About the author

Jane has been a recruiter for over three decades and founded Northstar Recruiting in 2001. When recruiting slowed during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, she had time to cull through decades of recruiting stories. After wading through thousands of notes, she published "Surviving the Job Search," a field guide to help job seekers navigate the entire process of writing a resume, prepping for interviews, and negotiating offers. At the bottom of each page, she put a story from the trenches, and readers loved them! She couldn’t fit every story she had into "Surviving the Job Search," so she poured everything into a new book, "Stories from the Trenches." To expand the "Jane Snipes Presents" series, in 2024, she created "The Ultimate Resume Writing Workbook," a fast-track resume-writing guide to help job seekers understand how to craft a resume that works with applicant tracking and A.I. systems while still appealing to the reader.

She runs Northstar Recruiting full-time and writes when she can.
