American Pie: Has the Music Died?

Rate this book
The iconic song “American Pie " features many symbols and metaphors, leading to various interpretations over time. Don McLean describes it as a reflective kaleidoscope of American events, blending personal, religious, political, and cultural moments into what Garth Brooks calls “quite possibly the greatest song in music history.”

This book aims to provide an alternative lens, allowing you, the reader, to view these symbols and metaphors concerning our obligation to create “a more perfect union.” Like the song, there is no wrong way to look through a kaleidoscope, only different perspectives.

The focus is on challenging you and your generation to find the social and political courage to fulfill the promises of the Declaration and strive for a "more Perfect union.” It encourages you, your generation, and yes, all of us to go where others before us couldn't or wouldn't.

“ American Pie “suggests we must "Dare to Lead" to keep the music of Liberty alive.

Michael Gallucci has proven by his Lifetime of Military Service his commitment to leading this Country to become the “more Perfect Union” its Founders envisioned.

As part of this effort he has written this screed, and a well-reasoned, calm, and well-documented screed it is. He knows that keeping our Democratic Republic is as difficult as Franklin implied. Michael is worried, troubled, and often downright angry, at our failure to Provide the current and future Generations the tools needed to carry on this fight.

He knows the Goals: Community. Capacity, History, Civics and he’s witnessed our Shortfalls. He’s trained and led Men and Women committed to give their lives for the Cause of Democracy. He calls on each of us to do what we can to join the Battle.

This isn’t the easiest work to read because its subject is not supposed to be easy: The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and The Federalist Papers are dense with Definitions and Principles, but the beauty of those Ideas and Ideals they describe glows through his every paragraph.

Read this book, sing along, and remember how delicious The American Pie can be.
