I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

This is the third book in an exciting YA fantasy series. I loved it!

Haley and her twin sister Lacey are now nearly 18 years old. I like these two girls very much. It has been interesting watch them grow up over the series. They have matured a lot and grown from unsure young girls into confident young women.

This story quickly drew me back into a world of magic and magical creatures. I was hooked from the first page and read this book in one sitting. The characters have all matured and have grown stronger because of their previous adventures in Great Aunt Gisele's Enchanted Forest. It was a pleasure to meet Micah and Taylor again too. The story is mostly told through the eyes of Haley, but Micah has his say and so does his cousin, Trey.

Micah has come to his Great Aunt's to learn how to communicate with the spirits, but finds himself having to compete in the "Still Hunt" against his cousins, Trey and Selena, in order to decide ownership of the Enchanted Forest and to break a curse that has affected not only his family, but Haley and Lacey's family too. The story was full of action, danger and adventure. There is one graphic, but not explicit scene near the end of the book of a sexual nature, which takes this YA story closer to the NA genre. However, this scene is necessary in a couple of ways. The scene is crucial to the plot, and also shows the reader the magic of young love and commitment. This scene was extremely well written and quite touching. In fact, the whole book came alive with the vivid descriptions written by the author. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

Diane Haynes has written a fantastic fast paced fantasy adventure for middle grade children/young teens, but I think that adults may enjoy it too. I love her fast paced writing style, and the flow was wonderful. She is one of my favourite YA authors.

I highly recommend this book if you love fantasy, adventure, magic, YA/NA or stories full of mythical beings. - Lynn Worton

I received this book to give an honest review. May Contain Spoilers.

I have fallen in love with this series from the very beginning it is one of those books that are perfect for the YA. You have magic, danger, adventure all wrapped up into one.

With Still Hunt we follow the gang once again into an adventure of the Enchanted Forest. But it is not all fun and games. Micah's Great Aunt Gisele has him communicating with the dead because unknown to him and her students she will be passing on.
Of course you know this is going to tear everyone up because Gisele is an important person to everyone.
Both girls have grown up in this book, and something special happens to two characters! Didn't even think this was going to happen.
Now there is a mystery that the girls come across and what this mystery is, is what has cursed the land and the descendants. It is something that plays a part with Micah and Haley.

Now as you have read in the blurb this is this dangerous scavenger hunt that Micah and his cousin Trey have to do in order to find out who gets to keep ownership of the Enchanted Forest. This is where the action starts to get good. Each team has to find a treasure and connect everything together. Who will succeed?

Will Trey who is evil learn to be or play nice? Or is it too late for him?

Now this is where the spoiler alert comes into play. Towards the end Micah and Haley secure their love by making love. No it does not get graphic. But I personally did not feel as though it was right on why Haley lost her virginity. I did understand the whole curse thing and love. But I would have thought that maybe it could have gone different. But that is just me. It did go with the story but I didn't like that part.

Overall a great story and the author has done a great job with building the characters and I have enjoyed watching them grow. Especially the twins because you can tell they have grown up a lot. The author has done an awesome job with descriptions of the forest, and animals and the type of magic used.
If you haven't read the other books in this series I would highly suggest you do.

Yesterday I made a mistake and referred to this book as Wild Hunt. It does not take a genius to figure out how my mind works.
The story is slow to start and it feels kinda like going home after some time. Once you are all settled in however everything starts to happen at once.

The twins are back. They are older, and they are a bit more experienced. The forest is beckoning as is young love.
And right here is where I break from the story to tell you that natural age progression of teenagers might sound easy but it is not something many and until yesterday I would have said any author apart from J K Rowling can pull off. Yesterday, when I read this the third book in the series, the girls sounded more grown up. Less angst ridden, more goal oriented and far more self reliant even though they still do not have a car.

Yes by the end of the book the reader encounters a really detailed though not graphic sex scene. The coming of age of two of the characters is necessary for the plot and is not brushed over or hidden behind. It is instead used to show the magic of young love and the flip side of lust vs love.

The editing is very well done, the cover is brilliant. The story is on the brink of leaving YA for NA and it does so, so naturally that it seems planned from the start of book one.

Still Hunt is a wild hunt, dangers galore, even a twist in the sense of an unexpected sense of chivalry from a not so nice character. Above all it is a story about love, between sisters, mothers and grandmothers, friends and lovers. Love for nature respect for self and others and hope.

A brilliant book. One I recommend you pick up today.

“Still Hunt” by Diane M Haynes is part of her “Forst Magic” series and indeed, it is full of wonderful magic. Micah visits his great aunt to learn how to communicate with the dead. He is accompanied by his girlfriend and her twin sister. Besides the love interest the youngsters want to learn all kinds of magic and spiritual skills. And there is plenty of it.
Having come late into the series the beginning was a bit of a catching up for me, getting to know the characters and the set-up, which was easily done and comfortable.
Then comes the action part as a ‘Still Hunt’ between Micah and his cousin Trey will decide who gets to inherit the Forest.
The story is sweet young adult fare with maturing characters who come into their own and who also develop romantically. The book is clearly a labour of love, with plenty of magical creatures, attention to detail and imagination, a dedication to the supernatural and spiritual and lovely characters.
I liked the characters and their fight, the suspense and the plot and would certainly recommend it to fans of fantasy and good ya literature.

There are so many great ideas in this book but nothing really happens until a third of the way through. I found myself dreading each chapter as Grandma Clara began each one asking 'And what are you going to do today?'

From a third in, Gisele plays a bigger role in the book and her experiences and attributes are brought to life, as is the Enchanted Forest. All the scenes in the forest are well written, fast paced and exciting as Micah, Haley, Taylor and Lacey attempt to find the clues, complete the Still Hunt before Trey and Serena, and claim the forest as their own. From the Greenman to the Tinky-Tinks, I liked the fantasy world Haynes created and I was drawn into the magic.

As this is YA fiction, maybe all the 'young love' references are there for a reason as the twins grow up but for me, Haynes talent lies in the realm of fantasy and magic.

I absolutely adore this series, it brings out my inner child! The series does need to be read in order for you to be able to follow along. This series is about a group of teenagers who discover different paranormal beings that are in an enchanted forest. Their job? To learn and protect everything inside the forest. So many twists and turns took place in this book, you will hate some while cheering others. If you are a fan of paranormal/supernatural beings and the fight of good vs evil you will not be disappointed by this series. I didn't see the last few chapters coming, (they are for an older audience than the rest of the book) but in my opinion they added to the story. Amazing read!
