A Must-Read for Anyone with Chronic Disease
Timestamp: A CKD Memoir by Brendan Shea is a compassionate and spiritually grounded resource for anyone navigating the complexities of a chronic disease. If you're living with a chronic illness, navigating a recent diagnosis, or supporting someone who is, this book offers something truly special. It is a celebration of courage, perseverance, and the quiet strength it takes to live with a “new normal.”

The author’s early life was plagued by a series of illnesses – allergies, asthma, dandruff, acne, and insomnia. As a young adult, he suffered from a mental breakdown after the café where he worked was held up by a gunman. Just when his health seemed to be getting stable, he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The book details his physical, emotional, and spiritual struggles as he deals with CKD.

The book is edifying and well-written. It provides a great amount of Scripture that relates to something positive about God through concerning times of illness. I was implored to dig deeper into my own illness experience.

I highly recommend Timestamp: A CKD Memoir, especially to anyone who is affected by chronic disease.
