NYT and USA Today Bestselling author Kaylee Ryan brings you a new standalone series surrounding the Nashville Rampage football team. Change the Play is a found family, forced proximity, workplace, sports romance.

Foster
I learned early how to survive on my own. Keep my head down and my past locked away.
My childhood taught me that nothing lasts and no one chooses you forever. So I built a life free from love—and pain.
Football gave me discipline. Success gave me distance. Silence kept me safe.
Then Eden walked into my house.
My new housekeeper. Someone meant to clean my messes and remain on the edges of my life.
Except she didn’t stay on the edges. She saw me—really saw me—and didn’t look away. Her laugh somehow turned my empty house into something that felt like a home.
With her, the walls I spent years building began to crack.
Loving her means risking everything. It means believing I’m worth choosing. She makes me want to stop hiding… and change the play.

Eden
I know what it’s like to grow up unwanted. To pack your life into boxes and pretend it doesn’t hurt when no one ever unpacks them for you.
Loneliness taught me independence and resilience, to build a family from the people who stay. I never expected more.
Then I met Foster.
He’s quiet and guarded, carrying the weight of a past he refuses to name.
Working for him was supposed to be simple—do my job, keep my head down, don’t cross lines.
But the more time we spend together, the more I see the man beneath the armor. The one he hides from the world.
We weren’t looking for love. Yet somewhere in the stolen moments, we chose each other.
And for the first time, I’m not just building a family—I’m finally home.

Kaylee Ryan absolutely did it again! I have loved the entire Nashville Rampage series so far, but Foster’s book is one I have been waiiiting for since early in the series!! This one absolutely didn’t disappoint!! By far my favorite I’ve read!

Foster & Eden’s story had me feeling so much! This one as sweet, emotional, and the perfect amount of spice that just had me loving it every second!

Two people with rough pasts, who are able to not only heal, but give each other a safe place to feel seen! This one tugged so hard at my heart string and had me rooting so hard for them!

Again, Kaylee has written the best found family/ friend group with these side characters and just created something so beautiful within their friendships! I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!

This book wasn’t loud or chaotic — it was quiet, aching, and deeply emotional in a way that sneaks up on you.

Foster and Eden aren’t two people looking for love. They’re two people who learned early that love doesn’t stay.

Foster’s character hit hard. The emotional restraint. The discipline. The way he built his life around control because control felt safer than connection. Football gave him structure, but it never gave him home. Watching his walls slowly crack — not because Eden forced them down, but because she made him want to lower them — was everything.

And Eden? She’s strength in soft form. She doesn’t need rescuing. She’s already survived. Her resilience isn’t loud; it’s steady. She chooses people. She builds family. And the way she sees Foster — truly sees him — without trying to change him made their connection feel earned.

The employer/employee tension adds that subtle edge, but this isn’t about scandal or drama. It’s about two lonely people recognizing something familiar in each other. The stolen glances. The quiet moments in an otherwise empty house. The realization that maybe love doesn’t always leave.

What I loved most is that this story isn’t about fixing each other. It’s about choosing each other. Over and over.

It’s soft healing. It’s vulnerability. It’s “stay” instead of “leave.”

And that kind of love?
That’s the one that lingers. 🖤

I have followed Kaylee since day one. Each story I read, I swear I say this is my favorite.

There was something so special about Foster and Eden that I can not even put into words.

After years of hearing how sad he was about his past was more anticipation for this book!

True love. The story of getting to know one another and relying on someone when that was never there before, beautiful!

Amazing!!

Change the Play by Kaylee Ryan is absolutely incredible! It is a superb age gap/love at first sight love story and is the fifth book in her Nashville Rampage series. Foster Vaughn is so hot and the perfect hero. Kaylee Ryan is an amazing storyteller and is a must read; one click author for me. I was hooked from the first few pages, it was impossible to put Change the Play down, and I loved every moment on every page. It filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions. It is the most enjoyable books that I have read recently. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I love how Kaylee Ryan always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. Change the Play is the story of Foster Vaughn, starting halfback of the Nashville Rampage, and Eden Miller, house cleaner for Dust ‘N Shine. Foster walks in on Eden cleaning his kitchen, she informs him that she is taking over his account, since his former cleaning lady, Tiffany’s husband job was transferred. Foster does not want to cross the employer/employee boundary with Eden, even though he is immediately attracted to her. Eden and Foster both have suffer from trust issues and soon discover that they have more in common that they originally thought. They both grew up in the foster care system, even though Foster’s experience was slightly different from Eden’s even if he does not realize it. I love the chemistry between Eden and Foster, their conversation flows so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and Foster constantly flirting and dirty talking. As Eden comes three times a week to clean Foster’s condo, prepare meals, and spend time together in his condo and at the children’s home things change between them. I love all the little things that they do for one another and some of the advice that Eden gives to Foster. I love all the changes that both Eden and Foster are willing to make in their lives to have a life with one another. One of my favorite parts of the story are the heart-to-heart conversations between Eden and Foster, when they discuss their shared experiences in the foster care system, and when Foster discloses that he proposed to his college girlfriend, Violet the night he was drafted by the Rampage. I especially love the conversation that Foster has with Hope and Nathan Pruitt, his high school football coach and last foster parents. I love all the changes that they are willing to make to have a life with one another. The text streams are another favorite part of the story. I love how the wives of his teammates embrace Eden. I love all the unexpected plot twists that happen in Change the Play. Another favorite part is the gift that Sloane gives to Eden to wear for the first pre-season game. My favorite part are the epilogues one told from Foster’s perspective, the other from Eden’s perspectives and how it goes above a happily ever after. I love the surprise that Eden has for Foster. My favorite part is Foster’s proposal, and how he realizes that Eden has helped him find hope, and love again. Another favorite part was the bonus scene shown from Foster’s perspective it is the perfect ending of their love story and all the changes that they have made together. I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. I love that the dialogue that Kaylee Ryan chooses perfectly fits her characters. My favorite part of the book is how Kaylee Ryan incorporates the title of the book and the picture on the cover into the love story, and how the title is used multiple times throughout the story. This page turner is filled with heartbreaking, heartwarming, poignant, and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists and surprises, as well as all the moments that make me laugh that I have come to love and expect in a love story and was not disappointed with Kaylee Ryan’s delivery of those things. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Change the Play. The characters feel like family and friends, especially Eden’s relationship with Corie, Rowan, Bellamy, Sloane, Amanda, and Foster’s teammates. I love that their friendships feel like family. I enjoyed all the interactions between all the Nashville Rampage football players it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love the descriptions of the Nashville location. I loved the relationship between Foster and his teammates. I loved Change the Play and am so excited to read the last book in the series, even though it will be a bittersweet series ending book. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? This book had my interest from the start, and I fell in love with the story. I thoroughly enjoyed Change the Play who does not love a love at first sight/age gap love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story. Received an advanced copy from the author.

Oh my heart! I’ve been patiently waiting for Fosters book since book 2 of The Rampage Series. And I will tell you the wait did not disappoint. Foster Vaughn has stolen my heart just like all the other Rampage men. Foster has always felt like the odd one out even. Last one of his whole friend/family group that’s single, looking from the outside in. Fear of opening up. Foster had a rough childhood, one he’s never spoken about or even told his rampage family about. His HS coach and his wife took him in and cared for him, but he was always waiting for the other shoe to drop. He believes that the past should stay in the past and he’s okay with that. Until a special someone comes and knocks down all his walls, a day at a time. Oh I could talk about this book for days! Believe me when I say this will not disappoint. It will give you all the feels! The love, laughter, heartache (good kind I promise) HEA. You will just fall in love with Foster instantly oh and don’t get me started with Eden. Eden! I loved her. She was so sweet and kind and brave! She knew what she wanted and was not scared to go after it. After years of shying away and following her everyday life she finally decided to take the leap with Foster. I loved that she knew exactly how to bring Foster out of his shell without pushing him. Their attraction was instant! My favorite thing thought was that they started as friends. And it grew into so much more. They bond over their past experiences & hardships and they understood each other in ways that made Foster question his fears and wondered if he’s ready to move past them. Foster and Eden were just perfect! It was all so easy and natural. The banter, comfort level, and the emotional connection between the two was amazing. They built the friendship, trust and it lead them to their forever love. I’m a sucker for found family and how everyone is always there for each other 🤧😭 . My favorite part was when Foster finally got to experience the gift that Sloan gifts all the rampage ladies. Hehe. If you have loved the series so far I promise you Foster & Eden story will not disappoint. This was such a heartwarming, sports romance. Every time I read a Kaylee Ryan book I remember why I love romance books. Beautifully written. I’m so incredibly honored and grateful for the ARC 💕

O Kaylee Ryan! This series is just so damn good! Change THe Play is book five in the Nashville Rampage series. This series has such a STRONG sense of love, laughter, growth, healing. The found family in each book makes you wish you had this in your life! And the spice is always burning hot!

We met Foster Vaughn in the first four books but never knew his story. And I knew it would break us beautifully. He was always closed off and quiet about his past. And we finally learn why. Growing up in foster care, he learned quickly to never truly count on people or love. He learned to survive by himself and called it good enough. This man had been through some hurt and closed himself off to the chance of real love. Bring in Eden Miller. Come to clean his home and from day one there is just this underlying connection. BECAUSE she too was raised in foster care. Never truly experienced being loved or taken care of. Always protecting herself and her heart. This girl is strong and independent. And so sweet and caring! So much love she has to give. He is quiet and guarded. But they both have such a fierce care for others, a protectiveness of the few they hold close. You will fall in love with these two! As they slowly connect into a deep friendship which slowly turns into the undeniable connection so soul deep. And their passion is so beautifully hot as many firsts are shared forever.

And the found family. I am telling you, it makes these books! These 5 players and their women and children are there daily through every moment. The banter, their laughter and tears and the healing is pure gold!

The story of Foster and Eden is a beautiful romance about being enough, about belonging to a family that isn't blood, about being loved for who you truly are unconditionally and being vulnerable and letting people see the real you, past and all. This book is so so swoon over and over again! Go read this book and series! And we have one more! And I cannot wait!!

Change the Play by Kaylee Ryan

What its About: Foster

My Thoughts: 4/5 stars. Fosters book did not disappoint at all. I have been intrigued by him and what his story was going to be from the beginning. He is such a sweet man and im so glad that he found his forever and let himself love/be loved. Eden is a sweet girl with a past just like Foster's and these two are perfect for each other. I honestly wish all friend groups were like these football players and their families.

Spice rating: 🌶🌶. Spice is definitely not the main focus of the book here.

I am so incredibly grateful to Kaylee Ryan for this Arc opportunity. All of these thoughts and opinions are my own!

Change the Play by Kaylee Ryan gave me ALLLLLLL the feels! This is one of those books that you want to slow down with and savour, but you can't stop yourself from flipping the pages to get to the HEA! Foster is the broody one of the group....he's the "damaged" one, the one who has built a wall around his heart so high and so strong it seems impervious to romantic love. He loves his friends, his "family by choice" and now that they have all found their "one" and started having babies, his family has expanded (right along with is love for them all) BUT, he's not open to finding that for himself. If you don't wager your heart, you can't get hurt, right? Foster knows exactly how that feels and has vowed to never be in a position to feel it again....until Eden blindsides him, that is!

Eden starts working at Foster's house as his housekeeper. Her friend group is small, she really only has her bestie, Carrie, her husband and kids. The instant chemistry between Eden and Foster is obvious and only deepens as they get to know one another. The slow and steady build to becoming friends takes both of them by surprise, but it's how they understand each other and their pasts that leads to MORE! Eden manages to bring Foster out of his shell and makes him realize just what he's missing in his life! Will he be brave enough to let the past go and trust in what he and Eden are building?!

This book had me all up in my feels pretty much the whole time! The heartache, the banter (especially between Foster and his chosen Nashville Rampage "brothers" and their spouses!), the tears when Foster opens his heart the whole way with the people that he loves, the love overflowing for these characters that FEEL real!

Ms. Ryan did NOT disappoint with the BEST book in this series (in my humble opinion) Foster and Eden are right up there with my fave couples from this author!!! You NEED to read this AMAZING, topsy-turvy, rollercoaster ride of a romance that grabbed a hold of my heart and hasn't let go ASAP!!!

Foster Vaughn has always been the quiet, guarded one of the Rampage crew. He's the man who loves his teammates fiercely but keeps his own heart locked away. Growing up in the foster system taught him early that people don’t always stay, so he built his life around control and emotional restraint. Football gave him structure and family, but it never gave him the sense of permanence he craved.

Then Eden walks into his life.

Eden is strength in its softest form. Raised in foster care herself, she understands Foster in ways no one else ever has. She’s resilient, kind, and quietly powerful. She doesn’t try to fix him. She doesn’t push. She simply sees him and offers him safety, patience, and understanding. And somehow, that’s what breaks down his walls.

Their relationship unfolds beautifully and naturally. What starts as small talk turns into friendship, comfort, and trust. Quiet dinners. Easy conversations. Shared vulnerabilities. A slow, steady build that feels completely earned. There’s no unnecessary drama, no messy misunderstandings; just two people learning how to open their hearts and choose each other.

The employer/employee dynamic adds subtle tension, but it never feels forced. Instead, it gives them the space to grow closer in a way that feels organic and believable. Their chemistry is undeniable, but what truly makes this story special is the emotional intimacy.

And the found family? Absolute perfection.

The Rampage crew is the heartbeat of this series. The banter, the loyalty, the unconditional support — watching them wrap Eden into their circle and stand beside Foster as he finally opens up was incredibly moving. These relationships feel real, meaningful, and deeply earned.

At its core, this story is about belonging. About being enough. About learning that family isn’t always blood — sometimes it’s built through love, loyalty, and choice. It’s about trusting someone with your past and believing that this time, love might stay.

Change the Play
Nashville Rampage Book 5
Kaylee Ryan

Foster and Eden

Five men, best friends, teammates, family by choice. Foster has always been the quiet one. He never really opens up nor talks about his past. He has watched his four best friends find their forever loves and he is thrilled for them. But he also wants that, and doesn’t think he will ever have it. He thinks his opportunity is gone.

Foster gets home to find out his cleaner has moved and a new woman has started. Eden. He can't deny her beauty and admits seeing her three times a week might be an issue. Eden can’t believe she is cleaning for Foster. She didn’t know at first and now he stands in front of her. Gorgeous. She knows he is completely off limits but he is hard to ignore. What starts out as small talk, turns into dinners together, and small trips. They have a lot in common and find a sense of comfort in that. The friends start to notice a lightness to Foster, a smile on his face. He knows it’s time to tell his friends his story.

This was everything! I knew we would have to wait for Foster, as he had the most to tell. My heart bleeds for him. The hurt. Obviously I wanted all the men to find their HEA but I’ve been routing for Foster from the beginning. He was everything we’ve been waiting for. A great friend. A wonderful Uncle. A swoon worthy boyfriend. Such a teddy bear. And Eden..she hasn’t had it easy either and loved how she just fit. Not only with Foster but with the Rampage family. The smiles, the laughs, the tears, as Foster and Eden have to learn to trust again. Their friends in the background are always willing to offer their support and love. A beautiful story! (Side note- I bet I know who is next 🙂)

I love this series and the mysterious loner Foster Vaughn’s story was so different from the normal tropes. Foster grew up in the foster system and in high school was taken in by his football coach and his wife. His fear of them letting him go like so many others prevented him from fully bonding with them. Then his longtime girlfriend Violet who he made plans for a future with rejects his proposal. Afterwards he safe guards his heart. Then he meets Eden his new house cleaner. An instant connection sparks. They become friends after they find they have growing up in foster care in common and that they volunteer at the same children’s home.

Kaylee brings us on such an emotional and rewarding journey with this couple. We see the transition from employee/boss to friends to lovers. Discovering everything about each other, learning about each other, building trust that is so hard for them. Learning to open up and really let their found family into their lives. To take risks and grow together.

Foster and Eden tugged on my heart for their hard lives and the strength they had. They handed each other their fragile hearts grateful for the time together even if it all crashed around them.

I loved how the Rampage crew took in Eden and how Eden’s bestie and her family embraced Foster. Nathan and Hope, who took in Foster made me cry as they solidified their relationship with him.

What I truly love about this series is the commitment and communication the couples have for each other. How they talk through things and evolve and come into their own, fight for a better life together.

Loved this book and am looking forward to seeing more of this couple and the rest of the bunch in Risk The Play up next!

Wow! I could not put this one down! Foster and Eden, my new favorite couple! Kaylee did an amazing job writing their story! Two hurt souls, that found each other and started to heal! 5+ Nashville Stars for this one! It is a must read!
Foster had a rough childhood, until someone wanted him. His coach and his wife took him in, gave him everything, but he was cautious because the other shoe always drops. Even his college girlfriend walked away from him, he thought she was the love of his life. So now he's got his Rampage family, but they've all been finding their happy ever after's and starting families, and he wants that so bad, but he is afraid to trust. Heck he hasn't even told his Rampage family about his past. The fear of more rejection lives constantly in his mind. One day, he finds a woman in his home, not his usual cleaning lady, and to say he's instantly attracted to her, wow! His guard is up, but Eden, he sees something in her eyes, a pain he knows all too well, and after she leaves, he needs to make things right with her.
Eden grew up in the foster care system, being bounced around from family to family. Now she's been working for the cleaning agency for years, doing a great job, and she meets Foster, and he's so hot, but her words she has with him, she expects to be let go. When she returns to his home the next day, he apologizes and makes her breakfast! These two become fast friends, fighting the attractions they have, can they keep that up?
This story, was so touching, as I said two hurt souls finding each other! It was perfectly written by Kaylee, I was hooked from the first page, and didn't want to let them go. Grab this one asap!

Change the Play is the fifth book in the Nashville Rampage series, but it was my first and I had no trouble jumping in– it definitely works well as a standalone.

Eden becomes the new cleaning lady for Foster, a professional football player, which sets up the workplace dynamic in a way that feels organic rather than forced. Their attraction is instant, but what I loved most was how their relationship grew from friendship into something deeper. They bond over similar past experiences, and that mutual understanding makes their chemistry feel more believable.

Foster and Eden's dynamic felt easy and natural. The banter, comfort level, and the emotional openness between them really worked for me. The forced proximity never felt gimmicky; instead, it gave the characters the space to build trust and real intimacy.

I especially loved the found family aspect. Foster's teammates fully embracing Eden added so much warmth to the story and made the world feel fuller.

There's a great balance of steam and emotion, with minimal angst– which I personally appreciated. Overall, Change the Play was a sweet, sexy, low-drama sports romance with strong chemistry and a satisfying emotional core.

From the heartfelt prologue to the final epic epilogue, Change the Play completely owned my heart.

I know I sound like a broken record, but Kaylee Ryan truly is the QUEEN — yes, capitals absolutely required — of dreamy, captivating, swoon-worthy romance. With her Nashville Rampage series, every single hero has scored big… but Change the Play hits differently.

From that emotional prologue to the very last page, I was rooted to my seat. And even when it ended — especially with that epic final epilogue and the perfect bonus glimpse — I still wanted more. But that’s always the way with this author. You never want to leave her worlds.

Foster is the quiet one of the group. He keeps his circle small — his teammates are more like brothers — and as each of them finds their forever, he starts to feel like he’s standing on the edge of something… he just can’t quite name it. Completely convinced he’ll never fall in love and destined to stay single forever, he isn’t looking for anything.

Until he walks into his house and finds his new housekeeper. And just like that, his world tilts on its axis.

Watching Foster unravel — slowly, cautiously — is everything. And Eden? She is simply wonderful. Warm, resilient, and quietly strong. As they begin to open up to one another, the layers of their shared past unfold. Both having grown up in the foster care system, their connection runs deeper than attraction — it’s understanding, it’s belonging, it’s finally being seen.

The found-family element in this book is so poignant. Seeing the team’s women immediately wrap Eden into their fold was perfection. That sense of community, loyalty, and unconditional love makes this series feel so special.

And here’s what I adore most about Kaylee Ryan’s writing — she doesn’t need dramatic third-party breakups to create tension. The emotional depth, the backstory, the character growth — that’s what carries the story. When the writing is this strong, you don’t need unnecessary angst to deliver a five-star read.

Change the Play is tender, emotional, deeply romantic, and filled with the kind of devotion that makes your chest ache in the best way. Foster and Eden’s story isn’t loud — it’s steady, meaningful, and beautifully earned.

If this is where book five has taken us, I cannot wait for book six. I have a feeling our emotions are about to be taken to an entirely new level… and honestly? I’m ready. 🏈💕

Foster Vaughn is the last of the Ramoage crew to fall. He’s the most withdrawn of the group. Even though he considers the guys his brothers and loves them and their growing families, he doesn’t share much of himself. We finally get all the background that makes Foster Vaughn the man he is.

Eden Miller is the first woman to have Foster feeling something. She’s Foster’s new cleaning lady. She’s nothing like the old one who was married and older. She’s young, spunky, and gorgeous. She has a past similar to Foster and understands him in a way no one else ever has. She’s got her own past that has affected her present, but Foster is the first man she’s thought about having something with.

As per usual, they guys are on his side and try to help him through all the noise, so he can see what is right in front of him. Eden has her own bestie there to help her out the pieces together and encourage her when needed.

These two spend a lot of time in their own bubble as it’s the off season and Foster isn’t wanting to share what they have. Eden is just happy to have whatever Foster can give her knowing what she knows about his past.

Mostly these two just needed time to figure their own trauma out. Eden got there a lot faster but was too afraid to voice it. Foster was too damaged by the past to open his eyes and his heart but even he couldn’t deny it for long.

There isn’t a lot of football in this football romance, but the moments there were felt right with the story.

Change the Play finished off the players romances beautifully. I hear that’s not the end of the series though. It seems Coach Warner is going to fall next.

Happy Reading.

Just when I thought it couldn’t be done, Kaylee Ryan delivers the best Rampage book yet. Change the Play completely wrecked me—in the best way. One minute I was heartbroken, the next I was falling in love. I didn’t think anyone could top Reid and Landry's books, but then Kaylee threw broody Foster into the mix.

Foster Vaughn hasn’t had an easy life. Growing up in foster care shaped him in ways even his closest friends and teammates don’t fully understand. The fear of rejection and the instinct to protect his heart have followed him into adulthood. He’s mastered the art of keeping people at a distance—until Eden.

Eden is simply trying to make ends meet as a house keeper. When she’s reassigned to Foster’s home, she’s nervous but quickly realizes there’s more to him than his guarded exterior. What starts as a quiet crush grows into something deeper as she slowly chips away at the walls he’s built around his heart. Eden doesn’t push—she stays. And in doing so, she helps Foster see that not everyone walks away and that sometimes, you have to change the play to win the game.

This slow-burn romance had me reaching for tissues, laughing out loud, and reading well past bedtime. The emotional depth, vulnerability, and growth between Foster and Eden felt real and earned. I couldn’t put it down—and when it ended, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye.

Foster and Eden will capture your heart just as surely as they captured each other’s. If you love emotional, character-driven romance with a hero who fights his past to claim his future, Change the Play is a must-read.

I love this series. I love these men. I love them women that they love on so hard, and Foster and Eden are no exception. Foster has always been the more closed off of the group and Kaylee did a phenomenal job giving us his backstory. They both had me all up in my feels. Foster and Eden both had rough pasts and childhood scars that prevented them from opening up.

Even after all his years on the Rampage, his teammates didn't know about his childhood. Foster carries this huge fear that if he opens up about the past, it will somehow repeat itself. He will get left behind again. Until one day he meets Eden. Eden's story mirrors Foster's in so many ways so she sees him like no one ever has. She begins to break down all these walls he had without even realizing it, while he does the same for her.

I loved the journey they took together, they both healed each other. They opened themselves up not only to each other but to those that love them and they were keeping at arms length. The attraction was instant, but it was the soul deep connection between the two of them that got me. Foster realized that what he thought was the ending of a dream from years ago, was the universe telling him he hadn't met his other half yet. These two complete each other perfectly.

As always the Rampage crew are phenomenal. The way they rally, support, and are just this incredible found family is everything. If you loved the previous books in the series, then Change The Play will not disappoint. I can't wait to see who the final book is all about.

There are honestly no words to describe how much I loved this book.

From the very first chapters, I was completely obsessed with Foster and Eden. Their story had my heart in a constant state of ache and adoration. My heart broke for both of them at different points — two guarded souls who learned early not to expect permanence, trying to figure out what it means to be chosen. Watching those walls slowly come down? Absolutely everything.

This dual POV sports romance delivers so much emotional depth. Foster’s life in professional football gives the story that high-stakes backdrop, but it’s the quiet, intimate moments created by the forced proximity and workplace dynamic that truly shine. The found family theme woven throughout made the emotional beats hit even harder.

I made so many heart eyes. So many reader noises. I laughed more than once. And I fell completely in love with this couple.

Kaylee Ryan writes guarded hearts beautifully. You can feel the hesitation, the fear, and the vulnerability as Foster and Eden begin to let each other in. Their connection feels tender, authentic, and completely earned. The ending was absolutely adorable and left me with the biggest smile.

There was just so much I loved about this book. I truly cannot say enough good things about it.

Spice note (for readers who like specifics): chapters 12, 13, 17, and 20.

Thank you to Kaylee Ryan for the ARC — this story completely stole my heart.

“I guess fate finally brought us together,” I tease to lighten the mood. Because he’s right. I would have remembered him, too, and hearing him say he would have remembered me has my heart squeezing inside my chest. “Fate,” he muses. “Is that something you believe in?”

Change the Play | Kaylee Ryan | Nashville Rampage #5

Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5, 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

“I don’t know what happens after tonight, but this doesn’t feel reckless. Hell, it doesn’t even feel temporary. It feels like a choice. One that we’ve both made. One that will not only complicate but also change the dynamics of who we are to one another.”

Read this if you love: forced proximity | found family | workplace romance | football romance | guarded heart

“None of it feels as real as the way my chest tightens when I imagine a world without her in it. I’ve never needed someone like this before, and the realization should terrify me. Instead, it feels like coming home. This is bigger than anything I’ve ever felt before.”

I knew early on in this book it was going to be emotional and beautiful, and it did not disappoint. I was not expecting Foster’s story to be this powerful, but I’m so glad it was. I loved Eden from moment one. When everything just clicked with them and their pasts, it was magic.

Thank you @kaylee_ryan_author for the eARC. I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

There is more to family than blood.
Foster is talented player for the Nashville Rampage football team who is afraid of opening up to his friends about the scars of his past.
When Eden, his new housekeeper, shows up at his house, all bets are off.
Eden is caring, attentive and beautiful and shares all his fears and past experiences. Talking to someone who truly understands, open up his heart and his mind.
They are similar and both afraid of getting hurt by letting someone in and realise they are not enough.
While becoming friends and sharing their stories, they inevitably fall in love – the big, forever kind of love. But will they open up to love or let their fears consume them?
Change the Play is another book in the series that does not disappoint and keeps elevating our reading experience.
The story of Foster and Eden is a beautiful romance about being enough, about sense of belonging, about being loved for who you truly are and letting people see the real you.
Change the Play is a workplace, forced proximity sports romance where the characters become each other’s safe place, where the sense of found family is key and where you will find spicy, funny and sweet moments that you will love and get you hooked on the series.
Thank you for the ARC.

The ‘Nashville Rampage’ series has had me in a chokehold. I anxiously await every Hero within this found family, knowing this author is gonna somewhat decimate me and then put me all back together. Kaylee Ryan is an incredibly talented author that always has me coming back because I crave her storytelling. Her words are truly one in a million.

“Change the Play” was not what I anticipated. I could have never drummed up a storyline like Foster and Eden’s, in any capacity of my brain. How this author does? It’s beyond me. This story was deep. There was vulnerability that was soul shaking. There was emotion, but there was healing. There was uncertainty, but understanding. There was just, everything I needed that had me grasping for more.

I adored Eden and her ability to be so positive, given life’s curveballs. She’s was gracious, kind, and understanding when she had every reason not to be. At times, I wanted to kick Foster in the head to loosen his self deprecating ways but he fought for himself, and what he deserved. He showed up, he put in the work, and in the end that’s all that matters.

Given my review, I obviously recommend this book and will anxiously await the next in this series.

Foster Vaughn has been the most mysterious Nashville Rampage member in this series. You sense something or someone has hurt him badly enough that his walls were pretty thick even with his best friends.

Oh my heart. That prologue. I just wanted to give Foster a comforting hug. The prologue introduces why Foster is the way he is. You really just want to give him a hug after reading that.

Eden is Foster’s new house cleaner when his previous cleaner unexpectedly moved away. Foster is attractive to Eden at first meet. This togetherness forces the two into each other’s orbits. You are simply giddy with each encounter. Eden and Foster have very similar backgrounds. That commonality aids them to open up to each other and eventually Foster to his friends. You learn so much about Foster when he opens up to Eden.

Eden and Foster’s story flows well. Change the Play is such a pleasurable read. Eden brings out the best in Foster and his friends call that out right away. This group of football players are truly a found family. I enjoyed reading their togetherness.

Thank you to Kaylee Ryan for the advance reader copy. I reviewed an advance copy of this book freely and voluntarily. I received no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.

I love Foster and Eden. Neither of them were looking for anything, but their connection is pulling them together.

Foster has been quiet about his past, which after reading this book I can understand why. Eden grew up in a similar way. These two share an experience and understanding about it, which only helps bring them closer. It is easy for them to open up to each other. I love how much encouragement and support Eden gives to Foster, especially about opening up to his friends and the family he has found himself. I also love how easily they have all accepted Eden into the family they have made.

It is impossible not to absolutely fall in love with Foster and Eden. I adore the two of them and how perfect they are for each other. I didn’t want their book to end.

Of course, what is a Rampage book without some Rampage family moments? I love how close these guys, their wives, and their kids are at this point. They are always hilarious and they all are so good together. I love the little moments with them.

If you’re looking for a workplace, found family, sports romance check this one out.

I have been waiting for Foster's story as his tortured past has been hinted at in the books in the series so far. If you have been reading the series to this point, you may think this is going to be a second chance romance, but it's not (thankfully... second chance is my least favorite trope!). It's about finding love in the most unexpected places. Eden is a breath of fresh air (and the real love of his life) that Foster recognizes but doesn't acknowledge until it's almost too late because he has built walls based on his fear of rejection.

There are moments when a third act breakup seem inevitable, but Kaylee refuses to take the bait (another thank you... third act breakups aren't needed to build tension as good authors know and Kaylee is a great author). Themes of found family, friendship, and love carry the emotional elements of this book from start to finish. A birthday getaway to Florida, bringing a bucket list wish to life, characterize the heart of the story, showing that Foster loves Eden before he acknowledges it.

A lovely, heartwarming story that brought a smile and a few tears as Eden and Foster found their HEA.

I know I say this every time I read a book from this series, but the books keep getting better and better. Foster completely stole my heart. From the moment I picked up this book, I couldn’t put it down.
You might ask yourself what it is that I love so much about these books… it’s pretty simple:

*There is no third‑act breakup
*There are no unnecessary miscommunications that create conflict between the main characters
*The main characters take time to get to know each other before jumping into an intimate relationship
*There are so many positive themes, like friends who become family; children who get a second chance at the love of an adult; going to counseling when needed; and supporting each other’s dreams

Foster and Eden are absolutely adorable together. The fact that they both come from “the system” and have suffered through abandonment issues makes their connection even deeper. I also love seeing characters from the earlier books show up. Fear not—if you haven’t read the previous books, you won’t miss anything in this story, but I highly recommend them.
I can’t wait to see more of Foster and Eden in future books—and to find out what happens with Amanda.

This story gave me all the emotions! I had been eagerly anticipating Foster’s story, and it was absolutely perfect. I adore this series, especially because it dives straight into the action from the start. Eden hadn’t had an easy life, but she was such a strong, independent woman who didn’t need anyone to define her. I loved the friendship Foster and Eden built, rooted in a mutual understanding of their pasts and the freedom to open up to one another. When these two fall they fall they fall hard and I for one just loved that part of the story. There were so many elements of this story that I loved. Nothing felt rushed, and I found myself falling more in love with the characters with every page. The support from their friends was heartwarming, and I especially loved Knox in this one—he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. Landry brought plenty of laughs, which was a highlight for me since he’s one of my favourites. Kaylee has such a gift for creating stories about found families, and this series has been incredible. I’m absolutely loving it and now can’t wait for the final book!

“For once, I let myself believe that wanting something doesn't make me weak. It makes Me brave.”

Because for the first time, I'm not wishing for more.
I'm not searching for what's missing. She's here. She's mine.
And somehow, that's enough.

Kaylee scores a touch down again! I absolutely love this series. Foster is the quiet one of the group. And he a heavy past. He meets his new house keeper Eden and sparks fly. He’s drawn to her and can’t shake her from his head. As they get to know each other they find they have a lot in common. Both growing up with similar backgrounds. Eden tries to get Foster to open up and see that he has a family, that he can open up to them. That he is enough. And they’re both supportive of one another I just ate this up! This was such a touching story. You don’t want to miss out on this emotional read! The emotional journey was so worth the read. I wish I could read it again for the first time.

**Finding Peace!**

I just finished "Change the Play," the fifth book in the Nashville Rampage series, and I loved it! Foster, the quietest and most guarded guy in the group, really comes to life when he meets Eden, who’s taken on the task of cleaning his house. It’s amazing to see how they connect through their similar backgrounds.

What’s great is that neither of them was looking for love at first sight. They start off as friends, getting to know each other more deeply. Throughout their journey, they both heal from past heartbreaks, which helps them build a strong, healthy relationship.

Kaylee has such a talent for creating a supportive found family that truly loves and accepts everyone. Her writing captures the essence of friendship beautifully! The banter among the guys had me laughing out loud, and I just adore the girl gang—they’re totally my kind of friends! I can’t wait for the next book! I really hope it’s about one of the girls who definitely deserves her HEA!

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

If you are looking for a captivating, beautifully written and emotionally addictive romance, then this book is for you. Ms. Ryan is one author who will always be my one-click. No matter the trope, she delivers stories that will live with you forever.
Change the Play, the fifth book in her highly riveting Nashville Rampage series and with each book, she pulls us in and plays with our hearts. Here she tells us the story of Foster and Eden. These two have a connection that is so unique. Their backgrounds are very similar, but their present lives are very different. He is a pro football player and she works as a house cleaner. Foster keeps his past a secret but when Eden shows him that it is his past that made him the amazing man he is today, he realizes that he can open up to the fond family he has in his teammates. Foster sees Eden for the caring, loving and special woman she has become and gives her the same advice she shared with him. These two are soulmates and it takes friends, found family and forced proximity for their love to cross into the end zone.

Change The Play was a slow-burning, poignant story that should come with an emotional damage warning.

I was already curious about Foster and why he was so adamant about his friends fighting for their love.
Out of all of our players, he was the one who never gave anything away. And boy, oh boy, I was not ready for the emotional damage this book inflicted on me.

Learning about Foster’s past, the things that he endured before he joined the Rampage family, was like a kick in the teeth.
Totally unexpected.

Learning that Eden had a similar upbringing? It broke my heart.
Seeing the lingering effects from the trauma they endured early on kept me hooked, despite how hard my heart hurt for them.

This book was by far the most impassioned of the series, not only for our MCs but also for others in their orbit.

I have never been so blindsided by a book before. I was in no way ready for the intensity of the feelings that were uprooted by reading this story.

That being said, I can’t wait to see what the final book in the series will gift us.
