I wasn't too sure if I'd like Sloane, yet given her struggles and her exceptional husband Jace by her side through it all, I couldn't do anything but love her.
Mourning and post partum depression are tough on their own, but put them together and one can be taken to a very dark place. This was what happened to Sloane. She pushed all her family away and had no connection to her newborn daughter. One thing I did like was that even though she was having a hard time, she cried and expressed that something was wrong, yet she didn't know what. Her sister, dad, in-laws and husband all had her back and I'm certain had she not had them, she would've been worse off.
Having a baby changes you and I'm glad the story was real in that aspect. Sloane felt the change and was reassured by her husband that she was still just as fine and beautiful as always.
Jace was the husband of the century and he wasn't even trying. He loved his wife and was determined to help her by any means necessary. He was beyond patient and affirming with Sloane. I love that his parents, even being much older in age, stepped in with helping their granddaughter with pleasure. I like that his mom recognized Sloane having post partum depression and was willing to assist her. These were some great parents whom raised a great man.
I love all the updates for the Parker sisters. I hope there's more.
This was a great way to wrap up these sisters. Great read. Highly recommend.
