Struggled a bit with the story but this author sure knows how to write smut. And I love the trope "girlfriends dad" - so no complains there. Rating it 3 ⭐⭐⭐

A fun, spicy read for a Friday night.
Emory, a young bisexual college guy, gets tricked by Natalie (his soon to be ex-girlfriend) into spending the weekend with her estranged father, Jackson, at his cabin.
You will probably like this book if you enjoy books with:
- Lots of MM sex, plus a MMM scene 🧍♂️🧍♂️🧍♂️
- Light BDSM with spanking, ropes, and toys
- Age-gap erotica
- Dom-sub relationships
- A little bit of voyeurism
It definitely passes my test of "If they made this into a movie, would I want a role in it?". Umm, "Yes, please!", but only as Emory.

Fucking idiots (MMCs). There's not a single likeable thing in this book.
I'll try chronological order of the issues that pissed me off in this book but no promises.
So Emory is driving out to see Natalie (his girlfriend) and her father (Jackson) as they're going to spend the weekend together. Emory and Nat were dating for 1 month. But as he gets there, he discover she's not there. He discovers a text from Nat and she's homophobic so she dumped him.
- Why would you take your bf to meet your father when you haven't seen him since you were a baby?
- How did she discover he's bi a month into their relationship and suddenly decide that's not okay?
- Why is she homophobic?
Emory tells Jackson that he left her because:
“Because I don’t just like pussy, I like sucking cock as well.” (Page 9)
- Who tf talks to a stranger that?
- Especially your girlfriend's dad?!
Also stupid how Jackson then calls Nat to check if that's the real story. YOU'VE NEVER MET HER?! (Although somehow she's aware he's bi and he wants to be friends with her rather than father/daughter - yes real quotes)
The two men have nonstop sex for 2 days. But Sebastian walks in, doesn't even get a chance to open his mouth before Emory gets up from having sex, packs his bags, and leaves.
It skips to 3 weeks later and Jackson just coincidentally happens to be in the same nightclub the same night that Emory decides to start looking for a boyfriend. He eventually tells Emory that he was in contact with Luca (E's roommate).
- How? Why Luca?
You'll also discover that Luca has a massive thing for calling Jackson Daddy 24/7 and acting like his sub. I mean it feels like he's more dedicated than Emory is.
Moving on - They decide to go to a bdsm club together and these men are idiots. Emory doesn't tell Jackson that the only reason he wanted to go was to see what Sebastian (J's ex) is bragging about. And Jackson leaves Emory on his own in the club!
- You don't leave a sub on their own! Especially if it's their first time there!
- All because he wanted to chat with Greg for 5 seconds?
But it gets worse...
Sebastian drugs Emory and sends him with another dom after he blacks out. Of course Jackson walks in on him and doesn't say anything! He just runs for it and wakes up the next morning with a hangover!
- What an idiot!
- It's not even miscommunication! It's just straight up refusing to talk!
I'm so sorry these characters are "madly in love" when all they do is fuck! They don't even talk to each other! That's lust not love and I will die on that hill.
Oh and one more thing, "cum" is the fluid/liquid NOT THE ACTION. That would be "come".
Also please get someone to edit the spelling and punctuation mistakes because they're very frustrating when you're trying to read.

This book was not what I was expecting. In fact, I was so disappointed I almost gave it two stars. I bought this because I thought it was supposed to be very taboo. It’s not. I didn’t even think it was very hard core BDSM. It was more daddy kink. I thought it was well written even if there were places it could have used a better editor.

it was working up until the plot line with the crazy ex—or more like that would have been fine except for the completely unnecessary attempted SA. like yeah we only saw youngerMC “kissing” someone else, and sure it didn’t go any further because the bouncer saw the guy try to take him to a different room, but we already knew at that point that youngerMC was completely unconscious. it was horrible reading it from olderMC’s POV because we knew what was going on and also because he was such an absolute dumbass that he assumed he was being betrayed as his first and only thought. it was such a tonal shift and for no reason. it’s not like this book was trying to say anything about the dangers in club culture, or how SA is treated differently with a male victim, or how to deal with the aftermath of SA/attempted SA. the later scene where olderMC tries to show youngerMC that the club isn’t all bad and that they can make new good memories there is basically all the emotional healing youngerMC gets.
also I’m pretty sure olderMC didn’t admit that he almost let his crazy ex give him a blowjob the same night/next morning. if he did, it was super quick and brushed over. apparently way more important to get to the random fight scene at the end??? where youngerMC gets attacked and injured again, even though he just got assaulted and drugged in the middle part???? this was just supposed to be a spicy book, and I’m all for emotional arcs and unexpected depth, but if you’re not going to do an SA plotline properly—ie, have the characters actually impacted/process realistically, vs using SA as a plot device to show that the person who did this/orchestrated this is soooo evil—then don’t do it at all. the spicy scenes in the rest of the book after that just weren’t enjoyable/fun because it felt like waiting for another out of nowhere attack and honestly as a woman I’m already living my irl life in hypervigilance I don’t need that shit from the books I’m trying to sue for escapism.
other major issue is that there needs to be an editor. like okay fine I’m “picky” about semicolons and commas being used properly, and the *constant* period-comma (.,) combo drove me nuts, and Randomly Capitalizing words after an em dash is a nonsense choice….but there’s so many places where open/end quotation marks are missing, or words are swapped to where the sentences are barely coherent, or character names randomly wrong (“Jackson” > “Jackoson”), or the verb tenses changed and/or were doubled up (“did were”, “he felt could feel”, “hiss mouth”, “the an”). the author is definitely able to write because there’s a decent percentage of sentences that don’t have errors and work on narrative and emotional levels, but wooooow do they need reread it all very carefully before putting it out into the world (and hire beta readers!).

She kicked Emory to the curb when he admitted to her that he was bi, but that turned out to be the best thing that happened to Emory when he stayed the night at the cabin and discovered Jackson (Nat's dad) was gay. And he was a hunky.
This story is filled with high emotion and many learning experiences for Emory. You can feel the warmth develop between Emory and Jackson. Although there are a number of fairly minor typographical errors throughout, don't let them distract you from the otherwise genuine quality of the writing.
For me this was a story that kept my interest right from the beginning with thoughtful insights into the daddy Dom lifestyle, presented with realism and great characters.

This was fine, I liked it well enough. The typos/ mistakes were really annoying tho and got me out of the book, sometimes a word was missing or there were two words that would fit in the sentence almost like one of them still had to be deleted in another editing session, but just wasnt before the book got published. I bought this book on Amazon btw, its not like I got a copy for free or something, I actually paid € 5,10 for this, had it been cheaper I wouldnt have minded it as much, but € 5,- is quite a bit for an ebook in my mind, especially one that just reads unfinished.

It tends to be kind of hard to find excellent erotica. This is good, but the “plot” (because there was barely any) was annoying. The delusional-psycho ex trope? Eye roll inducing.
I started this book for the smut, so I definitely can't complain since it was steamy. I didn't like Jackson either, but like I said, I didn't read this story for his bubbly personality. 🤷♀️

3.5 stars rounded up because this checks a lot of boxes for me. The romance serves the erotica and not the other way around, but I do like the relationship, and there are some exciting dramatic events in between the sex scenes. Reading this felt self indulgent in the best way. Good stuff!

The smut is unapologetically filthy, and I do enjoy a variety of kink dynamics. That said, the plot itself is rather stupid, and the constant emphasis on the “older man” aspect becomes increasingly irritating. I get it! You don’t have to keep reminding me.

Okay so this one has plot holes the size of the Grand Canyon and usually that pisses me off but in case you are in the mood for a lot of smut and you are willing to ignore said plot holes it’s a quick smutty read. Needs a good editing so be prepared for spelling mistakes and such.

3.5⭐️ JLN knows how to write erotica. Needed some editing though. I know this was short on plot but I wish we had a better conclusion with Sebastian! But overall this was fun and hot!

This one's delicious but also surprisingly sweet, and the chemistry is sizzling. But then I have a thing for age-gap so that's maybe understandable.
The plot to hold all the smut together is okay. It's honestly not the main reason to read this story, but it offers a balance of sorts in order to prevent the book from becoming back-to-back p*rn.
Overall, a very satisfying read. Highly recommend!

Good storyline, a little broken up here and there with some weird typos. An abrupt ending. Nevertheless, overall, this is a good, spicy D/s read with Emory and Jackson. This is the 3rd book by Jay L North that I’ve read and I like the style, loving the spice, eating up the stories.

Bravo!!! I read these when they first came out as three novellas. They suffered from a fairly severe lack of editing. But I saw the potential in the story, and Jay L North's revamp has been excellently done! Jay spent time cleaning up the editing, making it so much easier to read. But Jay ALSO added to the story, clearing up any confusion, smoothing out the continuity, and in general making this a better, stronger version of the potential it had. No longer! It is now a great read! Love the story! And the smut. Whew. Needed my handfan through this read!
