Is a glimpse of the future a gift…or more dangerous than knowing nothing at all?
Grieving her losses from the Isle of Salire, Talullah tries to settle back into life at home. She has her family and her work. For now, the world is safe from the sorceress, Renevelda.
Then, Talullah’s Sight brings a blurry vision, a Potential future in the making. And it spells disaster for her home.
Convinced her emerald will help her save River Hill, Talullah consults her great-great grandmother’s cryptic journal. It leads her to the Between, where Potential futures become reality, if only for a while.
The place’s Guardian will only give up Talullah’s emerald if she succeeds at an impossible task, and time is running out.
Secrets shadow the mysterious Between. When they finally come to light, it might be too late.
Talullah’s emerald, her home, and the Between’s very existence are at stake. Will she earn her third gem and steer the world onto a new, safe path…or will her choices be a catalyst for ruin?
Kiersten Lillis writes fast-paced, no spice, mythology-inspired fantasy for teens and young adults. A pinch of mystery and something ghost-shaped always seem to work their way into her stories, whether or not she plans for them. Before publishing books, Kiersten edited wedding and event videos, spending hours crying alone at her computer while trying to bribe the author muse. When not writing, she can be found improvising silly songs and bedtime stories for her kids, singing off-key to Taylor Swift, and sipping sweet tea while hiding from the Colorado sunshine.
After finishing the second book in the Sezna Seer series, I was left eager for the next installment. And Emerald in Between did not disappoint. Tallulah continues to grow as a character and a seer, and the stakes are high as she embarks on her journey to a world of possible futures.
I love that we saw more of Dhalian in this book, and the introduction of a boy named Kai, a fascinating new character, shakes things up and creates a great dynamic. Action, mystery, magic--this book has it all, and the fast pace kept me turning pages.
Highly recommended for fans of YA fantasy who love a strong female protagonist.
I have really enjoyed this series and hope it doesn't take too long for the fourth book to be released! I need a conclusion! I enjoy the characters and their relationships and really truly need to know what happens to all of them, haha. Magic, mystery and the hint of love. :)
