The newest The Breakfast Club Adventures and this time it is KARMA for bullies. But this is also sadly the last book for me.

And that is for various reasons. I am a big Scooby Doo girlie, I watched all the shows and I think most if not all the movies. From kid on and still I am a big Scooby Doo fan. But why the whole is it a ghost or is it not works there and not here is because at least they don’t FOCUS fully on it. They know that there is probably someone underneath the mask. Plus, we also got that one SD serie where the ghosts/beasties are real.
However, I am just getting tired of these DUMB kids constantly going for supernatural causes and NOT EVEN entertaining the thought that it may be a human. I mean with Scooby Doo you at least can have the feeling something spooky might be going on, here in this series it never does. Always there is a mention of a beastie and SUDDENLY MAGICALLY OUT OF NOWHERE the case is all about that. It just weird. Plus, that Stacey just immediately goes for her BOOK OF LORE instead of thinking logically. I mean in this one it took them until page 178 of 230-240 to maybe consider the goblin being a human???????????? WHY???? It just gets on my nerve. The gig was fun the first time round but now after 6 books and never once was it a supernatural cause or obviously feeling supernatural it gets annoying.

Plus, as a girl who has been bullied I really HATED that everyone was helping the bullies. I was all aboard on the Goblin train. I know that isn’t how a good Christian girl should be (as one should always have kindness for everyone), but you know given all I went through I am just not feeling any kindness towards ANYONE bullying another person. SO yeah, I didn’t want the Goblin to be caught. I was actually just eating an imaginary bucket of popcorn each time the bullies got some comeuppance. Oh heck yes. Let them feel how it feels. I was constantly curious to see how each one of the bullies would get a slice of karma pie.

Oh, and the TALK TO A TEACHER. OH dear fucking lord, you know I heard that as well. And I know what happened when I went to talk to a teacher about things. Not so fun things when people found out you snitched. I did tell teachers sometimes but generally it was best to keep shut.

Oh, and as with previous books, I knew the whodunnit from pretty much the start. After that chat with that supernatural professor. After seeing THAT person not being happy? Boo, I knew what was going on. And I was just laughing my butt off when at the end everyone was SHOCKED to their cores. OMG it is that person???? WOWWWWW. And I was there like giggling and rolling my eyes.

Yes, so far this review has been super negative, I am so sorry. I really have loved/liked the series. But it is just always the same. Not to mention the way the investigators NEVER get the culprit until the end and then are surprised, boo how bad are you at this stuff?

But hey there are also good things. Yes. Yes there are. Marcus is a sweet character and I love how he tries to help out people. How he asks his mom for advice and listens to it. I love how he tries to better himself when he notices that he didn’t do something right or if he feels that he could have done better.

I love the illustrations by the amazing Marta Kissi who is one of my TOP illustrators.

I love the soccer stuff that happens in between things. Learning new things, matches, and friendship, it always warms my heart and I just love it.

I also love the friendship between the characters and how close they are. And yes, they are terrible at the mysteries, but I do like that they try their best and help out their fellow students and school.

I loved the science fair! We don’t really had anything like that but I always love the sound of it in UK/US books. I would have loved that.

So yeah, lots of negative points, but there were also some good ones. I won’t be reading this series further and I am glad that I got this book from the library (magically in English even, what is happening?) otherwise I would have been disappointed even more.
