Bdsm twlight may be the fantasy sub-genre I didn’t know I needed. If you like dark romance in your fantasy this book is such a good time.

This is a very dark, fantasy romance. Think Haunting Adeline but with Vampires 😍😍 who doesn’t love that combo??
Scarlett is our FMC and is the typical small town, early 20s girl who isn’t like normal humans in that she has a quick wit, smart mouth, and overcomes constant adversity especially at the hands of her sister (who we hate). Rune is our MMC, the vampire lord of the turned vampires (competing clan with the born vampire who are religious fanatics), Scarlets stalker, and my new book boyfriend.
When Scarlets sister is abducted by vampires, she moves from human territories to vampire territories to save her sister from sex/blood slavery from her vampire abductees. Little does she know that she moves into the territory Rune controls and coincidently goes to work for him.
Then, we see the start of the incredible dynamic between Rune fighting his obsession with Scarlet, his little flame, and Scarlets journey to independence and self love. There are plenty of bumps along the journey to include a monumental discovery by Scarlet about who she is.

DNF @ 68 pages
I don’t normally rate books I DNF (especially with so little pages as this) but I just found it so hard to carry on with the sub plot being what it is.

The blurb says the reason she is going to go to vampire city is to save her sister who got kidnapped. Great, no problems there.
Except when we start reading it’s shown repeatedly how her sister HATES her and is down right horrible to her. The FMC repeatedly gets SA’d and the sister says it’s her own fault and that she deserves it and treats her like scum of the earth every waking minute.
The FMC was going to leave her small town with her best friend but instead is going to go off and risk her life for her sister would absolutely leave her to die. Her bestie wants no part of it since they will both die trying to save her horrible sister when they were supposed to be traveling the world together. Then the FMC has the nerve to paint the bestie in a bad light for “leaving her” like the other people in her life did. Girl. If it was you that was taken, that bestie would have fought for you to the death. But fair he doesn’t want to die for your shitty sister.
I just can’t get into the plot even for the promise of a shadow daddy romance. It’s too enraging as a reader. Would have made more sense if it was her best friend that got kidnapped if we had to have that plot line.

I fucking hate the whole “you don’t know how much you love being a sub until I violently train you to be a sub because only I know what’s best for you” bullshit. ESPECIALLY when it’s layered on top of a SA victim fmc.
This whole book felt recycled. You know the story: enemies to lovers, lots of body betrayal, damsel in distress falls helplessly in love with the mmc, they admit their feelings, there’s a *~*shocking revelation*~*, mmc bails on her / breaks her heart, fmc gets kidnapped right as mmc decides he really did love her after all. Like tell me this isn’t the plot to 85% of romantasy out there right now. I’m tired, y’all.
This kinda felt like the author was just trying to tick all the boxes on the shadow daddy Dom bingo card. But it was crinnnnnge and ick. Rune gave Scarlett the nickname Little Flame when she was 6 YEARS OLD and he was stalking her, and yet still called her that when he was fucking her as an adult. All the ick. Vampires, Borns, Turned, Witches, Werewolves and of course, humans. But let’s be honest… Rune? A vampire lord, a ruler, a shadow daddy, posessive, dark obsession, do I really need to say more? He found her, he stalked her, he wont let her go. Scarlett his little flame.
And somehow, "The vampire lord of Aristelle, a cruel, merciless, infamous immortal with a kill list in the thousands, directed every ounce of his attention on me. And I had not a single clue why."
Meanwhile, Scarlett can feel Runs presence. “I was being watched… not just by the men of Aristelle. But by something stronger. Something that threatened to strip me down to everything I tried to hide.”
And Rune? He didn’t just want her. He wanted all of her. “I will ruin all others for you, Scarlett. Anything else will feel empty. Meaningless. I will be the only thing you see… the only one worthy of touching you, of knowing you.”
Unhinged? Yes. Possessive? Completely. And somehow… impossible to look away from. This book was such a rush. The tension, the obsession, the pull between them… and the audiobook? Absolutely perfect. If you can, do immersive reading I recommend it…..
And that ending?? Excuse muh, I’m immediately jumping into book two because this CANNOT end this way!! It cant!
And the found family? I loved that too. Snow especially loyal, fierce, exactly the friend Scarlett needed. I really hope we see more of her in the next book.

This one started out really promising, and then it just got boring. I needed way more action and fewer internal monologs. For a story that's centered around a coming war, there's minimal action, just a lot of words and talking about the possibilities. And I struggle to get through books whose foreshadowing is so translucent I can figure out exactly what the big reveal is going to be, and how it's going to happen long before I finish the book.

Ok this book was absolutely addictive!! Romantasy fans who want something DARK and SPICY gotta grab this new release 😈 this was EXACTLY my cup of tea 🔥

This fantasy romance features an obsessive & possessive shadow daddy and strong, seductress FMC. This was def a quick read and it’s perfect for fans of FBAA, but might have wanted it darker. If you’re a dark romance girlie, this is your book!

4.75 ⭐️ Rune and Scarlett are everything I want from a dark romantasy couple!! He’s a vampire lord who has been hiding in the shadows, drawn to watch over her since she was little. She’s a girl from a small town who is always being told she’s too much and feeling she’s not enough. She and her only friend have big dreams of traveling to bigger and better places. Her sister is part of the sea of people who make sure Scarlett’s light stays dimmed. One day, her sister gets abducted by a vampire group of human traffickers, who were actually after Scarlett for an unknown reason. Scarlett then travels to the dangerous vampire lands to find her sister. Her plan is to find and confront the vampire lord to demand he help her get her sister back. LITTLE DOES SHE KNOW HE WILL DO ANYTHING FOR HER! This story was fantastic!
Scarlett is so brave and sassy and it’s so easy to want her to finally have a win. Her character development gets very interesting, taking a turn I did not see coming. She develops the sweetest friendship with a witch named Snow that is like the sister relationship she always wanted to have with her own. Rune is DELICIOUS. He’s a character with so much dimension and mystery. Their spice is…well, definitely not vanilla! They both start to find themselves through each other, and the journey is so good!! Everything starts to click when we learn more about Scarlett, but then everything takes a turn for the worst. The plot was exciting and felt unique. Obviously, it’s not a literary work of art but it was so addicting!! The world was described in the perfect amount of detail, and I never felt bogged down with info dumping but everything made sense. I enjoyed every page of this book and excited to dive into book 2!

7 days…. SEVEN DAYS it took me to get through one of the worst books I have ever read. Seven days of my life I will never get back. I should have DNFed it after 100 pages but I didn’t so here we are. I had to suffer so now you get to suffer as well while you read my review.
I first picked up this book after seeing it recommended on IG multiple times. It was presented as a cross between Haunting Adeline (haven’t read yet) and vampires. Ok, cool… why not?
The beginning started out strong. I was hooked almost immediately but then not long after it just got incredibly boring. It was 500 pages of internal monologue and it was repetitive internal monologue at that. Halfway through the book I just started skimming and I literally missed nothing while skimming. It was the same internal dialogue repeated over and over again. I think the author was trying to create beautiful literature, and there were some lines that were highlight worthy, but the majority of it was just word vomit. Gosh, that was really mean to say but I’m sorry it is true. That’s honestly what it was.
Another huge headache that I got from this book was the author didn’t know if she was coming or going. In one sentence the MMC is taking complete advantage of her against her will (their first sexual encounter) and then like a few sentences over he’s asking if he has her consent to help give her a hand off the floor. He was asking for consent over the stupidest things and then the next scene over he’s belittling the shit out of her. The sex scenes were so cringe that I skipped over every single one of them. The FMC was an absolute doormat. The MMC would treat her like crap and she would go crawling back to him. I guess I prefer a strong FMC who doesn’t take any shit. Granted this book does include bondage so I guess submission goes with the theme? Maybe it’s because I never read Fifty Shades of Gray back in the day that I wasn’t primed for this bullshit. To each their own but personally I just do not get the whole bondage kink thing, my blood was boiling while reading this book and I had to skip through huge chunks of it to save my sanity. If a guy ever referred to me as his “pet” he’d get a swift punch to the throat. I’m just saying….
The only things I enjoyed about this book were there were some parts that were genuinely creepy like when she woke up the next morning with an arm around her or the note left on her kitchen table. I also was curious to see where Uriah and Snow’s relationship went. From their banter and Uriah’s teasing it seems like they have a cute relationship forming… you know, one not built off of self loathing and depravity like their friends in this book.
The last 3 pages started to pick up and of course it left off on a cliffhanger that makes me want to know what happens. I don’t think I will read the next book though because even if the story picks up I don’t think the author’s writing style will and the repetitiveness was probably the most grueling part of it all.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the smut but this book was 90% smut and 10% plot which fell off. There was impending war that never really got talked about in detail. It also confused me in the beginning because the descriptions made me believe this was a sort of medieval setting? But then it jumps to nightclubs and the way they talk to each other is all very modern so I wasn't really sire which time this book was in.

Way too many internal monologues and I found myself skimming a lot of the book but the premise is interesting. Kinda reads like 50 Shades meets Twilight meets Haunting Adeline. Curious to know what happens after that cliffhanger for sure!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book from the author and I am so glad that I got the chance to read this! I absolutely loved this book and can't wait for the second one to come out!!
This story follows Scarlett and Rune as they navigate their relationship after Scarlett moves to his city to find her kidnapped sister. I loved the way that Scarlett was written and how throughout the book she began to work through her insecurities and trauma from her youth. To watch her friendship with Snow blossom and to watch her gain confidence in herself was so well written. Maggie wrote this character perfectly and portrayed the FMC in a way that everyone can find something in her to relate to.
Rune is intense and a true shadow daddy. He is everything you want in a MMC in a dark romance book and he does not disappoint. His chemistry with Scarlett is undeniable and their scenes are spicyyy. That being said there is a still a plot to this book that adds intrigue to the smut.
I can't wait for the next one after that cliffhanger and I will definitely be picking up this author's other books in the meantime! I highly recommend this book, but make sure to read the trigger warnings before you do!

I actually got about 30% of the way into this book and then couldn't finish because it wasn't holding my attention.

this was unhinged, but a good time. i loved the fmc, a bleeding heart fmc always calls to me. i liked the mmc so much until the end and then i was MAD! i need to read book 2 immediately for resolution, lol.
i liked this a lot, though there was a TON of inner dialogue and it did drag on a bit at parts i enjoyed this, and if you like darker romance in your fantasy, this will 1000% be for you, but please check your triggers first!

I loved this cause I loveee succubis so much and there are not enough stories with them imo but also like i was expecting so much more depravity since Ive heard alot about it but idk what it says about me that even though I havent yet read most of the dark romance books, this still isnt anywhere near what I have read😂

3.25⭐️ It had good bits but way too many extra descriptive words and inner monologue. It was too long for what it was. And this is book 1 in a duet. I don’t think I have the patience to read book 2.

MMC - Rune: 4 🌟

LIKES: It didn't take me long at all to be hooked into the story, and the plot had a solid pace throughout. I loved the idea of Scarlett taking charge, even though her odds were futile, to set out and rescue her sister all on her own. It was brave and selfless, really shows what kind of person she is, even given her traumatic life experiences and poor relationship with her sister
Rune is an intoxicating character, and I love when an MMC is a genuine dom. It's a very different and more powerful sexual dynamic between the characters compared to someone who just likes to take charge (which is still entertaining to read, just a different intimate experience)
I also enjoyed how there were breadcrumbs of hints that Scarlett is more than what she seems, and it had me guessing constantly as to what that could be! And Snow might just be my favorite character in this duology. Her loyalty, understanding, and protectiveness over her fairly new friend is incredible
DISLIKES: I felt like the main plot of Scarlett rescuing her sister was lost among the smut. She started off so determined to find her, and then she so easily got sucked into her new life, new friends, new job, and new obsession with Rune, making it feel like she often forgot about Isabelle. The story would quickly come back and reintroduce that rescue plotline, but it would then shift into the background again, outshone by Rune and Scarlett's budding relationship instead.
I'm also not a fan of the miscommunication trope. The third act drama could've easily been avoided if Rune had just given Scarlett, the woman that he claimed and who completely gave herself over to him, a few moments to speak for herself
All in all, I still enjoyed the book very much, already queuing up book 2 on my Kindle to dive into right away! Sure, in my opinion it wasn't perfect, but it was still a solid read with a lot of potential going forward. On to book 2!!

stop because my I am raging in the best and worst way right now, this book was fucking EVERYTHING.
Stalked by Seduction and Shadows is a dual POV and follows our two MC’s, Scarlett and Rune.
Scarlett is a seductress. Using her skills in seducing men to survive and help take care of her older sister Isabella (who can kick fucking rocks). Scarlett always felt different, her sister hated her, and her family and friends, or lack thereof only fed into the feelings of inadequacy. When she makes the decision to leave her village, her plans are derailed. When presented the option of saving someone who only wished the worst for her, or starting a new life, which will she choose?
Rune, our MMC, is an ancient dark lord, vampire shadow daddy, fueled by his obsession with his mortal. Though he swore to never interfere in her life, fate had other plans. Is this all a ruse to make him weak, or can he truly be rid of desire?
This a dark fantasy, with some dark elements, so please check your trigger warnings before diving into this one.
I was hooked from page one with this story. The writing is so beautifully done, and Maggie does a phenomenal job writing the impacts of trauma and the objectification of women. There were so many moments I related to Scarlett with her feelings of inadequacy, which truly made the book that much more impactful.
I personally think the plot to spice ratio was perfect, where there is more plot than spice. However, if you’re not a reader that enjoys spice, you may think differently. With that being said, for my spice readers, that shit was GOOD. 😮💨
The last 10% had me raging, because what do you mean I loved Rune this entire book and then it felt like he pushed me off a 200 story building with no warning? Do better Rune, I’m mad at you.
Also, honorable mention to Snow, because she is the type of friend every single person deserves to have in their life.
It does end on a pretty hefty cliffhanger, so you will definitely want book two in hand!

Well folks, I think I just found my favorite read this month taking my two favorite genres of dark Romance and fantasy and combining them in one you get this masterpiece of a book.
I would just like to preface by saying this is a DARK fantasy there are dark themes in here. Please check your trigger warnings before reading this one. There is a link with her triggers you can view prior to reading for a reason.
Now onto the good stuff you have our FMC Scarlett, who is constantly shut down by the people that are supposed to love and support and uplift her. They look down on her cast her aside are envious of her. She’s constantly viewed as a sexual object and she has severe trauma because of the fact that people either want something from her, to use her, abuse her or hate her because of how drawn men seem to be to her.
That doesn’t stop her flame from going out tho oh no, she dreams of leaving her Bigot of a town to see the world.
Now Our MMC Rune? He’s an unhinged turned vampire and He is morally f*cked he surpasses the line for morally grey in the best way.
He’s been stalking our FMC and visiting her island every few years since she was a child because she reminded him of his humanity that he refuses to let go of so he continues to routinely check in on her. As time goes on, she blooms into a woman and surprise surprise. He’s head over heels for her.
Then one day her sister is taken by these Born vampires when it should’ve been our FMC. Scarlett imparts on a mission to find her sister and travels to the vampire aisle to confront the king of turned vampires to uphold his treaty with the humans and to find her sister, but surprise surprise that king would be our MMC Rune.
The spice in here was spicen, some of the most beautiful quotes I have read in a book, and I was tearing up for the FMC.
Ar the end there is a cliffhanger and a plot twist you’re gonna rage you’re gonna cry. You’re gonna feel all the things so go read this book.
