A Place Where You Loved Me

Love knows no Bounds

Every November, in the town of Morrigan, something phenomenal happens. For ten days, a mirage appears in the sky—a complete replica of Morrigan, floating upside down above the tiny Washington town.

Myles is a man at odds with ambition. For him, it’s all just another excuse to bar-hop with his friends and continue his daily routine of... well, nothing.

But life is great for Myles—or so he believes. He’s got his toxic, on-again, off-again relationship with his high school sweetheart (currently off-again), an endless supply of liquor, and his simple life as a handyman in the small Pacific town he never plans on leaving.

And then, on the first night of the annual festival celebrating the phenomenon in the sky, a mysterious woman approaches Myles—with an impossible familiarity.

Over the span of ten disorienting nights beneath a mirrored sky, Myles finds himself consumed by this strange visitor and her outlandish claims of a life they’ve shared—a life Myles knows can’t be possible—all while battling the sudden resurgence of dreams and memories of a past he’s fought to bury, along with the traumas that made him the man he is today.

A Place Where You Loved Me is a story of complicated love, inhibited grief, and the difficult journey of healing.

This book had my emotions all over the place! I had a lot of fun reading this and I think it’s so different than anything I’ve ever read before. I loved the concept of the kind of “alternate reality” vibes and I think that’s what kept my attention the most. I didn’t guess the twist and it really did have my mouth on the floor. Outside of these elements, the romance was really cute and I felt like it was real. Overall enjoyed!

Thanks to Jasmine for an ARC <3

This book is fantastic! I ate it up in less than 24 hours. The timing, the twists, the familial relationships and the character growth is *chefs kiss*.

The magical realism within the book really added a point of wonder and curiosity and kept me engaged the whole time. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this book and BRAVO to Jasmine Cartwright on her Adult Fiction debut.

Love, unconditionally!

“I was your beloved and you were mine.” Myles is grieving the loss of three people that was close to him. We witness the ups & downs of grief as well as the effects of unhealed trauma & toxic relationships. “The girl from the bar. Where did she come from?” Jocelyn and Myles' journey stirred a spectrum of emotions—angst from Myles’ haunting memories and longing, and the raw discomfort of necessary conversations that paved the way for healing, for them. The magical realism wove wonder into the story, leaving me entranced by the beauty of the unknown. Although it was rocky, Jocelyn & Miles were able to stand the test of time, which reflected the validity that love is unconditional. “They gave each other a fractured kind of love—real, raw, and all they had.” Also, the plot twist blew me away… I did not expect it! What a read!!

I read this book a few months ago and it still sticks with me! Everything about this was amazing and refreshing and took me through SO many emotions! I still need to send an author a bill for my therapy because the twist had me TWISTED.

No ordinary love!

You know it’s real when love transcends space and time. Myles and Jocelyn’s story blossomed with an intriguing second chance aspect because unconditional love never dies. Even if you don’t remember it. Once again, Jasmine Cartwright weaves a tale of love through a story of impossibilities. LOVED!

If you’ve read Jasmine Cartwright’s first two book, then you know she’s going to have you laughing, crying, possibly even angry throughout the entire book! A Place Where You Loved Me did just that for me and then some. I was hooked just by the dedication alone! The way she delicately chose her words to tell a story surrounding different forms of grief. Oh and if you’re expecting a YA, A Place Where You Loved Me, it’s not, not in the slightest—which I loved to see a different side to Jasmine’s writing!

A Place Where You Loved Me by Jasmine Cartwright is an absolutely breathtaking, emotional sci-fi romance that completely blew me away. The concept of an upside-down city appearing in the sky every November created such a magical and melancholic vibe that I couldn't stop reading. I loved Myles's raw character arc and watching him face his past trauma, heal from his toxic habits, and navigate the mysterious connection with this strange visitor was so deeply moving. The blend of surreal speculative elements with super realistic grief and love made the story feel unforgettable. It’s an easy 5-star read that will definitely leave you crying, thinking, and wishing you could visit the town of Morrigan yourself!
