The first thing you have to know about this book is that it has a sequel - The Council Woman due for release in January 2026. As such be prepared to read both books or you'll be left hanging at the end of this one.
A different type of offering from this writing duo this centers on main character Kari Anne who is plagued by something she did in the past to enact revenge on wrongdoers. The sibling of one those people appears to have continued unabated in harming women who either disappear or supposedly commit suicide. How has he managed to keep getting away with these crimes? Who does he have in his pocket? Will she manage to stop him or does she require the assistance of a specialized team of people? 4 stars
