Jerry Busone is a great leader and understands what it takes to make great leaders succeed. This is a very easy read, but I found myself wanting more or hoping for more as I read each chapter. I felt the stories provided a foundation for what would be great takeaways at each chapter. But ultimately felt the thoughts fell flat at each chapter conclusion. This book has potential and there are lessons to be learned. But lacks when compared to the other leadership/sales books I’ve read.
This book is more for corporate sales teams. Certain sections do not apply to all types of leadership and is not relatable outside of a large corporate setting. I feel like the title should read "Off the bench sales team leadership". All references are for either coaching sports or leading in a corporate setting. That being said, there are good general leadership points that can be gleaned.
The coaching expertise and passion for the game, improvement, and life in general reminds me of my pop warner football coach in all the right ways. A great influence and easy read
