As a therapist, I really appreciated that this book taught the somatic therapy exercises in a similar order to how I would teach them in an office. For a person who is very motivated to positively impact their nervous system, following the exercises in this book, engaging in the self reflection, building an effective daily practice by engaging in the reflection, as well as rescue practices, and then engaging in the biofeedback exercises would truly be life changing. I think this book would be especially helpful when used in conjunction with counseling for 1) accountability and 2) trauma reprocessing (getting to the root under the problem), or at the very least being read with an accountability buddy to engage in the practices daily; it is truly with that level of engagement that I have seen people able to rewire their nervous system.
