PANIC 2

Rate this book
A year ago, while I was being hunted by a cult, a man named Logan Perdue went missing at Two Pine Falls, a famous waterfall hike in the area where twenty two other people have disappeared. Now it’s up to me and a detective from Stadton City to try and find them, but in these mountains, where the people who have lived here their whole lives talk about things like banshees and smoke wolves, going off trail to find a missing person can lead to things much worse than a twisted ankle. Darkness lingers high up on these peaks and what’s inside of that darkness, the old folks around here will tell you that only your most vivid nightmares could make you begin to understand. What those creatures don’t understand; what they don’t know, is what I've been through and where I've come from. The things done to me make every fiber of me want to lash out and scream. I watched my whole family die before being put into a cage match with a god. What they don’t know is that i could kill everything in this entire forest if i wanted to. If they want to challenge that, let them come; although as my grandmother used to say, be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.

Thank you very much for the opportunity to read PANIC 2. I absolutely loved it!

It begins with a captivating backstory about Michelle Walker and the history of the antique coach gun, which effectively sets the tone for the rest of the book. The constant presence of Loretta Lynn's music adds an incredible touch.

Fast forward to the present, where Heather remains determined in her search for Logan. The transition from the uncertainty of what Heather witnessed to the familiar presence of Melissa, a character we already know and love, was effective in getting the reader back in the state of mind for more chaos.

The relationship between Melissa and Gil, who is connected to Heather, flowed together seamlessly. It was never difficult to follow, nor did it leave me feeling confused.

The way it ended was mind-blowing! There couldn’t have been a more fitting way to end the book.

If you liked Panic there is no way you won’t enjoy Panic 2. I personally liked the second book more as I found there to be some truly terrifying scenes if your mind can imagine what is being described. What I enjoy about the authors writing is just how different of a topic from any horror book I have read. It takes you out of the typical reality of most books which is refreshing.
