After defining and clarifying the respective positions of the Charismatics and Evangelicals, this book addresses such critical points of divergence as theology and experience, prophecy and scripture, initiation, tongues, ministry and holiness. The challenge for both, Pawson maintains, is to reconsider their traditional understanding in the light of all the biblical data, and that the time is now ripe for the two fastest-growing streams in Christendom to be fully integrated. David Pawson has also written "Truth to Tell", "Leadership is Male", The Normal Christian Birth" and "The Road to Hell".

This is an excellent read for both evangelicals and charismatics because both have fallen on either ends of the spectrum, not in a good way at all. It's thought provoking, and Mr. Pawson backs it all up with scriptural proof and history of the time. It's a must read for any Christian, but you must approach the topic with an open heart and mind because, no matter where you sit on this topic, we all could learn more and understand it as God would want us to understand His Word. So challenge yourself, lay aside your preconceived notions and pray about this. It's a vital aspect many overlook.

As any of David Pawson's book, this gives me a clear understanding of the difference that divides and unites two streams in Christendom today. David's writing has a way of wanting you to read it again and again.
