Janae Carter was very specially trained from a very young age, and has now fine-honed her skills to become the Reaper, the country’s most lethal assassin for hire. These stories are thrilling novellas which start and end with “wow!” Although she is an assassion for hire, she actually has a conscience and determined to make sure her contracted killings are well deserved. In the last story she began an unusual partnership with Alicia, a trained researcher who has developed into an efficient operator capable working the scene with the Reaper providing needed history and logistics. Just as Reaper is completing the most recent contract, the city lights blink out, and then back on, allowing just enough time for black clad figures to swarm onto the scene and finish the job for her. As the Reaper tracks down these mysterious figures who are interfering with her commissions, she becomes the next target. In order to help, Alicia uncovers an amazing point of history in Detroit’s past. Now staying one step ahead of a very efficient team sent to eliminate her and Alicia, the Reaper must muster all of her incredible talents to stay alive and find out who or what has turned her livelihood upside down. Incredible story of a very different kind of hero with so many twists and turns it leaves you breathless. Highly recommend this next story in the series.

The streets of Detroit can be a dangerous place. Especially if you are in the sights of The Reaper. In Midnight Massacre by Dan Ames our beloved Reaper has competition. Someone else is killing people. Who, why and when is some of the things she needs to figure out. Luckily she has some help. I am stumped for words, how can you tell so much on so few pages? Ames is a master at condensing stories to the essentials. Since I don't write myself I don't know which is harder, writing short storie or longer ones but I have been told that it's easier to use many pages. Anyhow this is another gem from one of my favorite authors and I recommend it.

Reaper: Midnight Massacre - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

The eponymous Reaper is a female assassin/vigilante for hire, operating in the shadows but only accepting targets her PA Alicia confirms are guilty.
Then a new spate of triple slaying and mutilation every night bursts into her Detroit kill-zone...and the Reaper won't stop until the twisted mastermind's exposed - and eliminated.

Though brief, Reaper: Midnight Massacre is full of non-stop action and thrills, with an ending you won't have seen coming.
You'll love it!

I love this character

I love this character she is brave and vicious. But also good hearted. I sorry her little sidekick shot killed, she was good for Reaper.

Detroit City is no different than any other city when it comes down to crime and murder.
With one difference and she is called the Reaper. She made it her task to rub out these murderous scum.
Except somebody has now started a killing spree, emulating some dark, almost religious ritual.
The Reaper would not allow this to continue.
Author Dan Ames is really touching on the dark side with Reaper: Midnight Massacre in a way that makes you feel chilled to the soul. You have been warned!
