The goal is in sight. One wrong move, and it’s game over.
Katherine Debs clawed her way up from the slums to the peak of the corporate world, a true rags to riches success story. Now her enemies can't show themselves publicly, banished as they are to the shadows by the monopoly she holds on advanced alien technology.
But she knows how dangerous a knife in the dark can be. After all, that's where Kat got her start, and no amount of corporate security was enough to keep her from taking what she wanted. Now, someone is rising through the system at an alarming rate; not many levels behind her, and gaining fast.
With corporate dominance, political power, and her own life on the line, Kat has to get stronger faster than her mystery opponent—unlocking the towers’ mysteries as she goes.
Only one person can be at the top. Will it be the corporate queen… or her killer?
A lifelong fan of Fantasy and Science Fiction, I usually spent my nerdy energy creating overly elaborate homebrew RPG campaigns. As it became harder and harder to juggle schedules for a half dozen players, I eventually made the logical choice and just cut them out of the picture entirely.
Now I write novels. They whine a lot less about critical failures.
This series is caught between two worlds. And one of them is just kind of boring. There was a little more to the lore of the Tower in this book, but it was mostly a tease. The cyberpunk half of the book continues to be far more interesting. The prose itself is better than average for the litrpg genre.
Went through this one quickly. The switching between tower climbing and “real world” storylines is done well and compliment each other. Looking forward to the next one!
This series is so interesting, fun, and unique; that I just had to leave a review to support the author. This is the 5th book in the series, so you don't need to know more than that this one is just as good as the rest of the series.
I'm still having a great time with this series. Lots of fun character growth in this entry, and the plot continues to advance. The LITRPG elements really anchor the sense of progress. And the humor keeps on landing for me.
Great continuation, albeit the progress is slow. It will take a while to reach level 24, but I rather enjoy the journey, so I don't actually mind one bit.
