Thank you for the opportunity to preview Head Cases. This is a police procedural novel that centers on an elite FBI group and a lead investigator.
I think this will be a series as although this novel is wrapped up at the end there Is certainly enough interesting information about this FBI group to provide more cases.
There’s a lot to digest and follow in this case of a murder and a supposed defunct serial killer.
Great detective work is outlined and a lot of characters to follow.
If you enjoy the intricacies of detective fiction this is a good read.

3.5 stars. This book hits the ground running with the first chapter putting us at a homicide scene and quickly introducing us to the main characters. It almost felt like we were thrown into the middle of a book (so much so, I had to check to see if this is a sequel...it's not). I think this approach works for some stories, but not this one. It took a while for the PAR agents to grow on me and by the time that happened, the book was winding down. It is very clear that McMahon did a lot of research into the FBI and how it operates, which I always appreciate. The story was a bit hard to follow and the twist was one that was impossible to see coming. I'll likely read the next one in the series to see how the characters develop.

Very tense, entertaining, this fast paced and gripping thriller, packed with Criminal Minds vibes, that you need to read it.

Special Agent Gardner Camden, from the PAR Unit of the FBI, is one of the talented agents form this unit.

The case gets very interesting when the PAR Unit investigates a serial killer that is killing serial killers. Very interesting, right?

This book is a must read, and I am so glad I picked it up this one up, thanks to my book friend @bibliopeeks for recommending this one.

I definitely recommend this book, I can’t wait to read more.

Reminded me of Criminal Minds. The main character and his mom were definitely Dr. Reade and his mom. I pictured them while reading and it was nice especially the mom. I really love her character
