When Arnald receives a letter of divorce from the wife he has never met, he decides to strike a wager with her instead. After all, he’s heard rumors of this temptress and he’s not one to take a loss. It’d be a shame to let Byletta go without seeing what she’s like for himself. But the more time Arnald spends with Byletta, the less he understands her. Just what is this feeling growing inside him?

I feel like I shouldn't like this series but it's very interesting watching the characters interacting as well as the slowly developing storyline. I find it difficult to peg down the MC as the MC though. This particular volume felt like the story is more about the husband falling in love with the wife. He starts off almost sociopath, high functioning one, where he admittedly does not understand emotions and has to fake them based on observing what other people do in different situations. But as he gets to know his wife more and more actually emotions seem to start emerging from him. I'm not sure if psychology really works that way in real life but it makes for a good romance.

One of the funny things about this story is the premise is built around the fact that he's made a deal with her that if he can't get her pregnant in 30 days then he will grant her the divorce she wants. You would think with a scenario set up like that you would need to put explicit warnings but even when there is a slightly saucy scene it's short and fully clothed. Kind of one of those you know it's happening but you're not going to see it. Almost tasteful lol.

As far as the questionability of the consent, that's not a questionable anymore she's definitely consenting. It even looks like she might be falling in love with him too... Be grudgingly lol.

At the time of writing this the third volume hasn't come out yet. I'm not sure if I'm invested enough to look into the light novels or not. But I think I might read the third one when it comes out.

Things are heating up and getting interesting, which could make later volumes even more engaging as well. Arnald has realized that his previous assumptions clearly did not paint an accurate picture of Byletta, and he's set off to learn as much about her as he can. Arnald's conversation with his commanding officer is also hilarious and leads to further humor as he seems so focused on Byletta. Byletta herself seems more than a little confused and maybe even concerned given her inquiries if everything is okay and frequent ruminations that she doesn't understand Arnald at all. Arnald may regret being so willing to make that bet with Byletta unless they can both agree to change the terms.

Ugh i finished this too quickly hehe

I absolutely love this series!!! The miscommunication is actually my favorite part because they are both finding themselves. I also love How this PG13 manga but still leaves some to the imagination. I need volume 3 to come out soon because i need MORE!!!!

Liking this series a lot. Nice character designs, and interesting characters. The side plot in this volume re: the mystery at the estate finances got a bit too convoluted for my taste, but I like seeing the romance develop.
