3.5 RATING- Light on story, heavy on sex! Well written, a few laughs. Cathryn Fox definitely knows how to write a hot steamy scene. I enjoyed it but can't rate it higher because there just wasn't much to work with outside of the sexy bits. Definitely worth a read if you're short on time and looking for some sexy fluff. I plan on reading the next novella in this series when I need something lite.

Received an ARC for review

Oh yeah, smokin' hawt fireman. This was a great novella. It just needed to be longer. There are two more friends to go, and all three of their stories are in the book, Hot Line. Now I wish that phone number worked around here.

Whew, what a fun and scorching hot read! Ms. Fox never fails to dazzle by combining an engaging plot with lots and lots of sexy bedroom steam.

Sara Jack is a reporter for the Gazette, a very local paper in her hometown of Trenton, Iowa. She seeks bigger pastures and would love to write for Entice, a trendy publication based in Chicago. Being in The Windy City to attend her best friend's wedding, only makes the idea even more attainable. In the midst of all the wedding happenings and enjoying her two week vacation, Sara meets and falls for Mitch Adams, a groomsman and firefighter.

Mitch loves his job and the men he works with are like his second family. He is a known playboy, yet the chemistry he and Sara share is beyond anything he has every experienced in the past. Sara is the first woman that has truly cared about his desires and needs. She wants him, not just a heroic man in uniform. Their passion is more than sensual and sexy, it is amazing.

Overall, this is a well-written novella with two main characters that I really enjoyed reading about. I can't wait for the second book in the series.

Fever by Cathryn Fox is one hot little read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Fever and didn't want it to end. Fever kept me entertained throughout the whole book. The characters were witty and interesting. Sara and Mitch are wrong for each other and both are warned to stay away from the other. He's a no strings playboy and she's the small town girl, who's only in Chicago for a short period of time. Sara gets a business card that's from The Hot Line.....which is a number where women call to get get assistance from a sexy firefighter, who knows how to take care of a woman's body. I absolutely loved the idea of this!!! The dialogue had me laughing at some parts and when I wasn't laughing, I was crossing my legs from the all the hot sex scenes. One of my favorite lines has to be "My ex-husband thought fellatio was something you ordered off the dessert menu at Applebee's" Will definitely be re-reading this book over again.

This book includes a multitude of steamy sex scenes, so if that's not your thing, this book probably isn't for you. If you like hot sex with a sexy fireman, however, this is your book. All of that being said, the book does have a story line, but was dominated largely by sex. Sara is in Chicago for her best friend's wedding. Mitch has been warned to stay away from Sara, the small-town girl with a potentially fragile heart. All bets are off, however, when she calls the Hot Line. This was a sweet, sexy, HEA romance. I enjoyed watching Sara and Mitch's relationship transition quickly from just sex to something much, much more. After reading this book, I am definitely interested in reading the rest of the Firefighter Heat series.

I loved it! I honestly don’t know how she does it. She has a way with words that not only moves you but captivates you in a way that the world around disappears and you become fully emerged into the world of the story. The types of stories that keep you reading until you finish all in one sitting because your so drawn in that you can’t put it down are rare gems and should be treasured. She is one of those rare authors that have the amazing talent and gift to create these rare gems. I am proud to have been granted the pleasure of reading this amazing piece of work, I am highly anticipating when I can get my hands on the next book in the series. I am even more proud to have had the honour of meeting her and to call her a friend.

Nothing this short, should be so sensuous and engaging. And as naughty as it is, I still felt like characters were nicely developed. Very sexy. Very well written. Definitely recommended.

Gostei imenso!

Sweet and sexy. Although I would have to admit that there are times that I think the steamy stuff is too much as I think it comprises almost 20 percent of the novella , but nonetheless, it wasn't cringeworthy. I also think that this one ended too soon and I hope that the next novellas would wrap it up for me or something.

Fever (Book 1 of the Firefighter Heat Series) by Cathryn Fox was definitely steamy, but lacked depth. I wish there was more character development and more of a plot. I have read other books of hers that I really enjoyed, but found this one to be okay.

This is a fun, quick, entertaining read. This is a high spice book and a good story. Mitch and Sara are fun, entertaining, intriguing, relatable characters. Fox packs a lot into less than 100 pages. The story is easy to read and get into.

I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrator.

This very short one was okay. I liked the characters Sara and Mitch, and the chemistry between them was very steamy, but I felt like there wasn't much to the story except for sex. I would have liked for the book to have been a little longer so that there could be more character development as well as more fleshing out of the storyline.

Cathryn Fox - Fever

Sara Jack. Reporter.
Mitch Adams. Firefighter.

Chicago. 3rd POV. Instalust. Away for a bff wedding. Erotica. Romance. Contemporary.

Wow! This one is good, too good. My kitty purred at every mention of Mitch Adams. His dirty talk, his sensual act. Welcome to my favorite hero list Mitch! My newest book boyfriend.

The writing style is sooooooooooo good, detailed but not over. When overdetailed description in erotica sometimes made me cringe in disgust, this one makes me tingling all over. Why? Because it includes many different and creative seductive art that i've never read in any book. Small gestures really, but some keypoint that nailed it to every woman fantasy. So u would in for a little surprise gesture here and there, that so small to be a grand gesture, but usually left out by many author, then when u read it here u are wondering why the hell other authors dont write it like Cathryn Fox did. Such a small but important gesture, which usually passed over because the insignificant quality over the whole act. But when it mentioned, the smut would be all over on different leaguage altogether. So creative and observant!

I also love the heroine, Sara Jack. Despite over and over being called the girl next door, i only the inner vixen she is constantly showing. She owns up her sexuality, on control of her own satisfaction, and while surrendering herself to be taken care of, she is not exactly silent partner. She participates and takes initiative to heighten both sides satisfaction level.

This book builds on its strong characters. For such a novella, sure Fever gave me so much enjoyment and satisfaction during short time it takes to read it. Seductive, sexy, scorching hot, the flame Mitch and Sara created burnt me to ash. Despite rather common storyline, the characters and writing style made this book earn 5 stars while made it to my favorite list.

Review can be read at It's About The Book

This is a racy, straight-up sexy erotic novella that takes you right into the action as firefighter Mitch Adams shows his moves to small town visitor Sara Jack, who’s looking for a fantasy in the big city.

Mitch and all the other firefighters at Chicago’s station 419 took turns answering desperate lady’s calls on the “Hot Line,” a special phone number they’d had hooked up in their station for women to call who needed a hot firefighter to come and take care of their “needs.” He’d given up answering it because he’d gotten burned, getting tired of women only wanting him for his image as a hot firefighter and never wanting to love the real man beneath. It had been fun at first, but now he longed for a woman who’d really see him, the man underneath. It wasn’t worth it anymore, even for free sex, to be treated as an object.

Sara Jack was tired of living in the boonies in Trenton, Iowa, working for the local paper. Visiting Chicago for her best friend’s wedding, she was determined to write a great piece that would get her noticed by Entice, a new, cool, Chicago-based magazine for “strong, sexually empowered women.” She’d noticed hot firefighter Mitch Adams–a friend of the grooms–and while attending a party at the The Hose, she’d heard about the hot line. After being assured that he was one of the firefighters who answered it, she decided to kill two birds with one stone–call Mitch….and get her story and her needs met at the same time.

When her plan works, Mitch can’t help but fall for Sara, despite warnings to avoid her from his friend, the groom Nick. But when he finds her article, describing her night with the hot firefighter, he feels betrayed. Is Sara only with him because of his job…not because of who he is inside? Is the past happening again?

Find out by reading this short, sexy novella. You won’t be sorry!

Phew! This is one smoking hot read. That title perfectly fits as the action between Sara and Mitch is feverish from the start. It also reads like innuendo bingo from the first page, so if sly remarks about hoses, kitties and more firefighting references than you can shake a stick at isn’t your thing, you might get annoyed by it. I mostly found them funny, though sometimes at inappropriate moments – there’s a whole kitty resuscitation conversation that was far more silly than sexy, but that might just be me.

In fact despite the super hot scenes that dominate this book, overall I found this cute. Mitch isn’t the bad boy he’s been accused of being and Sara isn’t quite as wholesomely small-town as some people think. There’s a great amount of chemistry as they trade fantasies and push things beyond just a one night stand.

A short, sexy read with lashings of heat. If you want something with the heat turned right up, but without any deeper emotional turmoil, then you can’t go wrong with this one.

Fever

My actual rating of the story is 3½★. I definitely would have rated it a solid four stars had it been longer but I'm rounding my rating up because I enjoyed the story.

Mitch, the consummate playboy, was felled by Sara, the small town girl with big city ideals. The pace of their relationship is fast and occurs over the span of a few days. The pair fulfill each other's wildest fantasies and then their emotions come into play. Sara discovers that the real Mitch is much deeper than the charming player facade he cloaks himself in. He is sweet, passionate, and looking for a deeper connection with a woman. A connection he finds with Sara. A mild misunderstanding threatens to tear the fledgling relationship apart but Sara recognizes Mitch's hurt for what it is and she understands instantly what he wants. She instantly reacts to quell Mitch's ire which places the relationship back into calmer waters.

From the reactions of Sara's friends, it's clear that a bit of matchmaking trickery has occurred but it's sweet.

Another scorching, sexy read by Cathryn Fox. Sara is a reporter, looking for the story to make her career. Mitch is a sexy hot firefighter who can't take their eyes off of each other when they meet at a bar.

"Mitch had a raw sexuality about him that screamed of sex, sin and… danger . Sara shivered. Almost violently. Surprised at just how much his carnal edginess aroused her."

When Sara gets a card to call The Hot Line, a line to get her own sexy firefighter to offer some "assistance", of course she has to call. These two smolder on the pages of this book. This may be a short read, but it was sexy and filled with laugh out loud moments.

“What you really should be asking is, does he know his way around a vagina? Because the last guy I dated couldn’t find my G- spot without a compass and detailed direction’s from Google Maps.”

I can not wait to read the rest of the series. More sexy firefighters? Count me in.

ARC Received from NetGalley for honest review

This was the first time I had ever read a book from this Author so I wasn't really sure what to expect.

I will say that it was a bit different writing style than I am used too but it didn't deter me from enjoying the story at all. I found it to be a really fast, easy read that flowed effortlessly.

The story line was catchy and hot although at times I found it a bit too rushed for me which made it a little less realistic for me. That being said all of that was totally forgotten about when I reached the sex scenes. Holy hell were they hot! By far some of the hottest scenes I have ever read which pushed me to just read faster and faster.

All in all this was a quick enjoyable read and I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Sarah is a small town reporter who has come to spend time to spend time with her friends with her family. She has decided that she wants to write a steamy article that will get her noticed and make her career better. While hanging out with her friends. They introduce her to the Hot Line a phone number you can call when you are in need of a hot man.

What Sarah doesn't know is when she calls the Hot Line the man that picks up is Mitch the hot firefighter she meet at the bar when she was hanging out with her girls. Mitch has the major hots for miss Sarah and he is willing to put the moves are her.

The wishes and desires she has created some amazing and steamy scenes. This was an amazing novella. This was a new author for me. I really like this author.

I recommend this book for anyone willing to try a new author.

I have to say I enjoyed this. There wasn't that nasty fight where communication didn't happen and if it did life could have been easier. Mitch and Sara showed just how to communicate.

Mitch is a hot fireman who is used to one night stands. That's all he wants. Sara is from a small town and just wants to be happy. When they first see each other their chemistry fires rapidly. After one phone call and one night together they can't get enough.

Like I said it was a good read and it's quick too.

Short, hot steamy read with a naughty fireman I loved it. Mitch he's all about fixing Sara's 'kitty' problem, "tell me, Sara. How long has it been since your kitty has purred?" Sara is not a shy girl she goes after what she wants and is bold while doing it, "maybe seeing you naked will help with the resuscitation." Sara gripped his shirt and tugged." Mitch sometimes has to tell his girl to slow down, "keep that up and my tool will run out of power before I get started. And I don't think your kitty wants to wait while I have to recharge." I really did enjoy this book.

OK, so not too much to say here except it's HOT and quick and easy to read. I liked the story and I also liked both Sara and Mitch. The story was engaging and the sex was HOT ... what more can I say about a book this short without giving you a play by play? Not much.
If you're looking for a satisfying HOT quickie, this book will work for you!

Thanks to NetGalley for the Advanced Copy

It was quick read. It only took me only a day to finish.
This was different from other books I have read.
I wish there was little more at the end between Mitch and Sara.
I felt it was bit rushed at the end. But it was different from All the billionaire bachelor stories.

Hot, steamy, sexy short story about a fireman, what's not to love? I wish it was just a bit longer since she was in town for two weeks it seems that two nights is just not long enough to set up a forever ending.
