The trouble with being an elf is... well, it's complicated! We have to save Christmas magic like my sister Ribbon. Don't even get me started on Clover. Clover has to break a goblin's curse using love and nightshade! Whoever comes up with these recipes needs help.

Now, Captain Joren Steele has his hands full with not only a dark-eyed beauty named Pepper, but a king, an evil drow elf, and someone stealing souls! Cayenne has to capture a malevolent fairy, but she finds her attraction to her partner to be a bit distracting to say the least.

And finally, Rue. Rue has a difficult choice: should she do as she is commanded or standby as an elf is tortured.

Join the elf side...

I'm an indie author with a pen name taken from a burlesque name generator and began my career on a dare...

The fae, magic, and mystical worlds of possibility are carved into my soul. When I write my stories I pour all of my heart into what they whisper. I'm the kind of lady who will stare off into space to better understand my characters thoughts, listening to them speak their own version of the story.

I'm a mother of two girls and several furbabies. I'm engaged but have no intention of getting married.
Like most authors I've been writing most of my life and have dreamed of being an author since the 5th grade.
When I write, I write to explore characters and a world first for myself. Then I revise, edit, and publish for readers.

Overall, I'd give this series as a whole 4.5 stars.
A couple of 5 star reads, some 4 star reads - it's really a great series and each book has its own fun ...

#1 Ribbon of Darkness
5 stars
Cover: Professionally done, relevant and easy on the eyes.
Editing/Proofing: Professional
Formatting: Professional
Cliffhanger: No - wraps up nicely

Ribbon is a young, likable girl: down to earth and relatable. As she tells me a bit about her family I have a need to learn more and as I am soon introduced to Draven I'm hooked. I love the world inside this book to the point that I want to live in it myself.
I was unable to put this book down until there was no more - it was a bit too abrupt for me. The drama that sucked me in was wrapped up just a bit too neatly, without much further drama. As a standalone, it does work but is just a bit too tidy. Lucky for us readers, it kicks of a series - I'll be needing more of this world and found Ribbon of Darkness to the be perfect introduction. Very well written.

#2 Tempting Clover
4 stars
Cover: Professional
Editing/Proofing: Professional
Formatting: Easy on the eyes, seems professional

As ‘Tempting Clover’ starts out, it is so incredibly different from its predecessor in the series and is instantly full of action and mystery. In no time at all, secrets are revealed and action ensues and turns into steaminess before the end. Malik is a creepy little bastard but you should come see for yourself. I read this in under and hour as it was a fast, fun read – and time well spent at that. As usual with Kane, I am left wanting more and will be sure to check out her other works.
*I was gifted a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

#3 Steele Your Soul
4 stars
I sought this book out after reading and loving Books 1&2 in this series - Kane did not disappoint. (By the way, gorgeous book cover!)

In the short amount of time required to complete this fun read, I am still able to stop and appreciate how well developed the characters are, which is typical of Kane, as I'm learning. She also has a unique way of describing two people coming together with such a fierce longing for one another, often discovered simply upon first glance that still keeps it all believable. She works in the right amount of darkness so that I don't mind the romance & even find myself coming back for more.

Captain Steele has a way of speaking that screams 'hottie' even in print. Kane's talents know no bounds.
Pepper, particularly is a great character and I love how well the name suits her. This installment of The Trouble With Elves offers some drama, action & steamy scenes - another fast, fun read.

#4 - A Hint of Cayenne
5 stars
This was a really fun read - I'd say this and Ribbon of Darkness are my favorites from the Trouble with Elves series.

Cover: Absolutely beautiful and fitting.
Editing/Proofing: I received an ARC so, many errors but I'm forgiving them as I likely have an unpolished copy.
Characters: Complex, brilliantly designed. Cayenne is a little spitfire elfess but with a couple of major weaknesses. One being her little sister but the other seems to be the man who is currently also her... rival? Hawthorn is also really well designed, he's a good guy but doesn't come off as one... it's deep down. Lily is pretty brave and ultimately pure.... really well done in this regard.

Heat level: This book gets hot. It's short and there are just a couple of sex scenes but they're pretty well done. Also some of the in-between has some intense situations that get pretty hot.

Cliff hanger? No. This wraps up nicely though - it did leave me wanting more from these characters. I don't have to wonder about how anything turned out, but I'd totally read more if Kane were to put it out.

Overall -
A really fun read. Really hot read. And a reminder to not judge people by their appearance or financial situation or living situation, etc. A reminder that lots of good people just fall into bad luck or make poor decisions sometimes.
I only wish there was more.

*I was provided with a copy of this novella for free in exchange for my honest review.

#5 A Whisper of Rue
4 stars
A Whisper of Rue is par for the Trouble with Elves course - the lingo is cute and totally fitting. Kane is a great themer - (My Disney-brainwashed self approves).

Rue starts out mysteriously - we meet Rue, and are juuuust getting to know her when she finds the mysterious earpiece and the voice on the other end. It only becomes more filled-with-mystery as it goes on, though I did predict the outcome... (I predict everything though and I don't think most people would predict this storyline.)

It was super fun travelling with Rue to see if my predictions would be right - and the banter between herself and Gage. Lots of whimsy with fairies, sparklees and a trippy journey. There's mystery, suspense, action, drama and sex. This book has it all - and it's all wrapped up neatly into a fun little quickie. Highly recommend.

Ribbon Of Darkness (Book 1): I don't usually get into fantasy but Decadent Kane has changed my mind on that. When I started Ribbon of Darkness, I couldn't put it down. I finished it in one sitting! Ribbon has no clue that she is an elf, she wakes up one morning to find her ears pointed.

Draven has been hunting a long time to find the Winters family and bring them back home before darkness takes over the pole and there is no Christmas Magic.

Ribbon of Darkness will take you on a quick yet enjoyable journey. This story is completely original and fresh perspective on Christmas and what all it entails. I cannot wait to read from from the Trouble With Elves!

Tempting Clover (Book 2): The Trouble With Elves series just keeps getting better. Goblins have never made my skin crawl the way they do in Tempting Clover. I was hooked from page one and read on until I was finished. Clover has been under Malik's curse for too long and she is eager to escape his clutches. I felt Clover's disgust as I read and by the end Malik had dug skin deep and made he hate him just as much.

Reed is a bar owner who falls for Clover the moment he sees her but then she disappears. As odd as it is, it draws you in to find out why. His journey to find Clover leads him into lands unknown. Reed is sexy as can be and I love the journey him and Clover go through to attempt to escape.

You'll find yourself sucked in desperate to find out if she escapes or not. Does she? Read to find out!

Tempting Clover has something for everyone and is a great read. I am a huge fan of Decadent Kane and I cannot wait to read the next book in The Trouble With Elves.

Steele Your Soul (Book 3): Decadent Kane just keeps getting better! I was once again sucked into the world of Elves but this time there were some steamy pirates involved as well! Steele Your Soul follows Pepper. She is stubborn but deep down soft. She can't help the attraction to Captain Steele when she meets him but he's a pirate.

Captain Joren Steele is used to sleeping with women and moving on. He doesn't commit whatsoever but when the evil drow tries to take Pepper's soul for his own, Joren feels an attraction to her and knows he must save her.

I hadn't read any story with elves before Decadent Kane. I am a huge fan now and Steele Your Soul taught me about evil drows. I also learned just how steamy pirates can get. By far The Trouble With Elves is my favorite series and I cannot wait to read more.

A Hint Of Cayenne (Book 4): Once again The Trouble With Elves series proves to be a delight. I was completely captured from the first page reading about feisty Cayenne's attitude. She is a spitfire character taking on a risky bounty to help get her and her sister safe.

Then you have Hawthorn who is also looking for the same bounty. He meets Cayenne in a bar one night for a passion filled evening not knowing just how close they will soon be.

A Hint Of Cayenne swept me up in the first few pages and I couldn't stop reading. Decadent Kane has quickly became my favorite fantasy author and I love reading about the elves and the new adventures they go on.

A Whisper Of Rue (Book 5): Once again I was swept away into the world of elves and magic. I absolutely loved the originality of the story. A package mysteriously shows up on Rue's door, she ends up with two choices. Either do as Gage demands or just standby as an elf is hurt.

She ends up on a journey and the end result is supposed to save the elf that is going to be hurt. With Gage Evans in her ear giving her instructions, she'll have no choice but to follow them and see where she ends up.

Whisper Of Rue is a wonderful adventure that is sure to keep you reading until you finish the final pages.

Overall Review: Overall each of these stories bring something different to the table. They all sweep you away to different worlds full of mystery, adventure, and hot sex scenes. I was absolutely excited to be allowed to read such a delightful series. This is an original series brought by a beautiful author.

Elven Obsession is a compilation of five short stories, three already in print and two to round out the collection featuring- you guessed it- elves. Typical of PNR/UF critters they're almost always attractive, smart, magically delicious and really like sex. A lot.

Book 1~ Ribbon of Darkness: An old family secret draws Ribbon into an Elven world while Draven is forced to find a way to drag her back home to save Christmas magic.

Book 2~ Tempting Clover: Breaking a goblin's curse is more difficult than Clover thought. Especially when love and nightshade are crucial ingredients.

Book 3~ Steele Your Soul: Stolen souls, an evil drow elf, a dark eyed beauty named Pepper, and a king who doesn't take kindly to the loss of his goods...Captain Joren Steele has his hands full.

(Books 1-3 available individually)

Book 4~ A Hint of Cayenne: Two bounty hunting elves must put aside their attraction to each other when a malevolent fairy comes up for grabs. Cayenne and Hawthorne both need the twenty gold reward, but only one can walk away with it.

Book 5~ A Whisper of Rue: When a package magically shows up in Rue's home, she'll have two choices. Either do as Gage demands, or standby as an elf is tortured.

After reading the first three stories an odd pattern emerges: the sexy, sultry heroines all haven't gotten laid in a while- for no reason other than to have them gagging for it yet the big hunky male gets to knock out a quick booty call with some other chick before getting it on with the heroine who, again, hasn’t been getting any. Which is really odd since all the other elves seem to be shagging their brains out except them. And there's the ugly, smelly, repulsive bad guys who captures the heroine, makes everyone's lives difficult, etc and so forth.

The plight of the Drow and other diseased creatures is very interesting. Dark elves/fairies are such because they've contracted a disease, but elves can be cured of it before too long. How I won't say as it's key to some of the stories but it makes you want to keep reading about these elves and their world.

Author Decadent Kane put a lot of imagination into these stories, and it makes you curious as to where she could take them as full-length tales. You can see the progression in her writing as the stories get more and more complex, character driven and layered. You'll definitely be intrigued by the scenarios involved and they'll leave you wanting more as you read them. Hopefully Kane'll expand upon things in future tales. I'll definitely be there if she does.

Five delicious stories in varying styles and genre, all featuring fun, flirty, frisky, fantastic elves! Elven Obsession has so much to offer... Holiday elves, elvyn spies and mercenaries, pointy-eared pirates and even a elfy private investigator!

Each of these stories has its own, unique, fun little tale to tell, and each elvyn couple have their own wonderful flavor. They're all different, and I love that about them: very vibrant characters with dynamic conflicts. My two favorite ladies are Rue and Clover: these two gals are tough and take control of their own situations--their love interests are wonderful, strong men, though the girls don't really NEED them to rescue them. Which I love! It even makes the men more attractive to me, because they don't need to be the saviors to be attractive, dynamic men.

"Steele Your Soul" is a fun adventure with a lot of great pirate spirit. I like that while all the other four books concentrate on a lead female's point of view, "Steele" is told from the point of view from a male. "Ribbon of Darkness" carries some strong holiday nostalgia for me, very merry! "Cayenne" takes competition to a whole new level, and "A Whisper of Rue" turns the art of conversation into a compelling adventure. This is a terrific collection, and I am excited to see more!

It's no easy thing being an elf. Can Christmas magic be saved and is it possible to break a goblin's curse? There are evil soul stealing drows and greedy wizards. Never mind a malevolent fairy. All this and elfing hot elves too.

The Trouble With Elves series is fantastically fun and a stand-out in the erotic fantasy genre. Each story is clever with its twists on popular elf myths, and every single one of them made me laugh. I devoured this collection and I'm pleading for more.

My favorite character is Captain Joren Steele. He's a scrumptious elven pirate that has no trouble with the ladies until Pepper comes along. I'd love to read more about Joren's adventures in every nook and cranny he can find them! Hot, hot, hot!

Rue is a close second as my favorite. She's a strong and intelligent protagonist with a hard edge. She's put into situation in which she must do what she least expects of herself to survive.

I hope to see more of Decadent Kane's elves or even some other fantasy beings in her world.

I read this as part of the Elven Obsession Omnibus...

Ok, so I really don’t want to get into each book, because to do a full review for each I’d probably spoil some damn good things for you, so with this I will write a summary for an overall. These are quick, sexy, intriguing, very fun books. Each one is a tale of different characters but set in the same world. The world building is quite good for being short stories. The all have a beginning and an end, so no worries, these have the perfect setting if you want something fun to read but not a whole lot of time. I also liked the writing. I swear I though I was going to either pass out from the suspense, or need a cold shower from the sexy. Oh yeah, it’s sexy LOL. I totally say GET IT! You won’t be disappointed!! 5 Elfy PAWS though please don’t tell them, or the crazy goblins I said elfy, I want to keep my life and my limbs intact :)

As an avid reader of Decadent Kane's elven series, I was delighted to find they were all bundled into one book that I can physically put on my book shelf. Each of these tales contain and hero and heroine unique to their own situation, with their own incredible story to tell! If you haven't read any of Miss Kane's elven stories, this book is for you! Let yourself escape to a world where Christmas Elves strive to keep Christmas magic alive. A world where nasty little goblins try to weak havoc, or a world where a bounty hunting elfess is determined to capture her prize all the while falling for the competition!

I won this book through the Goodreads Giveaways. I enjoyed this book. It is all about elves, even Christmas elves. I suggest this book for adults only. This is an erotica book so there is a lot of sex. But the sex never gets overdone. Each story is a nice short novella. I will be reading more of Decadent Kane.

Ribbon of Darkness:
I have never read a book on elves before so I thought I would give this a try, and can I say, I was not disappointed. When Ribbon wakes up one day, she discovers that her ears have grown points, she is mortified and tries to figure out a way to hid them. When she goes into her parents work that day for her shift, she runs into Draven. Both fell immediate chemistry for one another. Draven, a spy from the North Pole, has found the family of elves that left 24 years earlier, his task, to bring Ribbon and her family back to the North Pole to save Christmas. Ribbon's mother realizes they've been found and also tells her daughter about their true identity. But when Draven kidnaps Ribbon and brings her to the North Pole, will it be too late for them to save Christmas?

Tempting Clover:
Clover has been at her goblin's beckon call since she wanted to find shelter two years earlier. A curse from a goblin is never a good thing. Especially from a goblin that is as old and as ruthless as Malik. He requires Clover's desire to use in a potion to make him human. Clover has been good for two years learning that a Sage Witch might be able to help her and gaining trust for the goblin. Along the way, she runs into Reed, an elf she truly desires. When Malik learns of this, he wants Clover to continue using him since the stronger her desire, the better the potion. Will Clover ever be able to free herself of Malik, or will she be under his curse forever? What about Reed, when he realizes she's in trouble and has a need to help her, will he live long enough to help, after all there is the blonde guy standing in his way after Reed kicked him out of his bar.

Steele Your Soul:
I am loving this series! When Pepper is out running an errand for her Grandmother, she runs into a pirate on her way back. The two of them are drawn to one another and he invites her on his ship when he saves her from falling crates. This pirate, Captain Joren Steele, deals with Drow, and when one of the Drow he works with wants Pepper for himself, will Joren be able to protect her? At first he does but Joren doesn't want to be settled down with just one woman, he's got a different one at each port. But after the Drow takes Pepper's soul and Joren is on his way to deliver her soul unknowingly along with all the other souls per his job, will he choose to save her life after discovering hers was wrongly taken when the storm hits and her body is revealed, or will he choose his ship and career? One will sink and one will make, he can only choose one?

A Hint of Cayenne:
Cayenne and her sister Lily are very poor, so when Cayenne has an opportunity to get a great bounty, she knows she will be able to get a house for her and her sister. What she didn't bank on was that someone else would also be after the same bounty, it turns out to be the guy she just hooked up with the night before, Hawthorn. Hawthorn needs the money to pay off his debt with the Drow. Who will win the bounty? If Cayenne wins, what will happen to Hawthorn and his debt? If Hawthorn wins, will Cayenne and her sister forever be living in dirt holes? Find out in this fourth book of The Trouble With Elves series.

A Whisper of Rue:
Private Investigator Rue comes home to find a note and an earpiece. The note tells her to put in earpiece and naturally, she does. The catch, it is magically stuck unless she finds the man on the other end. Gage, the voice on the other end, wants her to complete tasks by having her deliver artifacts that were her fathers, if she doesn't, someone will be tortured. Gage seems to know about her father as does the Elder, someone she gives the artifacts too. But when she finds herself locked in a dungeon with no way out, she has to rely on the one person she hates. Will she be able to make it out alive? Will the person she hears being tortured on Gage's end live or will they die?

Each of these novellas were written because characters threw themselves at me- pleading and demanding to be told.

Books 1-3 were the easiest for me to write.

Books 4 & 5 I had a bit more trouble with. It wasn't until the editing stage that I even considered add almost 5k more to A Hint of Cayenne, but it happened. And Rue- she refused to speak to me for months, very displeased by what I intended to put her through. We didn't reach an agreement- she finally realized though that her story would have to be finished.

All of these novellas hold a special place in my elfin heart and I hope as you read their stories, they entertain you for at least a little while.

Enjoy!
