Sophie Bennett, mayor of Regency Bay, California is devoted to her quirky hometown, with its mix of Austen-inspired place names and cutting-edge conservation. She definitely knows better than to date another summer guy who'll be gone in September.
Sam Trowbridge, freelance photographer, spends the summer in eclectic Regency Bay, gathering background material for a movie. Always on the lookout for the next adventure, falling for a lovely lady mayor in a summer town was never part of his itinerary.
He’s not ready to put down roots. She’s not ready to have her heart broken again. Neither of them planned on falling in love.

What do you get when twenty-first century environmentalism meets a Regency-themed California coastal town?
A delightful, heartfelt romantic comedy.
Sophie Benett is the young mayor of Regency Bay, a California town known as much for its cutting-edge environmental practices as for its Jane Austen-themed special events. Between cosplayers and romance writers, Sophie has little time for herself, let alone for romance. That is until she meets Sam Trowbridge, a freelance photographer on assignment for the summer.
A refreshing approach to the summer romance genre, You Otter Be in Pictures, is flawlessly written. Ms. Berberich has crafted a town, its residents and visitors (many of them charmingly quirky), with the precision of a surgeon.
Our hero and heroine drive the story and the romance. Sophie’s concerned for her town—the events, the safety of the buildings, and the otters and their special place in the environment.
Sam’s concerned about Sophie’s welfare. He brings her lunch spontaneously because he knows she fails to eat when she’s busy—and she’s always busy.
This story isn’t without its bad guys. A ruthless real estate developer wants to turn Regency Bay into an updated, modern tourist trap. And the editor of a local newspaper would love nothing better than see it happen and is out to discredit Sophie.
You Otter be in Pictures is original, clever, and romantic. And it’s the perfect way to celebrate summer. You otter pick yourself up a copy.
It was my first book of the Author and it didn't disappoint. If you go for this summer read you will definitely get the vibe. It is so easy to imagine Regency Bay and its summer. And a lots going there - both regency related and environment wide. And mayor - Sophia is definitely the busiest person there. Not surprised that Sam, photographer finds it uneasy to get her attention. Especially when she is not fan of summer flings. It was funny, entertaining read that engages you from the first page - with balls, otters, turns and twists and all complications on the way. Just sit down, festen your seat belt and keep reading to find out how these sweet characters will navigate through the storms of complications. Loved characters and their friends and families who actively participated in Sam and Sophia's love story.

I gave it the second star because it’s a local author, and I truly support her quest to produce interesting and appealing books… but I found the characters to be very shallow, actually the whole book very shallow, and I just had a hard time absorbing the dialogue driven writing. I can appreciate that others seem to love the book. I just felt the need to be honest about what I was reading. I had a hard time getting a feel for how quickly the romance developed between the main characters and what specifically about each other drew them to each other. I enjoy other “romcoms”… especially the writings of Abby Jimenez who writes in a similar form, so I truly welcomed the opportunity to start reading this book.
loved it !! Regency Bay ... love Sophie the mayor and Sam the photographer... this is their story..... a fun fast paced rom/com Regency themed drama... Regency Bay is a coastal town in California that is very environmentally friendly and Regency old world charm... Sam is here for the summer and Sophie is the super busy mayor that has caught Sam's eye but, Sophie doesn't do summer flings and Sam is leaving at the end of summer... it's sweet and funny until... the real estate developer and the newspaper editor want to make the town into a tourist trap... so good !!! and will Sam stay ? or leave ?.
