Being a lawyer seemed like a way to do good in the world but dealing with sketchy clients and questionable deals is draining my idealism. I want out, but I don’t know where to go. Dylan seems to have his head screwed on straight but I can’t fall into his arms when I’m not sure about my own future. He's so perfect that it's getting me all tangled up inside.
Dylan
I’m giving up my prestigious law practice and taking up knitting. All my friends think I’m crazy but life’s too short to be not be doing exactly what you want which is why when I meet Natalie, I’m ready to tie her up—permanently. I plan to unravel her resistance and convince her that true love is worth taking a risk on.
Ella Goode's novels are a balm of bliss and happiness for my hopelessly romantic heart and soul! It has everything we love about DV! This will contain some spoilers in order to remember some important parts of the story. DV! Each others one and only! *Booty shake; happy dance with a big grin on my face!*
Safe No cheating Short separation (they did go a few days not seeing each other when they first met) OW drama (This woman that was unpleasant, Julie, pursued Dylan a while back when he was lost in thought over his mom getting cancer, and they shared a few meals, so she thought they were dating but the hero did not know that they were dating until she "broke up" with him. He calls her his ex which I am not thrilled with, but there was nothing between them aside from sharing a few meals.)
Quote (Dylan's inner monologue about the "OW"), To be honest, I hadn’t realized we were dating in the first place. I was at a park, staring at the grass wondering what was so great about getting in touch with nature, when this woman started talking to me. She was a fitness fan—yoga and Pilates specifically. She talked about how flexible these exercises made her. I nodded along because my mom had just been diagnosed with cancer, and I could hear her telling me it cost nothing to be polite. She was wrong. It actually took a lot of effort to appear interested in things that aren’t interesting.... Julie seemed nice, and she’d explained over one of our dinners that she was coming off a bad breakup with a guy who cheated on her. They’d lived together for two years, and the whole time, he was sleeping with his married coworker. She dumped him, found a new place to live, and a new love. It took me the whole dinner to realize that “I” was the new love. How we arrived at love when we hadn’t held hands, kissed, or been anything more than people breaking bread together, I’m not sure, and I also wasn’t sure how to break up with someone who thought a few meals meant happily ever after was right over the horizon. end quote I don't care for the hero calling this "other woman" his ex, even though, when you read the book he had no idea that sharing a meal with a woman means that they are dating, so I ended up being fine with it. If anything, it shows me just how endearingly innocent our hero is. I understand if it is too much for some.
Quote (Natalie asks about the "OW" Julie), “You can ask me anything,” he offers. “You sound a bit inept about dating. I admit that I might also be suffering from the same ineptness, but could you please explain how you didn't realize you were actually dating Julie?” By the time he does, I’m fighting not to laugh. “What was I going to do? She was drunk, and my mother would kill me if I tossed out a woman on the brink of passing out from my home.” A mention of his mother again. “You did the right thing.” “I don’t know how she knew where I lived.” Dylan takes a sip of water. “Not that I have room to talk. I was stalking you down tonight.” end quote
OM drama (unwanted OM flirts with the heroine, but she tries to avoid him, he gets a bit too forward and she shuts that down! She also mentions she had boyfriend in law school but he was her study buddy, nothing more, and she called him that only because they spent so much time together studying.) Quote (Dylan asks about her dating past), Rather than admit this, I ask her a question. “Do you date a lot?” “Feeling like we’re at the Lyceum and you’re Socrates as you answer my questions with more questions, but I’ll bite. Not a lot. I had a somewhat serious boyfriend in law school but realized that was fueled more because I needed a study buddy than because we had anything in common.”.... end quote Quote, (she alleviates his jealousy explaining the "serious college boyfriend" wasn't really a boyfriend) “I said we were serious, but that’s only because I spent time with him every day, not because we did anything about it.” end quote I feel the same about her college study buddy, I don't consider him her ex. They spent time together studying and that's it. I am ok with it but I get it if it bothers some.
No gross condom use No stupid third act break up Light read, just enough drama HEA
Dylan is so focused on work and getting out of his career as an attorney because he wants to pursue a more fulfilling job that isn't making his soul shrivel. He wants to pursue what his mom taught him. Knitting! Yes! This huge hunk with baseball mitts for hands loves to knit and he happily knits away. I LOVE THAT SO MUCH!! He has his mother recovering from cancer, so that was a wake up call for him to quit his career and to be with her. That is when he first started knitting and he enjoyed both the process and the results. He started because his mom was too weak from chemo to do it herself, so he took over for her. *sweet sigh* He is alpha, protective, sexy, sweet, loving, devoted, shy, clueless about women in the sweetest way (just how I like my heroes), a bit of a dirty talker and one more thing, his love of being a dad-to-be is so sexy to me. We get that in the epilogue as he caresses Nichole's baby bump. He knitted a baby bonnet in pink, because when he imagines having a baby he pictures a little girl. Our heroine Nichole is a lawyer as well, and she wants to quit because she both cannot stand being a lawyer anymore and wants to become a romance author instead. She doesn't have the courage to go through with it because she knows it will disappoint her mother, but she builds the courage thanks to Dylan's support. She is strong, sweet and just as clueless about dating and intimacy as Dylan but when these two love birds get together, sparks fly and the sex is steamy. There are a few challenges, like her seeing that the guy this Julie woman was "dating" was the huge, handsome hunk she stared at in the restaurant, Dylan. When she first saw Dylan she never felt that way for a man, so she was saddened. He fell hard when he first met Nichole, but didn't know how to explain that it was news to him that he was "dating", because to him this Julie was just a nice woman who came up to him one day, sat down next to him and they shared a few meals. Somehow Julie turned it into them dating for some reason and it didn't help Julie was at the table. He did not know that it was a date to share a meal with a woman until Nichole told him. That is why the "OW" part did not bother me so much as I kept reading, because it showed me just how innocent and clueless Dylan is about this stuff. It had to be explained to him! Ella Goode handled this part well, because when he started to mention his ex at the beginning, I frowned and said to myself, 'Oh no! What the hell?!'. But then the situation was explained and I sighed in relief. That was the giant crux in this story. There are three other men, Kaden, Graham and Brooks who are his poker friends, and one of them, Kaden already has a love story brewing with Nichole's friend, Frankie. We get three more stories and of course I cross fingers and toes that they will all be DV, and I am confident that they will be. I am so excited!! Ella Goode is the only author I read knowing she will gift us DV romances and quench our thirst for one true love couples. She is the only one who remained consistent and why she is my favorite author. The romance in this is so... so... fervently passionate with a whirlwind of deep affection swirling around them. I almost can imagine it like a tiny tornado of pink and red wrapping our love birds together as they embrace. The erotica is heart pounding and the way he whispers as he leaves soft kisses on her body, made me melt. I don't want to include any quotes to do with intimacy, because I want to relive it when I reread it, and I will for sure many many MANY times. I want to relive their exchanges of them being each others one and only and especially when he confesses to her that there was no other woman before her. His confession made me gasp in happiness the same time Nichole's eyes lit up in response as she embraced him. This scene just made my heart burst into tiny red and pink hearts confetti! THIS makes my DV loving heart happy! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU Ella Goode! Please do yourself a kindness and read it! I enjoyed it and knowing myself, I will read this often. Again, I get that some of you might not approve of how the "OW/OM" was handled. I was ok with it as I read along, but I think it best to mention it just in case. Happy Reading!
I think the plot could’ve been better, and certain aspects could’ve had better closure. I’ve yet to find a dual v book that isn’t short or a little corny, but I keep trying. 😂
It's a lovely and engaging novella with instalove and great friendship dynamics. I liked this story right from the start because the male character has taken a life-altering decision and is both solemn and flippant about it. The way it affects everyone around him is hilarious.
There are two bunches of friends, one of men and one of women. Their interactions are so entertaining. I loved the men talking together and their banter. The dialogues are fun and fluid.
On the other hand, the women are ambitious, kind and good friends to each other. The scenes keep mixing both groups in fun ways. I also really liked that the characters have interesting backgrounds and that this seems like a good starting point for a little series with a story for each couple.
The romance is fast but well thought-out, steamy yet sweet. Dylan is adorable (his hobby is just perfect!) whereas Natalie is facing a tough situation. I was really into all of it.
The epilogue wrapped it all very nicely. Did I detect some notes of real-life authenticity in it? Food for thought. And the author's note brings me joy :-)

Tangled Hearts de Ella Goode Serie The Heart Connection libro 1
Argumento:
Natalie
Dylan
It’s not a full 5 star review because of some details I am not fond of. But, overall it’s a beautiful insta-love story. Dylan is obsessed with her from the moment he saw her. And she is an intelligent woman. A lawyer btw. Not a weak fmc. I loved how forward he was with her. The wedding dress scene 😍!! He would’ve married her by the second day, swoon!! He is a true sweetheart. And she completes him. Love how they helped each other and how she won a mom. The reconciliation with her mom felt a little rushed and extra. Maybe if the book was a little longer some details would’ve been covered better.
What I really, really didn’t like is the Julie situation and the college BF either. Dylan is this super intelligent lawyer that built a successful law firm… but misunderstood Julie’s intentions when they dined?? A lawyer is supposed to be sharp witted and not let details pass through in order to win every case. How did he miss that case?? He is not supposed to let misunderstandings pass. Another thing, if Julie lived with her ex, she’s experienced which make her a confident and forward woman. She must’ve tried to make advances to Dylan especially because in her head they were dating. So, it’s hard to believe they didn’t hold hands, nor kissed. I would’ve preferred a different approach to his “past love life” without eliminating him being a virgin and have his first with Nat (which I love). Write him not having time to date because he was busy building his firm and taking care of his mom. And why does Nat count her college friend as a boyfriend. What kind of mentality is this!!! It wasn’t even romantic!!! Just a study buddy. I think this could’ve been more credible, coming from two people that are intelligent enough to practice their profession.
SAFE. - DUAL VIRGINS… yeeeeessssss - no separation, cheating - OW - Julie thought they were dating but to him they weren’t
Two lawyers walk into a bar and begin a sweet, funny, charming romance. While this is kind of an instalove, it felt so realistic because the characters' motivations came through so clearly. Also, both main characters had great relationships with friend groups that added more layers to their personalities.
This story had so much depth. Each character has issues in their life. Yet, there are moments when the humor is so heartwarming.
This is a standalone novel in what will be a series. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the love stories for each of their friends. This is a safe read that includes some explicit language and content. The main characters take their time getting to know each other before total intimacy occurs.
- Insta love - Stalking - Dual virgins - Both lawyers (turned knitter and author)
I was sceptical about this book just based on his past relationship with ow, how he didn’t even know they were dating before she broke up with him. But after giving it a shot, I’m really glad I read this. I felt like the ex ting was just funny and kind of humiliating for the ow for thinking he even saw her when she had to force herself into his life - which he gave her nothing. Didn’t even treat her like a friend. She was kind of mean towards her, something he was aware of. She kind of just disappeared. - He didn’t even hold hands or kiss or anything with her.
But once he sees the h, he’s all in, and he’s such a sweetie.
Safety - Safe, only owd is this above - Some omd with a client she has, he wants her and she keeps turning him down. - Dual virgin

Tangled Hearts was such a cute read, and now I’m so excited for their friends to get their own happily ever afters. This book was easy to get into, and I was very entertained the entire time. If you like Ella Goode’s sweet stories with a hint of spice you’ll like this one for sure. Dylan and Natalie were so into each other from that first meet up, and kept getting better.
Can I also say that I loved how he fell in love with knotting because of his mom. That was cute as heck, and It was also cute that Natalie wasn’t phased by it at all. These two were made for each other and really just clicked perfectly in this read. It was a fun read, and I enjoyed the hints dropped at who is the in both their friend groups.
-dual POV -insta attraction -> love -no separation -no cheating -unwanted om attention -no real ow drama (the H's "ex" was annoying but she didn't cause drama for the MCs; from the H's perspective he wasn't even dating her, he was just going through a tough time when he met her, they shared a couple meals and she latched on to him, he never even kissed her) -both virgins -the H was not the most alpha but I still liked him -epilogue: months later (?) -married with a baby on the way
Dylan has given up his law practice so he can stay home and knit. This is in honor of his mother. But one night at a bar with his friend he meets Natalie. A lawyer in her own right that hates her job. Loved Natalie and Dylan, great characters that click together. You’re rooting for them through the whole story. I loved this story. Fast and steamy and a great HEA.
This was a good story. I liked that the MMC wasn't a traditional alpha(I do wish we got a smidge more on him). The MFC was a woman dealing with a pain in the butt client. I liked the story line and the steps Dylan went to prove worthy of a date. I do wish we got a little more on the Julie aspect though.
As I have come to expect from an Ella Goode book, Tangled Hearts is short, sweet and steamy - and fun! There is always a lightness to her books that I just adore. The fact that it is Dylan that is the knitter just makes me happy. These two have an instant connection that there is no denying. I am looking forward to the rest of the poker group’s stories!
Natalie and Dylan, their story is likely to be the funniest, cutest and spiciest insta love story of all time. Both are lawyers, he has a prestige firm that he is leaving. She is dealing with a creepy client. With all that going on these two find love, respect and happiness.
He’s a quirky manly man and he’s the one for her. Too bad it seems like he might have a girlfriend when she first meets him. Or does he?!?! He doesn’t believe he has a girlfriend and doesn’t understands why she thinks he’s her boyfriend… Oh boy!!!
I loved the cuteness of this story. The fact that Dylan understood what was important and decided he was doing what made him happy was delightful. Can’t wait for the poker gang.
Two lawyers find love when they aren't looking. He has taken up knitting and is getting out of law. She just met him and is instantly smitten. They are tangled hearts... Loved this one. Hope to get more from his poker group next!
“I want to scrape my teeth against the artery in her neck that is standing proud. I want to peel off her clothes with my teeth, map her frame with my hands, brand her with my cock.” -Dylan Wolfson, from Tangled Hearts by Ella Goode
3.4 stars. I enjoyed the plot. It was something different. However, it just felt off, the characters just didn't grab me like previous characters. It's kind of funny though because I do want other stories about the other characters.
My favorite part of this book was the witty banter and the way the hero couldn't care less what people thought of what he quit practicing law to do. The 1st sight between the lovebirds was perfect!
I love Dylan and Natalie together. The unconventional way they met and the person trying to keep them apart made the story more compelling. I loved the instant connection you could feel on the page. They were sweet together. Worth the read and I cannot wait for the next books.
Natalie and Dilan met and from the very first moment had a crush, but for these two their lives were being a bit chaotic, although at dinal after dealing with job changes, crazy ex-girlfriends, difficult bosses and friends who are in everything with them.
