riven first saw Lakynn, he was completely smitten with her, and they quickly became inseparable. But then one day, out of nowhere, Riven mysteriously left without saying goodbye.

What I love about Lakynn is that she’s got a backbone. When her adoptive parents try to force her into marriage, she stands her ground and fights for her freedom, even attempting to escape a few times. She’s such a fiery character, and I admire her spirit! Riven, on the other hand, is emotionless and unhinged; he doesn’t care about much except for Lakynn. Once he finds out she’s being forced to marry someone, he does everything he can to come back and protect her. He makes sure those who mistreated her pay for their actions.

The ending was so cute, and I loved it! Some side characters caught my interest, and I hope they get their own stories someday. If you’re in the mood for a spicy novella with a hero who’s obsessed and would do anything for his girl, then this book is definitely for you!

Burn it Down was a short novella in the Kings of Castlebrook series and I won’t lie, I wish it had been a full length novel. But we can’t always get what we want. Well unless you’re a London Snow hero apparently.

Riven and Lakynn have a chemistry that defies nature and when they’re separated and Lakynn is sold to the highest bidder, Riven will do whatever he has to do get his girl.

“You’re mine,” he tells me. “No one else’s. No one touches you. No one even looks at you. I don’t know how to exist without you, Lakynn. I’ll make you see it. Feel it. You’ll never doubt it again. I won’t ever allow it.”

Lakynn has only ever loved Riven and the two of them literally burn down their world to be together. I liked Lakynn but the story wasn’t long enough to really get a feel of her entire personality. And Riven was OTT and murderery but he loves his girl so 🤷🏻‍♀️. And Lakynn wanted him any way she could have him.

“I want you, Riven. Raw. Unfiltered. I want the real you.”

Short, sweet and steamy!! There’s so many characters I want stories for 😂😂.

Usually 3 stars for me means I didn’t like it but that’s not the case here. I just couldn’t give it anymore stars because I needed it to be longer. We were told so many things rather than being shown and I feel like if this were more fleshed out it would be a 5 star read.

I did like the characters. Riven is unhinged and if you touch Lake you literally die. I liked that Lakynn had a smart mouth on her. I loved when she talked back. I just don’t get why she would run toward the place she was trying to get away from, that’s the only part that didn’t make sense to me. Again I just wish we had some more info in this book. Would have been cute to have some flashbacks of them even though I usually don’t like those. They weren’t together for long enough in the book. There’s like 30 minutes left when they find each other again and as obsessed as he is I needed to see them together more. Anyway looking forward to the rest of the series.

Getting to go back to the world that London Snow is building was chefs kiss. It may have only been a novella but I’ve been missing this world and ate this book up.

Lakynn and Riven were everything I needed them to be. They both were completely obsessed with each other and I go feral for a man who is disgusted with the thought of another woman touching them besides their woman.

The absolute possessiveness these characters had over each other, perfect. I love nothing more than to read about an MMC who is absolutely unhinged that anyone even looking at the FMC has them plotting revenge. This novella was the definition of if he wanted to he would and yes, he would burn the world for her.

If you're in need of an insanely unhinged, OTT, obsessed hockey player, then this is PERFECT for you. Riven is actually psychotic... and I love him for it. London literally writes the most DOWN BAD, obsessive men and it's exactly what I want. He literally burned IT down for her. 👌

This definitely went in a much darker direction than I was expecting but I can't say im at it. I could have read a full length book about them honestly. I feel like we got to meet some new characters that *hopefully* will be getting their own stories! 🫶

This was such a great little novella! Riven and Lakeynn have been adopted by the Kozlov family but they are far from anything remotely resembling siblings. They’ve had this intense pull towards each other since the first time meeting and Riven has taken on role of protector to her, he’s absolutely obsessed with her and feels like the world isn’t right without her. What neither of them realises is that their adoptive dad is using them both as pawns.. which leads to some very unhinged moments by Riven. Especially after he gets sent away to Castlebrook without Lakeynn. He’s away for 6 months on the premise that he’ll be able to return to her once he’s done what his dad asks…. Although it doesn’t exactly pan out like that!
He will literally burn it all down to keep Lakeynn safe, and he really means it. Lakeynn has always wanted Riven and no one else and when the moment happens that he claims her as his? Epic! I love the way London rights her men obsessed to the oblivion - they’re always such a fun read and completely morally grey but SO SO good! 😊
Another great read, if you want something that you can knock out in a couple of hours because you physically cannot put it down, this novella is for you!
