I'm a nerd. An overachiever. A government caseworker who follows all the rules—until my newest client, a seven-foot-tall purple-skinned alien with golden eyes and a forbidden proposition, walks into my office.
When Vren announces he wants to 'mate' with me during our first meeting, I should report him immediately. Instead, I'm experiencing withdrawal symptoms whenever we're apart, going viral for defending him from xenophobes, and discovering we're forming a rare biological bond that's literally rewiring my DNA.
My job description includes 'maintaining professional boundaries,' but nowhere does it address what to do when crossing them might be the only thing keeping both of us alive.

Galactic Mates is a steamy alien romance series featuring possessive alien men, fated mates, forbidden workplace romance, and a guaranteed HEA. Each book stands alone with its own couple while expanding this universe of intergalactic love matches.
I really liked this story of fated mates. Felicity is a caseworker handling incoming Zexian warriors. She finds herself attracted to Vren, one of her clients, although that is strictly forbidden. The attraction is mutual, leading to a dilemma of whether to ignore their feelings, or lose the job she worked hard to get. Things get more complicated when an actual mate bond is formed. There is also a story thread about the prejudice the new settlers face. All in all, this was an engrossing read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a first to me author and I enjoyed it a lot. I loved how the whole story is put together you get some past elements so you never feel lost with what is going on with the characters. I so enjoyed how Vren was with Felicity. He always put her first and gave her the space that she needed to get used to the mate bond that she had no idea about. There is nothing better sometimes to get that bit of a cinnamon roll sweet story that you can't put down. I loved every moment of this story.
This was a fun read by a new-to-me author and an engaging series opener. With clear world building, interesting characters and hot chemistry, I was more than happy to follow Felicity and Vren to their HEA. I liked that the story is told in dual POVs, which really let me get into the characters' thoughts and intentions. Definitely a fun read and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series :D
It wasn't good. The dialogue felt stiff, and their interactions felt cold. We were told how they felt, but their actions didn't reflect that a lot of the time. I didn't particularly like the writing style in general, but the one positive thing was that the relationship wasn't based purely on physical attraction, though it didn't feel very deep either.
