Forever and a Day

Rate this book

Some encounters feel like fate. Others change everything.

Elizabeth Neri has sworn off love. She’s in Siena for a fresh start, focused on her career, not on heartbreak. But fate has other plans. A fractured foot lands her in the hospital—on the same day as her make-or-break nursing interview. The irony isn’t lost on her. Nor is the intensity of the man assigned to treat her.

Dr. William Bellini is everything Elizabeth didn’t expect: magnetic, guarded, and far too tempting. Their connection is immediate, electric… and utterly off-limits. What begins as a fleeting spark turns into a slow-burning fire neither can resist.
Drawn to each other despite their better judgment, they find solace in the one place neither dared to look: each other. But healing hearts isn’t as simple as setting bones. And love, as they learn, is far more fragile.

But William carries secrets—ones rooted in a past he’d give anything to forget. And Elizabeth is no stranger to pain herself. As passion collides with fear, and their bond deepens beyond control, the question becomes not whether they can fall in love… but whether they can survive it.

When the past resurfaces with dangerous consequences, Elizabeth must make a choice: protect her heart, or risk everything for the man who just might be her forever.

In a city of beauty, beneath layers of grief and longing, two souls must decide if one love can outlast a lifetime—and a day beyond.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Heartfelt Romance with Real Emotion and a Cliffhanger That Hooks You

I love a good romance, and Forever and a Day delivered exactly that. The characters felt authentic, their emotional journeys believable, and the chemistry between Elizabeth and William had me fully invested. It resonated deeply—especially that all-too-relatable feeling of swearing off love after a painful breakup… only to unexpectedly find someone who changes everything.

The plot was well-paced and engaging, with just enough drama to keep things interesting—especially toward the end. And let me tell you, that cliffhanger? It definitely sets the stage for book two. I’m already eager to see what happens next and rooting hard for William. He’s a complex character who really deserves his shot at happiness, just as much as Elizabeth does.

A great read for fans of emotional, character-driven romance with just the right amount of tension and heart.

While this book is not my typical sub genre of romance I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between William and Elizabeth. Even through the ups and downs of their relationship they remained deeply in love and tender with each other. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book of this series to find out if William and Elizabeth get their happy ending.

Wow! What a fantastic book! The cover is deceiving. This is not a little romance book. It is so much more. It was pulse pounding at times. I could not turn the pages fast enough. And the ending… holy cow! I am immediately going into the next book!

Okay, so Forever and a Day by Emily Bogatinova really surprised me—in the best way. I went in expecting a soft, maybe slightly predictable love story, and instead got this lyrical beauty.

The writing? Gorgeous. Like, “highlight every other line” gorgeous. Emily has a poetic style that never feels forced.

The heart of the story lies in its two main characters,Elizabeth and Dr. Williams, and their chemistry was palpable from their first encounter. The pacing, though, is one of the reasons I knocked off a star as I found myself drifting during a few too many introspective monologues.

Also, while the atmosphere was one of the novel’s strengths (think foggy mornings and coffee: hot, strong, and sweet) there were moments where I craved a stronger plot push. I loved the emotion, but I did want just a bit more happening to keep the momentum going.

Still, this is a debut that absolutely knows what it’s doing. It’s romantic without being cliche, which I appreciate. If you’re into introspective love stories, Emily has the one for you.

I rated this book…
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The lovely Emily messaged me and asked if I wouldn’t mind giving her book a read as she seen I had an interest in Romance and of course I said Yes!!

‘Forever and a day’ is the first book in her series. If you love an easy read romance, with humour and tears then this book is definitely for you!

From the very first chapter you grow to love the characters and the relationship they form. Isn’t it amazing how a book can pull you in and make its characters feel like family? As their journey unfolds, we accompany them through laughter and tears, crafting bonds that linger in our hearts. The love they feel for each other feels so real and the love story between Elizabeth and William is beautifully written.

Once finishing a chapter you feel the need to read the next and the next, with it being an easy read you just never want to put it down.

As the story unfolds, their are moments in the book that leaves you with a sense of uncertainty between the characters. Throughout the book it brings you moments of sadness and tears and moments of happiness and laughter.

Once I read the last page of the book I immediately messaged Emily and expressed my feelings of how I needed to know what happens next as the very last page leaves you wondering and guessing, leaving you wanting to read the next.

This book brings a sense of warmth and loving. I felt every emotion of this book and is one that will stay with me for a very long time

I would absolutely recommend this book and if your a romance reader like myself then this one is for you 🩷

I went into Forever and a Day thinking it would be your typical romance drama, but wow — this book is a lot. In a good way! It kicks off with a very intense chapter where a guy named William is practically racing to get a divorce, and already plotting the financial fallout ⭐️

Drama? Check. Wealthy people with complicated family histories? Double check. Divorce lawyers, secret motivation? Yep. It’s that kind of book⭐️

What I found fun — or maybe wild is the better word — is how quickly things get juicy. It’s got that addictive soap-opera quality: everyone’s scheming, no one’s really innocent, and you’re just waiting for the next bomb to drop. And honestly, the dialogue is kind of delicious. Over-the-top at times, but in a way that makes you want to keep reading⭐️

This is more of a “pour a glass of wine and indulge in the drama” kind of read! Sometimes you just want secrets, betrayals, and a love story caught in the crossfire of it all⭐️

Would I recommend it? Yeah — if you’re into rich people problems, dramatic twists, and don’t mind a little flair⭐️

omg!

I spoke to the author of this book, we discussed our love of books and our lives… she suggested and sent me this wonderful masterpiece! From the moment that I opened this book, I have been on the edge of my seat, trying to uncover all the twists and turns that she has brought to life.

This series will keep you enraptured and captivated until the very end. As I read the final words, I knew I would be coming back for more as soon as the next book is within my grasp!

Emily is a wonderful soul, and an even more powerful writer. I cannot wait to see what the future holds, for both Emily and Elizabeth (our FMC)!

Elizabeth and William’s story is tantalizing and inspiring. I’m very content with having switched back to contemporary romance, and will be spending a lot more time in this genre.

I won’t be adding any spoilers, but I can’t wait to find out the rest!

Thank you, Emily! 🖤

“Forever and a Day” started off a little slow for me, but once I settled in, I couldn’t stop reading. The story is packed with drama, suspense, unexpected betrayals, and just the right touch of romance and spice to keep things exciting.

Elizabeth and William’s relationship pulled me in, and I kept turning pages to see what would happen next. Every time I thought I had it figured out… bam 💥 another twist came out of nowhere. From a psycho wife to snipers to getaways, this book really keeps you on your toes.

At times it felt like Grey’s Anatomy meets high-stakes suspense, with so much happening that I had to pause and catch my breath but in the best way. And that ending? A total cliffhanger that left me wanting more!

If you love fast-paced, twisty stories that mix romance with edge-of-your-seat suspense, this one is definitely worth the read.

While "Forever and a Day" started off slow for me, it soon had me completely hooked, eager to uncover every twist and turn. This gripping tale brims with drama, suspense, unexpected “betrayals”, and romance with a dash of spice that keeps you on your toes. The romantic elements, though subtly spiced with clinical verbiage, add a unique flair that is different from most of my reads. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, the wild ending sweeps you off your feet! I can’t wait to dive into the next book to see where this thrilling journey leads.

Forever and a Day is an emotional, slow burn romance. Emily Bogatinova does a wonderful job blending heartfelt character struggles with a setting that feels alive and almost cinematic. Elizabeth and William’s chemistry is immediate and compelling, yet the story takes its time exploring deeper layers of grief, healing, and vulnerability. It’s equal parts tender and intense, with just the right amount of tension to keep you turning pages.

If you enjoy romance with depth, a touch of fate, and characters who feel real in their imperfections, this is definitely worth picking up.

Forever and a Day is a heartfelt story about love, loss, and healing after tragedy. I really appreciated the close bond between Elizabeth and her friend Charlotte, and the emotional depth the author brought to their relationship. The story explores grief, forgiveness, and complicated love in ways that reflect the messiness of moving forward.

The book shifts between different character perspectives, which adds variety and insight into their experiences. While I occasionally found some transitions a little abrupt — such as a new point of view being introduced without much context — I admired the ambition of weaving together multiple perspectives. The writing style has moments of warmth and sincerity, though I found the vocabulary leaned very formal at times, making some dialogue and narration feel less natural.

Certain plot points were harder for me to connect with. For example, Elizabeth breaks her foot on the way to an important job interview and misses it entirely. Instead of calling herself, her friend Charlotte goes to plead her case in person — and despite never meeting Elizabeth, the director later offers her the job. This felt a bit unrealistic and hard to believe. I also noticed some long monologues and repeated information throughout the story, which slowed the pacing.

As the plot progressed, more dramatic twists unfolded — including both of the male main character’s wife and father waking from comas at the same time after several years. I also found it difficult to connect with certain reactions — for instance, after Elizabeth is shot, nearly dies, and is recovering from a high-risk pregnancy, then her fiancé’s focus turns to frustration about not being able to resume intimacy right away. Additionally, while the story puts a lot of focus on Elizabeth’s past relationship with Carlo, I was left wishing for more closure and explanation. Carlo’s change in demeanor remains largely unexplained, making it feel like this storyline was set up without a full resolution.

The book ends on a cliffhanger, with another installment planned to continue the story. I’m hopeful the next book will explore Carlo’s backstory more deeply and provide answers about his shifting behavior. I also wanted to mention that I really enjoyed Charlotte’s character — Elizabeth’s loyal best friend who was always there to support her. I actually found Charlotte’s storyline and personality even more compelling at times than the main character’s, and I would love to see more of her in future books.

That said, I appreciated the emotional themes and the heart behind the story. Readers who enjoy dramatic romances with twists, high-stakes moments, and themes of healing, second chances, and family bonds may find much to enjoy here.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Forever and a Day is a romance with a heartfelt premise, and there were definitely scenes that had emotional weight and warmth. The chemistry between the characters was there, and I appreciated the themes of healing and second chances.

However, the story lost some of its momentum for me due to the overuse of internal monologues. While introspection can add depth, in this case, it often slowed the pacing and made certain chapters feel repetitive. I also felt like we never got enough background on Carlo, which made it hard to fully understand the main character’s emotional journey or the stakes involved.

That said, I would recommend it to romance lovers—especially those who enjoy character-driven narratives. It didn’t completely win me over, but I can see the appeal for fans of the genre. I will also be reading the book 2 because the cliff hanger still has me reeling.

Forever and a Day is a light and easy romance read with a storyline that kept me curious. The plot has some fun twists and ends on a solid cliffhanger that made me want to pick up the sequel right away.

While the writing style and pacing aren't what I usually connect with, I can see the heart behind the characters and their journey. If you're a reader who enjoy fluffy romances with a bit of drama and emotional tension, this is definitely for you!

This was kindly sent to me by the author as part of her ARC team, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the characters continue to grow in Forever and Always!

This book was cute! The character building throughout the story was good. The writing style was a little different than what I am used to reading but the further into the story, the more entrapped you are. The cliffhanger at the end though!! Can’t wait to dig into the second book. William is due and I really enjoyed Elizabeth as a character as well!

Thank you to Emily for letting me be part of her ARC team…all opinions are my own 🤍

I absolutely loved seeing Elizabeth’s and William’s relationship!! I think it hits home for a lot of lot of people it being after a breakup but finding the right person. I think the pace of this book was perfect! It was equal parts wholesome and just enough drama to throw in a little something more.
