Sam Grayson has achieved what he once thought impossible. Overcoming a troubled childhood in foster care, he has graduated college and embarked on a dream career that honors his faith. Grateful for his adoptive parents, John and Abbie, who took him in at sixteen, Sam enjoys a picture-perfect life in Franklin, Tennessee, where John thrives as a college basketball coach and Abbie runs a local business.
But when Andy Quinn, Sam’s estranged biological father, reaches out from federal prison, turmoil ensues. A misunderstanding fueled by deception escalates, shattering Sam’s relationship with his girlfriend and fracturing his family. As everything he values hangs in the balance, Sam must confront painful truths and lean on his faith.
Is it too late for Sam to rebuild his life, restore his dreams, and heal the bonds of the Grayson family?
Kimberly Banet started writing in 2020 with a passion to write faith-based, hope-filled stories that deal with worldly issues through the lens of God’s grace and mercy. Her debut novel, Just Another Home, was a 2023 ACFW Genesis finalist.
Her favorite things to do when not writing are spending time with her family, friends, and dogs, reading, crafting, drinking coffee, and watching Hallmark movies.
This story breaks your heart and heals at the same time! This is book two in a trilogy, however it works as a stand alone (although I highly recommend reading book 1 also!)
Sam Grayson faces new challenges when his past catches up with him and threatens to destroy his career, his reputation, and his Christian witness. His family relationships are also in the balance. Authentic faith, wonderful family relationships, and true friendships all hold a place despite the challenges. Kimberly Banet has created realistic characters and a believable plot that includes good times along with trials and discord. This second book in the Forever Family series is a fitting sequel to Just Another Home. I recommend it.
The wait to follow Sam and the Graysons journey is finally over! Just Another Dream is filled with hope, excitement, ups and downs, doubts, redemption, and love. The author kept me wondering where we were going next! This is so well written and is a great reminder that God is in control.
Following the first book, Just Another Home, I knew I would read this one. Ms. Banet handles tough subjects with honesty, while providing hope for all involved. The main character experiences over the top happiness and prosperity before past events beyond his control catch up to him. I particularly loved the description of Sam wanting a relationship with his birth father. Our desire for normalcy and love can blind us to the real situation at times. Growing into his own independence is not easy for this young man, but he recognizes and appreciates the support of those who love him. A definite five star read for me.
This is the second book in a series about Sam Grayson, who grew up in foster homes and then a final placement with the Grayson family. In this book he has graduated from college, become a Christian believer, and is pursuing a career leading Christian worship and writing Christian songs. His new family becomes concerned when he begins to visit his birth father, who is now in federal prison. Sam agonizes over whether to trust his birth father or his adoptive father. After having read book one--Just another Home, I found this book to be an excellent follow-up to book one. The ending suggests that there may be a book three in the making.
A realistic network of tangled relationships that has to be resolved through faith and true family love. The hardest lessons learned are the ones we remember best, and this book does a great job of portraying redemptive reality.
Just Another Dream continues Sam’s story from book 1 in the series. The thing that got me was how true and real the emotions were. It was honest and heartfelt. I was invested in it. And trust me, the ending….wow! Super book!
