Golem Master 2 somehow got me even more hooked than the first one. I went into it expecting more fun arena fights and cool golem upgrades, but I ended up getting way more attached to Pepper this time around because ya can really feel the pressure building around him now that people actually know who he is.

The fights are still probably my favorite part because they actually feel strategic instead of just nonstop action for the sake of action. Some of the matchups had me as invested as I used to get watching Pokémon battles growing up. It scratched that same itch of wanting to see creative teamups, smart plays, and hard-earned wins instead of a character just magically overpowering everything.

It also gave me some of the same addictive energy I had reading Dungeon Crawler Carl where I kept saying “okay one more chapter” and then suddenly realizing I was still reading at 2am. Totally different tone obviously, but both series are ridiculously good at making progression feel satisfying and making ya care about the outcome of every fight.

I also really liked that the world started feeling bigger here. There’s clearly more going on underneath the surface now, and the darker elements added tension without taking away the fun arena battle vibe that made me love the first book.

Overall this series is just ridiculously fun if ya grew up loving monster battles, underdog stories, and progression fantasy.

I make no secret of the fact that I love this series! You can currently find my review of book one on the box the book comes in! I didn't think my admiration for this series could be taken any higher after how hard the first book hit me, but as all good series should, book 2 was even better. It definitely approaches Pepper's journey through a much more adult lens. In the first book he was a young and reckless kid, with problems that were way harder than any kid his age should have to deal with. He made some serious mistakes and got really lucky things didn't go way worse for him. Now he's more of an adult and his problems and concerns are much more adult problems. He has to learn to navigating his relationship with his girlfriend, get along with his two VERY different roommates, and deal with the incredibly depressing reality of just how expensive adulting is! I found the way TJ wrote Pepper's struggle to understand and get along with his roommates to be very relatable, and once again I appreciate his representation of neurodivergence in his stories. I think you'll find the way Pepper really comes into his own in this book very satisfying. Can't wait to keep reading more!

Wow! I can’t believe how fun book 2 was! Bigger battles, better runes, new friends, new dangers and a new improved Nightmare Mala!
Pepper has made it to the SEC invitational! Having found the perfect place to rent, Pepper decides to find some roommates to save some flex. What could go wrong? Well plenty at first! Marcus and Wilson are a great addition to the story and I love the growth and bonding they all go through!
Ok spoiler alert( you’ve been warned) when the power goes out and Pepper has to protect his friends from demons with Mala👀💯🔥! I’ll be honest I was waiting for some demon battling action and TJ delivered! I was so pumped for the battle with Tamin! I’ve never wanted to see a beat down so bad and once again TJ delivered! Pepper delivers a Mortal Combat style “FINISH HIM” blow for a perfect score victory! Guys if your not reading Golrm Master you are missing out on a spectacular series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What makes this book truly special is its all-ages appeal it perfectly balances lighthearted humor, clean slice-of-life college drama, and high-octane mechanical action against demonic threats. It is a fast-paced, incredibly fun ride from start to finish that readers of any age will absolutely love. I can never get enough of Peppers Story! I love these books so much! I recommend to anyone who I can!!

What a great, fun read. The last 100 pages or so literally flew by- so much going on, fast paced action with a ton of excitement.

What I really enjoyed about the second book is the look at the greater world, Pepper moving and being exposed to more things and us as readers getting a better sense of how big of an event the rift wars were- and how it is still very impactful to our characters. Really looking forward to seeing all of this expand and unfold and all the people Pepper will meet along the way.
