Accidentally Yours

Rate this book
Cammie has had one hell of a night. Her long-time abusive boyfriend pushed her to the limits and then a freaking wolf hit her car. While clutching a bag of frozen peas to her swollen eye she manages to rescue the animal and make it home. But what’s she do with it after that?

Ian can’t believe his luck. After a stupid decision he’s been run out of every shifter territory he’s entered. Hoping Coyote Bluff would be different seems to have been his downfall. After a bunch of coyotes chase him through the night he finds himself being coddled by a tempting woman. His canine half is already in love with her.

Cammie’s ex comes calling, Ian’s found out by the local Alpha and the town seems bent on keeping them apart. Can they fight against everyone at once to find happiness together? Better question would be will Cammie accept Ian once he admits to being the wolf she so readily confided in and nursed back to health?

Lea lives in Western New York with her hubby, three children, and miscellaneous critters. Before the rugrats, she lived a life of adventure, following her husband all over Europe with the US military. She’s slept in a car outside Paris, drove six hours just to see tulips in the Netherlands, and knocked ash from her shoes at Pompeii. Now she spends her time in life’s adventures at soccer games, PTA meetings and school plays.

Lea has loved reading from a very young age, spending many sleepless nights devouring books. Science fiction and paranormal were her favorite genres to read as a teenager, and that love bled into her adult life. She started writing during a bout of insomnia, to fill time, and found it filled a creative void. Now she communes regularly with the characters in her head and tries not to laugh out loud when they say something funny.

When Lea isn’t reading, writing or corralling kids, she enjoys watching movies and sciencey shows, or just kicking back and listening to some music.

I was given Accidentlly Yours for the purpose of a review. I was beyond excited to get my hands on this book and I was not disappointed with it. Accidentally Yours is one of the best Paranormal Romances that I have read in a long time.
Cammie moved to Coyote Bluff, Virginia for a fresh start after her father had passed away. She had not been there long when she became involved with Ron. After weeks of dating Ron something happens that changes their relationship that forces Cammie to make drastic changes. On her way home one day she is struck by something that changes her life in a way that she is not aware of.
Ian has lived in Coyote Bluff for over a year, but has avoided people for personal reasons. He meets Cammie one day without her knowledge. He becomes a vital part of her life and she does not even know it.
There is so much to say about this book because of how awesome it is but I am deciding not to do it because I do not want to give anything away. Once you read this book, you will not only fall in love with the wonderful characters but with the characters that will be in future books.

3.5 Stars!

Cammie is a human female who finally leaves her abusive boyfriend only to get sideswiped by a huge wolf hitting her car on the way home. Unaware the wolf is actually a shifter, she takes him back to her house to care for him and nurse him back to health.

Ian is running from a pack of coyotes when he injures himself by hitting Cammie’s car. He is drawn to the human female and is angered at the abuse she suffers at the hands of her ex. Because of her tender actions, he heals under her care and finds himself yearning for her touch and for her heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read! The plot is well-developed and the banter between Cammie and Ian is humorous and realistic. Cammie tries to resist falling for Ian, which coming out of an abusive relationship is a hard thing to do. But his tender actions and fierce devotion eventually wins her over, and you can’t help but root for them to get together.

The only drawback to this book is the amount of grammatical errors throughout the story. With another read through, many of them can be caught and easily fixed. I would have given the book a higher rating if they had not been so numerous. Despite the errors, I recommend this book for those who enjoy paranormal shifter romances, and I will definitely look forward to the second book in the series.

I was gifted “Accidentally Yours” for the purpose of an honest review. I was beyond excited to get my hands on this book, have a chance to be a first reader and I wasn’t disappointed. “Accidentally Yours” is one of the best Paranormal Romances that I have read in a long time. Brief Synopsis: Cammie moved to Coyote Bluff, VA for a fresh start after her father loses his battle with cancer. Second day in a new town, Cammie meets Ron. After a few weeks of dating Ron, the pink puffy cloud of romance has lifted and true colors show forcing Cammie to make drastic changes. It is truly a day of change, change in her vision, life path, relationship, and literally hit head on with new prospects. Ian came to Coyote Bluff for a new start as well. He is not a people person. When Cammie and Ian’s paths cross, he knows she is the one. Cammie is a Good Samaritan and is unaware of the impact a full moon, dark roads and a kind gesture will change her life forever. I don’t want to reveal too much and be a spoiler. Lia draws you into the story in the first chapter, the story moves fast. Before you know it, you are engrossed in the book. You will fall in love with the wonderful characters and are introduced to new ones that will be spotlighted in future books in this series

I have to say… I don’t love the cover… but I got over that really quickly.

I went through a phase of reading a LOT of shape shifter novels. (Um… I’d generally choose shape shifter over vampire any day, BTW.) I have to say… I love that this one starts really differently than any others I’ve read before.

For about 1/2 of the novel Ian is “stuck” in his wolf form. Cammie has no idea he’s a shifter. She just falls in love with this wolf. He’s just this big furball that she can take care of while he makes her feel safe and protected. While the reader can be in Ian’s head with his thoughts and feelings about Cammie… she just confides in him and vents and cuddles like you would with your loved pet.

I loved the back and forth bantering between Cammie and Ian (both before and after she knows he’s a shifter). There’s a real lighthearted easiness between them that you can’t help but fall right into. It says Vol1… and I can only hope the next book is just as fun as Accidentally Yours.

There are so many things to love about this book that I fear I'll not be able to name them all here! Immediately I'm drawn into the characters, loving to hate on the antagonist and wanting to know more about the lives of all the others. Soon I am treated to just that - all the while a bit of mystery and romance, drama with a helpful dose of humor thrown in are going on. I ended up speeding through this book as a result of my inability to put it down; now that there's no more to read I am eagerly looking for more of this series - Barrymire has made me a fan, and she made it look easy. My favorite part of this book is that it takes place in a small town - I love the general atmosphere and the close-knit community. The story is generally well written as I spotted only a few minor errors.
Highly recommend this read.

ADRI'S REVIEW:

Thank you first off to N K Author Services for providing us with a copy of this book so that we could bring you this review.

Ok Im going to start this off by saying I am not usually a fan of paranormal stories, I'd been intrigued by it though from the description and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. I like Cammie initially fell in love with the wolf (which she names Titan), even though I and the rest of us know that he in reality is a shifter, the tenderness of the wolf is so sweet. Once Ian is able to show himself he too shows Cammie how tender he can be as well as protect the woman he loves. It is a wonderful shifter story and was able to capture my heart (a non-paranormal reader)

There was a very sweet lesson that is hidden in this story though... at least that's how I see it. No matter what mistakes you make in the past you can find redemption.

I really enjoyed reading Accidentally Yours by Lea Barrymire. There is action, drama, and lots of love that kept me turning the pages. Cammie is a funny, sweet, strong lady. She really is a great character full of lots of spunk mixed with the right amount of vulnerability.
Ian I adored his character. He is strong, both in body and heart. He also has his weaknesses but they are enough to make me really fall in love with him.
What I really loved is how Ms. Barrymire spins a story with heart and soul. Makes me want more and gives me a love story I just could not put down. There is a lot of really great story building in this book. This is a great start to what promises to be an amazing series. I hope that there are many more stories in this world. I cannot wait to read more. Bring on the shifters.

This was an unique book in the paranormal/shifter romance genre and at the end of the day I think I both loved it and I didn’t. By the end I was conflicted and I’m not even sure this review will make much sense but I’m going to purge myself of my thoughts and we’ll see where it goes.

Cammie has just left her abusive boyfriend and she’s heading home on a deserted road when an injured wolf runs out and hits her car. Not knowing what else to do she drags the poor animal into the backseat of her car to try and get it help. Against her better judgement of course because who in their right mind puts a wild animal in their vehicle? Especially a ginormous wolf.

Ian was minding his own business when he got cornered and nearly killed by a bunch of rogue coyotes. Having been run out of every town because of a stupid transgression years ago, he’s tired of running but the coyotes don’t care to hear his side of anything. Now he’s injured and being drug into the back of a very attractive woman’s car. To complicate matters even more, he’s stuck in animal form until his wolf form heals enough to endure the transition.

Let’s start with the wonderful writing that Lea Barrymire can accomplish. The story is fluid, well rounded and detailed enough not to have any plot holes and to keep readers interested and wanting to know more. I enjoyed the fact that Cammie wasn’t your typical stick-thin heroine and she had no problems telling it like it is. Her mouthy attitude coupled with her insecurities made her seem more like an everyday woman that we all know, rather than a woman who couldn’t possibly exist in the real world.

Where I got hung up is that Ian was stuck in wolf form for the majority of the book. Of course all the other shifters in the town know who and what he is but Cammie, being human, has no idea that the wolf who is watching her walk naked to the bathroom is a red blooded man. There is a LOT of internal dialogue as Ian starts falling for the woman but tries to talk himself out of it. Cammie spends a lot of time talking to the wolf, which is a one way conversation with the exception of his strangely human facial expressions and his ability to understand her with ease. While I thought the scenario worked at the beginning of the book by the 30% mark I wanted Cammie and human Ian to get together. Ian does have the ability to dreamwalk into Cammie’s dreams which helps some but still…it’s a dream…not real. I wanted real bow chicka wow wow shenanigans and I was denied for much of the book.

The side plot of Cammie’s abusive now EX boyfriend and his threats to her make for an interesting read and heightened emotions. Even in wolf form Ian comes to her rescue several times. I enjoyed the action Barrymire wove into the story and thought the ending was fitting to the characters.

There is also some interesting side relationships that I am incredibly eager to find out more about. I am looking forward to coming back to this town in the next release!

I give Accidentally Yours by Lea Barrymire 3.75 stars!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the first book in the Coyote Bluff series. They will need to be read in order.
Both Cammie and Ian have escaped their pasts to make new futures in Coyote Bluff, Virginia. Cammie is running from the heartache of losing her father. Ian is hoping to find a new pack after a bad decision caused him to be banished from his old pack. When some of the local shifters decide to chase him away, he runs head-long into trouble …and Cammie’s car. Can they find peace in this unusual town? Can Cammie accept the man who was the wolf? Will Ian be able to protect Cammie from her abusive ex-boyfriend?
I loved the first line of the book: ‘“You’re such a dick. I’m out of here.” Cammie sobbed as she yanked open the front door.’ I was hooked and could not stop reading. Terrific characters, including villains you can love to hate. The story was well-defined and moved at a quick pace that kept me involved. I swear I could smell the mountain air and feel the wolf’s rough coat!
I absolutely love this story. I wasn’t half way done and I already knew I wanted to read more in the series. I first became aware of Ms. Barrymire when she assisted Mr. Vile with his book, Breaking Sabrina. This is the first book I have read from Ms. Barrymire, but it won’t be the last!
'I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review'
Cammie moved to Coyote Bluff after her dad passed away looking for a fresh start. Not long after she got settled she found Ron. At first he was everything that a girl could want. A real charmer. Then he started drinking and with the drinking came the abuse. The night she decides to fight back a wolf runs into her car. She doesn't know what to do so she takes him home. Now her ex won't leave her alone and she keeps having dreams about her wolf. Dreams that make her think that he is more than just a wolf.
Ian made one huge mistake in his old pack and he has been run out of every territory by every pack since then. He was hoping that Coyote Bluff could be different until one night he is attacked by a group of Coyote Shifters. After he runs into Cammie's car and she takes him home he can't help but fall in love with her. She is a potential mate to him and he intends to keep her. First he has to protect her from her crazy ex and try to get the pack to accept him.
My Opinion:
I really liked this book. There was definitely a different spin on shifters finding their mates. I found it to be a page turner that I did not want to put down. Lea is a new author to me but I will definitely be looking to read more of her work. I really would like to see what else goes down in Coyote Bluff! I definitely recommend reading!
Cammie is heading home to cut her loses for the day after being attacked by her abusive boyfriend. What would anyone want after this kind of day, a hot bath or to assess the events and relax maybe? That just wasn’t in the cards for her tonight. She hadn’t quite made it home before an animal comes out of nowhere and rams into the side of her car. Imagine her surprise when she ultimately finds out it is a wolf. It doesn’t matter because Cammie has a soft spot for animals, which is good because the wolf has a soft spot for her.
The characters are likable. Cammie has a good heart and a level head on her shoulders. She is stronger than he seems. Ian is a wolf shifter and just wants somewhere to start over and it looks like he may be about to be run out of another town. I enjoyed how Ian was in wolf form for a good portion of the book. It made the feel of the shift romance different. With so many shifter romances out there, different is good. I did expect more odds stacked against them to make it to the end, but it was good story regardless. You could feel the connection between Ian and Cammie. The secondary characters introduced are interesting and have you looking forward to the next in the series.
If you are looking for a shifter book with a little sizzle and heart. This book is a good place to start. I received this book for an honest review.
I love having a change from my normal contemporary reading, and when I fancy a change it almost always vampire or wolfs. So when I was asked to read Accidentally Yours I was intrigued. And it didn't let me down.
Cammie is upset after a fight with her boyfriend and on her way home, a wolf runs into the side of the car. She stops to help and tries to get this wolf into the car. With the help of her friend, she manages to get home and gets the wolf into her home. And then things get a bit strange.......
The story and characters were well thought out. And ladies it contains Hot alpha types..... LOTS. I love IAN.....
This story is really good. And if like me you like a wolf story you will really like this one.
I really liked this one. It was fast paced and funny with some suspense thrown in.
Both of the main characters were great and fun to read about. They both had issues yes. Cammie was in an abusive relationship but she still managed to be strong and walk away. She's very feisty and had me cracking up more than once.
Ian also has made some mistakes in the past. They weren't 100% his fault but he's trying to move past them and wants to settle down and have a home again. I love how protective of Cammie he is. Him in wolf form also made me laugh.
They are great together and I hope to get more with these two in the future. The secondary characters were also a lot of fun and I can't wait to read their stories.
It has been quite awhile since I read anything paranormal/shifter, Accidentally Yours was the perfect book to jump back into the genre!
Ian is so protective of Cammie, even in wolf form. I like the way this is written and that most of the book Ian is in wolf form. We get to see his side of the story through his "wolfie" eyes. Cammie is so much stronger than she thinks, it's nice to see her discover that side of herself as the story moves ahead.
I enjoyed getting to meet the characters of Coyote Bluff. Knowing this is going to be a series, I can only guess as to who else will get a story-line. It will be fun to find out.
Accidentally Yours is a sweet, playful, and sexy romance novel. It is the story of Cammie, her (ex) boyfriend Ron, and her new love Ian. The story starts with Cammie leaving her boyfriend Ron and running into Ian. Their story starts out a little slow while building the back story, but quickly takes of with lots of playful bantering, teasing and sexual tension...building to a HOT climax (plot climax, that is).
This book is well written and has interesting characters with a great deal of depth. I cannot wait to read the next book!
If you are looking for a different twist on a romance novel or are into paranormal romance, this is the book for you. I rate it a solid 4 stars.
I think I'm going to like this series... This was a quick gem of a shifter story, about Cammie & her wolf, Ian/Titan. : ) There was some heavy material concerning her ex, but mostly this was a fun romp and introduction (for me) into this shifter town. I was a little confused by the set up for the next book (there wasn't any weird tension between the main characters for that story in the beginning of this story, but then about 1/2 way through it was like their back story had changed - so... not sure about that, but guess I'll find out in their story?!). But the banter btwn our MC's here was very well done. : )
A shifter story unlike any other I've ever read.
An abusive ex has Cammie on the run when a wolf runs into her vehicle. Worried for the animal she takes him home to take care of him. Unaware that the wolf is actually a man, she speaks to him as though he is her best friend.
Run off from every shifter community after making a huge mistake, Ian tries to make his home in Coyote Bluff. Not able to resist shifting into wolf form, he is chased by local shifters and runs into a passing vehicle, knocking himself out. Awakening to find himself being tended to none other than his mate.
While there were a few weak spots in the overall plot- I really enjoyed the characters in this book, making it easy to overlook the insta-love (which I'm used to in a shifter book with the 'recognizing your mate' thing, but she was in an abusive relationship, so I didn't agree with her ability to find love so quickly). Suspending that personal opinion, an excellent plot, good pacing, and loved the main characters. Lots of potential for more good stories in this series.
Good read with the potential to branch out for several other stories
Nice development of believable characters. Good story line with enough steaminess to keep it interesting but not over the top. It left me wanting to meet more of the other characters and learn their stories as well.
This is a first book in the Coyote Bluffs series. Cammie, a human, has moved to Coyote Bluff, Virginia after her father dies. Cammie meets a handsome local, Ron. Slowly it turns abusive. She has had enough when her ex-boyfriend beats her yet again. Cammie hits back and knocks out Ron the ex-boyfriend. She leaves his house and on the way back to her home she is broadsided by a wolf fleeing coyotes. Fearing she killed an animal and damage to her car, she stops. It takes a lot of effort to load up a hurt wolf into her car.
Unbeknownst to Cammie, she has saved a wolf shifter. She brings him into her home and they bond. Ian is a lone wolf that has moved to Coyote Bluff to start over after being thrown out of his old pack.
The local vet comes over to help care for him. Ron the Ex-boyfriend wants Cammie back and revenge.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was fun yet suspenseful and a sweet romance. I am SO looking forward to the next book in this series.
This was my first introduction to author Lea Barrymire. Cammie and Ian are so fun together. Cammie had her eyes totally opened in being introduced to the shifter world. Very fast paced book, with good plot and character development. Can't wait to finish reading this series. 4/5 cross posting to My Reading Reality and Amazon
I'm conflicted about this book. I thought the premise was very interesting and could have been a unique read. I actually liked that she met him in wolf form. I think that was original in a genre that has a lot of accepted constants. However, for the drama of the premise, I think it lacked a bit in depth. The characters were cute and lovable, if a bit static. Maybe it's just me, but I felt like there was little to no character development. I didn't get to make any of my own deductions about the character. Everything about each character was stated outright, which I found kinda boring. All in all, a cute and easy read, but not one that I connected with that much. To me, it was just a little too short for that.
Accidentally Yours starts out really different than any shifter books I've read in the past.
I have to say that I like that alot. For about half of the story, Ian is "stuck" in his wolf form till he gets well. Cammie has no idea he's a shifter and she nurses him and takes care of him. Ian as a wolf try to show her that he is as innocent as a dog cause he doesn't want her to be afraid of him. He realizes that she is his mate so he does everything he can to get her to trust him as a wolf. Cammie starts falling in love with the wolf and she hopes she doesn't have to give him up.
Once Ian is able to shift back he shows Cammie how tender and concern as well as protective he can be as a man.
I really got pull into their story and I liked both characters. There is so problems they need to over come and it was done well. I will be looking for the next book when it comes out.
