Witchwolf is an M/M paranormal romance between an oblivious young mage (Dakota) and a broody alpha-werewolf CEO (Jax).
Dakota is a virgin and, unbeknownst to him, he’s also a very rare kind of mage, whose powers manifest with full-force after he and Jax spend a steamy night together.
Adding to the surprises (for both men involved), is the fact that, on the morning after their spectacular hookup, Dakota begins his new job at Jax’s company.
So, we have a serious case of insta-lust, an outstanding sexual-awakening with a side of magical powers, and an absolutely present (but definitely ignored) forbidden office romance between a CEO and his new employee.
It also has growly, protective mate moments, interesting (but fairly limited) world-building, unique werewolf and magic lore, and solid found family/pack vibes that I gobbled up with glee.
Although it’s fairly short in length and fairly surface-level in terms of character and relationship depth, I enjoyed myself immensely, zipping through the pages with ease and eagerness.
I certainly wouldn’t be mad if this story expanded into a larger PNR series.

I'm not so much into mages, but werewolves? Yes please.
One protective alpha wolf + one oblivious, magical virgin = a spectacular awakening, family found and family lost, lots of sushi, and a HEA (even if the ending felt rushed and abrupt).
I wish the characters had been better developed. The antagonist, in particular, was a walking caricature.
While this book is rather predictable and sadly lacking in world building, it's also fun and sexy. Sometimes, that's enough.

A nice story about found family. You know right from the start what you get and what you can expect story-wise and there's a nice twist about magical awakening by loosing ones virginity. Sometimes it's more than okay to read a story that is nothing more than a nice and easy pastime and also doesn't pretend to be more. It's just that the characters are lacking to really enjoy that pastime. Dakota is supposed to be a shy virgin but everything he does is anything but, Jax is obviously overloaded with his role as possessive alpha and I wouldn't even call the antagonist a character.
And as an afterthought there are also 2 random questions: can you call it a book about shifters when no one is shifting and why the heck is Dakota living anyway?

I just finished reading this book. I will give it a 5/5! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Dakota is a recent college graduate who goes out by himself one night. He goes to a werewolf club and meets Jax. They go back to Jax’s home and do what people do. The next morning, Dakota discovers that Jax is his new boss. They cannot keep away from each other. Soon after strange things start happening to Dakota. He then learns he is a mage. His power was awakened by Jax. But mages and shifters don’t get along. But these do get along quite well. Dakota had to learn to use his power to protect himself and Jax. I really enjoyed this book.

Witchwolf is the story of Dakota who thinks he's human and Ajax a werewolf. Dakota wants to loose his V card so goes to a club and picks up Ajax. The next morning he finds out he slept with his new CEO boss and magic is real. I can't say much about the story without giving spoilers but what I can say is I loved it. I loved the characters and world building, I loved the spice, and I loved the plot. I would definitely recommend this book. I can't wait to see what Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes come up with next.

So... I really liked this.
Cute story, with a pinch of magic, a hint of overly protective alpha, a smidgen of werewolves and pack dynamics, a wee bit of distrust and speciesism, a dash of found family, and a touch of yeah-I-saw-that-coming-from-a-mile-away.
Would recommend!

I love misunderstandings in books. Not miscommunication but when one character thinks they all talk weird or do weird stuff, because he has no clue that supernatural beings exist and the other one just assumes he is in the know. I don't even know how to describe it properly but it makes me feral. We get it here for a good chunk of the book and it's *chefs kiss. I especially enjoy it, if the supposed human is weirded out of the use of alpha. I love it.
This book was absolutely great. A new favorite for sure.
The storyline was interesting. The whole 'oops my hookup is my new boss' trope isn't my favorite but it is done well here. I love that Dakota isn't some shrinking Violet. He really became confident in himself. Jax was perfection. Even though he was the alpha and the CEO of a successful business, at the end of the day, he is just a big sweet puppy. He is probably my favorite alpha, the best one i ever read.
Their love for each other was very fast but super duper sweet.
I think some conflicts were resolved too quickly. Or I just wished we get to see more of what happend to the bad guys but oh well.
Onto the next book in this, I guess, duology.

This was a good start of the series. I want to say yay POC Mc!!!! I love these two and there chemistry. I wish we didn’t just get a surface level character development. I wanted more depth in the characters. I felt like the I love you was a bit rushed and the things I really wanted to see the characters work through were off page. That being said I did like the book. I loved the side characters, and the background plot. The found family was nice too. I would totally read the next book.

This was another book that I went into blind and ended up pleasantly surprised. I can honestly say that the premise of this book was extremely unique. Well, it was to me.
We meet MMC Dakota Morris when he makes the decision to lose his virginity (he is a college graduate) and heads out to a club that none of his friends frequent, well, at least he doesn't think they do. He picks out the perfect person for this job - Ajax Fyse.
Imagine his shock when he starts his new job and discovers who the CEO of his new company is? Yep, you guessed it. I don't want to give out too much information because it is fun to experience everything the way it unfolds. Let's just say that being Ajax's employee is the least of his worries. Why? Because Ajax is a werewolf and not just ANY wolf. Nope, he is the Alpha.
To top that off, Dakota also has some abilities. The problem is, he is clueless about anything having to do with the supernatural world - and he definitely has no clue about magic. Oh, and another thing...... he doesn't believe that werewolves are real.
Talk about a world changing experience.......
This was a very fun and interesting journey as both men attempt to navigate some pretty unusual circumstances. I liked both of the characters, and the plot held my interest the entire time. I did my usual of alternating between the audio version and the print version. The book was narrated by Greg Boudreaux and Mark Montgomery and they both did a fine job.
I am not sure, but I think this is the beginning of a new series.
Will I be continuing? Absolutely.

It’s a freak out for both of them but they end up dealing with it. Dakota starts to like his job even if his coworkers refer to Jax as “Alpha” and make weird comments that seem off.
This was an interesting listen! I enjoyed the fact that Jax and the rest all fully believe that Dakota is in the know and is aware that he is a mage and they are werewolves. It makes some of the conversations humorous. Dakota is cute and fierce and won’t let anyone put Jax or his new coworkers down. Kinda cheesy with a villain who was a cliche, cringey caricature, but also fun and super cute.
I feel like a bit more depth would’ve elevated this quite a bit. Also, it felt like this was a patreon book, released chapter by chapter, and I always get a weird vibe that’s hard to describe from that. Like the story isn’t as fluid or something.

I loved this original story, for its world building, the writing, and the characters. The plot was engaging, with romance, spice, action, intrigue and found family. Dakota grew up not knowing who he really was; even so, he adjusts quite quickly to the new world he finds himself in. I would have liked to have found out a little more about his adoptive parents, how he came to be with them, and whether they will figure in his new life. Jax is a kind and protective werewolf alpha who is negotiating a deal with a powerful mage family from Japan. He hires Dakota as an interpreter, completely unaware of what the effects of his decision will be. The MCs are both very likeable, as are the other members of the wolf pack and some of the mages. It's an entertaining book and worthwhile reading, but I must say that you will seldom go wrong reading a book by these authors.

Just Meh.
If you are a fan of those Chinese Short Dramas, then this book is for you. It hits a lot of the tropes that are found in those. Adopted child not treated well, accidentally sleeps with his boss without knowing it was his boss, keeps the company from going under, discovers real parents were CEO's of the "Largest Corporation" in the country. It has it all. Cheesy as hell and fairly obvious in the plot outline (again, only if you are a fan of those mini dramas).
It was quite funny some of the misunderstandings that happened. But I don't think I need to read the next book in the series.

Not going to spend much energy on this because I simply didn't like it. The worldbuilding was pretty nil. The characters were fine but very surface. The plot was weak and predictable. I am a crazy fast reader and hardly dnf because of that (it takes me a day to finish a book so I usually just say fuck it and finish since it doesn't cost me a lot of time) but I almost dnf'ed this simply because even a couple hours seemed too long to be that bored. I'd never tried these authors and I don't suppose I will again.

I love this writing duo! Everything they produce is wonderful.
Dakota is a virgin and goes out to lose that pesky virginity, meeting a handsome guy who helps with that. Jax is a werewolf who meets a beautiful Japanese man and takes him home for some fun, finding out he’s a virgin. Another win for this duo! Highly Recommended

When I read the blurb for this book I immediately wanted more, the premise just sounded really interesting to me. I mean, a mage not knowing he's a mage? Or that he exists in a world full of paranormal creatures? That's a really exciting concept! And I have to say, this dynamic duo did an excellent job with writing this story, and these characters.
From the very beginning I was pulled in to Dakota's world, and was able to learn more about him and his life. He's 22, a college graduate, about to start a high paying new job, and he's determined to lose his pesky V-Card. Little does he know that unforgettable night is going to change everything. The aspect of Dakota having no idea the paranormal world exists yet is somehow drawn to it was written in an intriguing way. It never felt fake or dubious, he genuinely had no idea what he was, or what the people around him are. Yet, somehow, he was being drawn to areas where other paranormals are, the bar and his job being main ones. I liked how that was handled.
As for Jax.. I know he's a wolf but I'm inclined to call him a teddy bear. He's the Alpha of his pack and as such he's determined to provide the best he can for his pack members. He needs to keep them safe, and if that means he can't have a mate, so be it. Until Dakota walks into a Wolf bar and sweeps him off his feet. With Dakota being in his life we get to see a different side of the gruff Wolf. He cares deeply for those around him, and even though him and Dakota just met, he tries his best to take care of the new mage as well. Which is super sweet.
Now as far as pacing goes... I loved how this story had a seamless flow to it. Even when more information kept coming to light, and when other characters interfered, the story still just flowed flawlessly! I liked how things didn't happen too fast, (yes, they slept together early on but it took them time to build it after that.) and I also appreciate how certain events weren't too drawn out either. It was just a well written story that I'm very sad is over. I want more of Jax and Dakota! I have to say, when Dakota changed and found out he was both a mage and a wolf, that moment was written in such an incredible way. There was a lightness to it while still continuing the seriousness of the moments leading up to that happening. Really well done!

I fucking loved this. Idk what else to tell you. This was adorable. Silly geese, more so Jax than Dakota, but very precious silly geese. The side characters were also phenomenal, and I wouldn’t have minded a longer book to get more of the stuff we didn’t see on page.
4.5/5. Serials are just such an excellent format. I can’t wait to read the next one when it’s finished and turned into a book.

I absolutely enjoyed this and read it in one sitting. Dakota is living with roommates and decides to go out on his own. He ends up at Howl, and knows this is a place his friends don’t visit. After meeting Jax, they end up going to Jax’s place. Jax, is an alpha wolf, and Dakota is a human, maybe? The next day when Dakota goes to his new employment, he realizes that he Jax is his boss. This started the story with how Dakota learned about the supernatural world and that he is part of it. I love how they could not stay away from each other. Great world building, heat and chemistry between them. I definitely recommend you reading this story; you will not be disappointed.

I'm not even sure why I finished this book. I knew from the first chapter that it was nothing like the book this was recommended to and I knew I was not going to enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, I like a spicy book but the amount of time they spent naked and together maybe should have been invested in the plot.
This book spent way too much time in establishing the main relationship that did not need spelling out. We get it, they like each other. Did they not have any other personality? I don't understand how the alpha of a company who has supposedly fought their way out and up into society could so easily cower.
I suppose I was on board there at the beginning since I like a werewolf story. Unfortunately, this did not end up as good as I had hoped. Don't think I'll be reading the rest.

Had potential
The sad part is, the book had great potential, but unfortunately, somehow between two authors, they failed the plot's potential. The biggest annoyance of this book is the massive, and I do mean massive, amount of internal dialogue. The characters' conversations are so choppy because you have to read paragraphs worth of thoughts in between them speaking. And some scenes just didn't make sense at all, you know when an author who isn't funny tries to write a funny scene? I felt that was the entire book.

I started writing a review that was longer than the book itself. Just don’t read it. The scenes are random and the info is thrown from left field on things you didn’t expect to need to know about. DNF chp 25 and I don’t know why I kept trying to get that far
