Emory was supposed to spend the weekend with his girlfriend and her dad. But then she ditched him and now he's alone, in a cabin in the woods, with a way too sexy, older man. Is it wrong of him to check out his girlfriend's dad? This is the story of Emory, his sexual awakening, and his exploration of submission together with an older, dominant man. Make no mistake, this is pure erotica with a small side of romance and a happily ever after.
Content warnings Explicit descriptions of sexual encounters between two men, a dominant silver fox, bondage, light impact play, c*ck-warming, size difference, somnophilia, an eager-to-please college student, c*m-play, and sharing.
This work was initially published as a three-part serial, The Awakening of Emory. The content has been edited and added to in order to bring more cohesiveness to the story, but the main storyline and plot remain the same.
Jay's an introvert and a weirdo who has always preferred the company of books over people. Pair that with a dirty mind and a brain that won't quit making up stories and you have Jay L. North.
Jay has always been a voracious reader, which is probably how most writers start out. In Jay's case, they began writing their own stories at a young age. When they couldn't find a book that suited their fancy they simply wrote it themselves - with varying results. Then they grew up, got a proper job, and almost forgot about their joy of writing. Only when they hit a wall after years and years of stress and an unhealthy work environment did they reassess their priorities and take up writing once again. And with a truck full of mental health issues, their stories are meant as pure escapism. They write spice and steam, and they choose to leave the profound and angst-y to others.
They live in the far north of the world where the winters are harsh and the forests are deep. They live in an old castle with their family which, apart from a few humans, also includes three Golden Retrievers and a small fire dragon. They spend their days happily reading (or writing) by the fire or walking in the woods.

Struggled a bit with the story but this author sure knows how to write smut. And I love the trope "girlfriends dad" - so no complains there. Rating it 3 ⭐⭐⭐
Emory, a young bisexual college guy, gets tricked by Natalie (his soon to be ex-girlfriend) into spending the weekend with her estranged father, Jackson, at his cabin.
You will probably like this book if you enjoy books with: - Lots of MM sex, plus a MMM scene 🧍♂️🧍♂️🧍♂️ - Light BDSM with spanking, ropes, and toys - Age-gap erotica - Dom-sub relationships - A little bit of voyeurism
It definitely passes my test of "If they made this into a movie, would I want a role in it?". Umm, "Yes, please!", but only as Emory.
This book was not what I was expecting. In fact, I was so disappointed I almost gave it two stars. I bought this because I thought it was supposed to be very taboo. It’s not. I didn’t even think it was very hard core BDSM. It was more daddy kink. I thought it was well written even if there were places it could have used a better editor.
Emory was invited to a weekend at his girlfriend's father's cabin to introduce him to her dad. It didn't quite go as planned. She kicked Emory to the curb when he admitted to her that he was bi, but that turned out to be the best thing that happened to Emory when he stayed the night at the cabin and discovered Jackson (Nat's dad) was gay. And he was a hunky.
This story is filled with high emotion and many learning experiences for Emory. You can feel the warmth develop between Emory and Jackson. Although there are a number of fairly minor typographical errors throughout, don't let them distract you from the otherwise genuine quality of the writing.
For me this was a story that kept my interest right from the beginning with thoughtful insights into the daddy Dom lifestyle, presented with realism and great characters.
This was fine, I liked it well enough. The typos/ mistakes were really annoying tho and got me out of the book, sometimes a word was missing or there were two words that would fit in the sentence almost like one of them still had to be deleted in another editing session, but just wasnt before the book got published. I bought this book on Amazon btw, its not like I got a copy for free or something, I actually paid € 5,10 for this, had it been cheaper I wouldnt have minded it as much, but € 5,- is quite a bit for an ebook in my mind, especially one that just reads unfinished.
I do happen to like Jays Love and incest series (Uncle 1 and 2)
It tends to be kind of hard to find excellent erotica. This is good, but the “plot” (because there was barely any) was annoying. The delusional-psycho ex trope? Eye roll inducing.
I started this book for the smut, so I definitely can't complain since it was steamy. I didn't like Jackson either, but like I said, I didn't read this story for his bubbly personality. 🤷♀️
2.5 I don't know what is it with Jay's words in sex scenes, but they always pull the right strings for me. As a story it was ok, somehow similar to Dub-Con Daddies series but mild. Nothing can top Kent for me in DCD. Nothing.
3.5 stars rounded up because this checks a lot of boxes for me. The romance serves the erotica and not the other way around, but I do like the relationship, and there are some exciting dramatic events in between the sex scenes. Reading this felt self indulgent in the best way. Good stuff!
started this for the smut and that was great, there wasn´t a lot of plot but the author said so in the beginning so no complains from me. would I re-read? no, just a one timer but again there was good smut...
The smut is unapologetically filthy, and I do enjoy a variety of kink dynamics. That said, the plot itself is rather stupid, and the constant emphasis on the “older man” aspect becomes increasingly irritating. I get it! You don’t have to keep reminding me.
His worst book I am a big fan of his works, but I have to say that this one has felt slow and at times boring. I prefer when he takes a little darker roads in his books.
3.5⭐️ JLN knows how to write erotica. Needed some editing though. I know this was short on plot but I wish we had a better conclusion with Sebastian! But overall this was fun and hot!
Yes! I freaking love North's smutty books! This one's delicious but also surprisingly sweet, and the chemistry is sizzling. But then I have a thing for age-gap so that's maybe understandable. The plot to hold all the smut together is okay. It's honestly not the main reason to read this story, but it offers a balance of sorts in order to prevent the book from becoming back-to-back p*rn. Overall, a very satisfying read. Highly recommend!
Bravo!!! I read these when they first came out as three novellas. They suffered from a fairly severe lack of editing. But I saw the potential in the story, and Jay L North's revamp has been excellently done! Jay spent time cleaning up the editing, making it so much easier to read. But Jay ALSO added to the story, clearing up any confusion, smoothing out the continuity, and in general making this a better, stronger version of the potential it had. No longer! It is now a great read! Love the story! And the smut. Whew. Needed my handfan through this read!
