Roman: Destined Paranormals Book Seven

Rate this book
An overly protective alpha tiger. A sweet fae omega. Will Roman’s natural instincts to protect be too much for Beau?
Roman Nelson’s life has been anything but relaxing. After spending a little over two decades raising his younger twin brothers and protecting them from the shifter that killed their parents, he finally found help from the newly formed paranormal council. Accepting the job offer provided not only security but also a new life for the three of them. Now that his brothers have both found their fated mates, he’s left to figure out what to do with his newfound free time without imposing too much on his brothers and their small families.

Beauregard Thorne jumped at the chance to leave the fae realm with his alpha brother. With no other family left, his brother is all he has, and the thought of being left behind wasn’t exactly desirable. Although he’s enjoying his time in the shifter realm, he’s finding himself without a whole lot to do. When the council’s bakery suddenly needs a new proprietor, he gives it a chance with his brother’s encouragement.

A chance meeting at the grand reopening forever changes Roman’s and Beau’s lives. But will they be able to figure out how to mesh their lives together without losing their newly found paths?

Roman is the seventh book in the Destined Paranormals series. It is a full-length novel that focuses on fated mates and how they mesh their lives together. This is an mpreg story, and there will be a baby or possibly two. If you’re looking for a sweet, fluffy fated mates story, you’ve found it.

I'm glad Roman finally got a mate of his own, and the story was really cute. I missed having a secondary plot like we've had in other books but this one was pretty nice in itself

Enjoyable fated mates romance.

Sometimes you just need a little bit of fluffy sweetness in your life and this book certainly hits the spot for that. Beau does have a tiny smidge of angst when it comes to his brother Evan but otherwise his mating with Roman is pretty much all smooth sailing. Expect the usual steam that happens when fated mates find each other and the resulting pregnancy. As Beau runs the reopened bakery there’s not only plenty of sweet treats but also a couple of new faces to add interest. Roman excels in his role as the attentive Alpha to his mate revealing his softer side and also reconnects with his twin brothers after finding his place amongst their mates and families. This is an enjoyable easy to read feel good book which was just the palate cleanser I needed.

Roman by Taylor Rylan is the 7th book in her Destined Paranormals series. I suggest that you read the others first to understand the unique world Ms. Rylan has created as well as some of the characters in them reoccur in this one. This is the story of an alpha tiger shifter and how he finds his fated mate and the life they are able to start building together. Roman Nelson is a tiger shifter who spent most of his life protecting his twin brothers, Phineas and Philip, from a deranged shifter who wanted them. They moved from place to place and finally landed in Treasure Ridge where he managed the store there. But then his younger brothers both found their fated mates and he regretted questioning this because he had always been so protective of them and now their mates had that job so he pulled away from them, not wanting to intrude further. He now lived off the mountain in Timber valley and was a history professor at the local college, a job he didn’t really like. Beau Thorne had a somewhat similar upbringing except he was the younger brother that was being protected by Evan, his older brother, who raised him when their parents disappeared. They were both fae and when Even was offered a job as an enforcer for the Council he was allowed to come with him. But this left him with finding something to do and when he was offered the job of running the bakery since he had great skills and could use his magic to help him, he jumped at it. He was also going to have some help, which is a good thing because the enforcers and council members all loved his sweet treats. At the opening celebration they both sensed each other and that they were mates but Roman left, much to his tiger’s chagrin. When he caught up with them Evan was not happy so he left and Evan and Beau had a massive argument. But Beau and Roman then had dinner together and talked which led to kissing, a hot love scene, claiming each other, and Beau going into heat. The story continues as they work out how they are going to live their lives, especially with a baby on the way, and Beau wanting to continue to work at the store. And Roman knew he would help him as much as he could since he had the summer off. This led them to say, “I love you”, and then to finding their happily ever after. I really enjoyed this sweet story. Both men had had similar things happen in their lives with their parents being gone and raising or being raised by their brothers. The protectiveness also caused some problems as both had to learn to let go and let them depend on their mates. Eventually Roman realized that he had pulled away from his brothers and their families and knew he was going to try to be more present in their lives. Evan also realized his mistake and apologized and made up with Beau. Roman was a strong protector and wanted to do everything he could to make Beau happy. Beau was innocent but was more than willing to let Roman lead the way but he also knew his own mind. Their brothers played a big part in their story and their friends and other enforcers were around to help them when needed. I really enjoy this unique paranormal world that Ms. Rylan has created and am always happy when she has a new book out about it. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like stories that bring together shifters and fae as they recognize their mates, claim each other, figure out how to live together and how to get their brothers on their sides, as well as have a baby that brings everything together.

This is the seventh book in the Destined Paranormals series. This time it is the story of Roman Nelson and Beauregard Thorne. Roman is an alpha tiger shifter and Beauregard is an omega fae. Roman has spent the last 20 years looking after and protecting his twin younger brothers when their parents were murdered. He did not easily relinquish his role of protector when the twins found their fated mates. He stepped back and got a job as a history professor. Now he is not sure if that is what he wants to keep doing. As well, he stepped so far back from the twins that now their bond is off because they think that he no longer cares about them. Deciding to work on building back up their relationship Roman agrees to attend their local bakery reopening. When Beau's alpha brother is offered a job with the council, Beau jumps at the chance to come to Treasure Ridge with his brother. In an attempt to feel useful, his brother recommends that Beau re-open the closed bakery. Apparently shifter and enforcers alike have a strong addiction to donuts and sweets. Beau and Patrick meet at the council fete after the bakery closes. They immediately know that they are fated mates. This is their story. I really liked how Patrick wanted to go slow so that Beau was completely sure and confident about what he wanted. I also liked that Patrick didn't immediately insist that Beau give up his job at the Bakery. Even if/when Beau becomes pregnant, Patrick is happy for him to continue working as long as he isn't putting himself at risk. The only fly in the ointment is that Beau's brother reacts very similarly to how Patrick reacted when his twin brothers found their fated mate. The book is well written and is easy to read. It is a sweet love story. I really enjoyed the book.

I received a complementary advanced review copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Roman finally gets his HEA with a sweet fae omega! After dropping everything he had worked for in his life to care for his newborn twin brothers and keep them safe from their parents' murderer, tiger shifter Roman is at a bit of a loss as to what his life should be like now that they are all grown up and have families of their own. He's not happy with his teaching position, he's pulled away from the twins to keep from stepping on their mates' toes, and he's become very secluded and lonely living on the edge of town. Then, a chance encounter at the council bakery's reopening changes everything.

Beau is a sweet fae omega who came to the shifter world with his older brother when Evan accepted a position as a Council Enforcer. He's not seen much of the world off of Treasure Ridge. With his brother's encouragement, he has just taken over running the bakery on the mountain when his body starts to tingle, and he sees the most beautiful pair of blue eyes he had ever seen.

It was interesting for Roman to experience an overprotective brother from the other side - Evan is NOT happy about his baby brother finding a mate. While Roman can understand the older fae's point of view, he also knows how that sort of behavior can ruin relationships inside a family. And he wants to give all he can to Beau.

Beau is so easy to love. He creates the sweetest desserts in the bakery while doing his beast to please everyone. But when the habitual people-pleaser finds him in a situation when no matter what he does will cause somebody hurt, he becomes overwhelmed. Fortunately, Roman is there to love him unconditionally.

These two are couples' goals. They have a healthy, supportive relationship that builds each other up in pursuing their own goals while growing together and growing their family. This book is an absolute delight to read, and I am eager to read the next book Taylor Rylan shares with the world.

This plot is pretty much the same as the others, which is not a surprise to me at all. I really wish there was more substance here, because the series has a lot of potential. There was a moment with another coworker at the bakery, Tate, that was really confusing to me. It seemed like it might develop into a conflict, but we never see him again? I'm not sure where the author was going with that. Also, the whole thing with Evan was kind of ridiculous but I'm glad it gave Roman some context for what his behavior was like, which may have been the point.
I honestly don't think I'll continue with this series, if it does continue, because I barely remembered anyone from the other series, if they were shown at all, and the ones that are being introduced now don't interest me or we know nothing about them.

Love Roman

I had already fallen in love with Roman when he was caring for his Twin younger brothers Phineas and Philip but have fallen even more in love with him when he found his adorable mate Beau! Their story is unique and beautiful and its own way with how they build their lives together. I love how Roman is caring, loving and supportive with Beau to continue his dream of owning a bakery while having children. Beau is such a beautiful soul and I love his sweet, kind & loving personality and love how he completely adores and loves Roman. If you're interested in this book I recommend that you read it. I want to say thank you to the amazing author who wrote this book Taylor Rylan because you have created a beautiful world/universe and I am excited to see what you come up with next. So thank you Taylor Rylan 💖🎉

After sacrificing his dreams to raise his newborn twin brothers following their parents' murder, tiger shifter Roman now finds himself adrift. Roman feels isolated and unfulfilled since the twins are grown, mated, and started their own families. His teaching job no longer brings joy, and he's distanced himself from his brothers to avoid interfering in their lives. Living alone on the outskirts of town, Roman battles loneliness—until a sweet, gentle fae omega enters his life, offering him the love and belonging he never thought he'd have. At last, Roman gets his long-overdue happily ever after. Roman and Beau are sweet together, and the chemistry between them can be seen throughout the book. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Roman and Beau are a super cute couple - but they are not without their challenges. Roman spent most of the last twenty years taking care of his orphaned twin brothers, and when they found their fated mates, he was left at loose ends. Beau came with his brother to Treasure Ridge to run the bakery, anticipating the joy of bringing freshly baked goodies back to the Council and its enforcers. Of course, Fate would have something else in mind. This story isn't super angsty, but I did shed a few tears as each character revealed their past struggles with loss and abandonment. They are quite perfect for one another, and I loved how (once again) Taylor Rylan expertly fits their narrative into the GRAND STORY of this paranormal universe. Many characters from previous stories make an appearance, and we get a peek at what's going on in their lives.
I'll keep reading this series as long as TR keeps writing... once again, brava!

This story has everything we expect from Taylor Rylan. Roman’s HEA has been a long time coming and worth the wait! Beau is a sweetheart and the perfect one for Roman to dote on. I thought the protective older brother was a funny touch and offered an interesting perspective for Roman. I love seeing the other characters and getting updates on other couples. I love this universe and no book disappoints.
There are a few mix up with names but not hard to work out what name it should be. And one small bit writes in Beau’s perspective in Roman’s chapter but again, it’s easy to overlook and doesn’t take away from the story.

After raising his two younger brothers and watching them find their mates, it's Roman's turn. He's been feeling a bit adrift with them taken care of and having gone back to teaching. Everything has changed around him.
Beau grabbed his chance to leave the fae realm behind for the shifter realm. His older brother has gotten a job as an enforcer and he's about to have a bakery to run. At the grand opening Roman scents Beau and gets the other side of the protective older brother situation.
Bonus: This series somehow keeps getting better.
Minus: All the bakery talk had me craving donuts!

I was so waiting on Roman’s book and was wondering what his mate would be and I was not disappointed. Roman is the big brother of Phillip and Phineas. When they hear that the bakery was re-opening, they all went. Beau came over from the fae realm a year ago with his brother and would be opening the bakery. When Beau and Roman met, they both realized they were mates. I loved the way the story progressed to a happy ever after. Great world building, high heat and chemistry between them. Cannot wait to see who will be next. Here is hoping it will be Evan.

Beau was everything Roman needed and so much more! My heart was so happy to see caretaker Roman find happiness and purpose again. He had become so lonely and lost with no family to care for. I loved the way he doted on Beau and was so over caring. I was pleased this was a mostly fluffy and easy romance. Lovely way to end the series with Roman and Beau!

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to the Destined Paranormals Series. I thought that Beau and Roman were great together. Beau not long ago left the fae realm with his older brother Evan, who also took care of him when their parents failed to return home or make it to the village they were planning on visiting distant family in. His brother Evan is now an enforcer with the Paranormal Council, and Beau with his brother’s encouragement is taking over the bakery. The last thing he expects on opening day is to feel his mate.

Roman, is settling into life as a college professor after taking care of his younger twin brothers for over two decades, he’s struggling a bit with their new dynamic since the twin have both found their mates and started their own families, since he didn’t make it easy when they first mated he’s stepped back quite a bit. He’s just starting to mend things with the twins when he meets his mate.

Beau’s older brother Evan isn’t happy as he’s worried that Beau is now going to have to give up his dreams to start a family. I know that Evan was coming from a place of caring but he was a bit of a d*ck about things. At least Roman understood where Evan was coming from and he was like that towards Phineas’s mate Ramsey, he may have even been a bit worse lol.I’m looking forward to reading more books from this amazing universe that Taylor has created in the future. I’d recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
