Rosie: The rules were keep love out of the picture, survive the summer, and go back to my life. Easy enough—or so I thought. Then I met Alex. The infuriating, sexy cowboy with a smirk that could weaken the resolve of any woman. Turns out, I’m no exception.
I came to Sunrise Ranch expecting peace and quiet. Maybe even a little time to recharge. Instead, I got stubborn, arrogant, and determined to push all my buttons. And trust me, he’s an expert.
We argue constantly—teasing, challenging, sparring like it’s some kind of game. He’s the most irritating man I’ve ever met. His worst quality? He’s too damn attractive for his own good.
I’m not his type, and I’m definitely not interested. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself. But the more we clash, the harder it is to ignore the spark between us.
I’m only here for the summer, and I have my reasons for keeping my distance—very far away from him.

Alex: I’ve never had trouble focusing on my work. Until she showed up.
Rosie doesn’t belong here—her fancy clothes, sharp tongue, and city-girl attitude scream out of place. But she’s so damn tempting, it’s all I can do to keep my hands off her.
Every challenge she throws at me, every sharp remark, just fuels the fire. She drives me wild in every way—her stubbornness, her fire, her everything.
I should stay away. I know that. But the more I try, the harder it gets. She’s in my head, under my skin, and every argument only makes me crave her more.
I want her closer. With me. Beneath me.
I want all of her—her lips, her laughter, her heart.
And this time, I’m not backing down.

A book with no plot point, characterization or story telling. Just 400 pages of high school level dialogues, complete with appallingly juvenile approach to romance and physical intimacy. Skipped whole chunks to slog through and didn’t miss a thing.
Not for me. Nope. No stars.

Saddle and Bound (Sunrise Ranch Series Book 1) by Valentina Iania is a sizzling and heartfelt cowboy romance that pulls you in with its slow burn, crackling tension, and beautifully layered characters. This book is the perfect mix of humor, heartache, and heat, delivering everything you’d want from an opposites-attract, enemies-to-lovers story.

Rosie and Alex’s chemistry leaps off the page from their very first interaction. Rosie, a sharp-tongued city girl trying to escape her past, is full of wit and determination. She arrives at Sunrise Ranch expecting a quiet summer to regroup but instead meets Alex, a maddeningly sexy cowboy who knows exactly how to push her buttons—and relishes doing so. Their banter is electric, teetering on the edge of flirtation and frustration, and it’s impossible not to root for them, even as they stubbornly resist their growing connection.

Alex is the quintessential cowboy—strong, stubborn, and maddeningly charming. His confidence and rugged charm are matched only by his surprising vulnerability, which slowly unfolds as he realizes Rosie is not just another passing attraction. His pursuit of her is equal parts tender and passionate, making him a swoon-worthy hero who’s impossible to resist.

The enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity tropes are expertly handled, creating moments of both hilarious tension and heartfelt vulnerability. Rosie and Alex’s journey feels authentic, as their relationship builds through small gestures, stolen glances, and the kind of meaningful moments that make you believe in their love.

The ranch setting is a character in its own right—vivid and atmospheric, it provides a perfect backdrop for Rosie’s journey of self-discovery and healing. The balance between city-girl-meets-country-life humor and heartfelt introspection keeps the story engaging and dynamic.

For fans of slow-burn romance, this story delivers in spades. It takes its time, allowing Rosie and Alex’s relationship to develop naturally, making their eventual connection all the more satisfying. The themes of love, trust, and vulnerability are woven seamlessly into the plot, leaving readers with a sense of warmth and hope.

If you’re a fan of cowboy romances with sizzling chemistry, strong-willed characters, and a love story that feels both passionate and real, Saddle and Bound is a must-read. Rosie and Alex’s journey will leave you laughing, swooning, and maybe even tearing up. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a good enemies-to-lovers romance with a cowboy twist!

Spice: 5 🌶️

I discovered this author thanks to a few girls on Bookstagram, and once I started paying attention, I realized so many people were talking about her books… and I couldn’t be more grateful I gave her a chance!

I instantly fell in love with the vibe, the playful banter, her writing style—and I’m already obsessed with all the characters! I wasn’t even halfway through the book when I immediately bought Dusty, a novella from the series, and applied to join her street team!

I’m absolutely and completely in love with this series, and I can’t wait for July to come—because Unmasked is releasing, and it sounds even hotter and more exciting than the first book!

If you’re into: enemies to lovers, hot cowboys, sizzling chemistry and a summer-perfect vibe (yes, the FMC goes to spend the summer on an Italian ranch!)… do you really need more? Oh, and there’s a one-horse trope too! 🤭

I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader for this book!! Saddle and Bound is the first book in the Sunshine Ranch series and it will leave you wanting more …..

If you love a Cowboy Romance, this one will not disappoint.

I want to move to Sunrise ranch and hang out with this bunch of characters!! Valentina describes the ranch and the characters in such beautiful detail you transport into the story from the get go. The 2 MC’s are brilliant and their groups of friends are amazing too. The group chats they both have are hilarious.

The chemistry between the 2 MC’s from the beginning is on fire!! Be prepared to go on a rollercoaster ride with Rosie and Alex as they challenge each other, and push each other boundaries.

I could not put this book down, it brings you on a journey of fun, adventure, love and friendship. A journey of finding yourself and what makes you happy takes place, both characters go on a personal journey along the way.

Valentina, thank you for following your dreams to bring us this beautiful story . I cannot wait to read the rest of the series and any other books you write.

Definitely a 5 star read with some spicy scenes too!

2.5 stars out of 5.

I still enjoyed this book, but it wasn’t great, I feel that there is better out there. Considering it’s set in Italy, it feels very American. Also, it’s very repetitive, especially in the beginning where it feels like certain parts are copy and pasted into both povs. As for tropes, it felt like it was trying to be too many different things, where certain plot points weren’t cleared up at all, especially when Max comes into it, that just felt pointless. As per romance, it was cute, but the smut was not smutting at all!

Saddle and Bound by Author Valentina Iania

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It follows city girl Rosie, who arrives in a small town in Southern Italy, to spend the summer holidays with her father at The Sunrise Ranch where he works, with intentions of surviving the summer and returning to her life in LA. That’s until she meets the irresistible and infuriating cowboy Alex. Stubborn, Sexy, arrogant and with a smirk that makes all Rosie’s resolutions to fade away.

I was totally hooked from start to finish 🤭 The plot was so fun and well written. There wasn’t a single moment where I lost interest. The pranks , challenges, arguments, the adventures, their love story…….just about everything about the plot was enjoyable.

I couldn’t get over the way Alex loved Rosie, how much he believed in her and encouraged her to believe in herself, listening attentively when she spoke never missing a word , always seeking permission before going to far, reassuring her whenever she had the slightest doubt ,taking care of her and always making sure she felt comfortable and at home.

Rosie was the true definition of brave, always up for a challenge and never letting her fear consume her. She was always so patient with Alex, always communicating her feelings and her doubts.

Their love made me smile, swoon, cry, laugh and swoon some more🥹❤️

The side characters were simply perfect. Loving and supporting each other like the true family they were.
I especially loved Chris omg, I’ll love to read about his love story with Valentina.

The graphics at the end of some chapters was such a beautiful addition. It aided my imagination🤭

So thankful to Valentina for giving me an ARC of her first book!!

This novel is a small town, cowboy, enemies to lovers and I loved it! Valentina is a first time author but already her book and future books are rising to the ranks of Elsie Silver! I absolutely ate this book up. The banter between the characters had me smiling, and the chemistry between Alex and Rosie is palpable!

I felt like I really connected to Rosie, she’s a nervous and cautious people pleaser who is trying to figure out her dreams and place in the world, and Alex just tries to support her the best he can. Such a beautiful story and really sweet.

I’m so so thankful I got to befriend Valentina on bookstagram and continue to support her on her journey as an author ❤️

I’m a sucker for a good cowboy romance and love getting the chance to experience new writers I haven’t before. As a debut novel this fun loving enemies to lovers small town cowboy romance really paints the scene with a fun loving series in the making.

I loved the text threads w both the boys and girls, all the added pictures for those special moments and the witty banter between the two main characters.

I think there is so much room for growth in this setting and can’t wait to see where Valentina takes us next. I did find the writing to be a tad choppy (pacing) and wasn’t connecting to the characters like I tend to do when I really love them. They felt a tad unrealistic to me in some areas with the disconnect.

It’s still great for a debut and excited to see what’s to come from this author!

4.5 stars rounded up for Goodreads

I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to read an ARC copy of this cowboy x city girl romance, which I struggled to put down.

I really enjoyed Rosie and Alex’s love story. They felt like an excellent fit for one another and were both so supportive.

I liked the romantic tension they started off with and enjoyed the pranks they pulled on one another. I usually prefer a slow-burn romance, so their instant love felt a little fast for me, but it didn’t take away from their relationship as a whole.

This story had so much depth and emotion, and it was nice to see an MMC who was more in touch with his feelings, even if he struggled to act on them.

It’s hard to believe this was a debut novel. It was so well written!

The cast of supporting characters were all intriguing and it will be interesting to learn more about all of them as the series progresses.

I thought it was a great book! The tension and bickering between the characters was fun to read. The family bond in this book was also very engaging.

However, I found the relationship development very rapid and unrealistic. This made the book less captivating.

In the final chapter, something happened that turned out to be intentional, which was unexpected. If this had been added to the story more, I think it would have been a nice, suspenseful element!

I'm curious about the other books to see if the writing style develops further! I'm looking forward to reading them!

But I didn’t like how “at first sight” the love was. That’s a personal qualm, though.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfectly Wild & Sweet Romance That Will Keep You Hooked!

If you love your romance with a side of heat, humor, and undeniable chemistry, Saddle and Bound is PERFECTION! This enemies-to-lovers, opposites-attract slow-burn is an absolute winner from start to finish, and I couldn’t get enough of it.

Rosie and Alex are the perfect combination of fiery and frustrating. Rosie, the city girl trying to escape the chaos of her life, shows up at Sunrise Ranch thinking a summer away from the hustle and bustle is all she needs. But instead, she gets Alex—a stubborn, brooding cowboy who seems determined to make her life as difficult as possible. The constant sparring, playful insults, and heated glances kept me turning pages late into the night. You can feel the chemistry between them from the very beginning, even when they’re at each other’s throats.

What really sold this book for me was the slow-burn tension. Every argument, every witty exchange just added more fuel to the fire. Their push-and-pull dynamic had me on the edge of my seat, eagerly waiting for that moment when they would finally give in to their undeniable attraction. And trust me, when it happens, it’s SO worth the wait.

Alex is your classic, swoon-worthy cowboy. He’s rugged, charming, and doesn’t take no for an answer. But there’s also this softer side to him that comes out as he starts to show Rosie the ropes of ranch life. I loved how their relationship evolved from frustration to something deeper, more meaningful. You can tell that Alex isn’t just interested in Rosie for her looks—he’s genuinely captivated by her fire and her intelligence. The way he slowly opens up to her was so heartwarming.

I also have to mention how well the setting of Sunrise Ranch works for the story. The ranch life, the saloon vibes—it all just comes together in a way that makes the whole world of the book come to life. I could practically smell the fresh air, hear the horses, and feel the heat between Rosie and Alex. The ranch itself becomes its own character, adding so much depth to the romance.

Overall, this is a romance that has everything—sweet moments, fiery passion, humor, and characters that you’ll love to root for. If you’re a fan of forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers, or slow-burn chemistry that builds and builds, then Sunrise Ranch: Book 1 is a must-read!

🔥 5 stars! This book will make you laugh, swoon, and maybe even fan yourself a little. I’m already counting down the days until the next book in the series!

I absolutely adored this cowboy romance from debut author Valetina Iania! She wrote these characters with such heart, and her words drew me in right from the start.

When Rosie leaves LA to spend the summer in southern Italy at the ranch where her father works, it's clear she's an outsider. And nobody makes her feel that way more than Alex, the handsome cowboy who mercilessly teases her for being a city princess. But as the weeks go on, there's underlying tension and attraction to the teasing and Rosie and Alex must decide if their animosity is masking other feelings, and and if those feelings can overcome all the obstacles standing between them and a future together.

This book was the perfect blend of fun and emotional. I'm a huge fan of enemies to lovers, and Alex and Rosie definitely brought the snark and banter that I love. And when they got over themselves enough to act on their true feelings, the sparks flew! These two had amazing chemistry, and the care they had for each other was beautifully heartwarming. There was some spice in the book, but it was mild and tasteful and didn't detract from the plot. There were also plenty of side characters who added to the joy of reading this book, and the text message chains between the friend groups never failed to make me laugh!

Thank you so much Valentina for the opportunity to read your first book! I'm so honored, and I already can't wait to read the next one!!

Saddle and Bound comes out on February 9th, and I highly recommend you buy it!!

This was a really good debut! I can’t wait to see this author grow and see what this series has in store! The characters were cute! I loved that Rosie was a city girl because seeing her fall in love with the Italian ranch was so sweet. Alex was fun and I loved his bickering at Rosie. Enemies to lovers/banter always have my heart! Some parts in the story felt a little off, but as a debut I think it was written very well! Overall, it was super cute and, as I said, I see this author going places and can’t wait to be along for the ride! 🤠

Rosie is a city girl through and through. After hearing her dad is getting married she’s on her way to a small Italian town to spend the summer at a ranch. She’s determined to get through this holiday and return to life back in the city.

Everything she wants soon starts to change when she meets the handsome cowboy.

Alex is cocky, very cocky and charming. He’s nice, sexy and frustrating and a major distraction when it comes to Rosie’s plans.

From their first meet the connection was there and their chemistry was wow. All throughout the book we get to see their connection slowly grow stronger. Their banter and jokes and everything in between was so much fun to read.

Give me an enemies to lovers book and honestly I’m putty in your hands my absolute favourite trope and that’s what this book was. Enemies to Lovers with a tad of forced proximity.

This was a new to me author and I enjoyed the writing, I managed to get through it quickly and enjoy it.

If you’re a fan of cowboy romances, give this one a try.

This debut novel was the perfect blend of funny banter, emotion and hot cowboys! Valentina does a great job at creating characters with depth and great chemistry!

Rosie and Alex are literally fire and ice! Alex’s way of provoking Rosie to try to get under her skin starts to backfire and their hatred for each other quickly turns into passion. The enemies to lovers trope in this book is done to perfection! Watching Alex pick away at Rosie’s walls and break them down made for such a beautiful story.

Valentina’s debut novel was full of angst, witty banter, intense cowboys and pure passion. I would highly recommend to all my cowboy loving book besties!

Thank you SO much to the author, Valentina, for allowing me a free ARC copy of your book! You are going to do wonderful things with your career and I’m so thankful to have been a small part of it! 🫶🏻

There’s a warmth to story. The setting, and how it’s described, it’s so vivid and brings a sudden feeling of calmness to me. Like how you feel when you go to the beach? Now I’m trying to plan a trip to Italy so I can experience the slightest bit of what this ranch made me feel.

Love a reverse grumpy x sunshine, it’s refreshing. The MMC tends to always be the grumpy one so to have the FMC take on that persona makes me feel like I’m not reading the same regurgitated trope.

I need Val and Chris’ story ASAP!! And Aurora’s IMMEDIATELY after!! Book 1 has me wanting more!

Nothing hits quite like a cowboy romance 🤌🏼 such a cute debut novel from Valentina Iaina.

Rosie is a typical city girl, now living in the country, trying to adjust. But adjusting is pretty easy imo when you have a hot cowboy falling in love with you. She’s truly got it all, the cute small town, hot cowboy and the best girl group possible. Honestly with all things considered, kinda shocking it took her as long as it did to agree to stay. It would have taken me maybe 5 minutes in Alex’s presence.

I love cowboy, but a cute, thoughtful, cowboy? Jackpot. Once alex comes to terms with his feels for Rosie, he was easily the most adorable cowboy I’ve read in a while. Lowkey he even has me convinced to go camping…

“I was always here, Rosie. Even when I was far away, my heart was always with you.” ❤️

Tropes
Cowboy romance
Cowboy x City girl
Forced proximity
No 3rd act breakup
Tension and banter

I really liked this. Alex and his Princess (Rosie) were so cute together. Their banter was entertaining, because they equally like getting under each other’s skin. When things finally started happening between them I was S A T. Their passion and intimacy was everything. I also loved how supportive of Rosie Alex was, and the things he did and said that made it evident that he saw and wanted a future with Rosie. He just said some of the sweetest things period. And the illustrations that were included were cute too.
I loved their friends groups. The girls’ “wild chicks” chat were wild and crazy and down for all of the shenanigans lol and the boys’ “Cowboy Stallions” chat were hilarious. I loved how Alex’s friends/brothers were always there for him and ready to step him when they saw him down or stressed.
The third act situation had me tearing up and my heart was breaking for Alex.
In the end everything worked out and Alex got his happily ever after with his Princess.
The only things that I wasn’t crazy about was the pacing of some sections of the book, the inner monologues of both characters in their POVS, especially in the beginning seemed tea drawn out and things that should’ve been said to each other, and I would’ve loved an extended epilogue showing them getting married because I would’ve loved to hear their vows to each other.
But other than that, I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to future books.

Rosie and Alex are the definition of "can't stand each other, but can't stay away." Rosie, the no-nonsense city girl, arrives at Sunrise Ranch expecting a peaceful, uneventful summer—only to be greeted by Alex, the infuriating, undeniably sexy cowboy who’s determined to make her life harder than it needs to be. Their constant bickering and sharp-tongued exchanges had me laughing out loud, but beneath all the tension, there’s this undeniable connection that starts to grow between them in the most unexpected and steamy way.

What really makes this book stand out is the slow-burn romance. I mean, wow. Every moment of tension, every heated argument just builds this delicious anticipation, and by the time these two finally give in to their attraction, the payoff is so satisfying. Rosie and Alex are complete opposites in nearly every way—she’s a city girl with no time for cowboys, and he’s a rough-around-the-edges rancher with a heart of gold—but that’s what makes their connection so perfect. Their differences balance each other out in ways they never expected, and it’s beautiful to watch them come together despite their resistance.

Alex is the ultimate cowboy—wild, confident, and so damn stubborn. But beneath his tough exterior is a man who’s more than willing to teach Rosie about life on the ranch—and maybe even a little bit about love. I loved watching the layers of his character unfold as he slowly lets down his guard. And Rosie? She’s strong, determined, and more than capable of holding her own against Alex’s stubbornness. She may not be looking for love, but Alex is the last thing she expects—and the one thing she might need most.

The setting of Sunrise Ranch is the perfect backdrop for this love story. The ranch, the saloon, the wide open spaces—it all adds this incredible charm and rugged beauty to the romance. The atmosphere makes everything feel so authentic, and you can almost feel the tension in the air between these two as they’re forced to spend more time together.

Saddle and Bound is everything you want in a romance—smoldering chemistry, witty dialogue, and a slow-burn connection that will leave you swooning. If you love enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, and a couple with that perfect mix of sparks and heart, this is a MUST-read!

🔥 5 stars! If you’re not already hooked, trust me, you will be. Can’t wait for more from this series!
