Reading Remy's story, I felt a deeper pull than some of the other novels in Ms. Calhoune's heart-touching series. Remy is a hopeless romantic who wants the world and who wants to give the world. Unlike the other Donahue boys, Remy didn't grow up in an abusive atmosphere, instead his parents died unexpectedly when he was young. It was this unfortunate turn of events that lead him to be everything that Gabrielle needed.

I must say, there is something about this series... I can never get enough, no matter how hard I try. Every time that I open one of the Donahue brother's stories, I dive right in and forget to watch for where my feet are landing.

Until You Loved Me is book three in Seven Brides Seven Brothers by Belle Calhoune. It is set in Breeze Point, Cape Cod. This is a great romantic series.
Alex and Maggie Donohue had fostered then adopted seven little boys who needed a loving home. Each had come to them for different reasons. Some were abused and neglected and some had their entire families taken from them in an accident. Each boy found a loving home with Alex and Maggie and formed an unbreakable bond with the other boys. They were never strong enough until they were Donohue Strong.
Remy Chastain Donohue had come to the Donohue’s home after the accident that led to his parents’ death. His last memories of them were at a fair riding rides and eating fair food. He had won an alligator with his Father’s help which had reminded Remy of their home in New Orleans. Now he was a world renowned artist who had come home for his brother’s wedding. Now he had decided to stay in Breeze Point.
Gabrielle Turner was a new employee at the Donohue’s bakery, Sweet Treats. Although friendly, she was shy about meeting new people. She didn’t want to discuss her past. She had traveled all over looking for a place to call her own. Although she was from New Orleans, she hadn’t been back since Hurricane Katrina broke her family apart.
Can Alex and Maggie help Gabrielle face her past so Remy can have a chance at her future?

Real rating: 2.5. Unlike the Donahue brothers we have met so far, Remy was surrounded by love both when he was young and after he was adopted following his parents' tragic death. Suave and successful as well as good looking, love has always come easy for him, at least the attraction and romance part. When he meets Gabrielle, however, he realizes that wooing a wounded woman isn't so easy. I enjoyed reading about his tender pursuit, realizing that he needed to heal the rifts in her family before she could truly open her heart to him. The shared New Orleans angle was a nice touch, as well as references to the scars left behind after Katrina.

What I was a little uncomfortable with was their decision to share a hotel room. Granted, Remy (and the author) made a strong distinction that he would do nothing to shame or jeopardize her and it was chaste. I acknowledge that. I just question if there might have been a better decision there. Even so, I will continue with the series and look forward to it.

Good books

I can't imagine how hard it would be to write a series like these. To make each story unique even though the premise is the same. These have all been good stories so far. Only one typo in this one. At one spot early in the book where he's trying to take her home it says "Ryder's tone was soft...." even though it was Remy that was talking to her.

Such a sweet romance

I'm really enjoying this series. The bonds are family are strong and each love story is uplifting and heartwarming. Remy and Gabrielle are delightful characters and perfect for each other. She needs healing from a dramatic past and he's ready to help her. So sweet.

Remy just knew! I like it when the guy can admit that he knows when he finds “his one”. Touching story as it deals with a very dark experience for many residents of New Orleans during 2005. It was an eye opener to consider the unending trauma that the Turner Family allowed to take over their lives. I was about to give up on Gabriella, thinking she was too stuck for change.

I love this author's voice, and I really, really like this series. I like the small town. I like the Donahue family. I like the quick pacing. In the first book of the series, I loved the hero Blue and didn't care for the heroine Sarah. In the second book of the series, I loved the heroine Tess but didn't care for the hero Ryder. In this book, I liked both Remy and Gabrielle. There were a couple of things that kept me from giving this a 5 star rating: the typos (there are several times in the book where Ryder's name is used instead of Remy's), the feeling this was a book to get to the next one, and the quick wrap-up of the subject matter.

Remy is a world famous artist who has come home to celebrate his parents' anniversary. In earlier books, the story of his father having a stroke is told in further detail. This one picks up with the heartbreaking story of how Remy's parents die in a car accident after a wonderful family day (either an amusement park or fair). After his biological family members provide excuses about why they cannot take him in, Remy is adopted into the Donahues led by Maggie and Alec Donahue who have taken in seven boys and raising them as a family. He falls in love with Gabrielle.

Gabrielle has started working at Sweet Treats' Bakery, the establishment owned by Maggie and Alec Donahue. After Hurricane Katrina, she has not been able to settle in one place for long. She, too, has noticed the owner's son but is afraid to tell him for fear of jeopardizing her job. She likes the town and can envision herself staying a while.

There isn't a lot of conflict in this book, but it is a gentle read that draws on the author's faith and provides an inspirational look at a sweet story. It seems to set up the next book more than giving a full account of Remy and Gabrielle's story. It's a cute series, and the author's voice so far has kept me wanting more of the series even though I've had problems with each of the first three books.

This is a Christian inspirational romance, safe for reading for all ages of romance readers.

LOVE CONQUERS ALL

Seven brothers, all adopted but closer than a lot of blood relatives. "Donahue strong". But lately, the bachelors are turning into married men.
Remy is the romantic, but he never found the one with whom he felt he could make a life. He treated all of his women with respect but was always told he wore his heart on his sleeve, so Maggie is worried when he does fall for someone, he'll fall hard and get hurt. She never expected that person to be one of her employees at the bakery she owns.
Like all of the Donahue brothers, Gabrielle has her own traumatic past, and she's been running from it ever since. When she meets Remy though, there's something familiar about him. When she finds that they hail from the same city, she's even more intrigued, but the shell she built around her heart was rock solid. It had to be after everything she'd been through or she never would have survived it all. Or is that shell as hard as she thinks it is?
This was another wonderful installment in the Donahue brothers series that left me crying during the last part of the book. These books grab you emotionally and don't let go until the last page.

Apparently I'm in the minority, but this was my least favorite book of the series so far. On more than one occasion the author confused Remy's name with Ryder...really? I can forgive some errors, but you should know the names of your characters. The whole plot also just felt rushed and barely skimmed the surface. This was insta-love but in an odd form. Overall, I didn't love it. Not sure if I will go on to book 4...

I really enjoy this book. And the first two of the series. I recommend all three of them and can't wait to read about the other brothers.
I especially love the bond and love you see this family have for each other, especially coming from different circumstances in life. I would hope that they could be out there in the real world a Alec and Maggie.

This was a nice, clean story about faith, love and compassion in the Donahue family. However, there was some confusion in the names of the brothers, editorial errors, the sequence of events were not always realistic, and the plot was basically the same as the other two novels. If the plot/story line isn't different in book 4, I probably won't read it.

Gabrielle has been running for years to hide from the pain she carried around for years. The way she tried to keep people from coming close to her is really sad. Remy is truly a blessing to her and his family. The way he got Gabrielle and her family together to face their past is truly remarkable.

I have come to like Belle Calhoune books. Have finished all of the seven brides for seven brothers and liked how each one turned out. Sometimes the characters seem to take a bit more offense or distrust words a bit too much , but it is fun and easy to read and draws you in.

So somehow I came across miss Calhoune's books. They are nice stories obviously. She could've done better with this one. I don't think she did much research for her locations. And Remy was the least realistic of the brothers so far.
