Montana Born Rodeo Series
Selah Davis loves her life as a journalist in Seattle (or so she says) but on a rare trip home to Marietta to cover the Copper Mountain Rodeo, she confesses to her best friends over drinks that her one regret in life is not sleeping with her high school boyfriend, Levi Monroe. Into the bar walks Levi, also home for the rodeo. When her friends dare her to proposition him for a one night stand, she’s at first appalled… but the more she thinks about remedying her one regret, the less she can get him and their electric chemistry out of her head. Selah’s always been her parents’ good daughter. Would it hurt just for one night to be a little bit bad?
Levi Monroe is ready to settle back in Marietta and start his own rodeo school teaching others the techniques that have made him a star. He doesn’t want any distractions during his last rodeo where he aims to win All Around Cowboy, but when his high school sweetheart – the one woman he’s never been able to forget – comes along and offers to rewrite their history, it might just be an offer too good to refuse.

This was a lovely novella about taking a chance on a second chance. Not that Selah was looking for happy ever afters with her high school steady. After all, ten years down the track she had her career in the big city and he was a small town cowboy kind of guy.

Only the chemistry that made resisting him so difficult all those years ago still sparked and she was a big girl now, not scared of what people, most especially her parents, might think.

Levi was a sweetheart right from the get go, but he still had a tiny bit of resentment stored up over their breakup. How was he going to take Selah's plan to rewrite history with the one boy she regretted not going all the way?

Egged on by her best buddy's, Selah embarks on what should be a simple get him out of her system weekend...what happens as a result is very sweet...and hot.

The books I've read so far in this series are all sweet short reads with a strong small town feel.

I would recommend this book to anybody who loves a cocky cowboy who is all sweetheart underneath. I love Levi and Selah together and I am so happy they both got their happy ending.

Levi and Selah used to date in high school but Levi wanted more than just lazy kisses and petting. Selah told Levi she was saving herself for marriage but the reality was, she was just scared. Scared of disappointing her preacher father and mother, the way her sister did. Levi and Selah break up after that.

Selah is a hot shot journalist now in Seattle but is in town for the Annual Copper Mountain Rodeo. Levi is back in town and has plans to start a school for teens who want to learn about cowboy sports. Selah's one regret in her life is that she never slept with Levi, so what does she do....she propositions him to rewrite the past. I though "Tease Me, Cowboy" was a quick, feel good romance about second chances and since this is the first book I've read from Rachael Johns. I will be checking out her previous books.

I love second chance love stories and I have a (ahem) soft spot for cowboys so when I saw this was a story featuring both themes I was all over it.

Selah has left her small home town, her preacher parents and her true best friends to live and work in the city as a features writer on a magazine. She has friends and a good job but she's kind of dissatisfied with both, feeling like she's in the wrong job and not being true to herself. Her magazine sends her back to her home town to write a feature on the cowboy rodeo event that's held there every year, giving her a chance to reconnect with all of her old friends and the sights and sounds she misses so much from home.

Over a few drunken Cosmos she tells her friends about 'the one who got away' - Levi was her high school boyfriend and her first love and she's always regretted not trading in her v-card with him.

As luck would have it, Levi - now a hot, strapping cowboy - is in town for the rodeo. He's decided this will be his last rodeo because he's looking to settle down and find true love.

Yep, that's a hot, strapping cowboy who's looking for true love. You don't get much more perfect than that.

He's still mad at her for not giving it up (although imho it's high time he got over that) and she's determined to experience what she missed out on in her youth and turn her fantasies to reality.

This was narrated in third person, but switching between alternating povs and I struggled a little with that - I think I would've felt more connected to the characters if it were fp narration, but that's just me. I also found the writing style a little stilted at times, a bit like reading the cliff notes summary of a scene instead of really feeling like I was there, smelling the smells and experiencing the atmosphere around them:

Selah spent the next little while telling her friends about the subjects of her story.
They ordered another round of drinks and some onion rings to share, and as the liquid went down, conversation turned to the things the four of them regretted in their lives.

The smut was pretty hot and the chemistry between Selah and Levi was fine. I liked the way this story ended, but it was a little abrupt - it really took me by surprise, but that's not always a bad thing.

Overall this was a fairly decent read for anyone who likes cowboy romances with a little smut thrown in.

*I was gifted a copy of this by the publisher via netgalley in return for my honest opinion*

TEASE ME, COWBOY is, as the title suggests, a ‘Cowboy Romance’ and my first attempt at reading this romantic sub-genre. To be perfectly honest I have not been big on cowboy westerns, or cowboy anything really; and it was only because I admire Rachael Johns’ work that I trusted her enough to give the genre a go. Well I really, really enjoyed it, it wasn’t all creaking saddles and yeehaa’s as I feared. The story is set in the small fictional town of Marietta. This town was created by a bunch authors who have formed ‘Montana Born Books’ and have all written a number of books set in this town. The founder of the group, Jane Porter, invited Rachael to guest write this novella for them and several of the characters mentioned in TEASE ME, COWBOY have appeared in their own stories. Of course now I am no longer a cowboy romance virgin I will have to look these other stories up.

TEASE ME, COWBOY is a second-chance love story, Selah and Levi had their chance and walked away from it. Now a dare gives them the opportunity to make things right. Something that you don’t think is going to happen after their first dinner together. Despite the shortness of the story (it is a novella after all) there is depth to our loved up couple and enough information about the support cast to feel like you have known them all forever. The romance was believable – I mean they were picking up where they left off and feelings had been smouldering for years – and the sex scene was not gratuitous and fitted into the flow of the story.

Thank you Rachael Johns for converting me to another area of romantic literature – at least I think I thank you – my credit card is whimpering though.

This novella was so much fun. I really liked how Selah’s reasons for not being with Levi before weren’t just because she was a good girl of god-fearing parents. She had her reasons then for what she didn’t do, and she likewise has a good reason now for what she wants to do. Poor Levi doesn’t stand a chance.

Levi was interesting. A good guy, who’s seen and done most it by now but who just wants to settle down. I have to admit I didn’t always agree with the way he went about things, then again Selah doesn’t exactly treat him fairly either. Still, he does own up to his mistakes and there’s a refreshing lack of angsting and soul-searching on both sides. This might be thanks to the short length not leaving any time for that, in which case good!

Filled with the excitement of the rodeo, with a little frisson of heat running through, this was a quick, fun read in a setting I’m really coming to love. I do enjoy a good second-chance romance and Selah and Levi’s was particularly nice to read, without feeling too rushed at the end. Marietta is just full of so many good characters, with so many interesting stories waiting to be told – I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Johns has a very approachable, easy to follow writing style that draws you to the storyline, and allows for easy immersion into the tale itself. Not only that, but the fairly realistic (if sometimes stereotypical) portrayal of a rodeo weekend in a small town caters to those of us who grew up around the equine industry. Johns doesn’t make up her facts. She may not give an overly in-depth look at the life of a rodeo cowboy, but she gives a quirky and enjoyable portrayal of this one.

The history between the two main characters really made this story. The past hurts and grievances that led to their current insecurities are essential components of who they are. The fact that they were well developed entities in and of themselves made it even better.

This novella had my heart pounding & my emotions in my throat. Johns drew me completely into her world of rodeo and didn’t let go. It was a quick, racy read, perfect for those times you want something light and real.

A cute story about high school sweethearts reuniting

Selah Davis loves her life and job as a features editor for Charisma in Seattle. She is back in town to write a story about cowboys and interview with country star Jake Kohl. While she is catching up with her old friends at Grey's Saloon, in walks her old high school boyfriend, Levi Monroe. The hottest guy she knew at Marietta High School. She didn't know he was back in town for the rodeo.

Levi doesn't need any distractions if he plans to win big at the rodeo so he can retire on a high note. His future plans are to settle down in Marietta and open a school to teach young cowboys all the tricks.
When he sees Selah is back in town, everything changes. He hasn't forgotten her or their prom night, which didn't go as he wished.

Can they keep a professional relationship or will they give in to the desires they have both held on to all these years?

Marietta, Montana works it's magic again in Tease Me, Cowboy by Rachael Johns. This book is a sweet romantic novella. Selah Davis who works for a magazine in Portland is in back Marietta to write an article about the Copper Mountain Rodeo. While having drinks with friends, Selah mentions her biggest regret involving her first love Levi Monroe, when lo and behold Levi walks into the bar.
Even though it has been ten years since they saw each other, it's obvious the spark is still there. You need to read this book to find out Selah's regret and the journey to a HEA. I wouldn't mind living in Marietta, Montana myself if it were a real place. Tule Publishing just keeps putting out wonderful books!

I thought this story was beautifully written. Not only did I fall in love with Selah and Levi but also with the town of Marietta. Selah returns home to cover the Annual Copper Mountain Rodeo and runs into Levi, her first boyfriend. To realize that after ten years the same feelings between them still existed, is amazing and scary at the same time.

Selah Davis left her small hometown in Montana behind long ago and now works as a journalist in Seattle for a magazine. She’s on a rare trip home for the Marietta Rodeo where she’s going to be interviewing the country and western star special guest as well as a few cowboys. Over drinks with her best friends, Selah tells them she’s been working on a more serious article about regrets. She confesses that her regret in life is not sleeping with her high school boyfriend, Levi Monroe.

At that moment, Levi walks into the bar. He’s also back in Marietta for the rodeo, competing in what is going to be his last before setting up his own business. He and Selah haven’t seen each other for a long time but Levi has never forgotten her. He’s supposed to be aiming for top honours at the rodeo but he’s distracted already by Selah….and the distraction is about to get worse!

Selah’s friends dare her to proposition Levi to a one night stand to rectify her greatest regret and Selah finds herself blurting it out. If she can get this done, she might be able to put Levi out of her head and move on. But Selah, the daughter of a minister, has always been the ‘good girl’ and one night stands have never been her thing. She’s older now, so surely she can get through this without putting her heart in danger…surely?

Tease Me, Cowboy is a fun romantic novella from Aussie author Rachael Johns that makes up part of the Copper Mountain Rodeo Novellas by Montana Born Books series where all are set in the fictional Montana town of Marietta. You can read any of them stand alone but the characters do appear in other books, although in supporting roles so there’s reward in reading them all as well. I have only read this one and although I didn’t suffer for not knowing anything about the town and who everyone was, there were definitely a few characters mentioned that really interested me and I’d love to go back and read their stories now!

Selah Davis is back in her hometown for the rodeo, doing some interviews and catching up with her best friends. The daughter of religious parents, Selah was always the good girl growing up, especially after what happened to her sister. This caused a few bumps in her teen relationship with Levi Monroe, because he was keen to go all the way and although she was too, there was something always stopping her from taking that final step. They ended up breaking up and haven’t seen each other since….until now.

Not taking that final step has always been Selah’s regret and now she has a chance to fix it. Selah and Levi have a lot of fun interactions in this novel and I appreciated the dinner that they have, which allows them to get to know each other all over again as a lot of time has gone under the bridge! They are able to catch up on each other’s lives and find out that they still have things in common and that the conversation still flows. It isn’t just all about getting down to business! I have to admit that I felt Levi’s hang up about Selah not gifting her virginity to him was something that he really needed to get over. They were teenagers and she did have every right to say no if she wasn’t comfortable or ready. Punishing her for it over a decade later did seem a bit silly and I think Selah took it in a far more good-natured way than I would have in her position!

I enjoyed reading this and I enjoyed the community too – I actually just tried to buy the bundle for the first few novellas but the link seems to be broken so I need to see how I can get them all onto my kindle and read about all of Selah’s friends and the hot cowboy types they find love with! This is both sweet and saucy and although it’s quite short, there’s enough done to flesh out the two characters and give them the groundwork they need for their happy ever after.

A new Rachael Johns book is always a momentous occasion in my household. People start asking me weeks in advance to make sure I get the book ASAP on release. So it was very timely that Rachael asked me if I’d like to read her first book about cowboys, as I’d been Amazon-stalking her to try to get a copy to quieten the masses. Of course, that meant it was mine to read first!

Being Australian and not having much experience with cowboys beyond Forgetful Jones in Sesame Street, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. How would an American cowboy compare to my favourite rugged rural Aussie boys? In the end, I worried for no reason. Cowboys are hot, hot, hot and definitely worthy of hero status. Levi, the cowboy and hero of Tease Me, Cowboy, is smart, clever, caring and a genuinely nice guy. He also looks good on a horse and in a pick-up truck. After reading this book, I think it’s lucky for the cowboys that I’m tens of thousands of kilometres away!

Tease Me, Cowboy is a novella sized book that introduces us to the Montana Born Rodeo series and Selah and her friends. Selah’s now a journalist in Seattle on a women’s magazine, but she’s come home to Marietta to cover the rodeo for a story and spend some time with her besties. She’s a bit sick of writing about handbags and beauty products and a night with the girls is just what the doctor ordered. The other girls appear to be pretty happy in their relationships, so single Selah is the one out. Discussing regrets, Selah reveals to the group that she wishes she’d slept with her high school boyfriend, Levi. Naturally, Levi chooses that exact moment to walk through the door of the bar which means Selah just has to follow through, doesn’t it? Attempting to reconnect with Levi under the guise of a story, Selah realises that the spark between them has never died. Can she sleep with Levi and move on? Or is that spark about to becoming a roaring flame?

Rachael Johns makes an excellent debut for Tule Publishing and her work translates to the American setting brilliantly – she’s got the slang and setting down pat. The story is an engrossing read and a comfortable length to read in one sitting (because once you meet Levi, you won’t be putting this baby down). The story is a great premise – regrets (we’ve all had a few) and the chance to change things (another thing we’ve always wanted to do) makes me as the reader feel empowered – if Selah can do it, so can I! I also liked that there had been previous sparks between Selah and Levi (ah, first love) which lead to scorching moments. There are also some good teasers for future books – like what is going on with Chelsea? (Selah, you really should have called that girl – something is happening!) The rodeo setting also gives the chance for plenty to happen plot wise – action and romance combined.

I wasn’t too sure about cowboys previously – but now I’m definitely a fan. I’ll be looking forward to reading more in this series (Kiss Me, Cowboy by Melissa McClone and Cherish Me, Cowboy by Alissa Callen are coming soon) now I’m a converted cowgirl!

Thank you to the author for the eARC of this book.

To the world Selah Davis has achieved the success she always wanted. She is a top journalist for a popular women's magazine and absolutely loves her life in Seattle. Home in Marietta to cover the 76th Annual Copper Mountain Rodeo, Selah wastes no time catching up with her childhood best friends celebrating the lives and loves they have found for themselves. After many drinks Selah finally admits that her one regret in life was NOT sleeping with her high school sweetheart Levi Monroe. This revelation sends the girls into a flurry of plotting to help Selah gain a second chance at a one night stand...because Levi just walked through the door.

Even after all of his success on the Rodeo Circuit - and with the ladies - Levi Monroe has never quite gotten over the hurt and shame of walking away from the best thing a teenage boy could have ever wanted. Selah was always his one true love and seeing her laughing with her friends at Grey's Saloon brought back too many memories to handle. When she approaches him the next day to interview him for her article he decides to take advantage of a chance to spend more time with her...and maybe plotting for a second chance of his own.

The characters in this story are familiar and fun. As the first book in the second Copper Mountain Rodeo Series, there are many returning characters from the first series. Chelsea, Sage, and Jenny are all on there, as well as some other characters we have come to know and love over the last year. Em, Sam, and Cole McCullough, and Marly Ackers are featured players; Rachel (Murphy) Vaughn and Reese Kendrick both make appearances, as well.

The heart of this story is solid. Regrets are awful things, but acting on regrets tend to make things worse. Selah honestly believes that a one-night stand will solve everything, thanks to the convincing of her friends, who I don't believe for a second actually ascribed to this notion. Levi seems to understand this perfectly and is fully prepared to barter for more than just one night. I loved AND hated the dinner/hotel scene for the same reason: it was passionate and childish. Levi wanted to prove a point and he did, but at a cost to Selah's pride. The one scene that made of for this was the final rodeo scene. No spoilers, but the chaos of that scene just seemed to work.

Overall, this was a good read and a great start to yet another great Montana Born series.

My Review:
A lot can happen and change over the course of a weekend. This book is a quick little read about former high school sweethearts, Selah and Levi. They haven't seen one another since high school but for Selah, Levi is her one regret. She wishes that he had been the one she gave her virginity to so many years ago. Levi has his own regrets about Selah, but just in that she was the one he let get away. The book takes place 10 years later as they are both in their old hometown for the rodeo.

Overall this is a sweet little novella. Levi is on the verge of changing his life and moving back home. On the surface, Selah is living the perfect life, but has moments where she questions why she's still working a job that isn't as fulfilling as she'd hoped. She can't change much about the job, but decides that she can change something about her regrets of the past and decides to proposition Levi. The story flows from there. For the most part, I did enjoy the book and liked the two main characters. I liked and found the whole story line of Selah's one regret very believable since I have a similar regret. I liked that aspect of it.

I will admit though...There was a single action by the hero in the middle of the book that really kind of threw me. It was really immature and it definitely hurt my overall impression of both the book and the hero. Luckily things got back on course after that, and I enjoyed the rest of the book. But I wish that hadn't happened. I would have been much happier with the story without that event.

It was see these two get a second chance at love and I liked the way the author worked it all out for them. It sounds like there are a whole series of these books. This one works completely as a stand-alone, but it did make me curious about the other stories. Montana cowboys? Heck yeah!

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

In Tease Me, Cowboy by Rachel Johns, journalist Selah is back in Marietta to cover the Copper Mountain Rodeo and catch up with her friends. On a night out with the girls talking about their big regret, Selah confesses her regrets about her high school relationship with Levi. He wanted what she wasn't ready to give...and Selah had big plans. Selah has done well for herself, even if her career is satisfying but not challenging, and not one many people take seriously.

Levi is back in Marietta also. This will be his last rodeo before he retires, and he's got plans of his own now. Getting together with Selah was not part of his plan, but she's going to try to convince him otherwise. Even if it is just for one night. Will Levi indulge in their mutual attraction? Neither one of them is looking for forever, but seeing each other again has brought back all the old feelings. Coming home to Marietta gives them both a chance to re-evaluate their lives and where they want to go. Will it be together?

Tease Me, Cowboy is a fun, fast paced second chance romance. I loved the connection that Levi and Selah have, and the attraction is palpable. Selah is mature, knows what she wants, and is going to go for it! Selah has some issues of her own, between family and her career. Adding a hot cowboy to the mix is not what she expected to be doing in Marietta, and I liked how all parts of Selah smoothly fused together. Levi has grown a lot since his high school days, and in different ways he's still looking for more than Selah might be able to give. I really like the maturity of these characters and how they deal with what's happening.

It was great to revisit Marietta and see some of the characters from previous books. I love the small town feel and the rodeo. Rachel's descriptions easily transported me to a place I'd love to be.

Rich with emotions and entertaining, I'd recommend Tease Me, Cowboy to any romance reader looking for a quick, well written book.

Initially I was so excited to read this book as I am a huge fan of cowboy books but this one didn't quite hit the mark for me. It took a very long time to get to the point of it all, which was for the two main characters, who were a couple in high school, to finally have sex and considering it was a book that could be read cover to cover in less than 2 hours that's saying something. When it finally gets to this point it becomes extremely immature and not something that could really hold my interest.
When they dated in high school, Levi, the hottie of the school wanted to take it all the way with Selah, however Selah wasn't putting out. She literally had the fear of God instilled in her from her Pastor father and very religious mother. Eventually, being a typical teenage boy, Levi ends things with her and tries to move on. He never met anyone though that made him feel like Selah did. Selah regrets not giving her virginity to Levi. She regrets being so scared to have sex, so when they meet up again years later, she offers him a night, one night to right the wrong, to fix a regret that has plagued her since high school. All this being said, I don't want to add any more and give too much away, but I do feel that due to the adult content of the book, the seeming immaturity of the main characters and the rather juvenile way of writing seemed out of place. I had the thought that the author was undecided what type of book she wanted to write, or rather what her intended target audience was as, as I said, the adult content of the book seemed at odds with the writing style. The book really does have a lot of potential but it really needs to be given more meat to the story and matured up a bit. The grammar and spelling are great and the story isn't a bad story at all. The characters have some wonderful potential. I just really don't feel, they were developed to their full potential.

TEASE ME, COWBOY by rachael johns
He doesn’t want any distractions during his last rodeo where he aims to win All Around Cowboy, but when his high school sweetheart – the one woman he’s never been able to forget – comes along and offers to rewrite their history, it might just be an offer too good to refuse.
cowboy novella called TEASE ME, COWBOY and is possibly the most fun I've ever had writing a book. TEASE ME, COWBOY is a first loves reunited story, which is one of my favourite romance tropes ever.
where did Selah Davis and Levi Monroe meet?
What was it about Selah that attracted Levi ?
who is Selah first-love cowboy?
does Selah return to Marietta to stay?
TEASE ME, COWBOY by rachael johns is 4 stars book.

Tease Me Cowboy by Rachael Johns is a wonderful novella about a second chance at love. The main characters, journalist Selah Davis and cowboy Levi Monroe, were high school sweethearts, and even after over ten years of separation, they still carry a torch for one another. They are both interesting, charming and full of small town spirit. This is the first book I have read from this author and it definitely won't be the last.

Selah, a writer for a popular Seattle-based lifestyle magazine, returns to her hometown of Marietta, Montana to cover the annual rodeo. She is excited about the assignment but yearns to report on more serious topics. Being home and surrounded by her very best friends, causes her to think about high school and Levi, the one that got away. Her one regret in life is that she never slept with him.

Levi is considered a top contender in this year's rodeo and he is looking forward to competing. He has decided to settle down after the event and lease some land in order to open a rodeo school. Every time he visits Marietta, he remembers the good old days and how Selah left him with intense sexual need. Yet to this day, he has never found a woman who compares to her.

There is magic in the air the moment Selah and Levi see each other for the first time in the local saloon. Ms. Johns creates unbelievable sexual tension between them, and I never stopped hoping that they would end up together. Ms. Johns writes with a lot of passion and I truly felt each and every desire, sob and smile from the characters. Overall, a good read.

Tease Me, Cowboy is a rodeo take on the taking-the-chance-you-wished-you-had-taken-years-ago kind of story. I am not sure I think of it as a second chance since if Luke Monroe and Selah Davis had taken the chance in high school, I think they would have still parted ways. This is because both of these characters are written as work oriented personalities with very different career goals. Now years later they are both ready for something lasting even though Selah still thinks work is enough for her in the beginning of this novella. How they come to realize that the friendship and love that they had as high schoolers is still alive and burning hot. Luke and Selah finding the adult version of the teenager that they loved makes it a very enjoyable read.

In fact, I love Levi and Selah together, seemingly bringing out the best in each other. This shows how Rachael Johns does a marvelous job of pulling the reader into the outcome of their renewed connection. Also there is an unexpected dramatic twist near the end that adds to this story. this is my first read of a book by Rachael Johns but now she is an author whose books I will seek out to read.

On the Montana Born Rodeo series, I had enjoyed another book in the series, which is why I wanted to read this one. However, the stories are not really connected except by the rodeo. Each is easily a stand-alone read. Each accomplished author has a different style and different voice. I enjoy the variety that this set up provides.

NetGalley provided a copy.

Montana Born Rodeo Series

Tease Me, Cowboy, #1
By Rachael Johns

This series is written by different authors, the first one is Tease Me, Cowboy, By Rachael Johns.

I started this series by reading the 2nd book in the series first, and thought wow I really like this series of books. So I then read the 3rd book, now I read the 1st book, and hopefully in the future will read the 4th book soon.
This book starts with Selah Davis, coming back to Marietta Montana to cover the Copper Mountain Rodeo and she meets up with her friends who she had grown up with. She had left after high school for college then on to a journalist career in Seattle. While back, she runs into her high school sweet heart, Levi Monroe and she felt the feelings she had for him 10 years ago in high school as they never really finished their relationship.

I loved how the author built the characters and I felt emotional connected to them and wanted things to work the way we want them to. I loved the ending. I Can’t tell you, you will have to read for yourself. I also love how these series kind of bring events that are in the other books, but you don’t have to read the other books to know what is going on, you can read them as a stand-alone or read them all.

I am not familiar with these authors or even reading cowboy books, but I really enjoy the books. The first book has some swearing in it. The other 2 didn’t. You don’t have to know anything about cowboys or rodeo’s to read these books. They are all fairly good. Just have a want to read a good romance book.

I really liked the story of Levi Monroe and Selah Davis. I have decided that second chance romances are my favorites. I love to see a couple have the chance to make it right, and actually do it better the second time around. This was the case with Levi and Selah. With the wisdom of age and experience, they are able to see and appreciate the things in each other that draw them together like heat seeking missiles. They have enough experience with other people to know that what they had was special. I love that - AND the fact that they are both still single and able to act on their feelings without all the usual drama and baggage.

Selah is an independent heroine and knows where she has been, and where she wants to go. She has realized her dreams of being a journalist for a big publication, but is unfulfilled. Levi is on his last rodeo circuit after a successful career. He wants to return to Marietta, settle down and open up a rodeo school. He and Selah are both at a crossroad in their lives when they come back to each other. Perfect timing.

Tease Me, Cowboy is a cute, short, fun weekend trip to the rodeo, with some hot and steamy romance thrown in for good measure. It allowed me to take a short break from reality - and that's what reading is all about for me. Give it a go. You won't be sorry!

Selah is a girl that grew up in a house with a dad for a preacher and a sister who got pregnant in her teen years so she though she needed to be he good daughter growing up. She feel in love with her high school boyfriend but when she was to scared to lose her virginity to him after prom they broke up and he moved away. She then moved out of town and became a writer for a magazine in Seattle but made trips home every now and then and this time she's doing a story on the rodeos, but over drinks with her girlfriends she tells them how her biggest mistake is not haven slept with Levi, so they tell her to go for it, and she wonders if she can.

Levi is done living his life on the road, he wants to settle down and start his own business and find someone to have a family with, so when he walks into the bar the last thing he though he would find was his first and only love. She approaches him the next day and after awhile blurts out she wants a one. Isn't stand, he says yes, but when they have dinner and he takes her to his room he leaves after the first kiss,

With emotions flying. Love in bloom, and what it's going through their heads they find their way back to one and other or will they pass up love once again.

Selah Davis left Marietta to become a journalist. She has a great career as Features Editor for a big magazine in Portland with lots of perks. She should be happy, right? Back in Marietta to do a story on cowboys during the Copper Mountain Rodeo, she admits to her friends that her biggest regret is her first love, Levi Monroe. Of course, just as she admits it, guess who walks in to Grey's Saloon? Levi is in town for the Rodeo, but has decided that it will be his last and he plans to settle in Marietta. When he sees Selah, he still feels the attraction he felt in high school.
Short, sweet, and more than a little hot, these two have to decide if their second chance is for one night, or will can they turn it into something more?
Selah and Levi are fun characters. Both have careers, but are dissatisfied and ready to move on and find their place. I love returning to Marietta for a new Copper Mountain Rodeo, especially since the story is full of so many beloved characters from past trips. It was exciting to catch up with the characters and see where Selah and Levi fit in, and Rachel Johns did an excellent job in this aspect.

Tease Me, Cowboy is a story about a second chance at love. Selah Davis was with her friends and she ended up confiding to them that her biggest regret was not sleeping with her high school boyfriend Levi Monroe. They end up talking her into propositioning him for one night. Well, that one night doesn't go as planned. Levi loved Selah and when the opportunity to get a little payback for all the times she left him high and dry in high school presents itself he takes it. I really enjoyed this story by Rachael Johns. It was a great addition to the series and a quick read. The one thing I don't like about novellas is how short they are. This story, like most other novellas, could have been expanded into a full length novel. Luckily for the reader, the length of this story doesn't make it feel rushed. It also brings back characters from other books in the series, but not in a way that those who haven't read the other books would suffer. It is a sweet story and one I recommend to all romance readers. I'd give it 4 stars and I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

Of course,as she admits it, Levi walks in to the saloon. Her friends dare her to proposition him for a one night stand. At first she can't even think about it but the more she thinks about it, the more she intriguing it sounds.

Levi is in town for his last rodeo before he retires and starts his own rodeo school. He is wanting to go out on top and win All Around Cowboy but will his high school sweetheart, Selah Davis, be too much of a distraction to refuse.

This was the first book that I've read by Rachael Johns and I look forward to reading more of her books. If you like reading second chance romances with cowboys then give this quick, well written book a try.

I was provided with an ARC of this book by Tule Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

It's no real secret - I have a total weakness for red-headed heroes. Give me Fassbender and his ginger beard any day of the week. So when I heard that the lovely Rachael Johns had written a flame-hair fox, I was in like Flynn.

On top of that, the whole second-chance romance storyline totally has Roz-catnip written all over it!

......

I've got to say I have really enjoyed - nay, loved! - the Montana Born Books so far. Wonderfully entertaining, fabulous characters and a setting you wish you could immerse yourself in. Rachael's addition to the 76th Copper Mountain Rodeo series is no different - a fun, sweet and sexy romance with a couple you can definitely cheer for.

Tease Me, Cowboy is a lovely feel good novella.
Selah Davis left Marietta 10 years ago and is settled in Seattle as a journalist. She's come back home for a rare trip to cover the Copper Mountain Rodeo and has a chance to live out the one real regret she's had in her life...to spend a night with her first love Levi Monroe.
I found this story really engaging and although some characters are featured in other novella's, that doesn't detract in any way and it can easily be read as a stand alone, as was the case for me. I thought the first half of the novel a little slower but I'm sure that it was because the characters were being introduced and set up. The second half seemed to race by (maybe that was because it was a little hot and steamy!) as we discover that Selah's and Levi's feelings for each other have never really disappeared.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for a copy to review.

**I received an ARC in exchange for my opinion**

I love the second chances trope. This is a great story about not only a second chance at love, but also finding a place to call home. Selah left town to pursue her dreams of being a journalist while Levi has earned his way on the rodeo circuit. Back in high school, they were a couple--they had love, shared dreams, and had teenage fun. Now both are back in town, she's covering the rodeo for work, and he's having his last rodeo, hoping to go out a star and start his own school. A chance to face her biggest regret leads to a proposition, and once that relationship is stirred, it ignites to fiery passion. Is it a tease, or the beginning of a new future? Both find opportunities in Marietta, and the fates have their way! Finding love the second time means no regrets!

Selah Davis was a small town preacher’s daughter, the good daughter. Her sister was the hell raiser after all. Levi Monroe on the other hand didn’t really fit in. He only arrived in town for senior year and even then only because his mom had had a stroke. The two didn’t seem to fit and yet they became “the” couple. However on prom night when Selah wouldn’t, Levi walked and broke her heart. Now ten years later at the Marietta Rodeo Selah is back and perhaps it’s time to give Levi what he wanted so much back then.

I love returning to the Marietta Rodeo. Ms. John’s has captured the spirit perfectly in this short story. While it is part of the larger series where we learn more about her friends and about the town it can be read as a standalone. The novella has everything from passionate romance, jealousy and even a hint of mystery. A great quick cowboy read.
