Notorious charmer Kane “Demon” Fox learned the hard way that love is a liability. Since losing his wife, he's built walls no one can breach—keeping his focus on the mission and his team. Feelings are a risk he can't afford to take ever again.
Until a stranded beauty with haunted eyes makes him question everything.
Daphne Bryant thought Sutton's Creek was far enough to outrun her past. With forged papers and a fabricated history, she's desperate for a fresh start in a small town where people are decent and life is uncomplicated. She’s joined a book club, found friends, and landed a job working for six gorgeous men who run the local gun range.
She’s safe and thriving—until someone breaks into her apartment and leaves a calling card she recognizes all too well.
Trusting the wrong person could be fatal, but Daphne’s running out of time—and Kane is a friend, even if she wants him to be more. As danger circles closer, the attraction between them becomes impossible to deny. Vows break, hearts and bodies tangle, and secrets implode.
If Kane’s going to save the woman he desperately doesn’t want to love, he’ll have to realize that the past doesn’t control the future. Because some ghosts aren't meant to stay buried. And some hearts are worth fighting for.
A small town, friends to lovers, hidden identity, military protector romance from NYT bestselling author Lynn Raye Harris
Lynn Raye Harris is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of sizzling military romantic suspense novels and contemporary romance novels. She lives in Alabama with her husband (former military), her cat, and her American Saddlebred horse.
I mean, is anyone shocked that Lynn wrote another banger of a book? Because I’m not! I absolutely LOVED Kane’s story.
From Kane being a so-called “playboy” who only sees Daphne as a sister while actually secretly wanting her, to Daphne testing this poor man’s restraints while single handedly being a boss lady.
And boy oh boy am I excited for Ethan and a certain librarians story. Single mom and hot commando? Sign me up! I also have a theory about said single mom’s daughter and who her dad is, but I’ll save that for later 😉
And we are just one book away from getting Alex “Ghost”s book and I think it’s pretty obvious that Diana is gonna be his lady. I’m very curious about how the mission will end and what’s going to happen to the range, but we still have Ethan’s book to look forward to before then!
Daphne, when she found out what her family was really into she ran, she got all the evidence she needed and did her best to stay hidden.
Sutton Creek was never supposed to be her long term destination, just one of her many hideaways.
Kane, is one of six highly trained operatives. He and his friends are ghosts. With one mission, to protect their country. To do this they are disguised as former military operatives starting over as civilians.
This hero married young but sadly secrets and betrayal led to him being widowed very early and he has so much of regrets and guilt. He doesn't believe his cut out for a long term relationship anymore. But what you see isn't who he truly is.
The fourth book in the Ghost Ops series and I swear it's getting better and better. I absolutely loved the slow burn, tension, the chemistry and when the hero finally snapped the spice!
Daphne was strong despite what she was going through, and knew what she wanted. Kane was so protective of her and keeping her at arms length was no use especially when Daphne gives him a peace of her mind.
𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬
Ethan and Paisley! And Alex & Agent Corbin! Shew those two 🔥
This is the fourth book in this incredible series, and this is Kane / Demon and Daphne’s story. Kane is a widower who after losing his wife, he has built impenetrable walls around his heart, while Daphne is on the run from her past, and is hiding in plain sight. Kane is opening himself up to love again, and when Daphne’s past comes back to haunt her, he is determined to keep her safe and protected. This is a well written story, which has found family, friendships, emotions, secret identity, friends / lovers, forced proximity, secrets, military protector, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, small town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Kane is book 4 in the Ghost Ops series by Lynn Raye Harris. Kane Demon Fox is the charmer of the six men who own One Shot Tactical. When they found Daphne Bryant hiding in one of the units in Emma's and Blaze's buildings, he stepped up to be a big brother to her by finding her a place to stay and a job at One Shot Tactical. Will Kane forget about Daphne's age and step up to protect her when someone in her past wants her dead? The readers of Kane will continue to follow Kane and Daphne to discover what happens.
I love this series, so after reading the first book, I had to read the whole series. Kane continues my love affair with this series, and I engage with the story and characters from the first page. Kane made me realise that child abuse does not have to come from mother and father; it can be between siblings.
I love Lynn Raye Harris's portrayal of her characters and their interactions throughout this book. Kane is well written and well researched by Lynn Raye Harris. I like Lynn Raye Harris's descriptions of Kane settings, which help me imagine myself as part of the book's plot.
We’ve always known that Daphne is running from something or someone…but the revelation of the the truth is one I certainly did not see coming. Kane has some secrets of his own that were surprising as well but overall the chemistry between Kane and Daphne was off the charts HOT..no pun intended😊
The story was captivating and I’m sitting here writing this review, smiling to myself because of all Alex/Ghost’s sighs and comments😂 I’m also super excited for the next book as I think I already might know a bit about Ethan’s lady to be😉 I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️🩹
Kane and Daphne!!!!! Will they or won’t they? That is the question. Attraction doesn’t always equal a hea right? Or does it… lol Kane says he is too old for her… should age ever come into it if two people are drawn to each other like magnets? Daphne is trying to hide in plane sight but what’s going to happen when her secrets come tumbling out? Will she run or will she stand and fight for what she wants, and what she truly wants is Kane and her life in Suttons Creek:
This story became my favourite so far in this series very quickly, I love Kane and Daphne they just go together. I love all the characters and the storyline’s are all well worth reading and now I’m excited for more.
Aww Kane, so many secrets running around the gun range. So glad that most of them came out. Daphne has loved Kane from the first night they found her squatting in an empty apartment. Love this series, nice hot sexy men and strong women, with lots of hot sex.
Kane is book 4 in the Ghost Ops series and follows love 'em and leave 'em man ho Kane as he falls for sweet and not so innocent Daphne.
Kane has lusted after Daphne since the day he met her in the abandoned apartment in the Sutton building. He has kept her at arm's length and treated her like a little sister. Because she works for the shooting range, Alex has deemed her off limits to all of the guys.
Daphne is a princess. She works hard and has organized all of the guys at the range. She is mysterious, never talking about her family or her past, but then the guys do not talk about either of those either. She has made friends in Sutton's Creek and even joined a book club.
But the past never stays in the past. So when Daphne notices oddities at her apartment, she figures her time in this town has run out. But she likes it and she likes her job and her friends. Maybe she is imagining things.
Meanwhile, Kane and Daphne are dancing around each other. She is tired of him treating her like a little sister and he knows she is off limits no matter what. However, these two are an explosion waiting to happen. Now whether that will be a knock down, drag out fight or an intensity to be satisfied on every flat surface in the house remains to be seen.
When a threat comes after Daphne, Kane is the one who will protect her. But what will he think when she tells him about her past and what she is hiding from? Will he help her escape, will he help her fight, or will he walk away?
Kane and Daphne kept me on my toes reading this book. I truly enjoyed her prowess as a markswoman. I think men forget that yes, women can shoot and be accurate.
There is so much about her past that we had no idea about. But her fear at some simple things reminded me that life can throw you a curveball, but it is what you do with it that counts.
Kane's past is also filled with secrets. His team knows what happened, but they do not know everything. His story is heartbreaking. When he tells Daphne the entire story, her anger is justified. The fact she feels so strongly tells me that she is the person who can help Kane heal and open up again.
Kane by Lynn Raye Harris, book four in the Ghost Ops series, is a small town, friends to lovers, hidden identity, military protector romance, a roller coaster of emotions and secrets, making it the perfect mixture of romance, action, and suspense; keeping me on the edge of my seat.
Daphne Bryant is on the run, from something she refuses to share when the Ghost Ops guys found her hiding in an apartment, homeless and jobless. The guys offer her a job as One Shot Tactical’s receptionist. Daphne is strong, snarky and had sarcasm down to an art, keeping all the men in their places and calling them on their crap. She was also smart and talented, taking on more jobs to free up the guys. Daphne was attracted to Kane Fox, having feelings for him that she tried to hide. Kane gave off the appearance that he only saw her as a little sister: too young for him and keeping her at arm’s length. Both Daphne and Kane are hiding secrets. When a customer at One Shot Tactical recognizes her from her “old life” she knows danger is heading for her, haunting her, making her want to go on the run again. Instead, Kane moves Daphne into the farmhouse with him and Ethan.
As the danger from her past increases so does the tension between Daphne and Kane, until it finally boils over these two come to realize what’s truly important in life and what’s worth letting go. Their snarky banter simmers with unspoken heat until Daphne hits back with fire of her own, sending Kane into a tailspin. The tension between them is electric, with plenty of laughter and teasing, much to the delight of the gang watching it all unfold. When the danger finally strikes, the mood shift, and the team jumps into fierce, protective mode over Daphne. Watching Kane’s walls crumble and his inner protector emerge is deeply satisfying as he has finally met his match; a woman who thought hiding in plain sight was a way to avoid being found.
Ms. Harris does an amazing job at weaving the high-stakes tension with the protection and nurturing of a romance between Kane and Daphne. This is not only a story that’s not only about love but about fighting for what is right. The bond and friendship with the entire Ghost Ops team is entertaining and their women fit right in. If you love military protector romances, strong-willed heroines, and emotionally complex heroes, you won't be able to put this book down. Look forward to Ethan’s story next.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. #Kane #LynnRayeHarris
An exciting slow burn. Kane & Daphne meet when Daphne is squatting in the Sutton Building after losing her job. The Ghost Op guys find her and decide to give her a job as the receptionist at their gun range.
Kane & Daphne’s journey is filled with angst, frustration and a sexual awareness that neither wants to acknowledge. The Ghost Ops is Kane’s mission and highly classified resulting in a huge secret. Daphne’s entire life is her huge secret. Neither one of them is talking, but they each suspect the other is hiding something.
I sympathize with Kane and his reluctance to let his guard down and allow his heart to get involved in any encounter he has with women. Daphne is so sweet, which is a complete opposite personality that should have been expected giving her upbringing and family business. Together, these two are HOT! Both have secret longings for the other.
I love how the Ghost Ops team is so hands on and present in the entire story. They mirror each other in a way with their mission standards and each is adamant about falling in love, until they do. Kane is no different. I found it very entertaining when he defends his belief that he will never fall in love. The team’s humor, as well as their seriousness for their mission, is crucial to this story. I enjoyed the details surrounding Daphne’s shooting ability and how it is revealed and the surprise it brings to the team.
I appreciate how the author gives each Ghost Operative a unique challenge with their circumstances and the woman they interact with. Each one is suspenseful and different. She keeps it fresh and exciting to keeps us jonesing for more! This story has it all with Secret Ops, FBI interference and a dangerously criminal family. Each installment is superb and they keep getting better
Kane is a story of two people that have lived through fire and find their way to one another, even as they fight their need for each other and try to deny their feelings. Kane’s past has led him to keep his heart encased in steel, refusing to allow another woman too close and get his heart broken. But Daphne has pulled at him from the very beginning, despite all the walls he’s tried to throw between them and when she is in trouble he will pull out all the stops to keep her safe, even if it means he loses his heart to the sassy redhead. Daphne never imagined she’d find her best friend, much less the love of her life while on the run from her past, having landed in a small town in rural Alabama. She is determined to protect that love, especially from the psychopathic monsters in her past when they come after her, but Kane is just as determined to protect her, so maybe the answer is that they need one another to survive. I loved the way both Kane and Daphne had push and pull moments with one another, the intensity of their chemistry moving between fighting and *ahem* loving equally as they came to terms with their needs. That fire they found for each other is once in a lifetime and once they accepted that, it made it so much easier for them to give into their hearts’ desires. I am dying for Ethan because that story is bound to be even more crazy as he and Paisley (re)connect and we hopefully get to see more of Ghost and Diana before their book as well. I truly don’t know how she does it, but once again Lynn Raye Harris has dazzled me and I am thrilled I got to read this story.
Typically, I read Lynn Raye Harris for the heroes--and Kane is definitely a protective hottie--but to me, the heroine, Daphne, was the stand-out in this story.
Friends to lovers, these two work together and fight like crazy to keep themselves in the friend zone. But once the threat to Daphne (If you've read the previous books in the Ghost Ops series, you can piece together that she's been on the run and hiding from something in her past. She now works for the men at the gun range.) surfaces, all good intentions fall by the wayside. She's a badass in her own right--not nearly as fragile as Kane seems to treat her--and she's not about to stand idly by and 1. allow herself to be hurt or 2. allow Kane to ignore the sparks sizzling between them.
There are some ups and downs as truths are revealed and trust is shaken. But Ghost Ops protects its own--and Daphne, who manages their business and turns out to be a bookkeeper extraordinaire, is definitely one of their own. A little more is revealed about the overall storyline of the series. Alex once again gets his knickers in a twist as the men under his command on this undercover mission once again ignore his one rule--to stay single and unattached--as Kane realizes the pain of his past, and bone-deep trust issues, mean little when the right woman throws herself in his path, and he falls in love.
I'm loving this series! I can't wait to see how hard Alex is going to eventually fall, too. I've wanted his story ever since I started reading the HOT books. We'll have to find out about Ethan first. I feel like we know him the least of all the heroes in this series, so I'm anxious to get to know what makes him tick, and why he's shook up about meeting the new librarian in town, Paisley.
Kane and Daphne were one of my most anticipated books of this series (except for maybe Ghost and his FBI agent Diana 🤣) The two have been circling each other for three straight books and I loved watching it.
Honestly, getting to know Daphne in this book was a TREAT. Learning that sweet, polite Daphne was actually a secret badass was the most unexpected but absolute best way this book could have gone. One of my favorite things about Harris’ books is that her women are almost never a wilting flower and Daphne the least wilting of them all.
I adored how Daphne kept putting all the men in their places and calling them on their crap. Even Ghost managed to be chagrined when he realized what a colossal prick he had been by dictating her love life behind her back.
I also liked how often Kane floundered around her. Self assured, smooth talking, womanizing Kane was constantly putting his foot in his mouth with Daphne and I adored it. I loved seeing him meet his match.
The story line weaving through the series is really starting to come together and the author is doing a fantastic job with pacing through this series.
I only had one small issue with this book and that’s how much was disclosed to Daphne. With Callie, I understood. She had security clearance and was already working on the project. But Daphne had none of those things and was not only related to a major mafia king but an active part of his empire at one point. While I understand disclosing some things, I feel like the amount that they disclosed was more than they would have in real life.
This book was so well done and I am so happy about that since it’s had so much build up. Eagerly anticipating Ethan and Paisley
Daphne Bryant moved to Sutton Creek to get away from her criminal family. Before she left, she took all the evidence that could be used to convict her father and brother. She was cleaning at a hotel and squatting in an apartment when Kade and a couple of the guys found her. They gave her a job at One Shot Tactical as the receptionist. Kane Fox is one of the six men in Sutton Creek that are there on a secret mission. Kane is attracted to Daphne but his heart is walled off and he has no plans to let anyone in again. When someone breaks into Daphne’s apartment, she goes to stay with Kane and one of the other guys. Kane doesn’t want to hurt Daphne but he can’t stop thinking about her and when she kisses him, all bets are off. When someone slips a playing card under her door, she has to come clean with Kane and the rest of the guys. Now her brother is in town and he wants the stuff Daphne stole from the family or he’ll hurt a guy she went out with. Will Kane take his head out of his butt and admit his feelings for Daphne?
By now y’all should know I’m not very good at writing reviews. I try my best. This is steamy. Action. Friends to lovers. Two people keeping secrets. This is an excellent story and it just keeps you hooked from the beginning. I love Mrs. Harris’s books and can’t wait for the next one.
If you love romance with a mix of suspense, small-town charm, and a broody hero who swears he’ll never fall in love (but totally does), Kane is going to be right up your alley.
This story has just the right balance of action and heart. Kane is tough, guarded, and absolutely determined to keep his walls up after losing his wife. Then in comes Daphne, the seemingly sweet woman who’s trying to rebuild her life. She’s funny, likable, and tougher than she first appears. The chemistry between her and Kane is impossible to ignore, even though both of them keep trying to fight it.
What makes this book work so well is that it’s not just about the romance (though, trust me, the sparks fly!). There’s also plenty of suspense and danger, with Daphne’s past catching up to her and Kane forced to decide what matters most - his mission or the woman who makes him feel alive again.
In addition to all that, you’ve also got humor, witty banter, and the whole Ghost Ops team adding both camaraderie and comic relief. They really feel like a family you want to keep following, which makes the entire series addictive.
Overall, this book is a fast-paced, steamy, and surprisingly tender romance that keeps you flipping pages to the end. If you want something that blends action, emotion, and a hero who learns love isn’t weakness, this one definitely delivers.
Ghost’s operatives are having a hard time following the no attachment rule and the next one to break the rule is Kane aka Demon, who for many months has been denying his attraction to Daphne, their employee at the gun range. Ever since Kane and his team found Daphne huddled in the unfinished apartment, she has been attracted to Kane but he treats her like a little sister. She has had it and doesn’t hold back on the innuendos, tempting, flirting, and comments that have Kane reeling….until he snaps…and when he does, all his reasons to stay away seem petty as Daphne is more than he ever imagined and can’t get enough. Daphne has her secrets which land her in danger and when it interconnects with a case Kane and his team are investigating and all is revealed…they may be done before they even started. Another great addition to the Ghost Ops series that had me flipping the pages as Daphne’s secrets are revealed and oh boy….you don’t want to miss this reveal. The story flowed beautifully with descriptions and the banter between Kane and Daphne that were spot on, add in the steam, suspense, and amazing characters…hits the target downrange dead center. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Kane and Daphne. From book one we knew Daphne had some secrets and now we get all her secrets and Kane’s baggage and there are some doozies! Their chemistry comes to a head at the same time as danger comes to call. The team all have opinions as it is their Daphne, but they also all support Kane and them as a couple. Alex/Ghost is of course his grumbly self, but the man is also a marshmallow how he immediately goes to bat for her against Diana. Side note~ I can’t wait to see those two and their story! Family is the background element for this book and both Kane and Daphne. We see the beauty of the team and family, but also some sad and harsh family moments with Kane’s first wife and Daphne’s dad and brother. Emma, Rory, and Callie were a hoot and all the women were present with the book club and supporting Daphne. The townspeople, especially Colleen, were a delight and I adored how Kane showed his love at the end with those tickets. This was a great read and addition to an outstanding series.
The ending has a precursor to the next book, as did some scenes with Ethan and the new librarian throughout this story. I have to wonder if the child is Ethan’s or if it somehow else they know each other?!?!? Can’t wait!!
Another fantastic book in the Ghost Ops series! I’m loving watching each of these seasoned special operators fall in love while on a secret mission to protect a top secret project.
Kane has been Mr Charming in the previous books and he’s been treating Daphne as a little sister. While attracted to Kane since the first Ghost Ops book, Daphne became friends with Emma, Rory and Callie. We learn in this book she has a dangerous secret and is so much more than the sweet receptionist.
I love how we get to know these two main characters and then the suspense and drama starts to ratchet up until things are pretty intense. The development of the character and their relationship happens as Daphne and Kane spend 24/7 together. I loved how he started to open up and share some really personal history.
The bond and friendship with the entire Ghost Ops team is entertaining and their women fit right in. The ladies welcome Callie to their sisterhood, and Ghost is beside himself with the rate his men are falling in love.
This is an entertaining and exciting book!
I received a free ARC from the author; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
So glad we finally got Kane and Daphne’s story! If you have been reading this series, this relationship has been coming since the first book. I loved getting the backstory to both Kane and Daphne in this book and how their story falls in with the overarching story for this series (although there is background information included to help you know what’s occurred if you haven’t read the other books in the series).
I loved the banter between Kane and Daphne – especially Daphne calling Kane gramps when he kept referring to her as a kid. Add into the banter and the tension between Kane and Daphne someone from Daphne’s past showing up and a mystery Daphne knows the answer to from the Ghost Ops side of things and you have a story that almost feels too short!
As always, I also love the sighs and consternation from Alex as another Ghost operative bites the dust (and I love how Daphne is this book is confused at his exasperation!). Overall, great addition to the series and I can’t wait for the next book!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book. This is my true and honest opinion.
Ghost Ops are a team of men who do not exist. They work dangerous missions and have no family or connections. Not so true any more as so far three members of the team have found their “person” and as this story progresses it looks like Kane is next.
Daphne has a mysterious background. She makes the appointments and does some accounting for the One Shot Tactical Team. She pays cash for everything and avoids any official paperwork. Kane treats her like a sister, though all are aware there is more of an attraction there.
The reader learns of Daphne’s background. Also, a possible overlap in the mission One Shot Tactical is hiding behind the gun range and security company.
Danger comes to call and protective instincts kick in. Secrets must be revealed, and everything changes. This team has become my favorite. Emotional, romantic, intriguing, bits of humor and reminders of the prior books as the team comes together to grill out or save lives.
***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****
A woman hiding behind a fake name vs. a man hiding behind a playboy persona.
Daphne is running from her past and gets waylaid in Sutton's Creek after falling in love with the town. The hotties who found her hiding out and gave her a job didn't hurt her decision to stay either. And one hottie in particular. A man who drove her crazy in every imaginable way. Their banter is epic with an underlying tone of heat. They try to ignore their attraction until the heat wave breaks and they can't keep away from each other any longer. But can Kane allow her past the walls he's built up since the death of his wife? Can he let go of his guilt? And can Daphne see past the playboy persona to the true man beneath? But what will happen when he discovers who she truly is?
While the majority of the book is the two of them bickering at each other, the anticipation of them finally getting together builds throughout. The slow burn keeps the pages turning. And when it finally happens...explosive. Another great read that builds the mystery behind the Ghost Ops team's true mission.
Kane and Daphne were so good together. I loved the way they were both denying what they wanted.
One Shot Tactical's receptionist, Daphne had her secrets operator Kane knew that, but he wanted to know her secrets when trouble came.
The slow build of the relationship as well as the slow build of the danger getting closer made for great parallels in the story. Daphne is was strong, snarky and had sarcasm down to an art but Kane knew there was more to her than what she was revealing. She was smart and talented and Kane became more enamoured as time went on.
I enjoyed the guys as well. That team spirit but also that kidding around until things got serious.
Suspenseful, mysterious, danger and intense plus I enjoyed the romance and steamy times as well. The whole experience was wonderful.
So well written. A plot that kept me enthralled and characters so likable and I could get behind made this a great read. So good!!
Kane is the latest member Ghost Ops team member to fall in love with a Sutton Creek local, and the boss is seriously getting irritated. They are supposed to be ghosts. Daphne important to the business. She keeps it running. What happens when friends run out of snarky comments and give into to their attraction to each other? Fireworks and an entertaining office life occur. Daphne is not who she appears to be. She ran away from her life, and now danger is coming for her. The team can protect her if she will just tell them what they are up against. That information also helps with their secret mission. It is fun to watch the drama as Kane and Daphne take the next step in their relationship and admit their feelings for each other. Their comments towards each other are hilarious! This book kept me captivated and turning pages. I can’t wait for the next book! You can always get a great romantic suspense story from Lynn Raye Harris!
If you've been reading the series, you likely have been impatiently waiting for Kane and Daphne's story just like me and it definitely does not disappoint. The build up to this story had us more than ready to find out Kane's backstory as well as Daphne's. Daphne has been a bit of a mystery but finding out she was running from a lethal family definitely came as a shock to everyone. Kane's history made him very distrustful and in no way ever willing to commit to another woman, but Daphne made him want more. So many surprises, twists, intrigue and drama in this one! But Daphne is one of their own, and they vow to protect her no matter what, especially Kane as he realizes just how deep his feelings are for her. Daphne has loved Kane since she first laid eyes on him, but she's willing to take what he'll give her and hide her true feelings. When it all comes to a head, and Daphne is in danger, the team pulls together. No spoilers, but you definitely don't want to miss this one!
This series just gets better and better! We finally get Kane’s and Daphne’s story, and boy is it a good one! Kane has a reputation of being a player, but shockingly enough, we learn that he’s really not. His past has left him a little gun shy of getting involved in another relationship, which you’ll learn about when you read the story. He has feelings for Daphne, but he treats her like a little sister to keep her at arm’s length. Now Daphne, her story is very, very interesting. I absolutely love this girl! The way that she gets in Kane’s face and calls him out on his shit is hilarious! She has so much depth to her and the way that she totally shocks not only Kane, but Alex and then the rest of the guys had me in stitches. She was totally not what these guys were expecting which makes her perfect for Kane. When these two finally let down there defenses, watch out, cause they are hot, hot, hot together! Great story and I cannot wait for Ethan’s story next!
Kane has been hovering around the Ghost Ops’ gal Friday Daphne since they set up shop in Sutton Creek, telling himself to keep it friendly. Well, it’s about to get real when Daphne’s past oars back to exact revenge.
Daphne enjoys working for the guys, but she has always had a soft spot for Kane, the big oaf. She doesn’t like being treated as a kid sister, though because she would like a whole lot more. Kane has got locks around his heart, though from losing his wife so long ago that he’s never recovered. Daphne has a whole lot of trouble. Kane is going to have to decide if he wants to step up and help her and risk losing his heart or if he’s gonna remain on the sidelines while all of his other buddies except for Ethan are settled down. Well, and Alex and I have a feeling that Alex is heading a major confrontation with Diana Carbon, the FBI agent who keeps Showing up.?
As usual Lynn gives us a sexy, spicy romance with plenty of action. It’s definitely worth the read.
Daphne and Kane can finally do something about their feelings. It’s like a grade school crush with hair pulling and name calling. The constant bickering and sass was definitely fun to read and I’m hoping LRH had a blast writing these two. We’ve always known there was something about Daphne that she was keeping private, but that’s over now. The guys have agreed to protect Daphne when her past finds her, and it’s more than she could ask for. Now that there’s more couples than single guys it’s sweet when they get together and the girls are instant besties and the guys look out for everyone. This series is just as outstanding as the others and I highly recommend reading in order to understand the backstory that continues throughout. I’ve had the privilege of reading an early copy and wrote my review voluntarily.
On the run from her family and the terrible deeds they do, Daphne comes face to face with six big strapping fierce men when they find her asleep in a abandoned building,, Kane is the one she focuses on when he's trying to protect her, keep warm and fed, everyone has their own secrets whose is worse and will they be able to forgive each other in the end, I absolutely love the fake age gap banter between them, kid, sister like, gramps, little blue pills, fiber medication, but they fit together, and she fits perfectly with his team and their girlfriends, and Ghost well he's just Ghost unable to keep his team from falling for the locals, I'm afraid he's going to fall the hardest of them all eventually, LOL, exciting from beginning to the end, outstanding job done well Lynn Raye Harris, thank you, Dana Zamora
A great addition to the Ghost Ops Team series by Lynn Raye Harris. Kane, the ultimate flirt among the team has been eying Daphne, their support admin at the front of their gun range and self-defense place of business, for awhile trying to convince himself they are just friends. Daphne is frustrated with his lack of interest and both snarl at each other at every opportunity. When Daphne's past comes back to haunt her, we get the real story behind her running and Kane finally gives in to his feelings for her. If he can keep her alive, will he finally realize these feelings are the forever kind? Not much movement happened on the over-arcing reason the Ghost Ops guys are in this small town, but as another member falls to love, and Daphne is read in on the op, are they moving closer to their target? I received an ARC of this book but am voluntarily leaving this review.
