Leukos Trilogy #1

Marked Legacies: Leukos Trilogy

Rate this book
The world is barren, nothing as far as the eye can see. The storms are deadly and there's no way out.
I was stolen away from the floating city of Leukos and am now destined to live life in this lawless city.
But the high council has other plans though. They want to bring me and others like me down and keep us captive under their control. My kind are killed at birth and feared because of the powers we possess.
After I'm robbed and left for dead is when I meet them. Things in my world start changing, and maybe not for the better. There's only one safe place for me to go and I'm not sure it's the best idea.
In order to keep the ones I love safe it's the decision I will have to make. Will I be able to save the ones I love and step into the role I’m destined for?

Marked Legacies is a 18+ MFMMM slow to medium burn dystopian/fantasy novel. It's the first planned in the Leukos Trilogy. CW/TW can be found at the start of the book in the author's notes.

Living in a dystopian hellscape with the attention of an abusive drug kingpin seems almost worth it when you have the support and adoration of a crew of gorgeous and capable people. In the incredibly fun and entertaining footsteps of The Bonds That Tie, and Shatter Me, this series is going to be a new favorite. Give me more!!

The way i fell in love with this book should be illegal! I was lucky enough to be a alpha reader for this first book in the series and when i tell you it STILL didn’t disappoint even in the early stages. The way i was chomping at the bit for the second book🫢🫢 this 100% will be a book that’s bought for my bookshelf!

Marked was a fun Dystopian to dive into and I definitely found this book to be incredibly relatable. I found myself being able to compare things in my life to things that were being said and just taking in the little bits of support I could garner from the story and characters. I loved the unique world and the information we get on Marked Ones and find it to be a like a breath of fresh air when diving into a Dystopian world. I'm excited to be able to continue the series and read the next book and find out which MMC happens to be my favorite. If you're looking for a relatable book that happens to have steam and some great characters that you just can't help but love in a broken and dystopian world I highly recommend this book.

Hmm I am not sure about this one. I thought the sci-fi concept was interesting and liked the beginning of the book, but man, I thoroughly hated the insta-lust mating thing. There was absolutely zero build up with Kai and Gage, at least Maddox and the new guy, Caspian, may have a more interesting story. I was actually planning not to read the rest, but I did find the ending of this intriguing.

I think I’ve decided not to read the rest :/

Futuristic wastelands, floating cities, fated mates (4 to be exact), found family, bad ass FMC, and a sprinkle of trigger warnings. (Seriously make sure to read those before you start mental health is no joke and S.E Alexander makes sure to outline them perfectly) what can i say without giving away to many spoilers.

What’s not to love about a FMC who is badass and is honest in her own self reflection. Nothing bugs me more than when an author makes FMC seem all tough only for her to crumble. With Scarlett she has a reason for why she is playing weak and it’s fully explained. Her growth is amazing she’s kicking her trauma in the butt and not letting it hold her back. Plus let not forget her loveable best friend that truly is her found family.

But let’s talk about those MMC … Where to start we have a our loveable instant connection big guys true ride or die from the moment he lays eyes on Scarlett , then there’s mate #2 our nerdy and supportive who Scarlett in turn helps to get out of his box, we then add in our traumatized alpha hole who hopefully get his redemption arch in the next book and pulls his head out of his butt. The book ends with a twist and we meet mate number 4 but it’s brief .

Overall this book has a lot of back stories but it is clear that each part is key to the underlying character development and isn’t just fluff. If you love books like J bree bonds that tie series mixed with alittle divergent you’re in the right place.

I LOVED this book (and the whole trilogy). So please enjoy my intentionally poorly written review!

So this chick. She is pretty special, well actually she is cursed - but is she really? She discovers more about herself after not-so-low-key stumbling her multiple, yes MULTIPLE, mates (we LOVE a why choose trope) while trying to navigate evil government overlords and c0rrupt!0n.

Her mates range from sweet and nerdy, to protective AF, to kind-of-an-a$$h0le who must protect his socks at all cost, to unhinged and hilarious with an interesting fear of bunnies. This motley crew is suddenly responsible for helping a r3b3ll!0n carry out a mission to overthrow the previously mentioned government overlords and make the world a little less chaotic.

Does $h!t hit the fan? Obviously.
Is this a wild ride? Absolutely.
Does the plot thicken with each novel in this trilogy? DARN RIGHT!

If you love dark hilarious urban romantasy with elemental magic and a why choose trope, then then I absolutely recommend the Leukos Trilogy. I was hooked with Marked Legacies and just spiraled my way through reading and obsessing over Vengeful Legacies followed by Mended Legacies.

Please be mindful of TWs and CWs as there is material that may be sensitive to some readers.

the idea of the plot was not bad but the execution was not great. Writing into her prologue was not bad but in the actually plot it went terrible. The dialogues are just not connecting.

About the fmc, honestly I know the public usually likes strong Fmcs but this was waaay too much. “I broke his arm to remind mind not to hug me” to her bff btw *rolling my eyes*.
There is no chemistry with the main characters.

Great Start

**SPOILERS**

Scarlett is an assassin. She was taken in and trained after being found beaten nearly to death. The woman she thinks is her mom is an abusive beyotch who regularly abuses her along with her “boyfriend.” Eventually Scarlett escapes and finds her first “marked mate.” The bond is pretty instantaneous since she is a “marked one.” Marked ones were deemed too dangerous and powerful and were all but exterminated by the high council. Eventually Scarlett and Kai (her first marked mate) reach out to a hacker named Gage who turns out to be the second marked mate of Scarlett along with Gage’s best friend Maddox (who is a total a-hole to Scarlett), and denies the bond. Scarlett comes to realize that there is a very real rebellion happening and that they are fighting back against the corrupt council. Book one follows Scarlett as she learns about her heritage, powers, her mates, and joins the rebellion. **Book Two** I’ll only state a few things here. It picks off where book one finishes. Scarlett goes through some awful stuff, but finds another mate, Caspian. I mention book two here because I was really disappointed by how little groveling Maddox did - how easily Scarlett kid of “took him back” and accepted him.

**THOUGHTS/SPOILERS**

This book mentions sci-fi elements but honestly it’s much more fantasy/dystopian than sci-fi. Other than the mention of hover crafts there isn’t much sci-fi happening in book one or book two. However the world building is pretty solid, and the story is engaging. I lied Scarlett a lot, and all of her guys with the exception of Maddox. I thought he was a tool, and it should’ve taken Scarlett a lot longer to forgive and “accept” him. Yes he had baggage/a story, but frankly they all did, and none of them treated her as terribly as Maddox did. I could’ve accepted it if Scarlett had made him grovel longer, and held out. She’s such a strong, fierce character that it makes no sense that just seeing him get shot, and then hearing his “sob story,” is enough to sway her into forgiving him. Other than that, the rest of the characters are interesting and unique enough to hold your attention. Caspian especially is fascinating with his bloodthirsty psychotic ways, lol. I love “dark” morally gray MMC’s!! If you enjoy fantasy/dystopian RH’s with interesting powers and dynamics then this is a series you’ll want to read!!

This book is AMAZING! Futuristic Dystopian Wasteland with Floating Cities that give you Divergent vibes. A FMC that’s had enough trauma in her life already but is still a total badass. Scarlett reminds me of Celaena Sardothien from Throne of Glass. S.E. Alexander does a great job of listing trigger warnings. I was blessed enough to be a beta reader for her and even asked to be an arc reader as well because I just had to read it again.

This is a reverse haram book with fated mates. It has found family, multi pov, badass FMC, a best friend who can always lighten the mood, all mates have touch her and die vibes (but with individual characteristics), #1 mate is the overprotective one, #2 is the sweet techy one, #3 is the total alpha hole and the #4 a shock that you only get a glimpse of at the end of the book. This is the first book in a trilogy and ends on what I have decided is the worst AND best cliffhanger I’ve read in a very long time. I am chomping at the bit for book #2!!

I know that when you first start reading you will not agree with me on this next statement and you’ll wonder how I could say this but I’m hoping by the end of the book you will agree with me and join me on Team Maddox! I can’t wait for you all to meet Scarlett, Jeremy, Kai, Gage, Maddox and Caspian along with the rest of the wonderful characters in this incredible world of Marked Legacies.

Marked legacies by S.E Alexander, a dystopian world, 4 fabulous fated mates, touch her/him and die vibes, why choose and a laundry list of trigger warnings (please make sure to read them before starting). This book was so good, I could not put it down.

The FMC scarlett  is a real badass with/without her mates which I appreciate, nothing is worse than a badass FMC who goes all damsel in distress when she finds her mates, her trauma is intense and as she learns to let it go she only grows stronger. We also meet her found family and best friend, he is witty and funny and offers her unconditional love and support.

The mates: Mate #1 the tall hunky guardian type who instantly falls as soon as he lays eyes on scarlett and gives us all the wonderful touch her and die vibes. Mate #2 is the lovable nerdy supportive one who helps Scarlett find her softer side. Mate #3 is the alpha hole, who doesn't love bad boys with a whole lot of trauma drama. Mate #4 we only get a peek at.

I loved the world building and the backstory that keeps  the book moving along and is not just filler, I devoured this book and am so glad I was chosen as a alpha reader and can only hope I am chosen for the rest of the series because I can't wait to get my hands on them.

This is easily one of the best books I have read this year! This dystopian world captivated me from the very first sentence of the book. Scarlett is a strong and sassy FMC that doesn’t anything from anyone. This was my first fated mates book I have read and am now going to look for recommendations because i absolutely LOVED it. Scarlett’s mates are just the right balance (minus one because you meet him right at the end). That cliffhanger nearly killed me!

If you like mated mates(more than one mate), strong and independent FMC, touch her and unalive vibes, and dystopian worlds you need to check this book out!

As it being a trilogy, I hope to learn more information on Elena. She started the book strong and likable and then something happened but you don’t really find out. I want to know more, maybe get inside her head a little bit and see what went wrong and see if maybe she will redeem herself (because who doesn’t love a character redeeming themselves).

I hope to arc read the next book because I need it right now!

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

This book was very well written with twist and turns. You meet Scarlett and she has been through so much with being a race that is hated. Then you meet her best friend Jeremy and her trainer Kalvin. You learn that she has a very particular job and she is a bad ass at it.

In this book Scarlett has 4 mates that you meet. Two of which she is fully bonded to and 2 that she has not. You will fall for her first two mates and the third will piss you off. The fourth you meet briefly.

This book ends on a cliffhanger and I can nor wait for the second one to come out.

Great job S.E. Alexander

Pleasantly surprised

This was a recommendation to me, at first I wasn't sure if it would be for me because I'm not to big into sci-fi, but this book was reminiscent of the bonds that tie series by J Bree and the gifted connection series by sm oliver. Both which i loved. This was a very good, interesting read. The author did a great job of pulling you into the story and characters. I was sad to see it just recently came out so the series isn't finished because I was ready to binge it, but this was a great start and I'm intrigued as to how the rest of the story will progress and can't wait to read the next additions.

Despite its many flaws, I genuinely enjoyed this book and plan to dive into the next one. The concept and overall plot were engaging enough to keep my interest from start to finish, and the world-building felt thoughtfully crafted in a way that elevated the entire story.

That said, a lot of the dialogue and character moments veer into some seriously cringey territory. It’s a common struggle for many RH authors, and this book is no exception.

Still, even with those issues, I had a great time reading it. The ending hits with a pretty tough cliffhanger, and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where the next book takes things.

Small spoiler!!!

I loved it. When i started reading it i couldn't put it down. The FMC had so much going on within and around her, she was the opposite of weak. Loved it! Totally recommend this book. I had a small attack of happiness when scar and kai shared their first kiss and she marked him!!!!! And then to find out she has 4 mates!!!!? Why choose when she can have them all!

This book is a real great read with a strong plot and well written characters in a futuristic world. I would highly recommend reading this if you like a strong female lead who also happens to be a badass.

I enjoyed reading this book and it was something else in a good way that was really interesting read for me.

This series is the best I have read this year!
Sci fi, RH, assassin fmc, post apocalypse, aliens, found family, fated mates! No loose ends. Paced well.

Seriously this series are books 167-170 (it’s April) of the year and in my #1 spot.

So so so good

To say I was hooked from the start is a complete understatement. I honestly don’t know how I’ll handle waiting for the next book! The world building was fantastic. The character development was just about perfect. The interactions between the characters is absolutely real. I NEED MORE!!! I’m dying to know what happens with everyone we’ve met in this book. DNF

The prologue promised a good book, but just as the actual story began, all went downhill. The writing was mediocre and juvenile, which just took all the enjoyment of reading the book.
