4/10/25 ok so this book isn't going to be winning any awards for writing, but I still enjoyed it a lot. It's very feminist and modern - no annoying "just flip a switch" things with reversals, where if one "acts like a guy" the other has to "act like a girl" though there was a SMIDGE of it but it never got to be too too irritating.
I'd also have finished it faster if I hadn't been trying to do a ton of other things.
Just really loved the secondary characters, ML, the emperor, empress, almost everyone was great. Such a lighthearted fluff read. Sometimes that's what you really need. I'm definitely eagerly awaiting other books by this author to be fully translated

😡😡😡😡😡 she almost died, is still in recovery and her dad is making her kneel?! Fuckhead. And I thought he didn’t know beer injuries but he does! I don’t care he cares. Fucker. And it seems the emperor knows exactly who she was! (Though what identity did she use to fight?)
3 😹😹😻😻😻 I LOVE that she’s good friends with her cousin Mu QingYao who seems cold but is actually nice? ❤️
4 😹🤦🏻♀️☠️ FL feels excited when shot at by an interesting bow vs anything else. (Also who was the dude drawing that she went to spy on?!)

😅 not sure why I squealed when I read “The Imperial Preceptor turned his gaze to the paper, looking at those slightly upturned eyes full of vitality and defiance, and said, ‘I will capture her myself.’” Cuz it might not be a good thing!
