I received an ARC of this lovely book in exchange for my honest opinion. And here it is. I really enjoyed it. This is the first book I've read in the "Liberty Series" by Ms. Nolfi, but the stand alone novels don't require that you read them all or even in order. I finished in an afternoon, it is an easy read and one that I could not put down. The characters are well developed and relateable, the stories were entertaining and touched my heart. I look forward to reading the rest of this series, and more from Christine Nolfi.

Christine Nolfi, author of Four Wishes has written an entertaining novel. It is an easy, short read ( I read it in an afternoon) that promises tears and happiness, nice descriptions and dialogue and family and friends who demonstrate love and caring.the characters are very likeable and reveal their thoughts and past feelings with honesty. I especially enjoyed Meade, Mary and Hector. The book title and cover are enchanting.
Thank you Christine for the ARC copy of Four Wishes. I personally will be looking forward to your next novel..

There is a baby boom in Liberty!! The fourth of the Liberty series is all about people growing, adapting to new life. Of course with change comes heartache. Growth is awkward and at times quite painful.
While all these books stand alone, I have loved reading this series in order for the pleasure of watching the characters evolve.Meade was the best surprise for me. I thought I had her all figured out. I was tickled to find that there were surprises in store for me!

"Often the most pivotal events of life passed by unnoticed, the importance hidden until much later."

"Four Wishes", is the last book of Christine Nolfi's "Liberty Series". Her books are cozy-comfy-reading with a wonderful community of characters.... And a community to long for a little yourself. I've said from the 'start', from the first book of the series, that it would be easy to visualize a movie being made from Christine's stories.... And they have a 'little' "Mystic Pizza" feel to me. (A movie I've watched at least 4 times).

It was fun to visit 'the Gang': Birdie, Hugh, Meade, etc. and celebrate their joy, transformations, just be a little part of their lives. I'm going to miss my "Liberty Friends"......(unless, time for that movie???)....

Christine is a natural storyteller. An author who obviously has much to contribute about living in a community.

In this 'last' book, a stand out character was Meade this time around: capable, accomplished, a business maven, a "don't mess with me" type of woman. Watching another side of her blossom like my favorite flower, the peonies, was inspiring to all strong will, self-protective-souls. Meade stepped outside of her comfort zone..... Trusting & taking a healthy risk.
A reader must at least ask themselves ..."and when have I"?

My Thoughts....

This is the fourth book in this series, but that's okay. Why? Because they are all stand-alone stories. And as always I enjoy Christine Nolfi's stories. They are always feel-good stories with light-hearted romance. This time around Meade was having trouble adjusting to a committed relationship with Hector, even though they only have eyes for each other. Their relationship is not a "Cinderella" happily-everafter kind of fairy tale romance. It had its ups and downs.

This book was like reading about friends you haven't visited in a while and catching up with all the happenings of their lives...weddings, new babies, business affairs, who is new in town since the last visit, etc. Let me just say....for me it was an enjoyable two days of reading.

A great big THANK YOU to Christine for providing this ARC copy of "Four Wishes." I enjoyed it enough to award it "Four Wishes Upon a Star" Stars.

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading and reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers and authors I am under no obligation to write a positive review.

I absolutely love Nolfi's writing style. It's so heartwarming and down to earth.

I've read the three previous books in the series and loved all of them. Each one stands on its own, and Nolfi gives enough of each charater's back story that reading the previous books isn't critical to understanding who's who and what the relationships are. I never quite took to the character of Meade, but here in the fourth book she really starts to shine and become much more likeable. It was wonderful to see her relationships with the other characters take off and blossom. The romance between Meade and Hector felt very real.

As the series progresses, it almost feels like the town of Liberty is becoming a character. We get to know more about it, both the good and the bad. It has it's struggles, like most small towns in the US today, but it seems to be determined to thrive.

I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

I was provided an ARC of this work in exchange for the review, but it in no way shaped the review. I was planning on buying the book as soon as it came out.

I received an ARC copy of this book via the author. Christine Nolfi has done it again! Four Wishes captured my attention just like the previous books in the series (note: I have not yet read The Impossible Wish). The book was a fun, quick read with a great deal of humor and realness. I felt transported to the quaint Ohio town of Liberty (which I secretly think might not be too far from where I am currently living). I love the characters and their little quirks (especially Blossom's Christmas tree and glitter covered posters; she sounds like my best friend's niece). I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a solidly Chic Lit read about friendship, love and family.

4 Stars for Four Wishes. Christine Nolfi's artistry with words shines once again. Through the pages of Four Wishes the people and places of Liberty, OH come alive and the characters become your friends. It was nice to visit with old friends, get to know others a little better and make a few new friends.

Get ready for a population explosion in Liberty; babies are increasing an at an alarming rate. I think they need to get the water tested! While this story is mainly about Meade Williams, there is plenty of catching up on Mary, Anthony and Blossom (which I thoroughly enjoyed, I'd been missing them). Hugh and Birdie play prominent roles. You'll get to know Landon Williams and more of the tragic history of Meade's family.

Four Wishes is a wonderful weekend read. It's entertaining and heartfelt characters will tug at your heart. There's only one issue that I have, but I can't tell you. I will be talking to Ms Nolfi, though.......

Four Wishes is happy, it's sad, it's very well written. I'm meeting great people who feel like next door neighbors. Another great story, Christine Nolfi!

I've now read all four books in the Liberty Series, and am enjoying them immensely. So many authors use a formula to write books in a series and it becomes predictable. This is not the case here. All four books in the Liberty series so far have had very different story-lines, which is a refreshing change. This series is a must read, as far as I'm concerned.

My first book by Christine Nolfi and I really enjoyed it and look forward to working my way backward through the series. It's hard to classify. Chick lit? No. Women's fiction? Well, probably. Quick read and getting into the characters was effortless. Even though this is #4 in a series, it's easily read as a stand alone.

A great and perfect summer read!
I had the honor of proof reading the final edition before this book is about to be printed. Maede, Mary, Birdie, Glade, Reenie, Landon, Hector, Hugh, Theodora... all of these characters are crocheted with love for the detail and make the story something special.

Loved it! The inside of this book is just as beautiful as the outside! I really loved the characters, especially the compassion and empathy they shared with one another. So happy that Meade and Birdie became the loving sisters they were meant to be. What a beautiful story!

This was an excellent book. I loved the storyline an character. development. I have read other books in this series and it os not necessary to read them on order. The continuation of the story with new focus really Kelsey the readers attention. I hope that you enjoy this book as much as I did!

3.5 star read

Four Wishes is the fourth book in The Liberty Series set in the small rural Ohio town of Liberty. As with most small towns, Liberty is a place where everyone knows their neighbor (and their neighbor's business), and everyone is eager to pitch in when there's someone in need. Four Wishes starts with Meade trying to plan a wedding for her sister Birdie in less than three weeks. She must do this while running her business and dealing with her seriously depressed and paranoid father. When it appears that Birdie isn't really taking an interest in the final planning of the wedding, much of the final decision-making is left up to Meade. She handles it with ease. Meade hasn't been sure about what she wanted from life other than a successful business and to be a good daughter, but now wants what Birdie has: a loving man and the thought of a growing family.

Birdie is anxious to get married and is willing to have a picnic dinner rather than the formal affair wanted by her father and organized by Meade. She knows that this is their way of helping out, so she gives in. All Birdie really wants is for her sister to open up to her and for them to grow closer.

Dr. Mary Chance is struggling, and juggling, the responsibilities of a growing medical practice and family life. Her husband is happy to help out around the house but is eager to grow their family (an idea that is strongly encouraged by his daughter Blossom). When Mary gets pregnant she wants to keep it a secret, but before she knows it the entire town is celebrating her pregnancy and her stepdaughter is researching baby names. Mary is cautiously optimistic that things will work out for the best with this pregnancy, but she worries that her superstitions about not declaring a pregnancy until the second trimester might foreshadow tragedy.

Glade Wilson is happy to be away from poverty. She's grateful to her Aunt Reenie and to Meade for taking her in. She knows that without an education she may never make be more than the working poor, but she's taken the first step to starting a new life. Now that she's faced with the imminent arrival of her baby, she worries that she'll be a good mother and how much pain childbirth will bring.

On the surface, it may be difficult to see what a teenager, two thirty-something professional women, and one forty-something entrepreneur have in common. It quickly becomes evident that they all want the same thing, love, and a family. They all may be going about using different methods, but the end result is the same for them all. Meade seems to be the one with the most: a privileged childhood, wealth, beauty, brains, and independence, but looks can be deceiving. Meade is the one that needs just as much help as the others. She needs to know that she can be loved for who she is as a person, not what she brings to the table. She needs to know that it is acceptable to not be perfect and no one really expects perfection from her.

Ms. Nolfi has, once again, crafted a story that spotlights the joys and sorrows of love, friendship, and family. Four Wishes provides great romance and family drama while dealing with some weighty issues such as teen pregnancy and depression. These weighty issues aren't glossed over but dealt with in a realistic and respectful manner. I enjoyed Four Wishes, as I enjoyed reading the previous books in this series. I found Four Wishes to be a fast-paced read that made me smile, frown, and want to cry. If you enjoy reading contemporary fiction with realistic characters dealing with realistic problems, then you'll definitely want to add Four Wishes to your TBR list.

I see a lot of myself in Meade Williams. A single woman, never married, focused on her work, her family, and her small group of friends. She's no longer in her twenties and has left her thirties behind, as well. It isn't that Meade has forsaken love and romance for fear of rejection or to heal the wounds of lost love, but rather she has chosen to care for her father - who has never been the same since her mother's death - instead of focusing on herself and her heart.

At first, so many characters in Four Wishes seemed to me to be so . . . mean to Meade. I felt protective of her; defensive for her. As the story unfolded, I almost felt a sense of vindication when Hector (especially) discovered the softness and vulnerability Meade has hidden under a shell of detached professionalism. In my eyes, Meade - more than any other character - was deserving of love, attention, and tenderness. She so deserves Hector, and his courtship of her won my heart along with Meade's.

I know the story of Four Wishes is about more than Meade, but she shone in my eyes and stole the story away from the others on the character canvas. Author Christine Nolfi is a stand-out among today's authors, writing with a more formal voice than others of her genre. Not to mention winning the award for creative character names! It took me a chapter or so to acclimate to her style, voice, and tone, but, once I did, I thoroughly enjoyed the writing.

Four Wishes is an emotional, character-driven story of love, family, and friendship. It's a refreshingly sweet book that I'm glad I had the opportunity to read and review.

I received a copy of Four Wishes from the author in exchanged for a fair and honest review. The free copy has not altered my opinion or influenced my review.

The Liberty series is a particular favorite of mine. I get excited when I know there is a new book in the series being released. When I had the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this forth book, I jumped all over it. I am so pleased to say that I absolutely loved it.

The books in this series are all written as stand-alone stories and have unique plots with definite endings. They can be read and enjoyed in any order. I have had the pleasure to read the books in the order they were released. As such, I have gotten to know and love the characters and their stories. I was very happy to be able to get to know Meade so much better in this book. I will admit that, in the past books, I had a hard time understanding her and didn’t like her much. She really surprised me and I really grew quite fond of her. I really enjoyed the dynamic between her and Hector and loved watching the relationship between Meade and Birdie evolve.

This book really pulled at my heartstrings and I have no problem recommending it. There were occasions to celebrate as well as those to grieve. There were old friends as well as new. It is a characteristically quality read written by a gifted storyteller.

This was my first foray into Liberty, Ohio and I really enjoyed it! I don't read a lot in this genre but the author hooked me immediately with the drama and tension of the new visitor, Glade, the dynamic between Meade and her sister Birdie as well as the other main characters and the setting itself.

The relationships rang true and the stakes were high from the outset. I enjoyed the setting of the estate as well as the town and it felt real to me which is the mark of getting lost in any good book!

There is joy in Liberty but sorrow too. Blossom, Theodora, Hector, Landon and many of the other main characters all have challenges and I felt a real connection with all of them. As their lives unfold and events take place, I was invested in the outcome. I look forward to checking out the first three books in the series!

A beautiful, heartwarming story of growth, of learning to let go and evolve.
This is book 4 in the series but can be read as a stand alone, I hadn't read the others and fell in love with the town of Liberty with just this one.
Four Wishes is well written, the characters could be your best friends or relatives, the story flows well keeps the reader engaged.
If kids, cooking and cleaning hadn't gotten in the way I'd have read it in one sitting, I couldn't wait to get back to it every time I had to take a break for life!
Book 4 made me fall head over heels in love with Liberty and I look forward to reading the previous books to see what I've missed.
A sweet five star read, I can't find anything wrong with this book, it has plenty of emotion and feels real, this could be my small town.

My first book by the author but it won't be my last. What an awesome story! I had such a hard time putting the book down because I had to keep finding out what would happen next. Never a dull moment in the book but have the tissues handy their are a couple of sad parts to the story. Christine makes her characters come to life and I felt like I was right there in the town of Liberty with them. I just loved the ending of the book. Now to go back and read the other books to the series.

What's in the water?

For a small quiet town there sure are a lot of women getting pregnant, some who weren't even sure they could! This book is a mix of family types, complete with problems and surprises of everyday life. A little romance, a little arguing, and a way of small town busybodies coming up with inventive solutions.

This was an interesting book for me. I thought the start was awkward, but after pushing through I enjoyed the book very much. My problem with the start was with the way the author switched between characters and introduced them to the reader. In each chapter there were sections with a markings between them letting you know things were switching. While this became helpful, in the beginning it was hard to understand. The author introduced fully formed characters and expected the reader to understand them. For me I like to watch a character grow. At the end I realized that this was part of a series so that explained the developed characters. The two characters that I got to see grow were Glade and Meade they were very interesting characters and I liked the almost mother daughter feeling from them. Glade arrived on Meade's door as the pregnant great niece of the house keeper. Meade is looking at Glade sobbing and being soothed by the housekeeper, Meade is concerned about her father who doesn't like noise and strangers. He likes things his own way. Meade's half sister Birdie is getting married and Hector a friend of the couples and Meade don't really care for each other. As they run into each other they grow on each other. As the wedding reception is in full swing a song is played and Meade's and Birdie's father goes crazy and slams out of the house with Meade right behind him, at the boat house Meade catches up with her father. As she tries to take him by the arm he moves his hand in a jerky motion and hits her in the face. Hector was looking for Meade and her father after the party and was told that Landon was asleep, by this time he knew that there was something wrong with Meade he goes out looking for her and eventually finds her by the lake. When Hector finds Meade she is sobbing and he holds her and soothes her, and they end up making love. As the story progresses we find that Glade and Birdie are pregnant, then the town Doctor Mary and finally Meade finds herself pregnant. The story goes on with secrets and dreams. After the first couple of chapters the book settles down and it starts to pull you in. I have decided that I want to get the other books in the series and get to know all the characters from the start. Enjoy Four Wishes I did.

4.25. "Some of life's greatest blessing come disguised as hardships."

This is the 4th book in the Liberty series, and we return once again to see heartwarming stores of love, friendship, found families, and life as it unfolds for each of the characters. Pregnant teenager Glade arrives in town unexpectedly and is taken under the wing of Meade, Birdie’s older half-sister. Meanwhile Hugh and Birdie are almost at their wedding day, and Hector is trying to find out what comes next for him now that Birdie’s mother has been captured and his services as a bounty hunter are over. Dr. Mary is finding her solo practice a bit overwhelming. For this book, we follow these four different women (Birdie, Meade, Glade, and Mary) as they face their future and wishes for what that may look like. Meade runs a successful company that does not leave time for a personal life. Glade has literally run away from her family to find a richer life elsewhere. Mary considered expanding her family in the near future. And Birdie is embarking into a marital relationship and hopefully will become closer to her sister Meade. Living in a small town is to be connected to people in a more personal way, rather than digitally and/or electronically. And this quality is readily apparent in the town of Liberty. I cannot wait to read book #5 to see how all the characters move forward. A wonderful series for sure.

"What's inside a man's heart is more important than the cash in his wallet. Some of the noblest jobs in the world don't earn much. It's work of the spirit, more valuable than chasing money."

Four Wishes
by Christine Nolfi

c.2014

Meade Williams is 40 years old. She is the owner of a multi-million dollar company, who has spent her life taking care of and trying to please her retired banker father Landon Williams. Now she finds herself facing more changes than she is able to handle in her usual manner - just toughing it through.

The half-sister she has only known about for a year is getting married and the best man for the wedding rubs her the wrong way. Still she must work with him. Her sister has no idea how to pull of the kind of wedding expected from one of the town’s prominent families. To top it off she finds out just before the wedding that her sister is pregnant and several people have been made known about it before she was.

Life is rife with changes, and Meade must deal with them. How does a person who feels she must be in control of all the aspects of her life and the lives of those around her cope when she realizes that she is not in control? Watch as Meade learns to be flexible and finds that she actually can enjoy life without being in control. It isn’t an easy trip, but Meade makes the ride successfully.

I enjoyed this contemporary romance. It’s a very nice read.

I received this book from the author through Choosy Bookworm for my unbiased review.
