One More Page Before I Kiss You

by Victoria Connelly

Nobody writes love letters anymore, do they?

For librarian Megan Nightingale, nothing is more important than books and the close-knit community she’s built over the years at the library in Castle Clare. She’s content with her quiet life and has never felt the need to look for a partner. But, when Rick Wildman walks into her world one day, everything changes.

Rick isn’t prepared for his heart to be captured by the reserved woman behind the desk, but soon finds himself leaving love letters hidden in library books and inviting Megan to spend summer nights under the stars with him.

But Megan is fighting a secret battle and, if she can’t find a way through it, it could have dire consequences not just for her, but for those she loves most.

One More Page Before I Kiss You is the fifth novel in The Book Lovers series but can be enjoyed as a standalone story both by long-term fans and new readers alike.

About the author

Victoria Connelly grew up in Norfolk before attending Worcester College where she studied English Literature. After graduating, she worked her way through a number of jobs before becoming a teacher in North Yorkshire.

In 2000, she got married in a medieval castle in the Yorkshire Dales and moved to London. Five weeks after their wedding, her husband, a television news cameraman, was sent to Israel. Convinced something terrible would happen to him, she came up with the idea for a novel about a young widow who starts seeing angels on her desk at work, but was scared to write it in case she tempted fate. It was only years later that her husband admitted to having a bullet graze his shirt sleeve whilst filming in Israel!

Although having had articles and short stories published, it was only when Flights of Angels was published that Victoria was able to realise the dream of becoming a professional writer. Published as Unter deinem Stern in Germany, the novel was made into a film for television by award-winning Ziegler Film. Her second novel, The Unmasking of Elena Montella (Wenn es dich gibt), was published in 2007 and her third, Three Graces (Wohin mit der Liebe), was published in 2009. All three magical romantic comedies are now available as ebooks.

Her first novel to be published in the UK – Molly’s Millions – came out in 2009. This was followed by a trilogy about Jane Austen addicts: A Weekend with Mr Darcy, The Perfect Hero (US title: Dreaming of Mr Darcy) and Mr Darcy Forever.

The Runaway Actress was published in April 2012 and she is currently working on another romantic comedy, Wish You Were Here.

Reviews

I enjoyed this book, but not as much as I enjoyed the earlier books in the series. The story moved around a number of the previous characters, even though Megan and Rick were (I think) supposed to be the primary ones. I think it would have worked better if she'd focused on fewer characters and not moved around the others as much.

Continuing with Book Lovers series.
All the previous characters are there too
Victoria continues to write about the Nightingale family and we are introduced to Megan who is the Librarian.
When a handsome stranger visits the library Megan is intrigued by him and especially when he leaves notes to her in books and makes it obvious that she is to read them.
Whilst she is flattered by the attention of this man she is battling with some strange and upsetting texts on her phone.
A well written story where members of the Nightingale family are battling with their own identities and internal battles.

I do love a happy ending 😊

I'm a bit of a crime addict but every now and then I need something more gentle was thrilled when I found the new Victoria Connally as i'd read all her previous books over the years an can honestly say it's such a lovely read the only downside was I read it in a day and now are worried that I won't find something that measures up to this😊
