I'm really disappointed in this heroine. I usually love J. S. Cooper's books but Lola has 100% descended into Harlequin hell. I had hope for this moral young college student who seems smart. I knew she was going to be taken with a smooth handsome alpha like Xavier but to allow him to so easily drag her into what he did left me with my mouth hanging open. I was wondering if with all his money he cloned her and locked the nice girl in his dungeon.

He does nothing but insult her, prostitute names, golddigger, etc. Then she still drops her panties on a dime. At this point the story means nothing to me because with his existing attitude this quick change of his is not going to stick with the cliffhanger hanging we are left with. Xavier has his issues but he is the worst kind of person. Uses people for his own ends. He sets Lola up over and over again. He puts her in positions that harm her personally and her reputation just for his own pleasure and amusement. So far in two books I can't find any redeeming qualities about Xavier. I am fast losing any sympathy for Lola. I can see going along with Xavier the first time but going back the second time when she knew what was going on???? You know the saying? You make your own bed.

Ok... it was much better than Finding My Prince Charming, but I have some issues- 2.5 stars

The thing is that I honestly couldn't be more FRUSTRATED with the author, even if I try. If it's not the change of release dates on her books, it's the quantity or format of the book. Seriously! This was going to be last book I was going to read from her because I was tired of this game!! And now there will be a THIRD BOOK? Really?! I read the ex-games, the private club and everlasting sin, and I was getting really exited with her releases. But, is too much!


Now. The book was much better than the first one. My expectations were quite high for the first one, and they weren't met. This one was much better. It had feeling. I felt it went Lola finally realizes that she's in love (that was coming and everyone knew it!). Also, I like Lola as a character, more on this one because she was able to take charge and just stand her ground. It's ok to be ruled by feelings, but in the first book it was like she had no backbone to stand on her own. One of the reasons I had big expectations for Finding... was one of the first few chapters, when he insinuate that she was a 'whore'. She stood up and walked away. And I cheered her on and wanted to see how it would later developed.

So I was quite happy with this one, up until the end when the author decide to make more money and go from a standalone to a sequel, to a trilogy!!! Who does that???!!!

The next book should be titled "Kicking Prince Charming to the Curb". He is officially unredeemable after this one. And I can't tolerate a heroine who overlooks a plethora of sins just because they managed to enjoy hanging out a time or two and have good physical chemistry. So she will be unredeemable if she does manage to forgive him. Also, who lets a biatch bait them into doing a strip tease? Huh?

DAMN!!! I was sooooo damn excited to read FINDING MY PRINCE...then I peeked and saw the ending... it was a cliff!!! so I didn't read it!! and now I have to wait til July 29 to read book 2???!?!

5 DAYS LATER....

I read it... I said I would wait... I couldn't...I just had the urge to read it so I did... the cliff...well, it's okay.. not as bad as I thought.. I could wait... thank god this is a duet!!!

Honestly, there were times throughout the book where I wished Lola would somehow end up with Tarquin. I mean he’s so much nicer and he isn’t an ass like Xavier.

“I watched Tarquin’s eyes widen as he stared at Lola in her dress. His expression held the admiration and appreciation I’d felt when I’d seen her. I hadn’t been prepared for the gamut of emotions that had hit me when I’d seen her in her dress and her small hopeful smile had frightened me. I was not interested in falling for Lola. I was not interested in love. I didn’t want my heart to tighten when I stared at her. Like now. She was smiling at Tarquin as if he were her fiancé. It irritated me. Didn’t she realize that Tarquin might take her smile the wrong way? He might think she was interested in him. I grew angry just thinking about it.”

Taming My Prince Charming will leave you speechless with your jaw on the floor! And I absolutely fricking loved every minute of it.

The fake engagement continues with Lola holding her head high inspire of many less than stellar circumstances she has to endure. Lola is trying so hard to fight her feelings for Xavier because she knows she's just going to get hurt in the end.

Xavier is making it hard to like him in this book. He has secrets and a vendetta that we don't yet know about. He is having mixed feelings as to how he's using Lola in that. Will he gain a conscience or is it too late and the damage done?

This book ends in a WTF cliffhanger and I can't wait to read book 3!

I'm dying here!!

I wanna slap, punch, kick, kiss, and have my way with Xavier. The man can drive you nuts in all ways. Violeta is a real b"#!@!!!!! I would love to go rounds with her. haha The ending is gonna drive me nuts until the next book comes out. Who came into the room? What's going on? Please dear God don't let her be stupid enough to fall for Caspers lines and make the next book all about her trying to get Xavier to forgive her when he is the one needing forgiveness.

Seriously? Wtf. Stupid fucking book. I don't get this 9 chapter book. He's trying to make an ex jealous. Or what not by taking her to a sex castle where his ex is?? The one who cheated on him with his cousin who happens to be the Prince of the aformentioned castle??? He thinks he loves her at the last 2 pages when the other cousin has sequestered her in his bedroom?????? This sucked. I am being extremely generous with 2 stars.

Lola has found herself in a world beyond her imagination. She finds that she has been thrust in to a world that does not want her. She finds that things are not what they seem. Xavier in this installment seems more like a wimp at times and then a scared little boy. His alpah seems to have left the building. Though it has brief visits. This was a short read and the flip and flop of Xavier was the only real thing to count on. Lola was too trusting.

I was disappointed upon hearing Xavier for the first time. Listening to his parents and cousin. There were no accents to go with the rich history that was suppose to revolve around these people. And there were times when I was not sure if the person talking was male of female. Not good.

Seeing as how I didn't finish reading this book I feel it would be un-fair to actually rate it.

It's not that I was too busy or something I just couldn't finish reading this book.
It kind of seemed ridiculous to me.

How does one actually go through with a week of sex after finding out the real reason she was brought to his country?

This being AFTER he embarrassed her (In private AND in public - previous book)
Along with setting up this big elaborate plot JUST to get a week of sex.

It.. I feel like saying makes me feel sick makes me sound too dramatic, but it's truly sad and disturbing that one would actually still give themselves to one who treated them in such a way.

I still cannot stand Xavier. He is still a complete asshole, although he's now showing signs he likes her a bit more than just using her for sex. Lola is still stupid though. Who wouldn't question the whole need to be blindfolded to be walked to another room for a lesson on stripping. It's the first thing I would have been suspicious of. So that little embarrassing scene was self-inflicted by Lola & her stupidity. I think this book is better than the first as it doesn't seem like a teenager has written it, but you cannot skip the first book if you wish to follow this one. Still only 3 stars for me, because some things are so silly & just unrealistic for the type of story it is. However, I'm still going to continue to read the third book.

This review is one of the hardest reviews I have had to write. I am a huge fan of J. S. Cooper’s books. I love her work, her characters, and the worlds she creates for them. Her books are always entertaining, romantic, and well written. It is with a heavy heart that I write this review.

Taming My Prince Charming by J. S. Cooper is the sequel to Finding My Prince Charming. I was looking forward to this release because of the cliffhanger in the first book. I was also hoping that I could connect with these characters this go round and become more invested in their story. I was also under the impression that this was the conclusion to their story. But this was not the case.

Taming My Prince Charming was just another installment into the ongoing story and ended with another cliffhanger. But this time around I think this cliffhanger left a bad taste among some readers.



Taming My Prince Charming picks up where Finding My Prince Charming left off. Xavier has taken Lola to Romerius under the pretense of a royal engagement. We are under the impression that he did this to protect Lola from the media. But why would this protect her when a royal engagement would cause even more sensation.

Once they are in Romerius it becomes clear that Xavier has an agenda. What that agenda is never really explained or hinted at. Is it revenge? Is it a power play? Who is his revenge directed at and why? The only person that suffered throughout this book was Lola. She was subjected to some pretty ugly situations where she had no clue how to react. She was kept in the dark. Xavier not only has used her for his own sexual pleasures, he is exposing and exploiting her in a perverse world in which she does not belong.

Lola’s character changed quite a bit in this book. She went from being a strong, intelligent, independent young woman to becoming a submissive doormat. She gave Xavier some sass at times but let him walk all over her when her inner self was screaming to run in the other direction. The Lola from the first book would have been on a plane back to London without any second thoughts.

The plot in Taming My Prince Charming changed drastically from Finding My Prince Charming. Readers were expecting Lola to be introduced into the world of royality. We were expecting the conflict to come from that world. The royal world barely came into play. The readers were briefly introduced to the royal family. They did not get any information about the country of Romerius, the traditions, the politics, and their part in the world. The plot took on a new direction focusing on “The Club”. It was unclear what exactly this club is in the whole scheme of things. It is obvious The Club is for royals to act out on their sexual perversities and indiscretions. And why would they label these acts of indiscretions as a Ball?

I felt like the plot was jumbled and not on a clear direction. I also felt that the author was borrowing from other plots from her previous books. The Club is clearly one of those things.

Add a woman from Xavier’s past, another handsome prince with an agenda of his own, another prince that cheats on his wife, a young cousin that on the surface seems innocent, a disapproving mother, and a brother rushing home for unknown reasons and the reader finds their heads spinning.

I felt like the characters were not fully developed. We never get a true sense of who Xavier is. We get glimpses into his thoughts but they are not clear or followed through. He does not really come across as a Crown Prince. He has no concerns for his nationality, his countrymen, or his role in their lives. We never understand his attraction to Lola other than wanting to screw her. He abuses her innocence, insults her integrity, and treats her like a cheap whore most of the time. He is never tender with her. Why would she be attracted to a man who treats her so badly.

Lola’s character did a one eighty flop that just disappointed me.

As for all of the secondary characters I got a sense of who they were but just a small bit. I know their names but am not sure how they really fit into the story.

Taming My Prince Charming was not a royal romance. I really don’t know what it was. I feel adding the word romance is somewhat of a farce as far as this book is concerned. There really wasn’t romance in this book. The character interaction, the build up of sexual chemistry, and the dialogue that leads to a romantic love story was missing. It was more of a few sexual interludes that had no tenderness or true fire behind them.

Taming My Prince Charming should have been titled Lola and The Big Bad Wolf.

I will read the next book in this series because of Lola and Lola alone. She was left in a horrific situation that has my gut clenching. I am hoping she comes through this ordeal a stronger woman and gives Xavier the FU and gets out of the palace.

Keeping My Prince Charming will be out in November 2014.

I have so many questions!!!!! What is this club really??? I wish we got more details of what really goes on there!! And why call it going to a Ball???

Who's getting even with who??? It seems like everyone is out to get someone! I don't know who the bad people are here. :)

We are getting into more mystery and suspense, I want more romance. The book skipped over a lot of the time Xavier and Lola spent together. I would like some details about little things like, What do they talk about?

This series really has changed directions from the initial plot. I'd love to know how the story was initially planned to roll out. This book is becoming suspense like similar to The Private club. I wanted a Prince Charming book.

This is book two of Lola and Xavier's story. Lola goes to Xavier's home and feels out of place right away when she meets his parents. His mother is not the nicest person to her and keeps wanting to bring up the person he was with before. After she meets some of his brother's friends, she really feels out of place. As far as Xavier is concerned, every time she thinks maybe there might be a chance he could actually care for her, he treats her like she is beneath him. He starts to introduce her slowly into his dark world but he doesn't tell her anything about what is going on. She feels uncomfortable with what she sees and doesn't know what to think or how to act. She meets Casper, another prince and feels guilty because she finds him extremely attractive. Casper starts messing with her head, which leaves her confused. He manages to get her away from Xavier with lies and into a room with another person. when she see the other person, she feels betrayed, but she also feels betrayed by Xavier because she believes Casper's lies and thinks that he is betraying her. The book ends where Lola is seriously considering Casper's proposition

If I could give 0 stars I would. This book is utter garbage. I was able to get behind the first book in this series despite my hatred for the main male character, but this book just got incredibly worse. First off Xavier basically rapes Lola this entire book. She's constantly telling him no and then he forces himself on her. And the damn author makes her okay with it and makes her believe it is a form of love making. This is absolutely disgusting and basically keeps with our culture that says men have no control of themselves so we as women should allow them to force themselves on us and be okay with it. I was ready to get behind this book because last book ended where you get the impression Lola is changing Xavier for the better, but we are all wrong with that thinking. I refuse to continue further with this trash novel (psh... novel... ha) series.

So, I think I would have been better prepared had I read book 1 first but since I didn't and I still LOVED this read / listen. The storyline is great. I loved these characters. Lola is not afraid to let Prince Xavier know what's what and I love that she is fierce but also has fears and insecurities - her character is so well written and feels real. Prince Xavier has a lot of character growth in this read and plenty of secrets. The narration is wonderfully done and I love the dual point of view. I really wish I could go back and listen to book 1 and get the back ground and I definitely want to read what's next as this ends in a cliffhanger.

While this book could be read as a stand alone, it definitely would be helpful to read the books in order. I was a bit lost with the characters for this reason (not blaming the author).

This book is told from Lola and Xavier’s point of view. Sometimes it was confusing as we didn’t get to see the whole picture as they didn’t tend to tell the same events. I felt like there were things that were not fully explained due to this.

Some events were vague in this book that I am hoping will resolve in the third book. Due to there being a third book in the trilogy, I am not going to penalize this book for the vague events.

I enjoyed this one better than the first book. I finally got why Xavier was such an ass. This is definitely a darker story line than I expected, but it made more sense than the hot and coldness of the first book.

I’m not quite sure why so many characters are introduced, because they are really insignificant. I would have like a little more insight to Xavier and his family. The few glimpses we got into his family dynamics were interesting and helped give a more well rounded view into Xavier’s mind. i totally understood Lola, but still had lots of questions about Xavier, as a person.

The cliff hanger is a doozy and the drama is ramped up. I look forward to book 3.

Audiobook Review: The theme in this book is definitely "green with envy" and jealousy. This is the second book in a trilogy. I haven't read or listened to the first but it is obvious in the first chapter that the story picks up midstream. Despite that, I was still able to enjoy it. Do note that it ends in a bit of a cliffhanger.

I liked the narrator. I'm voluntarily leaving a review of a free copy of this audiobook.

The story is starting to progress nicely.. There are some new characters introduced that I really hate!! But Xavier has yet to redeem himself, even though is is conflicted, he is just clueless.
