She’s a hacker with a cause. He’s an outlaw with a past. When their worlds collide, the fallout could burn them both.
By day, Jazz serves coffee and sweet smiles. By night, she’s a cyber vigilante, tearing apart scam networks that prey on the innocent. Her secret war is supposed to be waged from behind a screen—until she takes down the wrong target and finds herself marked for death.
Wolf is the enforcer for the Iron City Knights MC, a club teetering on the edge of collapse. With rival bikers encroaching and the leadership in shambles, he’s got enough to handle without the distraction of the shy, blue-haired barista. But when Jazz saves a friend of his from getting conned, Wolf takes a closer look—and likes what he sees.
When bodies start piling up and Jazz becomes a target, Wolf’s protective instincts roar to life. He’ll kill to keep her safe. But Jazz has her own weapons, and she won’t sit back while her enemies close in.
As war brews in the streets and a deadly assassin hunts from the shadows, Jazz and Wolf must fight together—or risk losing everything.
Explosive passion. Heart-stopping danger. One ride-or-die love.
Perfect for fans of dark MC romance, Ignite is a steamy, high-stakes thrill ride with a strong heroine, a ruthless biker, and a love that burns hotter than the war around them.
ML Nystrom had stories in her head since she was a child. All sorts of stories of fantasy, romance, mystery and anything else that captured her interest. A voracious reader, she’s spent many hours devouring books; therefore, she found it only fitting she should write a few herself!
ML has spent most of her life as a performing musician and band instrument repair technician, but that doesn’t mean she’s pigeon-holed into one mold. She’s been a university professor, belly dancer, craftsperson, soap maker, singer, rock band artist, jewelry maker, lifeguard, swim coach, and whatever else she felt like exploring. As one of her students said to her once, "Life’s too short to ignore the opportunities." She has no intention of ever stopping... so welcome to her story world. She hopes you enjoy it!
I could not put this book down! I loved the style of a plot heavy motorcycle club book that didn’t lose itself in heavy spice scenes that a lot tend to focus on. The writing is so easy to digest and I need to read more of this authors work ASAP!
Jazz being a hacker added an element to the story that made it a really interesting read. I loved all the nerdy sci-fi mentions and appreciated a soft FMC who may not kick butt physically but will absolutely mess you up virtually. The found family she had with her shield network was fantastic and I hope we have more crossover in the future.
Wolf was the best MMC. A strong, masculine type who wears his heart on his sleeve for everyone to see. He is 100% all or nothing with everything that he does but still takes the time to care for others. Wolf’s relationship mantra may as well be consent is hot.
I enjoyed the addition of different chapter POV’s as the assassin drew closer to their town. It added some intrigue and suspense to the story and paralleled the sense of security the characters had right up until they didn’t.
The assortment of side characters added so much fun to the story and really aided the plot. Like real life Jazz and Wolf have a lot to deal with and it’s not just the issue of a would be assassin and rival gang messing up their relationship bliss. Liz is a real piece of work and I genuinely felt bad for Jazz having to deal with that. Hugo I absolutely adored!
Thank you to Hot Tree Publishing for the advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion.
Ignite’s characters Jazz and Wolf are an “opposite attract” type of couple. Wolf is an enforcer of a Motorcycle Club, and Jazz is the blue-haired nerdy hacker. But not just any hacker. She’s a “cyber vigilante.” She’s trying to take down the phone scamming network, but she hacks into the wrong person’s system while doing so. And that group is after her.
A lot is happening within the plot, from Jazz and Wolf's fast romance to hacking into the wrong guy’s system and having a target on her, rival motorcycle clubs, and an unaliver on the loose. Though at times I did have challenges following, I was able to pick things right back up as I found each piece entertaining. I liked how Author M.L. Nystrom delivered the scenes with the unaliver, as we also get their chapters. It added a more suspenseful vibe to the story that I enjoyed.
I really enjoyed reading this 1st book in a new series for ML Nystrom. It was fast paced And had lots of action. I do wish there was a little more tension build-up between the 2MCS, but otherwise it was great. I loved seeing old characters and I'm really looking forward to getting more stories about this club.
“I consider you under my protection and the club’s protection now. Take care, Jazz.”
🔥 Ignite by M.L. Nystrom 🔥
Ignite is the first book in the Iron City Knight series by M.L. Nystrom. This is perfect if you love dark MC romances with steamy, high stake thrills with a strong FMC and a ruthless biker.
“I don’t say things I don’t mean, babe. Ever.”
I enjoyed this book so much, finished it in less than a day I liked it that much! I loved the spin on the usual MC romances with the hacker badass FMC who still fumbles over her words when she sees a hot man!
Great paced storyline with action and just the right amount of spice that doesn't take away from the storyline. I really enjoyed the different povs though the first couple confused me until I started to get further into the book and figured out what was going on. I was pretty much hooked from there!!
“You’re not just a piece of my world, Jazz. You’re all of it.”
This was a passion explosion, gripping shock factor danger and ride or die love. I thoroughly enjoyed this and cannot wait to read more from this world!!
🏍️ Hacker/Biker 🖥️ Ride or die love 🏍️ Touch her 💀 🖥️ Fierce FMC
This story follows Jazz, who works in a coffee shop, runs software for a steel company, and at night hacks scammers to shut down their systems. After she plants a large virus and shuts down a major organization she is targeted by a dangerous assassin and receives help from a local member of a biker club, and her crush.
I really enjoyed the unique topics in this story and the author was able to create "online" characters that you love without ever meeting. Each of the characters has unique flaws and characteristics to set them apart as individuals and keep them interesting. I also enjoyed her unique house, quirks, and family. I think the author did a good job of showing how health, personality, and relationships affect our lives each day.
I wish there was more of a relationship development phase before they were "in love". I actually turned back thinking somehow I missed a chapter (or seven) when it seemed they had barely been together. Wolf also was never very interested in her that much, and then suddenly pursuing her and head over heels, which was an abrupt change. One of his major hold backs was that she looked young, and we never found out how old she was to his 36. I also wished there was a more thought out, challenging resolution to the dangerous situation at the end, but it was handled so quickly for what Mr Happy's skill level should've matched, and Wolf's time out of the military and how his skills would be rusty from unuse. I also expected another chapter (or 5) after the resolution, possibly to cover her trauma (which just didn't exist), how the biker club reacted, did the Sluggers really just... give up? because according to Wolf they would've been unaware that the club was involved at all and therefore keep pursuing their business in the area, also, how did Denny handle everything once he showed up? Etc etc. The epilogue was a little lack luster for me, no interactions between her and Wolf. I also wish there was anything more about her family, they are exceptionally dysfunctional and she can barely handle a one hour dinner, and then suddenly! family vacayy!!
I do recommend this book though!! I really do, I enjoyed the concept immensely, and so many of the details were a breath of fresh air to most books. Also you just have to love Marge, and Copperpot, and even catlady50. So shout out to them.
This review is shared in exchange for a copy of the book from Netgalley and the Author, thank you!
This came out of left field, grabbed hold of me and didn’t let me go until the very end….
Ignite was my very first time reading anything by this author, but I can honestly say that it won’t be my last. The writing was brilliantly done and ML made sure that your attention stayed wholly focused on the story and the events that were taking place.
Jazz and Wolf are definitely the stars of this book, but their supporting cast truly become an integral part of their lives, with a few who are more like family.
Jazz has a strength that clearly shines as she puts her cyber skills to the forefront and tries to help others by shutting down the scammers, however she is anything but a computer recluse, being an important part of Coffee and Cakes Café with her amazing barista skills and beautiful personality.
Wolf has a troubled past but one he has learned to live with, with the help of the Iron City Knight Motorcycle Club and the brotherhood that it has provided, becoming his family and giving him purpose and the stability that he needs. That is until Jazz helps his landlady and then suddenly, he is seeing her in a different light, not just a curiosity that he sees each day when he grabs his morning coffee.
Ignite has some spicy scenes but I found that these scenes didn’t take over the book, but rather were woven seamlessly throughout the action and drama that was occurring, they highlighted the connection between the characters or in one particular case, the inhumanity and indifference that the assassin has when it comes to getting the job done.
For the majority of the story we see it from the point of view of Jazz and Wolf in alternating chapters, but I did enjoy how every now and then a point of view would pop up with what was occurring with the assassin as he took care of his intended victims.
This book was so much more than I imagined that it was going to be, with more depth of characters and storyline, more mystery and intrigue, as well as a lot more action. Ignite is an easy read that I found highly entertaining and I am really looking forward to more instalments of the Iron City Knights, and hopefully more of Jazz and Wolf as well.
Thank you Hot Tree Publishing and ML Nystrom for my #gifted copy of Ignite for an honest review.
"Ignite" by M.L. Nystrom kicks off the Iron City Knights MC series with a bang, delivering a fast paced and steamy ride that will thrill fans of dark MC romance. This book grabbed me from the start with its intriguing premise and kept me hooked until the very end. Jazz is a fantastic heroine smart, resourceful, and not afraid to get her hands dirty, even if it's behind a keyboard. Her double life as a barista by day and a cyber vigilante by night makes for a unique twist, and it was genuinely engaging to watch her navigate the dangers her hacking brings. Wolf, as the enforcer for the Iron City Knights, is everything you'd expect from an MC hero: protective, powerful, and undeniably charismatic. The chemistry between him and Jazz is palpable from their first meeting, and their journey from wary allies to passionate lovers is well executed and incredibly hot.
The plot is packed with action and suspense. The brewing war between rival clubs and the threat of an assassin hunting Jazz's friends kept the tension high throughout. Nystrom clearly knows how to build a thrilling narrative, and the stakes felt genuinely high. My only minor critique would be that, at times, the pacing felt a little too rapid, especially in the development of certain plot points or character relationships. A bit more breathing room here and there could have deepened the emotional impact even further. However, this is a small quibble in an otherwise strong debut for the series.
Overall, "Ignite" is a highly entertaining and intense read. If you're looking for a dark romance with a strong heroine, a protective biker, and plenty of danger, then this is definitely one to add to your list. I'm eagerly looking forward to what M.L. Nystrom has in store for the rest of the Iron City Knights MC!
Jazz works in a cafe helping out Bill and Madge in their bakery and coffee shop. She gets all embarrassed and tongue-tied whenever Wolf from the local MC comes into the shop for his order. When Bill has an accident at home, Jazz finds herself working the bakery alone until Wolf comes along and helps her out. When she's not working in the bakery, Jazz pursues her other passion as a Hacker, bringing down scammers and recovering stolen money for people. Wolf and Jazz's proximity working together has them falling for each other. However, danger is lurking, as someone is targeting Jazz's other hacker friends, who are being systematically eliminated. Is Jazz in danger, too? Wolf has his problems with the MC lacking passion, with no one at the top or anyone willing to take charge. Will Wolf be able to keep Jazz safe when people start closing in on them? Meanwhile, the outlaw MC Club, the Slaggers, is trying to take over the Iron City Knights' turf. Will the Knights be able to take what's theirs back? I received an arc for my voluntary honest review for NN Book Blog. If you love an MC Romance with a hacker twist, then you will love this book. M.L. keeps you on the edge of your seat, turning the pages with all the twists and turns that you don't see coming.

Iron City Knights, book one, is full of drama and intense action. I loved every bit of it.
Wolf, the enforcer for the Iron City Knights MC, is one heck of a guy. He helps where he can in the community and that includes the bakery where Jazzy works. She’s had a crush on him for ages and he is tickled pink about it. She is a fantastic character, sort of a modern-day Robin Hood. Getting to know her better ends up being a positive move for them both.
Apart from the romance, there are a couple of mysterious elements to the story that work concurrently. Each helps to build up the tension in the story and at times had me on the edge of my seat in anticipation.
This book is this first I have read by this author.. and i actually quite enjoyed the story! Ex military MC biker and the nerdy hacker/barister- loved that dynamic! I loved the way the FMC gets tongue tied and word vomits like a school girl when she gets nervous- made it quite entertaining lol
There were certainly things I didn’t like too - but that’s just personal preference on the way the book is formatted NOT THE STORY. For example I like clear POV changes like named chapters. And I was slightly confused at the beginning with the extra characters and was scratching my head thinking huh who is that!?
But I have to say, I will definitely be joining along for book 2!
Ignite ignited my love for MC romances all over again, but make no mistake, this isn’t your typical rough-and-tumble biker tale. ML Nystrom has a true gift for breaking molds, and this book is a prime example. Jazz, our blue-haired hacker heroine with a gloriously quirky brain, is an absolute riot. She's sharp, hilarious, and impossible not to adore. Pair her with Wolf—ex-special forces, broody yet endearing, and a member of the local MC—and you've got a dynamic duo loaded with lots of heat in passion. Jazz is the perfect heroine for Wolf.
What I love most about ML's writing is her fearless approach to character building. Her characters are funny, flawed, and fierce. The chemistry between Jazz and Wolf sparkles, and the tension? Chef’s kiss. You’ll laugh out loud, root hard, and see a few familiar faces you love. Yes, ML fans, there are delightful Easter eggs in here, too.
If you crave MC romance with a twist, love a good laugh, or enjoy characters who are unapologetically themselves, Ignite is your next must-read.

4 ⭐️ 2 🌶 0 💧
A great debut novel for this series. I loved the characters of Wolf and Hugo. Jazz was cute as an FMC, and I loved that she was the 'nerdy' girl that the hot guy fell for when she was really highly intelligent and empathetic. She is the calm to Wolf's storm and shone in her own way while complimenting and soothing his rough character.
Wolf was something else. A character who, unlike other MMC's, seems realistic and attainable while keeping the untouchable persona alive. Perfect combination.
The way the author has introduced individual side stories before tying it all together is brilliant and cleverly executed.
I look forward to reading the other books in this series and seeing where the story goes.
I liked this book. It was a quick, fun read with a solid mix of spice and story. The pacing worked well, the writing was clean, and I stayed engaged throughout.
The characters had interesting backstories, and I was definitely curious about them, but I wish their development had gone a bit deeper. It felt like there was potential for more emotional connection that didn’t quite come through.
Based on the title, cover, and description, I went in expecting a darker romance, but it felt more like an edgy contemporary story. I’m also still not entirely sure how the title ties into the plot in a meaningful way, but maybe I missed something.
That said, it was still a really enjoyable read. If you’re looking for something fast-paced with some heat and drama, this one fits the bill.
Thank you to NetGalley and Xpresso Book Tours for the opportunity to read the ARC for this book.

The story features Wolf, a biker MMC, and Jazz, a barista with a hidden talent as a brilliant computer hacker. Their first meetings in the coffee shop was funny.
The romance had a bit of an insta-love feel, which isn’t usually my favorite, but it was still enjoyable in its own way. I really appreciated that the story had an actual plot and wasn’t just focused on spice. It had a nice balance of romance and suspense, which kept things interesting.
I do wish the character POVs had been introduced more clearly at the beginning to help me connect with them a bit sooner. Also, based on the cover, I expected a darker tone, but the story leaned more toward suspense than dark romance.
Wolf is the enforcer for the Iron City Knights MC and works most nights as security at their strip club, just lately he feels that the clubs get up and go has got up and gone. His old friend owns a coffee shop and he visits each day.
Jazz works at the coffee shop and has crushed on Wolf for a long time. By night she is intercepts scammers and takes down their systems. One night she takes down a large system and the repercussions bring danger knocking at her door.
This fantastic start to this new series is full of tension, danger, action and plot twists. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
I really enjoyed the start of this new series, and you will as well. Wolf is in charge of the strip club, and he loves stopping by the bakery and coffee shop for his goodies, but really, for the barista with the purple hair. Jazz helps out at the bakery and coffee shop part-time and does computer upkeep for a local company, but at night, she and others are working hard to stop the scammers from hurting the elderly and the innocent. I totally adore Hugo, her younger brother. He's a hoot! Grab your copy and enjoy it because I did. Happy reading! Highly recommend!
Swordfish meets a PG-13 Sons of Anarchy in this MC romance with a twist of tech. We've got a blue-haired hacker surfing the dark web and a tough biker with a shadowy past—sounds intense, right? It’s labeled dark romance, more mysterious than menacing, and with spice that’s present but not over the top. I’d say it’s more dimly lit than pitch black with a sprinkle of spice.
If you're looking to ease into the darker romance world without diving into the deep end, this one’s a smooth, drama-filled ride to dip your toe into.
I enjoy motorcycle club romances and suspense, so I enjoyed this one! This was my first read by this author–I enjoyed the action and the intrigue of what would happen next, I enjoyed learning about Jazz’s side hobbies that she doesn’t share with anyone, I loved Wolf’s protectiveness. It was everything I was hoping for based on the description. Wolf definitely moved a bit fast and didn’t ~always~ talk to Jazz before making decisions, so there were a few moments that I struggled through, but I did enjoy the overall vibes, and I’d be open to seeing what’s next in this series!
A very nice start to the new series. Jazz is a barista by day and super hacker by night; everything is great in Jazz's world and the only time she is flustered is when Wolf comes in to order coffee. Those moments she lives for and has had a crush for the longest on him, something she is sure Wolf is completely unaware of, or is he? In a story that felt non-stop, we are getting loads of drama, danger, violence, mystery, funny bits and of course some nice naughty moments. I give the first of this series 4 stars.
3.5 stars. Interesting setup for a new MC set in Pittsburgh. Liked Wolf and Jazz as a couple. Got a little tedious with side characters and Jazz being “adorable” with her verbal miscues. 🙄 At first it might of worked as endearing, because she was so nervous around Wolf but it became cringy as it carried on throughout the book. The hacker storyline was a bit too in-depth for me. Hopefully this MC gets its act together in subsequent books in the series because a dysfunctional MC is suboptimal for me.
I read this book really quickly... I loved Jazz she's a mess but so adorable. Wolf doesn't realize how bad he wants her til she helps his elderly landlord. These two definitely have a quick romance that honestly came naturally to them both. Jazz has alot going on and she tries to keep Wolf out of it... Wolf had his own issues in the club. So much happens so quickly but they each just keep going and adapting. Kinda wished the ending had more but overall really enjoyed the story.
I enjoyed the MC side of this book more then I thought I would. I am a little late turning on my review on this book because I am reviewing the ARC. it was well written and flowed very nicely. I do want to say that I felt the climax of the ending was very short. It felt like the "save the day" part was so fast. I feel it could have been just a bit more tense. I can't to see how the MC evolves in the up coming books.
I read this in one sitting. It’s fast paced and the love story happens fast but it is delicious.
The MMC Wolf is a mix of morally grey but also cinnamon role vibes. He is the perfect man in a romance novel.
I love that Jazz is a little awkward and sweet but a hacker uncovering scammers and protecting innocent victims. She is sweet, resilient but also a little traumatised by her past and what her family wants from her.
Wolf is unwavering in his want for her and there’s nothing as drool worthy as a man’s commitment from day 1.
Not at all a run-of-the-mill MC romance! While still incorporating the best parts of the tropes/elements that work so well in this genre, it manages to elevate the story into a loving tribute to found family. No one is perfect here but morally gray looks awfully cute. The MCs are adorable together and the suspenseful/dangerous storyline was truly engaging. Looking forward to diving into this author’s inventory and reading more of ML Nystrom’s work.
P.S. The final joke re: the bar was priceless and I’ve ordered 3 boxes of dog treats from ArcBark.com. (UPDATE: He loves them!)
I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NetGalley. Thank you to them, the author and the publisher for providing it to me. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
