Layla Hagen has done it again! I absolutely LOVED Taming the CEO! I loved every moment on every page of Taming the CEO, the sixth book in her The Whitley Brothers series, it filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, and it was impossible to put it down. Layla Hagen definitely did not disappoint her readers with Taming the CEO and has once again delivered an incredible story filled with everything that I love in love stories. I love how Layla Hagen continues to write the love stories that I love to read. Taming the CEO is an enemies to lovers love story between Maddox Whitley, in charge of Whitley Office Spaces and Cami Hughes, the co-owner of Essex Adventures. Maddox and Gabe have decided to join one another in a new project in Essex on the property they purchased instead of their father. Gabe and Maddox agree to go into a joint project and are building a new distillery and hotel on the land and are looking to purchase the adjacent property that is currently Essex Adventures. Cami’s father Samuel is interested in selling the property, but Cami is concerned about their plans for the property. Cami and Maddox go to dinner together to discuss their plans for the property, and things do not go as planned and they both leave early. I love that Maddox’s grandmother; Jeanie wants to meet Cami after learning about their disagreement at dinner. I love how the meeting between Cami and Jeanie goes, and how that leads to her lending one of her mother’s cookbooks to Jeanie. Conversation between Cami and Maddox flows so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and Maddox constantly flirting with Cami. After seeing the plans for the property, I love that Cami explains to Maddox the reason that she is apprehensive about signing the sales agreement. The adventure park and the property are filled with memories of her late mother. Maddox decides to have the architects alter the plans so that the hotel’s gardens include the trees from her forest. Once Cami learns that her father wants to retire, which is the reason he wants to sell to the Whitleys, she agrees to the sale with the new plans. Maddox visits the property weekly, on one of his visits he learns about a storm that is heading toward Essex. Maddox heads to Cami’s to make sure she is all right. He learns that she injured her hands and as he takes care of her hand the storm hits, and he is stranded at Cami’s house with her. Things heat up quickly between Cami and Maddox when they are stranded during the storm. I love the secrets that Cami shares about her upbringing, her mother’s death and how Maddox shares the secrets about his father and half-brothers. I love all the changes Maddox makes as he spends time with Cami. I love how Maddox gets all the Whitleys together to be part of Cami’s tour of Boston hosted by Diane. I love the plans that Cami has for her future. I love Cami and Maddox’s love story, and how plot twists changes things between them and brings them together instead of apart. I love that Maddox and Cami admit their true feelings for one another and the changes that each of them makes to have a life together and how what they wanted out of life changes. Who does not love hot sexy men, who make you swoon, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another, and wonderful characters? Layla Hagen always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. One of my favorite parts of her books is how she incorporates the picture on the cover of the book into the love story. I am not sure how she does it, but Layla Hagen has once again given her readers another amazing book. She has once again proven that she is an amazing storyteller and continues to be one of my favorite authors. I really enjoy how she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. Taming the CEO is filled with all those elements that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Layla Hagen creates such wonderful and memorable characters and has once again done this in Taming the CEO. I love Cami and Maddox’s love story and the descriptions of the Essex setting. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Taming the CEO, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Whitley brothers, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. My favorite characters are Grandmother and Grandfather, Jeannie, and Abe Whitley. I loved the bittersweet and poignant moments, as well as the unexpected plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story. Taming the CEO was a wonderful love story. I love that the ending of Cami and Maddox’s love story was more than a happily ever after. My favorite part of the story is Maddox’s proposal to Cami, the location of his proposal and how he pulled it off. I love the special gift that Samuel gave to Maddox to give to Cami. I also love the ending hints at the identity of the next Whitley sibling. I loved catching up with the Whitley siblings and cannot wait to read more books about the other Whitley brothers. Highly recommend this incredible love story. I received an advanced copy from the author.
This book is a prime example of why the contemporary romance genre is the highest selling book genre in America, while at the same time its authors will never be considered for a Pulitzer Prize or held in the same critical high esteem as the Hemmingways, Harper Lees or J.D. Salingers of the literary world. Like every contemporary romance and Hallmark movie which follows along the lines of one or more of the many predetermined tropes of the genre, not only is the H.E.A. ending in this story predictable, but so much of the plot getting there often is too. But as Paul McCartney, perhaps the most prolific and beloved singer/songwriter of my generation sang in his hit song, Silly Little Love Songs (in response to criticism of his music as a solo artist from his former Beatles bandmate and co-composer the late John Lennon) “You’d think the world would have had enough of silly love songs. I look around me and I see it isn’t so. Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs. What’s wrong with that I’d like to know?” Substitute the words love songs for love stories in the lyrics and you have your explanation as to why contemporary romances like Hallmark movies are so damn popular. So here is Layla Hagen’s latest offering in her Whitley Brothers series, Taming the C.E.O. It’s an enemies to lovers trope with the prerequisite amount of romance, sex, drama and happy big family feels leading to Maddox, another confirmed bachelor Whitley sibling falling in love with Cami, the co-owner of an adventure park adjacent to the hotel and brewery he and his brother Gabe are building in the town of Essex, forty minutes north of Boston. They want to purchase the adventure park so they can tear it down for reasons that were never made clear. In fact, they both acknowledge that they don’t need the property to build the hotel and brewery. But Cami who spent most of her childhood with her parents working at the park and helping her dad run it after her mother’s death, is very much opposed to selling it at any price because of her emotional attachment to it. It’s not a bad read by any means. But as someone who has previously read many series by this author, it sort of felt to me like she was mailing this one in. Like it was just another paint by numbers story where she just stayed inside the lines she’s already established in writing her other books. Maddox Whitley is your typical Hagen male protagonist. He comes from a large wealthy family of all male siblings. Like himself they are of course all book boyfriend worthy, handsome and sexy, and highly successful. They are all fiercely loyal to one another and their beloved grandparents. They also began this series all being committed bachelors until Janice their 92 year old and still spry grandmother starts playing cupid to get all of her grandsons happily settled and giving her grandbabies before she dies. And while they have good hearts, they’re also a bit full of themselves to the point of being annoyingly arrogant at times. Maddox Whitley who fancies himself a hard-nosed negotiator/deal closer offers to step in for his brother Gabe to get Cami and her father to agree to sell their property to them. Again, why they want this property so desperately is never clear? Maddox not only gets off on the wrong foot with Cami, he puts it in his mouth because he doesn’t take the time to understand the reasons behind Cami’s refusal to get behind the sale of the property. Cami is a young woman I suspect most of generations X,Y, and Z can relate to. She has a B.A. from prestigious N.Y.U. in teaching and is fluent in multiple foreign languages. Her plan was to travel abroad for a few years after graduation and teach. But when her mother died in her senior year of college (cause of death not revealed) she instead returned home after graduation to Essex, to help her devastated father run the Adventure Park he and her mother had co-owned and operated. If it is to be believed contemporary romance truly reflects real life, Cami (like Maddox) shares the same sexual mores of recent generations. That its okay to have sex just for fun without the need for any deep emotional commitment or long term plans with the person you’re having fun with. Not that Cami can be considered a slut, but now in her late twenties she’s no virgin saving herself for marriage either. So when Maddox disproves Cami’s first (and second) impressions of him that he’s an arrogant asshole are wrong and he’s really a good guy because he loves his grandmother, they’re both happy to explore their sexual chemistry and enter into a very hot sexual relationship that neither sees going anywhere beyond a temporary good time. And while contemporary romances hardly claim to be morality tales, we know that it is always the case that what begins as “just having a good time or just sex’ or even a “friends with benefits” relationship, between the two protagonists, will result with physical intimacy growing into emotional intimacy and eventually love. Taming the C.E.O. isn’t a brilliant story, there’s nothing particularly original about it. But it also isn’t a bad one either. We get our happy big family feels, our romance, our steamy sex and most importantly our happily ever after. It’s just unexceptional.
This is the newest addition to the Whitley brothers series and is the story of Maddox and Cami. I’m not usually a lover of the enemies to lovers trope which this one starts out to be but in this case I thought it was well done. Plus, Maddox is such a pompous jerk that turns into a flailing buffoon because he quickly realizes Cami isn’t falling for his brand of charm and rather than double down or change his strategy, he makes things worse by flailing around! In his attempt to fix what he knows he is doing wrong, he continues to make things worse and can’t seem to help himself! Thank goodness for Grandma Jeannie! She comes to the rescue and bails him out by showing Cami that he is indeed a great guy who can’t seem to stop himself from behaving like an idiot around Cami. I’ve missed Jeannie – some of the other brothers haven’t really needed her too much recently. Maddox does!
Cami is great! She is strong, independent and fierce. I love that she isn’t a pushover for Maddox and that she also doesn’t spill her story right away before she knows that he deserves to hear it. These two are way more alike than either one realizes and once they begin to see each other for the good person that they are underneath, their relationship blossoms. They have serious chemistry that is intensified by their strong friendship.
I also love Cami’s relationship with her dad and I love that Maddox sees that her dad is a great guy and that all dads aren’t like his. As the story progresses you can see that Maddox realizes that Sam could be a role model of what a good father looks like and what a good husband could be. I love that Maddox is still trying to protect his brothers from their father and his BS.
I also really like that we get to continue to see both sets of brothers become closer. It bothers me that Maddox and his blood brothers are still not 100 percent embraced by the other Whitley guys. I wish Jake and Colton would soften up more quickly but the slow progression is probably most like real life. I love that the family is close and choosing to behave as ‘one’ rather than separately like the first few books in the series.
I have truly loved this series and these crazy brothers and their matchmaking granny! Jeannie is so cute and steadfast in her belief that her boys need love in their lives. She has been so fun and I’ve loved watching her and watching how the boys feel about her. Their love and respect for both Jeannie and Abe is just unmatched. In the previous story, I loved watching Maddox’s mom take Gabe kinda under her motherly wing, sensing he needed some mom love. I hope we get to see a bit more of her in Leo and Nash’s stories. All these guys could use some additional love from a parental figure and she seemed like she didn’t mind sharing.
Maddox’s story isn’t to be missed. I enjoyed everything about it. I read it in one sitting and smiled the whole way through. Maddox’s awkward attempts to push Cami into doing what he wanted, to watching their friendship blossom, to watching Maddox fall hard was so fun! I can’t wait for more Whitleys and getting more updates on the previous couples!
I was so happy that this one came out in between reading the O’keely Pub series because I was seriously starting to get bored with the books. They weren’t as exciting as I imagined this one would be and it didn’t disappoint. It was so nice to read a book that had that sensuality, intensity and sexy mood that the others were lacking in the other series. Maddox was definitely the heartthrob in this book. He knew how to make you swoon, how to lose yourself in his demeanor and how to make you feel seen and desired. He showed that to Cami once they got past their enemies aspect and put their differences aside. However, not without giving the other a hard time, mainly on Cami’s part. It was a very unexpected pairing, especially with the circumstances it was under. Both of them were attracted to the other but didn’t give into it until both knew it definitely and acted on it. Maddox made the first move, because, of course he did. You did see him approach her cautiously though because after a bad first impression he was walking on pins and needles around her and didn’t want to seem too needy or pushy. He lost his confidence around her and if that’s not adorable, I don’t know what is. Bit by bit you see both Cami and Maddox’s control wavering and desire coming to the forefront. I loved the way that was approached, and it kept the story going. A heated stare there, light touching, sweet words said until they couldn’t handle it anymore and gave in. Both opened up to each other easily and with no hesitation. I loved seeing the sweet, caring side of Maddox, and Cami’s openness once she realized she can trust him and falls for him more and more as the story goes on. The lightness that radiates off Maddox when he is truly himself, happy and not having his guard up. I really enjoyed this book, it was so sweet and sensual and I look forward to Leo’s story next. This has been a really enjoyable series and I’m sad to see that there’s only two books left after this one.
Taming The CEO Whitley Brothers #6 Layla Hagen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Naw, Maddox Whitley might just be my new favourite Whitley! This man is character personified, all tough and forceful businessman but so soft and squishy as a partner. The ultimate husband material, it’s just a shame that Cami wasn’t as fond of him as me the reader. When cami Hughes meets Maddox, she is less then impressed with his, I’ll steamroll your business and pay not a cent more, but while her mind dislikes him immensely her body is a complete traitor. As part owner of Essex Adventures with her dad, Samuel it is her last connection to her mum she’s lost a few tears earlier, her dad wants to sell but Cami is less then interested wanting to keep the struggling business going. But with a Whitley motel going in next door, keeping face isn’t easy. Maddox is convinced he’ll win over Cami, ((enter Jeannie Whitley)), the grandmother hell bent on marrying off her grandsons, she’s got a 100% strike rate and Maddox is next in her list. Putting her plan in motion she sees Cami and makes friends instantly through the love of food and baking, of course this comes with a package that is Maddox Whitley! In an almost comical line, Cami and Maddox find themselves hunkered away together after a severe storm passes Essex. The line of hate disappears, and a new line of chemistry arrives, Cami discovers Maddox might seem all business, but the man has some serious skills in the bedroom. Finding a new happiness, Maddox and Cami become a force of nature. The man falls under her spell and quickly changes the plans for the adventure park, keeping the tress most precious to Cami in the hope of not only getting the sale but getting the girl. Their coupling isn’t an easy run but their forever is perfection. You definitely need to devour this book!
Taming the CEO is a captivating enemies-to-lovers romance that delves into the intense and passionate relationship between Maddox Whitley and the protagonist. The story begins with a strong sense of animosity between the two, as Maddox is determined to buy the protagonist's family business using questionable tactics. However, as they engage in a battle of wits, their mutual attraction becomes increasingly difficult to ignore.
The author masterfully crafts a narrative that seamlessly blends tension, humor, and romance. The characters are well-developed, with Maddox's arrogance and the protagonist's determination making for a compelling contrast. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and their interactions are filled with a palpable sense of attraction and tension.
One of the standout aspects of the book is the way it explores the complexities of the characters. Maddox, in particular, undergoes a significant transformation as the story progresses, revealing a more vulnerable side that adds depth to his character. The supporting cast is also well-written, with the Whitley family providing a warm and loving backdrop to the central romance.
The writing is engaging and easy to follow, making it a quick and enjoyable read. The pacing is well-balanced, with a mix of intense confrontations, romantic moments, and introspective scenes that keep the reader invested in the story.
While the book is well-written and engaging, there are a few areas where it falls short. At times, the protagonist's reactions to Maddox's behavior feel overly dramatic, and some of the supporting characters could benefit from more development.
Overall, Taming the CEO is a delightful addition to the Whitley Brothers series. With its captivating characters, engaging plot, and steamy romance, it is sure to please fans of contemporary romance.
Give me all the enemies to lovers with a grumpy/sunshine sprinkled in. “Taming the CEO” is a flirty, steamy and romantic addition to the Whitley Brothers series.
Maddox Whitley is part of the Whitley company and is determined to make sure it succeeds no matter what. The latest property he wants comes with a woman who’s determined not to sell due to the family history. Cami Hughes has been running her family’s business with her Dad for years and is concerned about selling the land and what will be built in its spot. When Cami and Maddox first meet to discuss everything, the meeting doesn’t go the way either was expecting. Tensions are high and when a blizzard comes through, the two are forced to hunker down together in Cami’s house. But as the night goes on, there’s a clear attraction between them both.
I loved the instant chemistry and tension that Cami and Maddox had from the beginning. Both are strong willed and want the best for their families. Maddox is smart, a fierce businessman and has a huge heart for his family. I love how he’s no nonsense when it comes to business and wants the Whitley name to grow and thrive. Cami is incredibly sweet, smart and I loved how she wasn’t willing to settle for anything less than amazing for her family’s property. The two were equals on how they feel for their family and I think that is what bonded them from the beginning which led to the chemistry they had. They fought their feelings but forced proximity will always win. I loved when they finally gave into each other, the steamy scenes were delicious. But they connected on an emotional level that was so romantic. I enjoyed Cami and Maddox’s story and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
OMG so far I've loved all the Whitley Brothers. They are falling like dominoes and I love it. Maddox is not escaping his fate. When Gage was having issues trying to secure an Adventure Park for the land from Cami and her Dad good ole Maddox stepped in and said he'll handle it and close the deal. Yeah that didn't happen. While Maddox was waiting for Cami he was talking to the bartender and mentioned he could never live in a small town it was too boring. Guess who heard that. So when they sat down to order dinner they started talking business and Cami shut him down and off. He was cocky and confident and she threw everything he said to the bartender back into his face. When she went to cross her legs again she happened to touch Maddox's leg and it was like OMG what the hell just happened. That put her guard up and when he started flirting and trying to charm her she literally got up and left him sitting there. On the way out she said she's telling her Dad they are not selling.
Poor Maddox had to go back to Boston with his tail between his legs and tell ALL his brothers he failed. He set up another meeting with Cami and her Dad (but he had to bow out because he had a migrane) but this time Jeannie (Gran) wanted to come and see the park. Every one of his brothers and their significant others tried to warn him don't bring her. She was on a Matchmaker mission. LOL God I love Jeannie. As you can guess the rest is history. I loved Maddox's book truly. But I've loved all of them. Unfortunately we have to wait until October to get Leo's book. Who is Tory????? I guess we'll have to wait and see. YOU NEED TO READ THIS SERIES.
🔥forced proximity 🔥enemies to lovers 🔥only one bed 🔥so.much.steam 🔥he falls first 🔥protective H
Layla Hagen has done it again! Five brilliant stars for Taming the CEO! Maddox and Cami were such a fun couple to see get together. Complete opposites in some ways…small town girl/big city boy, small family/huge family but so alike in others, running a family business and both so motivated so do well in those businesses. I really felt they made a perfect team.
Maddox is trying to convince Cami to sell the family business that she runs with her father. He needs the space for his new business venture, a hotel and brewery run by he and one of brothers. Cami is completely and totally against selling though and let’s just say, this dynamic makes for a memorable meeting between the two of them at a restaurant in town in the beginning of the book. Of course if you’ve read any of the other books in this series(read them! They’re fantastic!) you remember that Maddox’s Grandmother wants to see all her grandsons settled down and is more than willing to step in to help her boys find the perfect woman for them. Maddox is no different. Gran gets involved and things get even more interesting.
I enjoyed every second of this book and am already anxiously waiting for the next one in the series. Although this book is best enjoyed by when read in order with the series, you can read it as a stand alone.
Thank you to Layla Hagen and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for the ARC of this book!
Those Whitley brothers just keep getting hotter and hotter, bringing a sizzling heat to the word swoon! The latest instalment, Book 6 of The Whitley Brothers series, "Taming the CEO," introduces us to Maddox Whitley, who is about to meet his match in Cami.
Layla Hagen crafts another engaging and steamy romance, ensuring readers get their fill of passion and tension. Maddox, the dashing CEO, sets his sights on acquiring Cami's family business. However, he quickly discovers that behind her sunshine exterior lies a fierce and determined woman who won’t give up without a fight. Their chemistry is undeniable, creating a deliciously intense dynamic that keeps the pages turning.
Cami’s sweetness and strength make her a formidable opponent for Maddox. Hagen masterfully balances the romantic tension with moments of vulnerability and tenderness, making their journey towards a guaranteed wonderful HEA (Happily Ever After) both captivating and satisfying.
"Taming the CEO" is a testament to Layla Hagen's talent for writing romances that are both steamy and heartfelt. I loved this story. It was a great feel-good book, and it had very little drama, which I absolutely love about this authors writing and this series. It's just feel good vibes all the way. Even though this was an enemies to lovers story. It was a little tame, but I feel it was just the right amount of angst for this story.
Maddox and Cami get off to a bad start. One that could have been avoided, but I'd have reacted the same had I been Cami. But as the story progressed, it became more than apparent that the pair of them were totally attracted to one another. Their chemistry and banter with everyone, especially Maddox and brothers, was great, and I just loved the way Maddox was so protective of everyone, especially his grandparents and Cami.
The whole story is best read and experienced, so I'll say no more. This book and series is a huge recommend from me.
The Whitley Brothers are back, and this time Maddox takes centre stage.
In a story that tantalises and ignites. As Maddox and Gabe are planning to open a hotel and distillery in the small town of Essex. Only they want to buy some additional land. But the owners of the adventure park they have their eye on are holding out.
But Maddox believes he can charm anyone and easily get them to agree to sell. Only he doesn't count on the gorgeous, sexy, sassy and stubborn Cami. Who's first impression of Maddox isn't great, and it gets worse when he tries to flirt with her.
So Maddox's Gran Jeannie. Who has been known to match make for her grandsons gets involved in the hope she can learn more about why Cami is reluctant to sell. And although she makes a great impression, Maddox again makes everything worse.
However, Maddox soon learns why the adventure park and its forest is so important to Cami and he realises they aren't all that different after all, and when the pair end up stranded in Cami's cabin everything changes, and the sparks and clothes fly.
And with no third act break up, great characters, family feels, plenty of heat and sweetness. This was a really enjoyable read. That I absolutely devoured in just a few hours.
My thanks to Wildfire Marketing and Layla Hagen for the opportunity to read an early copy of Taming The CEO. 😊
I absolutely love this family. I so enjoyed reading Maddox and Cami's story. The Whitley boys are falling one at a time to Gran's matchmaking skills. Maddox and Gabe are building a distillery and a hotel in Essex, but they need the adventure park land next door. Cami and her father own the land together. Cami inherited her part when her mother passed away. They have a beautiful forest that Cami and her mother used to play fairy's in when she was little, so the land holds great sentimental value to her. Maddox and Gabe are planning on cutting down the forest and Gabe needs a little extra help to convince them to sell. Maddox thinks he's got what it takes to convince them to sell. Instead of meeting with both of them, Cami is the only one who shows up, and boy do they get off on the wrong foot. Tension is high, until Gran decides to go and take a look at the property. Cami figures a man who looks after his grandmother can't be all that bad. Maddox is drawn to Cami with a force that even he can't explain. This is another delightful read from Layla Hagen. I highly recommend reading this book and the entire series. You will not be disappointed. Great Job, Layla Hagen! Needs more stars**********
Get ready readers for Maddox to meet his match. He is always sure of himself. When it comes to business he never misses the mark and is used to being able to achieve whatever he sets out to do, and right now that is buying some property. When his brother can’t close the deal he offers to step in, thinking he can make it happen without a problem. What follows is a series of bumbling and fumbling until a slight twist, somewhat assisted by good old Grandma Jeanie! As honesty comes to the surface and Maddox and Cami see a new side of each other (circumstances helping that along the way) these two begin to realize not only is there a spark between them, but they aren’t as different as they thought. It isn’t smooth sailing all the way through of course, but there are so many moments that will pull readers in and cause them to fall in love with the strong and amazing woman that Cami is, as well as the softness that Maddox doesn’t let just anyone see, beneath the charismatic man he is used to always showing the world. Another great story in the Whitley Brothers series, where we also see a fantastic amount of the rest of this beloved family as well!

"Now I have to confess that I have not read every book in this series, and in saying that I can definitely confirm that this book does read as a stand-alone. Layla gives just enough information about all the characters that I felt like I could keep up and it didn’t detract from Maddox and Cami’s book at all. I love an enemies to lovers romance, and I think that this book is one of the best I have read recently. Even when Cami was butting heads with Maddox, their underlying attraction to one another shone through. I was both hurry up and get together one moment, but then also hoping that their story would just go on and on. Overall their romance was truly a wonderful read, grandmother Jeannie was a standout and honestly there was nothing not to love about this book." ~Sharon
Another great addition to the Whitley Brothers series. Maddox and Cami didn't hit it off on first meeting but all that tension was foreplay for their hearts to find a match. Cami is sweet and sassy and the perfect challenge to the work focus Maddox. Where everyone else failed, Cami was able to rame Maddox and win his heart.gey ready to be entertained and swooned throughout this story. ~Cindy
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book really reminded me of the book, Taming of the Shrew. Cami I could easily see as Kate and Maddox was the one that tames her. At least he thinks he can as the book begins and he tells his brothers he will charm her, so she agrees with selling her families land to them.
But Cami is no push over and I loved her strength and determination and love for her land and family. This is an enemy to lovers' story, and it was awesome. I could not put it down. Maddox and Cami have this awesome chemistry and I loved watching them start to each other's side. Cami is definitely a take charge woman, and she shows Maddox just who is boss! Haha his grandmother. Yes, she is back, and she was so much fun. I loved her field trip as Maddox takes her with him on a visit to Cami.
I really think this book is the best in the series and it's a book I will totally be re-reading because it was so much fun!
Another hit in this series by Layla, the Whitley brothers series is so good! You will fall in love with Maddox once he softens up, and Cami, well she's just so sweet, you'll love her! 5 Whitley brother stars for this one! Maddox is in town to secure the property he and his brothers want to develop so he's meeting with the owner and his daughter Cami. When he gets there, it's just Cami, and he stumbles over her beauty, but mistakes that she wants more money than what they're offering. He has no clue what the adventure park means to her. Leave it to the next visit where he brings his grandmother with him and she sums most of it up for him! When Cami and Maddox get stranded at her cabin during a snow storm, she see's a completely different side to him that makes her fall a bit for him, not to mention the sexy time they share there together. Maddox has realized there is more to Cami, and he's falling hard for her. These two are so cute together, a great power couple and you're going to love them! Grab this now!
Taming The CEO by Layla Hagen is another excellent read! Cami and Maddox are so fun. Maddox and his half-brother Gabe, are planning to work together. The property they need in addition to what they have already purchased belongs to Cami and her dad who own an adventure park next door. For personal reasons Cami is not interested and is completely turned off once she meets Maddox. Maddox can’t figure out how and why he turned Cami off to his charms. I have not read a book by Layla Hagen that I have not liked. Her characters are fun, smart, determined, and always support each other. The Whitley family is quite large with 8 siblings and one matchmaking grandma. Jeannie Whitley is sneaky but not too sneaky her grandsons have caught on to her ways. Taming the CEO is a great weekend or beach read. Love large family sagas with medling siblings and a matchmaking granny? Then you will enjoy the newest Whitley Brothers story, Taming the CEO by Layla Hagen!!
I’m loving The Whitley Brothers Series and I was excited to read Maddox Whitney’s story. I knew it was going to take a very special woman to tame this brother and Taming The CEO was everything I expected and so much more. I was captivated from the first word to the last line and I’m sure you will be too. Maddox is a man who is used to getting what he wants in business and his personal life until he meets Cami a woman who is part owner in the business he is trying to buy in Essex a small town an hour from Boston. From the moment they meet sparks fly and not in a good way but when a snowstorm has them stranded together lines are crossed. What follows is an entertaining, heartwarming read that I highly recommend. I fell hard and fast for Maddox and I adored Cami but what took this book to another level was the love and camaraderie this family share. A wonderful addition to the series that had me smiling, giggling and cheering this couple on.
Layla has done it again!! The Whitley Brothers series is one very very close to my heart, and with every story I read, I love them more. But I confess I love this story the most!
Maddox always was too serious and I loved seeing him fall head over heels with Cami, a strong heroine, exactly what he needed to be complete.
Their chemistry is off the charts, their connection natural, and with the help of grandma Jeannie, they will get their HEA.
I always get the most beautiful feeling whenever I read a book by Layla. I feel like I know all the characters, like I am part of their world, and that is a testimony of a wonderful writer.
I highly recommend this story, not only for the amazing characters, the brilliant flow of the book, the delicious chemistry ( it's a 10+ from me) and the family feeling, but also because it will make you smile long after you finish reading it!
This is one of the must read books of the summer 🌞
Cami has mainly taken over the outdoor adventure park with the help of her dad. This park is her family’s and after her mom passed she made sure to keep it up the dream. Finding out from her father that they received an offer for the land. She was instantly against it. When she met one of the family members of the business, she was instantly attracted. Until he started talking about the plans.
Maddox is cocky but very successful. Thinking his charm can win over Cami at the dinner business meeting, he was ready for Cami to sign. That wasn’t what happened. Cami walked out of the meeting when she found out his plans were to cut 90% of the trees.
Over time, Cami broke down to Maddox the reason why she doesn’t want to sell. Maddox had been so mentally in business mode but in the small town and the charm of Cami, his plan starts to shift from business to love/family.
Tropes: Small Town Enemies to Lovers Business Man/Small Town Girl Opposites attract Close family Meddling Grandmother

Taming the CEO is the 6th book in the Whitley Brothers series by Layla Hagen that is fun, entertaining forced proximity romance with a little hate to love mixed in and no 3rd act break up.
With this being the 6th book in an interconnected series I do generally like to have read the previous books in the series first. This was actually the only book in the series that I have personally read- and it just proves that it isn't fully necessary in order to enjoy this stand alone since the major points are kind of revisited so that things make sense I will admit that I did find myself a little lost in the working of the Whitley family drama and established romances because I hadn't read the previous books.
With that being said, Maddox and Cami are such a fun read! Maddox comes off as cocky and has no problem bulldozing people in business to get his way, that is until he meets Cami- the woman that doesn't fall to his charms or bend to his will and basically is everything he never knew he wanted or needed in his life. I loved Cami's feisty spirit, her loyalty and commitment to her family legacy and home but ultimately just her family itself. Without really knowing the Whitley family dynamics I kind of loved the giant blended family, their closeness and care for one another but their teasing and interest in each others lives was so sweet.
With the description of the book, I assumed that these two were going to be trapped in Cami's cottage for the majority of the story but it actually only ended up being a smallish blip in the story. Sure things take a *sexy* turn there but Cami was already softened toward Maddox at that point and so much more of the story takes place outside of that occurrence.
But overall a fun story, I loved their love and just how hard Maddox fell when he thought that he would be the forever bachelor. I may go back and read the other Whitley's- maybe with the build up to Maddox's story and seeing the other boys fall in love at the hands of their matchmaking grandmother I'll find that I enjoy these two even more!
Gabe and Maddox Whitley are trying to build a new hotel and need the property next door to do so. Said property is an amusement park that Samuel and his daughter, Cami, own. Samuel is ready to retire so he is very interested in the sale. Cami, however, has no intention of selling their family business as it has memories tied to her mom. Gabe tries to negotiate to no avail. In steps arrogant Maddox who is not used to being told no. Until Cami. They clash like oil and water, even though they are much alike. However, after being trapped in a snowstorm together, the ice begins to melt (get it?) Of course, this series would not be complete without Grandma Jeannie stepping in to sprinkle her love matching skills to help things along. I love this series and all of the Maddox Brothers. Love how this story unfolds.
Maddox and Cami’s story was amazing, it had all the amazing components Layla is known for, love, passion, laughter and a few tears here and there. Maddox for me is one of the most mysterious and protective brother out of all of them, and reading his reluctance to admit he went down the same road as all the other brothers was very satisfying to read. I love how at this point they already know what is going to happen and that there is no point in fighting it or their grandmother, Jeannie is getting better by each book and I really enjoyed it. Cami was such a good strong character and the perfect complement to Maddox I liked that it didn’t started as love at first sight and they both did their best to fight their attraction but who can resist a Whitely?.. beautiful work from Layla as always, can’t wait to find out what happens next.
Just like the rest of his brothers, Maddox too is a very confident man. In fact he's so confident that he's positive that he'll be able to convince Hughes to sell them the property that's bordering theirs so they could expand their ideas for the hotel and distillery. But he wasn't prepared for Cami to turn his world upside down.
Cami is very attached to her home and she wants to keep it the way it is. When she meets Maddox sparks fly and soon the connection is impossible to ignore. Spending time with him shows her that she pegged him all wrong. His love for his family makes her see just how special he is. Falling in love seems inevitable and HEA is just around the corner.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.
Maddox Whitley is an arrogant billionaire. Cami Hughes is a co-owner of Essex Adventures. Maddox and Gabe are building a new distillery and hotel and are looking to purchase property that is Essex Adventures. Cami’s father is looking to sell property but she is concerned about their plans for the property. They go on a dinner to discuss this but thimgs quickly gone south.
And so their delicious banter and flirting began. I loved the relationship between Maddox’s grandmother and Cami. The chemistry and passion between Maddox and Cami is very powerful and palpable. They were made for each other.
Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for an enemies to lovers, billionaire romance then you’re going to love it.
