She never saw him as more than a friend—until he became her fiercest protector.
Princess Arianna of the Casqueton Islands has always known her path: serve the crown, raise her young daughter, and honor her family’s legacy. Romance? That was for another life—before heartbreak, before widowhood, before her days were filled with palace duties and carefully planned appearances. And certainly not with Byron Boone, her childhood friend turned royal bodyguard.
The Boones have protected the House of Woodville for generations, and Byron has always been loyal—steady, quiet, safe, and completely off-limits. But when threats against the royal family grow too close to ignore, Aria finds herself leaning on him in ways she never expected. And suddenly, the man she’s always trusted starts to look a lot like the man she can’t stop thinking about.
Now, with danger lurking in the shadows and sparks flying between them, Aria must choose between the crown she was born to wear and the love she never saw coming.
Full-Time Princess is a heart-stealing royal romance filled with slow-burn heat, emotional depth, and a bodyguard no princess can resist. Perfect for fans of forbidden love, protective heroes, and second chances at happily ever after.
I was gifted an ARC copy of Full-Time Princess, but this review is 100% my honest, unfiltered thoughts.
Taylor is a new author for me, but absolutely one I'll seek out again! Full-Time Princess was fantastic!
The opening lines are fabulous, and I was instantly hooked. Totally gives grownup "Princess Diaries" vibes, and the Princess Bride references gave me life!
There are a few scattered typos, and some continuity issues (timelines of how long someone has been a widow, which car is being used, what's being served for dinner, etc.), but they don't detract from the story at all.
The characters are so fleshed-out that they felt real. I want Gabrielle to be my new best friend - I felt like she was curled up in the chair next to me half the time.
Definite "he fell first" scenario (one of my favorite tropes). I love how obvious it is that Boone knows Aria better than anyone, just purely from caring about her for so long.
There were moments of suspense, drama, and intrigue, but there were also moments of comedy, adoration, and pure joy. If you're still debating, stop thinking and read the book. I promise you won't regret it!
Despite being the second book in the series (but my first), I had no problem keeping up. Can absolutely be read as a standalone.
Spice is on the page, and I'd call it a 3 on the spice scale.
I read this book as an ARC and I am really glad I signed up for it. This is the second book in an interconnected series but can be read as a standalone. However, I now NEEEEED to go read the first book, I’m invested!
My rating of 4 stars is based on a couple of things in the book that detracted from the experience. First - the POV switches in the same chapter is jarring. I, personally, like individual chapters for each POV. It was hard to remember the switch happened and I had to back track a few times to catch myself up. Second - the jump to the spice was a bit quick.
The story is presented and fleshed out beautifully. I love a friends to lovers trope and this book also throws in “bodyguard to lovers” at the same time, so double win!
I will definitely be recommending this to friends and followers.
I got this as an ARC from a new to me author. Overall, this was a 4.5 star read for me. There was alot to love - the small island country, a female set to be next in line as the ruler, friends to lovers and two great MC's - Princess Aria and Byron Boone. Their families have been intertwined since the founding of their country centuries ago. I loved the backstory of the Princess and Byron being childhood friends - and Boone's duty to the crown just as strong as Princess Aria's. One of the main storylines - while "resolved" in the book - left me wanting more and that the end was a bit rushed. There were a couple other minor side stories that could have been explored a bit as well. The other characters in the book were lovely - I have already added the first book to my TBR - because I'm invested now and I'll be on the look out for more! While there was a minor "break up" I appreciated the lack of drama around it (not my favorite romance trope) and the open door spice was good - but we also didn't sit in on every encounter - which we as the reader can make up what we want! While it's the second book and can be read as a standalone - go get the first one now so you'll be ready for release day!!
An excellent romance with a nice touch of suspense that is hard to put down. You find when reading you simply must know what is going to happen next. You can't just stop reading, you have to know. That is the sign of a gifted author. The writing here just captivates the reader.
The romance is an excellent romance that will fulfill all the dreams and wishes of the romance reader. It is also believable and fun too. The romantic interludes are ahem spicy but that just adds luster to this lovely romance.
The suspense part of the story is brilliantly crafted and keeps the reader guessing. It is very interwoven into the romance so that one scene just flows with the other.
The character development is top notch. My fave character has to be little Princess Ellie. She is precocious and cute and just adds a light and joy to the story every time she appears. The author really captures the innocence of childhood and is able to convey it in a wonderful fashion.
A great read for every fan of romantic suspense. My first time reading this author and I was extremely impressed. A very well-written book that should be a bestseller.
I enjoyed this one. It’s the first book I’ve read by the author, but it won’t be the last. I’m not typically a fan of royal romances, but this one was done so well. I liked that both Aria and Boone were responsible adults and conscious of the weight that they each carried for the royal family. This book also had two of my favorite tropes. I loved that Boone fell for Aria first, and I also loved the bodyguard aspect. The author did a good job of fleshing out the characters, both the main ones and the side characters. And it’s made me eager to read more in the series. The book had drama, intrigue, light moments and lots of romance. It was well written and well worth checking out. Recommended.

This was a weird one for me. It wasn’t good or bad to me, it was really slow but I eventually liked it. Not a bad book, the characters were okay and the story got better as it went on.
