Playing in the NHL when paranormal creatures came out of hiding, vampire Vin had no choice but to leave the friends, team, and sport that he loved since paranormals weren’t allowed to play with humans any longer. He’d been one of the first signed with the newly formed Paranormal American Hockey league, but the bitterness of being pushed to the side took some of the shine from playing. That is until the little fruit bat shifter hotshot rookie entered his locker room and endured himself into every part of Vin’s life. Vin’s always been protective of his smaller teammates but there’s something different about Aries, this sweet, needy boy that brings out his Daddy Dom side.
Vin is fully prepared to put everything on the line, on and off the ice, to help Aries fit in with his new team and make everything better for the boy. Daddy isn’t just a word to be used in the bedroom. It’s a way of life, a life that Vin plans to introduce Aries to.
This book features an apple obsessed fruit bat shifter and his grumpy but protective vampire Daddy. This book contains MM sexual content (men having sex with each other), Age Play, Daddy/little relationship, and age gap relations. This book is an exploration of a relationship between two (Male) consensual adults that are looking for love and acceptance. All characters are over the age of consent. No cheating or cliff hangers.

Do you ever read a book and think... why did I like this so much? That's how I feel about Aries by new-to-me author, Athena Steller.
I met this author at a book convention, and I KNEW I had to have this book. I got it in paperback, signed by the author (natch). Age-play, daddy/little HOCKEY grumpy/sunshine romance with a fruit bat shifter and a vampire??? It's like AI read a million M/M romance books and came up with an insane romance book plot... but it works.
Aries was actually adorable. It's pretty light on legit hockey details, but what else would you be getting with a book like this one? It was still just so stinkin' cute! I read it in one sitting, and found myself smiling along with the whole thing. It's also a good age-play book for those who like more silly, less-serious age play, or those just getting into the genre.
My biggest complaint is that the sexual parts of the book are underdeveloped. We needed a lot more heat and a lot more details about that aspect of their relationship. But since I bought about 6 of the authors books, I'm hoping we see Vin and Aries again in a later book in the series.
3.5 stars, rounded up for being a signed paperback and for being just an enjoyable, simple read.

Overall, the story was OK. I’m not a big sports fan reader, but as I said it was OK. The paranormal aspect was fine. This one is not one of my favorites from this author, but we’ll see how the series goes.

Oh My Goddess!!! Aries and Vin are amazing 👏 🤩 😍
I've been reading Athena Stellar since I found her first book Baby boy. This is just an amazing addition to her collection of books. If you love everything hockey and paranormal, you're going to love Aries and Vince story. I would suggest picking up this book as soon as possible and enjoying it. Vin the Vampire and Aries the fruit bat shifter with a love for all things Apple!

His struggles include missing his brothers, adapting to a luxurious lifestyle, and finding balance. Fortunately, Vin, a centuries-old vampire defenseman, steps in as a mentor. Vin, who faced his own challenges transitioning from the NHL to the PAHL, finds a unique connection with Aries. Their bond grows as Vin helps Aries integrate into the team and introduces him to a supportive dynamic that reshapes Aries's perspective on life and hockey.
This was a sweet story as Vin tried to help Aries slow down his mind and relax when not playing hockey. Starting with a friendship which then became more there were humorous moments as Vin tried to limit Aries's apple intake. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

I loved this story! First story with a fruit bat shifter and I looked them up and they are adorable and Aries was also adorable. I am not a big hockey fan but I liked how the team members looked after each other. Vin was grumpy but he was so protective of Aries and I was thrilled when he went after the player from New York who targeted Aries and hurt him badly. I expected him to be let go but only 3 game suspension and you knew the New York players were out of control. Loved Aries's brothers and his mother was a hoot. One of my favorite scenes was when Aries shifted into a bat and flew around the apartment and snatched the 3 apples even though he was not supposed to and Vin didn't know where he was until Aries chirped to let him know where he was on the curtain rod. Looking forward to the next story.

This was, for me anyway, a brand new take on a hockey romance instead of the NHL we have the PAHL (Paranormals American Hockey League) and Aries and Vin both play for the Vegas Vikings, this was such a fun and heartfelt read and Aries being a fruit bat shifter might just be the most adorable sounding shifter I have ever heard of 🫢 yay for the sky puppies 🦇 Vin is a big bad tattooed vampire daddy *melts* if all this sounds like your cup of tea, pick up Aries the first book in this series.

This story is my most recent Athena Steller book, and it did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, I loved it so much, I immediately began a reread. I didn't want to let go of Aries and Vin. They are perfect together.
Aries is a bat shifter who discovers his little side with the patient guidance of Vin, who is a vampire. I loved how unique both characters are written, and the paranormal hockey world they inhabit. The dialogue and plot are
skillful, clever, romantic and funny. Next I am to jumping into the rest of this series.

Sweet and fun read
Once again another great read by Athena Stellar.
This is a great read, where we learn about the pahl a paranormal hockey team. The characters in this sweet read are well thought out and bring a certain life to the two MCs. I can't wait to read about Aries brothers' and hopefully zany/robb/ and the mystery man spoke. About briefly. Also Matt needs a person also.

Hace mucho tiempo que no leía nada de esta autora y este libro me llamo mi jo la atención el tema a tratar: hockey sobre hielo pero con sobrenaturales.
Vin y Aries fueron una pareja interesante pero hasta ahí, no me convencieron del todo. Si me llaman mucho la atención los hermanos de Aries; Gem y Nix, y también los amigos de Vin; Zany y Robbs. Muero porque estos últimos dos tengan algo con Gem👀.

Eh ok
This book kind of bored me. It was a struggle to get through and a lot of the time I found myself feeling obliged to finish hoping it would get better (it didn't). Maybe it was kind me but the two MCs didn't seem to have chemistry. I usually love and enjoy all of Athena's books but this one just missed the mark for me. Also there were a few chapters titled Aries that actually belonged to Vince, so maybe Athena me to hire a better editor

Cute and simple - perfect for a starting gay romance reader
A little more cute and upbeat than my usual reads, this book has the potential to become a regular comfort read. Low on angst, but a little too simplistic for my usual tastes, it is definitely a good place to start if you are coming into hockey romance, kink romance or supernatural romance for the first time.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this new-to-me author continues this series.

Oh..... WOW. . Aries by Athena Stellar is book 1 in PAHL paranormal and hockey series I absolutely loved it so cute and adorable with an apple loving bat shifter Aries who's rookie in the team & Vin a centuries-old vampire who becomes is mentor and friend and then something more is daddy they are simply amazing together their bond is something special and beautiful recommend so much.

I LOVE it. My first fruit bat shifter book and its sooo cute. love the whole world building and the characters are amazing. A sassy bat and Grumpy vampire are a wonderful combination and the way they complement each other is wonderful. Can't wait for more in the series. Keep up the great work.
