NYT and USA Today Bestselling author Kaylee Ryan brings you a new standalone series surrounding the Nashville Rampage football team. Follow the Play is a single dad, nanny, friends-to-lovers, forced proximity sports romance.
Baker
Being a single dad was never part of the playbook, but one look at my son and everything changed.
Now football and fatherhood are my whole world—a world that gets turned upside down when my nanny quits two weeks before training camp.
Sloane Peterson runs interference by stepping in to help.
She's sweet, dependable, and the one woman I shouldn't want. Not when our lives are so entwined.
But every time she smiles at my son—or me—it gets harder to remember that our little arrangement is only temporary.
Sloane
Taking a short-term nanny gig for Nashville Rampage’s most eligible DILF has disaster written all over it.
But when Daddy Sin is in a bind, I do just that. It keeps me from waiting tables, and his son is the cutest little boy on the planet.
Baker Sinclair is famous, has a body like a Greek god, and when he’s in daddy mode… he’s irresistible. He’s also currently my new boss, and completely forbidden.
The longer I'm in his home, the less this feels like a job.
Because between reading bedtime stories and baking cookies, I can't imagine my life without them... either of them. Too bad love doesn't follow lesson plans... or playbooks.

I have been waiting for Daddy Sin & he was everything I wanted & more!! I absolutely loved this book!! Book 4 in the Nashville Rampage Series & I think this was my favorite so far!!
You guys know I love a single dad/nanny trope & this one didn’t miss! I adore Sloane & her sweet, bubbly personality. Baker is just a top tier cinnamon roll vibes MMC & the best daddy! This one had a lot more of the emotional aspects than I was expecting, but it pulled at my heart strings and made me love this one even more. The chemistry, the tension, and the absolute love this book held was truly so good.
I’ve said it before, but Kaylee Ryan writes such amazing found family & this friend group just absolutely has my heart. I can’t wait for more from this series!
Baker and Sloane’s story did not disappoint. We have known the basics of single dad, Baker, and I say single dad, because his son’s mom does not have the same parenting dedication that he does. He also has just lost his nanny, and training camp is close.
Sloane is in a bit of a crossroads as she has just lost her teaching job. With her free time she can watch Cam, as a new job will probably have to wait until next school year. What neither expects is the feelings that are slowly coming to the surface. Looking at each other as more than friends. Sloan is there for both Baker and Cam. Before we know it, the three have formed a unit.
I love how Kaylee Ryan can pull at my heart with her words, swoon at her hero’s actions, and always give me a new book boyfriend.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
I have been waiting. Plotting. Trying to work out the couples for this serious and when Daddy Sin and Sloane were put together I squealed with excitement and let me tell you…Kaylee came to play with this one!!!
This is perfect friends to lovers. It was a slow burn and the feelings unfold when Sloane takes over as Camdens nanny when Baker gets caught off guard by his older nanny leaving. She slides right into their life so perfectly and helps take the emotional load off Baker while he tries to balance fatherhood and his career.
I loved how events that happen in the book push them closer together and then tension really gets high. The lingering touches and the way Sloane never leaves either of their sides just made me melt!
Camden was soooo adorable and sweet, really leaning into Sloane as a mother figure and I loved that Baker took his time to make sure this was a forever situation for them all. They were really mature and respectful of each other (sometimes too much…it’s okay to bang on the kitchen counter 😂) but I adored watching their feelings develop.
This was a chefs kiss. In my opinion, Kaylee’s best book to date!!
What a fabulous romance.!! Baker and Sloane's story is just so perfect I adored it..a love that is built on the strong foundation of friendship..I loved watching that blossom into so much more and my romantic heart was so happy. It is a slow burn with plenty of sexual tension and swoon worthy moments. Baker is a Football player and a surorise single dad,and he is such a great father to Camden..I LOVE him and he is the IDEAL book boyfriend. Sloane has been witin the circle of friends for a long time so when Baker's nanny quits,Sloane steps in to take care of Cam.(He is such a cute and sweet little boy). She is wonderful with him...and she is perfect for him and his dad Baker. Kaylee Ryan has written a swoon worthy book, she really stepped up for this one and it was honestly a story I could not get enough of or put down. A feel good, sweet, steamy and funny read and guaranteed to make you fall in love with these characters and romance. Readers who love single dads and friends to lovers will throughly enjoy this book,I did immensely. Loved it. 5 Stars.- Cat W.
This is another cute fast paced romance in the Nashville Rampage Series. This is book four and I recommend reading the series in order for more character development but it could be read alone.
Sloane has just lost her job due to budget cuts and Baker Sinclair has just lost his nanny so Sloane agrees to help Baker out until he finds a new one.
As you can imagine sparks fly between Sloane and Baker and the two need to figure out what they want from each other before anyone, especially Baker's son Camden, gets hurt.
This book again moves at a really fast pace for Sloane and Baker but the two have been in the same friend circle for years. I did anticipate the events that happened near the beginning of the story and I didn't really feel like it impacted the story in a huge way as you knew that this was all about Baker and Sloane.
Again there wasn't anything huge that the couple had to go through but it was a fast romance with a lot of heat!
Follow the Play delivers all the feels and features the most adorable two-year-old. Not to mention a slow burn romance I could read again and again.
As single dad Baker, aka 'Daddy Sin,' is doing everything he can to be the best dad for his son Camden, he only wishes Camden's mum could say the same. As she once again calls to say she won't be able to pick him up, Baker finds himself stuck, since his babysitter has just announced she’s moving away to help support her pregnant daughter.
But he’s not stuck for long, as his close friend Sloane has just found out she's lost her teaching job and knows the chances of securing another so close to the start of the school year are slim. Therefore she offers to help, as she adores Camden and living with Baker is much better than the garage apartment at her parents'.
However, what neither of them expects is the connection that soon develops as Sloane spends time with Camden and Baker. The pair quickly start to notice each other in new ways. Then, when tragedy strikes, Sloane becomes the one person who is there for Baker and Camden, and he begins to see what it's really like to have someone to lean on and love.
Which makes him determined to follow the play and make Sloane his.
And with spicy moments and the perfect balance of sweetness and emotion, this was an utterly delightful and easy read. Which I adored and would happily recommend to all.
My thanks to Greys Promo. All thoughts expressed are my own. 😊
I loved being back with the Nashville Rampage and watching each of these golden retriever football players fall hard. I devoured this slow burn, Baker and Sloane were perfect together, and Camden was adorable. Watching Baker, Sloane, and Camden become their own little family unit was something special, as they learned to navigate their new normal.
Sloane is trying to figure out what she is going to do after losing her teaching position, due to budget cuts, when Baker Sinclair aka “Daddy Sin” mentions that his Nanny is quitting right before the new football season starts. Sloane offers to become the new nanny for Baker’s little boy Camden and help him out. Sloane is a little nervous moving into Baker’s house because her and Baker have been part of the same friend group for a while, but have not spent a lot of time alone together. The longer Sloane spends time with Baker and his son, it is hard to deny the attraction between them and not only does she fall hard for the single dad, but also his adorable little boy who captures her heart. Baker can’t deny his feelings toward Sloane and finally decides to get the girl, which also includes his son becoming his wingman. I loved seeing Sloane, Baker, and Camden get the HEA they deserved because Sloane was definitely the missing puzzle piece, that they been missing.
"Lines are blurring, and that's not usually something I'm on board with, but in this case, I want them blurred. Hell, I want them crisscrossed and tethered."
Baker and Sloane for the win!! This series has been so much fun but I have to say I think they are my favorite. I also think I say that with each book...lol!
Neither of these two were looking for a relationship let alone with each other. They are friends/found family. Sloane is an honorary aunt to Camden and steps up when Baker needs a new nanny. From that moment on all of their lives take on a new path that leads to the HEA both Baker and Sloan have always wanted and never even considered it would happen with each other.
From the very beginning these two have a strong foundation since they are already friends. Everything just comes naturally to them. It's like Baker opens his eyes for the first time and all he can see is the beauty that Sloane is both inside and out. He is a goner immediately.
I loved how Sloane tried to be the rational thinker in their little bubble but ultimately fails because she feels just as strongly for Baker and Camden. She was the missing piece these fellas needed and completes their little family. Add in the found family dynamics with all of their friends and the amazing sets of parents both Sloan and Baker have and this story will overload your heart with happiness!
First of all, I want to thank Greys Promotion and the author for the opportunity to read this ARC.
This is a single dad x nanny romance, a trope I absolutely love, and it was really well done in this book. The beginning felt a bit slow and repetitive for me, especially with the MMC constantly complaining about his child’s mother—the hatred was reaaaally there. That’s when our FMC comes in, supporting her friend and helping take care of the baby.
One of my favorite parts was the found-family vibe. The players, their wives, and friends truly felt like one big family, which I really enjoyed.
I genuinely liked the story, and once it passed the 40–50% mark, it picked up the pace and became more engaging. That said, it did feel somewhat repetitive at times, and I didn’t feel there were many deep conversations between the main characters—most of their interactions revolved around the MMC’s son.
Still, I did like the couple. They were really sweet, and I kept waiting for them to finally kiss. However, everything happened very quickly, and it leaned a bit into insta-love, so I didn’t fully feel the relationship development.
Overall, this was a good, quick read. I did notice a few typos, but even so, I’m grateful to Greys Promotion and the author for the opportunity to read and review this ARC
Don’t get me wrong, I love every single book from Kaylee. Every single character has wormed their way into my heart and I think of them as part of my own family. But this one was something really special. Kaylee blew it out of the universe with Baker and Sloane.
Baker is such a good man. Since finding out he was going to be a single dad he’s done everything he can possibly do to be there for his son Camden and to be the best father he can be. When his long time nanny has to quit he suddenly finds himself needing help.
Sloane has been in the circle of friends since book 1. I have loved her from the beginning. Shes such a great friend to everyone. After losing her teaching job to budget cuts she steps in to help Baker with his son. She’s absolutely wonderful with Camden and is such a light in both of their lives.
What neither of them counts on is the insane amount of chemistry that would continually fester between them.
I can’t get over how much I loved this book. It was sweet, steamy, and so so swoon worthy. I fell in love from page one and I didn’t want to let this one go. Fantastic job Kaylee and I can’t wait for the next one!
Back with our favorite football players & it feels just right 💙 we’ve been waiting for Daddy Sun to show us how it’s done!
This one was full of emotional energy, the kind you feel deeply and want to relate to - the kind that gives you the comfort you didn’t think you needed but will feel like you’ll never be alone again.
Baker was a tiny but frustrating the 1st few chapters but just as fast he reminded us why he’s part of this team and how fiercely he will fight for the ones he loves. Cam is so adorable, he’s the real star in every page!
I really appreciated how low on unnecessary drama this story was, though staying rich in feeling, trust, and devotion. The found-family in this series is an integral part of every character and their story so getting to see Sloan find the missing part of her puzzle in Baker was organic and captivating.
With every line we get closer to this heartfelt unit Baker, Sloan & Cam form. They wrap us up in a tight hug until we too are part of the Rampage family. Kaylee knows how to write emotional devoted characters we all fall in love with instantly!
Thank you Kaylee for keeping me in your team, this series hits the spot, every time ♥️
Baker Being a single dad was never part of the playbook, but one look at my son and everything changed. Now football and fatherhood are my whole world—a world that gets turned upside down when my nanny quits two weeks before training camp.
Sloane Taking a short-term nanny gig for Nashville Rampage’s most eligible DILF has disaster written all over it. But when Daddy Sin is in a bind, I do just that. It keeps me from waiting tables, and his son is the cutest little boy on the planet.
Between reading bedtime stories and baking cookies, I can’t imagine my life without them… either of them. Too bad love doesn’t follow lesson plans… or playbooks.
Follow the Play is the 4th book in the Nashville Rampage series, centering on the characters Baker and Sloane. We were introduced to both Baker and Sloane in the first book, and they have made appearances throughout the series. Honestly, I never anticipated that they would end up together. They always maintained a friendly rapport, yet there were no flirtatious exchanges between them until this book. After finishing this story, it became clear why they were destined to be together; I found myself tearing up at various moments. It was truly a beautiful experience to witness the evolution of their relationship. It was simply meant to be.
If you're looking for a book that evokes positive emotions, pulls at your heartstrings, showcases found family, and features a nanny/single dad dynamic, then this is the perfect read for you.
Kaylee Ryan did it again! Follow the Play is everything I love about her single-parent romances. Baker, his two-year-old son Camden, and Sloane completely stole my heart.
Camden was pure sweetness and totally unintentional wingman perfection. Nothing was planned or forced—he was just being a toddler. When Sloane gave Camden kisses, Camden immediately demanded she give kisses to his daddy too, and Baker absolutely ate it up. Every time Camden pulled Sloane closer—whether it was insisting she lie down too while Baker or Sloane read him a book or creating those small, intimate moments—Baker happily took every excuse to touch her. There were so many scenes like this, and each one melted my heart.
The slow burn between Baker and Sloane was flawless. I was cheering for them the entire time—the quiet flirting, the lingering looks, the barely-there touches, and all the feelings they weren’t saying out loud. Every small moment, every touch, every cheek kiss made me feel it.
Baker was everything—loving, devoted, and peak book-boyfriend material. I need a Baker. We all need book boyfriends to turn real.
Sweet, emotional, and completely swoon-worthy. Kaylee Ryan delivered once again, and I loved every single page.
Baker Sinclair and Sloane Peterson’s story is a perfect mix of heart, heat, and humor. From the very first page, you’re drawn into Baker’s world of football, fatherhood, and the chaos that comes when his nanny quits just weeks before training camp. Sloane is the perfect contrast—organized, sweet, and utterly irresistible—making their “temporary arrangement” feel anything but temporary.
The chemistry between Baker and Sloane sizzles, but it’s the tender moments with Baker’s son that really steal the show. Bedtime stories, cookie-baking sessions, and small gestures of love make this romance feel real, warm, and deeply emotional.
The tension of forbidden attraction keeps the pages turning, and the story strikes a perfect balance between steamy romance and heartfelt family dynamics. If you love single-dad romances with sizzling tension, adorable kids, and emotional depth, this book will hit every sweet spot.
Follow The Play by Kaylee Ryan is book 4 in the Nashville Rampage series and it was so perfect! Daddy Sin was SO WORTH the wait! If you love a single dad falling for his nanny with the hottest slow burn, YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!
We have been waiting for Daddy Sin, we just never knew who he would end up with. And OMG, Kaylee made it perfect with Sloane. These two have known each other forever. Baker is the star football player, surprised one day with the news that he was going to be a father to the perfect little boy, Camden. Through the first books, we watch him grow into the most amazing daddy and man. With an amazing group of friends that are really family to help him along the way. Enter Sloane, one of those friends who at the perfect timing of him losing his nanny is ready and able to help. To watch these two fall in love was everything! Sloane is so sweet, kind and comes right in knowing exactly what these two need. She brings such peace and understanding to the chaos of a single daddy’s life. Baker is pure yummy cinnamon roll energy—the PERFECT golden retriever MMC and the best daddy. There is such a deep slow burn, that when these two finally give in, PURE FIRE!!!
One thing I absolutely love about this series is the way KAylee weaves these characters as a true found family. You laugh and cry and honestly want to be a part of them all!!
This book was so much more than just spice, it took me on such a beautiful and emotional rollercoaster ride. I loved how pure and raw it was. I loved the honesty between these two. I laughed, I cried, I felt it all soul deep. The chemistry, the tension, the overwhelming love was so perfect. These two are my favorite couple in the series. I can’t wait for the next book! Please go read this series, it is that good!

💙 Single Dad 💙 Nanny Romance 💙 Friends to Lovers 💙 Slow Burn 💙 Found Family 💙 Forbidden Feelings
Yet another hit in this series! Kaylee once again gives us a tough football player who will have you swooning and a heroine who you will instantly love! Add in his son Camden, and you've got a hit here! 5 Rampage stars for this one! Baker is a single dad to his son Camden. His son's mother and he share custody of him, though she's always away with her fiance' and usually misses her week with him. He just wishes she valued her time with his son like he does. When his nanny has to leave to help her daughter, and the season starting soon, he needs to find a replacement fast, and he won't just have anyone, he has to know and trust the person. When Sloane steps up, having just lost her teaching job, it's a win win as Camden knows her already! She gives his son so much love and is teaching him so much, and he's all of the sudden noticing how beautiful she is! Now not only is his son infatuated with her, he is starting to feel things also! Oh boy, what a cliche', the boss and the nanny, but she's more than that, she's showing his son so much love and attention, all the things he needs! He's in trouble! Sloane is so happy helping Baker care for his son! Since losing her job, she felt lost, but now she has a purpose, and this little guy has stolen her heart! Not to mention, seeing Baker with him is doing all sorts of things to her heart! She always knew he was a good dad, but being with them she witnesses it first hand! She's falling for him and his son in the worst way! These two and their attraction, when they come together they light up the days and nights! I swooned and fell in love right along with these two! Kaylee always delivers, and this one didn't disappoint one bit! Grab this asap!
‘Follow the Play’ was a book that I did NOT see coming. I mean yes, I knew it was coming, BUT I did NOT see it coming. This book is so well written like, I cannot even put it into words. It’s just EVERYTHING. You get your cake and ice cream and heck while we are at it, all your favorite toppings too. There’s twists and turns that threw me for a loop, but this author knew how to balance every second of it, so I was able to enjoy the ride for everything it was, and what a ride it was.
Admittedly, I have been a wh**e for the ‘Nashville Rampage’ men. They are all unique in their own ways. These men are some of the best Heroes this author has ever written but I have to say, Daddy Sin for the win! He somehow, some way, surpassed every Hero this author has written and when I really think about it, Sloan has surpassed every previous Heroine too. I cannot put into words how incredible these two characters are. As individuals, and as a team. I have never, never, seen two characters more deserving of each other. Sloan and Baker are THE power couple. They are THAT couple.
Typically, I give a more detailed review but this time, I can’t. It’s impossible. There is not enough words in the dictionary to sum ‘Follow the Play’ up. If I’m being honest, even if I could, I wouldn’t. This author deserves every single person to experience all the emotions of Sloan and Bakers story through her incredible vision and one of a kind story telling. It should go without saying, I recommend this book. I recommend this to be your next read. No, I actually recommend you stop your current read and open this one up. You WILL not regret it.
Swoon-worthy doesn’t even begin to describe the romance Kaylee Ryan has created between Baker and Sloan! I mean from page one these two will grab your attention and refuse to let it go! I have loved every one of the Nashville Rampage books but there was something about Baker and Sloan that you just can’t help but fall in love with them and root for their happily ever after immediately. So, if you’re looking for a sports romance that’s is full of swoon-worthy moments, fabulous characters, so much chemistry, plenty of spice, and our two main characters finding slowly finding their happily ever after with very low angst then I highly recommend grabbing a copy of Follow the Play today!
From start to finish I couldn’t put this book down! I simply had to know what was going to happens next and can honestly say when I hit the epilogues I was shocked because I wanted to much more of Sloan and Bakers romance! I could truly read another whole book about the two of them and Camden and their amazing family. I have loved every book in the Nashville Rampage series and can’t wait to see what’s next!
This is the fourth book in this impressive series, and this is Baker and Sloane’s story. Baker is embracing his football career, and being a single dad to his son, but when the nanny quits 2-weeks before training camp, Sloane steps into help. This is a well written easy to read, slow burn story, with family, friendships, emotions, forced proximity, boss / nanny, friends / lovers, devotion, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and fun, football romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Baker and Sloane were everything I wanted and more! I am a complete sucker for friends to lovers and these two were just so good
Also Kaylee just writes these down bad, green flag men so so well and I find myself falling for each one more than I did the last.
Also Baker is a single dad, and the cutest dad ever, so say less. I love him, I love Sloane and I loved this journey for both of them.
✨ Football Romance ✨ Friends to Lovers ✨ Single Dad x Nanny ✨ Forced Proximity ✨ Cinnamon Roll MMC ✨ Found Family
I love friends to lovers, and especially when there is a moment when everything shifts and they see each other as something more. For Baker and Sloane it was a hundred little moments where she fit into his family so well and they just created this little unit.
As always the found family vibes in this are top tier and this little team family has my entire heart. I love them so so much.
Read this if you love sports romance and love a sweet and spicy story with all the feels.
Single dad/nanny/friends to lovers… this book covers it all. Baker and Sloane are perfect for each other. There is not much spice, but the story is very sweet.
when i read book 1, even tho it was eh to me, i wanted the bestfriend’s story more than anything and it just wasn’t hitting for me… i fear the writing style isn’t my cup of tea like back when i was in my cliché wattpad days
I have loved this series and have been waiting for Sloane to find her person, I thought it was going to be Landry but Kaylee faked me out but I just love the single dad/nanny trope.
Sloane finds herself unemployed after layoffs at her school. Baker’s nanny has a family emergency and quits. She offers to help him by nannying for Camden. They become close friends as she stays with them but they both feel more. It’s a slow burn as they both realize they are moving into territory that feels like a relationship and then decide to follow their hearts or the play.
I loved them together. They supported each other and were open and honest. Camden was the cutest child, one of the best I have read. Of course their found family was back supporting their friends on their journey to their HEA.
What I love about this series is that the couples are so strong together and work through issues together. There is no bad miscommunication which I dislike in books. Just beautiful love stories. Daddy Sin was sexy, hot and a total cinnamon roll protector with a heart of gold. Sloane was sweet, strong, loving and understanding of what her boys needed.
I enjoyed this book and didn’t want it to end. Can’t wait for the next one!
-Football romance -Under 300 pages -Single dad -Nanny FMC -Found family -Dual POV -Spice
If you aren’t sold after those ^, then idk what to tell you! I love Kaylee Ryan’s sports romances, because they are easy to fall in love with, fast paced, swoony, filled with care and emotions, and have some spice in them.
Baker is so sweet, and caring- I couldn’t get over him. And all of the thoughtful things Sloane did? Well I fell in love with her too!
HIGHLY recommend this story, and the rest of the Rampage players stories- to any romance lovers!
Follow the Play by Kaylee Ryan is an engaging sports romance that captures the thrill of college football alongside a sweet, slow-burn connection between a dedicated athlete and a strong-willed heroine navigating family pressures and personal dreams. Their chemistry builds authentically through teamwork, banter, and vulnerable moments, making the romance feel grounded and heartwarming. I enjoyed Ryan’s vivid game-day energy blended with off-field tenderness that adds emotional depth.
Ryan’s writing shines with relatable characters, authentic sports details, and a supportive cast that enhances the small-town college vibe without overwhelming the central pair. The themes of loyalty and chasing dreams resonate strongly alongside the budding passion.
While friends-to-lovers and sports tropes are familiar, Ryan’s fresh voice, emotional authenticity, and satisfying payoff keep the story compelling and uplifting. Pacing moves briskly with highs and lows, though a few family conflicts could have been explored more deeply.
Overall, Follow the Play is a fun, feel-good read for fans of sports romance with heart. I’m rating it 4 stars and look forward to more from Kaylee Ryan.
I absolutely loved Baker and Sloane’s story. We’ve met them both in previous books in the series so I was so happy to see them be the ones to end up together.
The two of them being friends first was the perfect aspect in my opinion because once that all changes and becomes more, they have the strong foundation of friendship.
Camden absolutely stole the show in my eyes and he was so sweet and precious. Baker loved that little boy with everything he had and wanted what was best for him. Sloane already loved that little boy, but stepping in to help as a nanny, only made them grow closer. Camden and Sloane built such a pure connection and he was smitten from the get go.
I felt like Baker and Sloane’s progression from friends to lovers was so natural. It was a slow burn with a good amount of flirty mixed in but once Baker made his mind up, there was no stopping Daddy Sin.
A Jersey moment, the perfection of found family, the sweetest little boy and so much more is what you get with this amazing installment in the Nashville Rampage series.
-single dad/nanny -friends to lovers -forced proximity -found family -football
I really wanted to like this book. It's a cute predictable story. Typical friend of the family helps out as nanny and becomes an instant mommy and girlfriend. There's no drama in the book. Multiple times it's like the author tried to make the story a tad more dramatic but changed her mind. Birth mom dies suddenly here's a chance to give the story some depth but nope let's just continue on with the Minutia of everyday life with a 2 year-old. The kid gets sick and it seems like it is a big deal but no on to Halloween costumes. I'm honestly amazed that I finished this totally unremarkable boring book.
Please be Baker and Sloane (fingers crossed) It was and I loved it. No big angst but all the feels. Just a front row seat watching them fall in love. Swoony
